• Deploying xbap in a full trust mode

  I have xbap which needs to run on a full trust mode because my application needs to upload a file from the client machine to process. I have to provide a installation steps to install. If i do it as a click one instillation, do i still get a security error? If so what is the best way to resolve it? If i install it in remote server, I saw couple of options in internet like creating certificates and ask user to import this certificate. Other option is to ask the user to allow access to xbap applications which provides access to all xbap applications (not so good). what is best way? It would be really great, if some could provide me the installation steps for both scenarios.

• SAT Thread and Process output capture in c#

  Hi: This is a strange problem I encountered. I have an window application written in c# to do testing. It has a MDI parent form that is hosting a few children forms. One of the forms launch test cripts by creating processes and capture the scripts output to a text box. Another form open serial port and monitoring the status of the device I am working on(like a shell). If I ran both of them together, the output of the script seems only appear in the text box after the test is done. However, If I don't open the serial port form, the output of the script is captured in real time. Does anyone knows what's causing the problem? I notice the onDataReceived even handler for serial port form has a [SAThread] header to it. Will this cause the serial port thread having higher priority than other processes? Thanks in advance.

• Installing .NET 3.5 SP1 on server broke WCF

  I installed .NET 3.5 SP1 on server which previously had .NET 3.0 SP2. Before install site was working perfectly. After install and subsequeny server restart, site displays but anything that makes use of the WCF service has stopped working. The exception log reports exceptions like the following when any calls are made to the client proxy: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state. The server's application event log gave the following errors after the install: Configuration section system.serviceModel.activation already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. Configuration section system.runtime.serialization already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. Configuration section system.serviceModel already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. which seems to be inline with the fact that anything WCF related has stopped working. I am not experienced in server configurations or WCF so looking for any assistance with this. Thanks!! • jQuery getJson returning null

  I'm trying to use this api that lets you reference an exact text, but the getJson does not seem to be working, it's just returning null. $.getJSON('http://api.biblia.com/v1/bible/content/KJV.json?key=MYAPIKEY=John+3:16-18&style=bibleTextOnly', function(data) { alert(data); }); I just took the key out, i've been testing it with my real api key, and it works fine when i just visit the url. is there anything else i need to do to make it work? • Running IE6, IE7, and IE8 on the same machine

  Like everyone else ;), I need to test my code on IE6 and IE7. Now IE8 has some great tools for developer, which I'd like to use. I'd also like to start testing my code with IE8, as it will soon be released. The question is: how to run IE6, IE7, and IE8 on the same machine. So far with IE6 and IE7 I've been using Multiple IE. But people have reported (see comments on the page linked in the previous sentence) issue with IE6 after installing IE8. Those errors are related to focus in form fields. Running IE7 wouldn't matter so much as IE8 can use the IE7 rendering engine, but we still need IE6. Any recommendation on how to IE6, IE7, and IE8 on the same machine?

• Sysprep and Capture task sequence failing using MDT 2010

  I have created a Windows Deployment Services server in Windows 2008 R2. When I originally set it up I was able to successfully use MDT 2010 to create my boot images as well as creating task sequences that would sysprep and capture, and deploy my custom .wim files. Everything was working perfectly. About a month later I boot up my Windows 7 x86 image and run Windows updates to keep my image up to date. I then go and run my sysprep and capture task sequence and I get the following errors: I searched online for the cause of this error message and it just seems to be a generic permission denied type of error message. I then decided to completely rebuild my VM image from scratch and try again. I am still getting the same error messages as before. The following is what I have tried troubleshooting this issue: Troubleshooting: I have ensured that that UAC and the firewall is turned completely off when trying to capture the image. I have tried recreating the task sequence and making sure that the deployment share is updated. I have ensured that the local Administrator account is enabled and has the same password as specified in the task sequence. I have tried joining the computer to the domain and running the task sequence and I get a different error: I have attempted to run the script from the command prompt with "Run as Administrator" and I still receive the same errors above. For testing purposes I have ensured that Everyone has read/write access to my deployment share. I have spent days on trying to resolve this to no avail. Any ideas? • OpenGL Colorspace Conversion

  Does anyone know how to create a texture with a YUV colorspace so that we can get hardware based YUV to RGB colorspace conversion without having to use a fragment shader? I'm using an NVidia 9400 and I don't see an obvious GL extension that seems to do the trick. I've found examples how to use a fragment shader, but the project I'm working on currently only supports OpenGL 1.1 and I don't have time to convert it to 2.0 and perform all the regression testing necessary. This is also targeting Linux. On other platforms I've been using a MESA extension but it doesn't function on the Nvidia card.

