• iTunes want to remove my existing apps on iPad

  Here is the situation. I connected my iPad to some new PC, Synced, then ticking Sync Apps from Devices-Apps will give me warning that all existing apps on my iPad will be replaced with those from Library-Apps. But in Library I have just couple old apps, which long time ago I used. So how I can sync the library in iTunes with my existing apps from iPad? EDIT: I have tried to click on Transfer Purchases, but not all of the items went to the library, just few of them.

• Sharepoint 2007 reset permission inheritance

  I have this SharePoint 2007 document library which has several levels of folders and files. Some folders in the middle of the hierarchy do not inherit permissions from their parents and have their unique permissions defined. It is a huge library and there are many folders like this. I am currently changing the permission model of my library and I want to reset all those unique permissions and have all of them inherit permissions from the library root. (Something like "Replace child object permissions" checkbox available in windows files system security window) If this is not possible, seeing a list of folders that have their unique permissions defined would also do.

• Oracle Secure Global Desktop (SGD) 5.1

  Last week, we released the latest update of Oracle Secure Global Desktop. Release 5.1 introduces a number of bug fixes and smaller changes but the most interesting one is definitely increased support for html5-based client access. In SGD 5.0 we added support for Apple iPads using Safari to connect to SGD and display your session right inside the browser. The traditional model for SGD is that you connect using a webbrowser to the webtop and applications that are displayed locally using a local client (tta). This client gets installed the first time you connect. So in the traditional model (which works very well...) you need a webbrowser, java and the tta client. With the addition of html5 support, there's no longer a need to install a local client, in fact, there is also no longer a need to have java installed. We currently support Chrome as a browser to enable html5 clients. This allows us to enable html5 on the android devices and also on desktops running Chrome (Windows, MacOS X, Linux). Connections will work transparently across proxy servers as well. So now you can run any SGD published app or desktop right from your webbrowser inside a browser window. This is very convenient and cool.

  I would like to setup Windows Server 2008 R2 using RemoteFX at home, for a couple of users to all use the server (instead of buying each user a seperate computer). I have been trying to find what processors (Intel based) that support the SLAT that is apparently needed to run RemoteFX.   I'm trying force installing a Radeon HD 2100 on Windows 8. I've found that link from AMD with the drivers for Windows7: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/legacy/Pages/legacy-radeonaiw-vista64.aspx I know too that AMD will stop support Radeon HD 400 and older: http://www.techspot.com/news/48321-amd-drops-windows-8-support-for-radeon-hd-4000-and-older.html Now, let's go to the problem. If I try install the 12.6 driver, Windows will stick with the "basic display adapter", and this is bad for 3d games like Minecraft, that runs really slow now compared with the previous Windows7 installation. Forcing install the catalyst driver can help to fix it. So, I follow that steps: Extract the Catalist Driver (C:\AMD\Support\12-6-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql) Right click the "basic display adapter" on device manager, and "update driver" Search on PC I will choose the driver "With Disk" "C:\AMD\Support\12-6-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF" There is a big list of drivers and the nearest driver to HD 2100 is "Radeon HD 2350 Series" My questions: Why isn't "Radeon HD 2100 Series" listed? (or Where is it listed?) In theory it must be listed" The first link above show that "This article applies to the following configuration(s):" (...) "AMD Radeon HD 2000 Series" Am I doing something wrong?

• Sync content from my iPad to iTunes? i.e. "reverse" syncing

  I recently had to reset my PC back to factory settings which lost my entire iTunes library. I still have my music and other files on my iPad and want to sync it back to the PC. Upon syncing it only gives me two options. "Erase and Sync" which replaces the contents of my iPad with the blank iTunes library, or, "Transfer Purchases" which reads like it will only transfer the purchases from iPad to iTunes. I would like to avoid re-burning my entire CD library to iTunes all over again. Is there a way for me to sync the iPad to the iTunes library (aka the computer)?

• Tomcat 7 vs. ehCache Standalone Server (Glassfish) Configuration with RESTful Web Services

  My requirements consist of using ehCache to send and store data via RESTful web service calls. The data can be stored in-memory or via the filesystem... Never used ehCache before so I am having some issues deciding on which bundle to use. Have downloaded the following bundles: ehcache-2.6.2 ehcache-standalone-server-1.0.0 (1) What is the difference between the two? It seems the ehcache-2.6.2 contains src and binaries, which essentially enables one to bundle it with their webapps (by putting the compiled jar or binaries inside the webapp's WEB-INF/lib folder). But it doesn't seem that it has support for Restful web services. Whereas, ehcache-standalone-server-1.0.0 (comes with an embedded Glassfish server and has support for REST & SOAP) can be used to run as a standalone server. If I my answers to my own question are correct, then that means, I should just use the standalone server? (2) My requirements are to setup ehCache (with REST support) on Tomcat 7. So, how could I setup ehCache on Tomcat 7 as a separate app with REST & SOAP support? Thank you for taking the time to read this...

  Matt Lord already announced this change, but I am so happy, so want to repeat. MySQL Community Bugs Database Team introduced new button "Affects Me". After you click this button, counter, assigned to each of bug reports, will increase by one. This means we: MySQL Support and Engineering, - will see how many users are affected by the bug. Why is this important? We have always considered community input as we prioritize bug fixes, and this is one more point of reference for us. Before this change we only had a counter for support customers which increased when they opened a support request, complaining they are affected by a bug. But our customers are smart and not always open support request when hit a bug: sometimes they simply implement workaround. Or there could be other circumstances when they don't create a ticket. Or this could be just released version, which big shops frighten to use in production. Therefore, sometimes, when discussing which bug to prioritize and which not we can not rely only on "Affects paying customers" number, rather need to make guess if one or another bug can affect large group of our users. We used number of bug report subscribers, most recent comments, searched forums, but all these methods gave only approximation. Therefore I want to ask you. If you hit a bug which already was reported, but not fixed yet, please click "Affects Me" button! It will take just a few seconds, but your voice will be heard.

  I have a subversion externals entry in a library folder which looks like this: Z https://svn/Z/trunk/library/Z Fetching external item into '/home/releases/50/library/Z' svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn/repo/trunk/library/Z': could not connect to server (http://svn) The externals URL was the same, but over the HTTP protocol. Having changed the externals to point to the HTTPS, I can't figure out why subversion is still trying to use the old URL. Does subversion cache the externals path, and if so how can I clear this? If not, what else could be causing this? I can check out from the correct (HTTPS) URL fine from the server. NOTE: svn is an entry in the server's local hosts file, pointing to our subversion server's IP.