  I'm trying to extract text from PDF files using an iFilter. The Adobe PDF iFilter that is distributed with Adobe Reader is awful, returning HRESULT E_FAIL messages for many PDF documents. The FoxIt PDF IFilter works beautifully on virtually all of the PDFs I've been using for testing. The problem is that every time the Adobe Updater runs, it replaces the awesome FoxIt IFilter with the crappy Adobe IFilter. I've been using the LoadIFilter method to get the registered IFilter for PDF files. Is there a way to force the Win32 API to load the FoxIt IFilter instead of the Adobe IFilter? NOTE: This question about determining which IFilters are installed asks a related -- but not identical -- question.

  I'm trying to set up Eclipse to run and deploy my projects to a Jetty 7 server (the oldest version available from http://download.eclipse.org/jetty/). I've downloaded Jetty 7 and unpacked it, and I've installed the Jetty plugin from the available server adapters list, but when I try to configure a new Jetty server, the server type list only contains "Jetty 6". • Why does CLLocationManager returns null locations on the iphone SDK 4 beta in the Simulator?

I tested earlier in sdk 3.0 and works nice (on both simulator and device). I'm testing this class on the SDK 4, in the simulator, but it gives null as a newLocation. I can't even get the NSLog for the first call. I checked other app where I use the location framework and it doesn't work either. I implemented the locationManager:didFailWithError: message also, wich is never called. Can anyone please confirm that the simulator can't do any CLLocationManager capabilities? (a link where the bug is reported as a known issue will be awesome). Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

  In a panic since I'm trying to meet a deadline so appreciate any feedback on this. For some reason, Flexbuilder 3 on my mac won't launch, crashes on startup. I've never experienced this before. Checked the .log file and what seems to be the problem is the following /Users/foo/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#Security/FlashPlayerTrust/flexbuilder.fbr (No such file or directory) WTF is the flexbuilder.fbr??? Googled but not much luck. The only thing I've done that might have caused this is change flash player versions system wide using the official flash player uninstaller...but obviously this should not happen Any feedback appreciated...

I have generated the proxy, added the service reference to my project in visual studio and I can see all the methods I have created in my WCF interface: SupportStaffServiceClient client = new SupportStaffServiceClient("WSHttpBinding_ISupportStaffService"); client.myMethod(message); However when I call a method, which in the WCF interface is specified as returning a value, the method returns void in the console application. client.getMethod(message); The WCF service method is definitely returning a message, I'm just unsure as to why the client cannot "see" the return.

There are a number of questiosn on StackOverflow that ALMOST hit this topic head on, but they are either for other technologies, reference obsolets information or don;t supply an answer that I can suss out. So pardon the almost duplication :) I have a working ADO.NET Data Service, and a WPF client that hits it. Now that they are working fine I want to add authentication / security to the system. My understanding of the steps so far is... Turn on forms authentication and configure it on the server (I have an existing asp.net membership service DB for other aspects of this app, so that isnt a problem) so that it is required for the service URL In WCF apply for and recieve a forms authentication "ticket" as part of a login routine Add that "ticket" to the headers of the ADO.NET service calls in WPF Profit! All well and good - but does anyone have a line on a soup to nuts code sample, using the modern releases of these technologies? Thanks!

  I was writing a program in C++ to find all solutions of a^b = c (a to the power of b), where a, b and c together use all the digits 0-9 exactly once. The program looped over values of a and b, and ran a digit-counting routine each time on a, b and a^b to check if the digits condition was satisfied. However, spurious solutions can be generated when a^b overflows the integer limit. I ended up checking for this using code like: unsigned long b, c, c_test; ... c_test=c*b; // Possible overflow if (c_test/b != c) {/* There has been an overflow*/} else c=c_test; // No overflow Is there a better way of testing for overflow? I know that some chips have an internal flag that is set when overflow occurs, but I've never seen it accessed through C or C++.

• Breakpoints not working in Delphi 6 DirectShow source filter

  I'm trying to debug my DirectShow source filter. I'm using Delphi Pro 6 on Windows XP along with the DSPACK component library. I'm using Skype as my host application, which I set in the Parameters option in the Run menu, for testing my source filter DLL (ax file extension). Skype runs fine and I see a stream of my OutputDebugString messages in the Event Viewer, but none of my breakpoints are ever hit. In my Project Settings I have optimizations off, stack frames on, debug DCUs on, Range Checking on, and Overflow checking on. Each time I modify my code and run a test I: Do a full build Unregister the DirectShow filter (regsvr32 /u) Register the DirectShow filter (regsvr32) Run Skype as my Host application from the IDE When an Exception occurs, the IDE does trap it and pops up an error dialog box with the option to view the assembler code in the CPU window. However none of my breakpoints are being hit. Can anyone tell me how to get breakpoints working? Thanks.
