  • How to retrieve checkboxes values in jQuery

    - by lanqy
    How to use jQuery to get the checked checkboxes values, and put it into a textarea immediately? Just like this code: <html> <head> </head> <body> <div id="c_b"> <input type="checkbox" value="one_name" checked> <input type="checkbox" value="one_name1"> <input type="checkbox" value="one_name2"> </div> <textarea id="t"></textarea> </body> </html> If the id="c_d" is updated by Ajax, the below of altCognito's code doesn't work. Is there any good solution?

  • jquery :last missing multiple classes

    - by mickyjtwin
    I have an unordered list, and am using jquery to find the last ul and apply a class. jQuery("ul.class1:last").addClass("lastUi"); The html is as follows: <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1"></ul> This is working fine, however it has now changed in that another class is being added to the list so the html looks like: <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1 class2"></ul> <ul class="class1"></ul> <ul class="class1 class2"></ul> The jQuery code is now not picking up the last ul with both class1 and class2 as the last element and isn't adding the lastUI class.

  • How to add a suffix at the end of a string in PHP

    - by Golem
    I am trying to add a .html suffix at the end of all strings supplied by the user before it is entered into the database. Here's my code so far: strtolower(str_replace(" ", "_", $postTitle)); The above takes the title of the post the user it trying to make, turns it to lower case, replaces all white spaces with underscores and makes it ready to be entered into a database column called post_url. I just need it to do one more thing and that's to add a .html at the end of each post url. What is the function to do this?

  • Fix internal links in JS

    - by FB55
    I just created a script which extracts the article out of a webpage via server-side JS. (If your interested: it's used for http://pipes.yahoo.com/fb55/expandr .) I just got a little problem with internal links. Some pages include links like: /subfolder/subpage.html What I would need to do is fixing them and setting there root, like this: protocol://secondlevel.firstlevel/subfolder/subpage.html I'm using E4X for processing the page. I don't want to show my current creepy try, it's buggy and slow. Does anybody have a solution for me?

  • any way to use ajax with jstl customtags without duplicating tags in javascript?

    - by CodeMonkeyB
    I am working on a page where part of the content is loaded normally and the pages are rendered using jsps. The product images and links generated on that page are by custom jstl tags. When the user scrolls more products are requested from the server in a JSON response and then using UnderscoreJS templates they are rendered and added to the bottom of the page. Is there any way I can use the JSTL tags in Javascript without recreating them using a javascript function (it won't be possible to re-create all of them in javascript). What is the best way to handle this scenario? I guess I could return a rendered html response for the ajax call, but that would mean I have some ajax requests which use json and some that use rendered html...

  • Data loss when converting from QString to QByteArray

    - by SleepyCod
    I'm using QPlainTextEdit as an HTML editor, saving the data through an HTTP post with QNetworkAccessManager. I experience data loss when using HTML special characters such as & (ampersand) I'm building a POST request with a QByteArray (as mentioned in the docs). QByteArray postData; QMapIterator<QString, QString> i(params); while(i.hasNext()) { i.next(); postData .append(i.key().toUtf8()) .append("=") .append(i.value().toUtf8()) .append("&"); } postData.remove(postData.length()-1, 1); //Do request QNetworkRequest postRequest = QNetworkRequest(res); oManager.post(postRequest, postData);

  • Proper Regex to find and replace escaped UTF-8 strings

    - by Piet Binnenbocht
    (edited) I am reading a JSON file that includes some UTF-8 characters that are encoded like this: "\uf36b". I am trying to write a RegExp to convert this to an HTML entity that looks like "&#x1F36B;". This displays the character correctly in my html page. I haven't been able to correctly display the character that should be associated with "\uf36b", especially when in a longer sentence that also includes other text. How can I write a regexp that replaces strings like "\uf4d6" and "\uf36b" but leaves other text alone? Example: var str = "I need \uf36b #chocolate"; This should be converted to: I need &#x1F36B; #chocolate;

  • Simple Counter issue

    - by TechyDude
    I want to make a very simple counter that increases the value when you click a button. When I click the add button the first time, the number doesn't increase, however I console log the value which increases the result everytime. Any ideas? The fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/techydude/H63As/ $(function() { var //valueCount = $("counter").value(), counter = $("#counter"), addBtn = $("#add"), value = $("#counter").html(); addBtn.on("click", function() { counter.html(value ++); console.log(value); return }); });

  • Django i18n: makemessages only on site level possible?

    - by AndiDog
    I have several strings in my site that don't belong to any app, for example {% block title %}{% trans "Login" %}{% endblock %} or a modified authentication form used to set the locale cookie class AuthenticationFormWithLocaleOption(AuthenticationForm): locale = forms.ChoiceField(choices = settings.LANGUAGES, required = False, initial = preselectedLocale, label = _("Locale/language")) Now when I execute django-admin.py makemessages --all -e .html,.template in the site directory, it extracts the strings from all Python, .html and .template files, including those in my apps. That is because I develop my apps inside that directory: Directory structure: sitename myapp1 myapp2 Is there any way to extract all strings that are not in my apps? The only solution I found is to move the app directories outside the site directory structure, but I'm using bzr-externals (similar to git submodules or svn externals) so that doesn't make sense in my case. Moving stuff that needs translation into a new app is also possible but I don't know if that is the only reasonable solution.

  • How to embed a web browser control in a cross-platform application?

    - by Gil
    hi, I need to write quickly this application: a simple window that wraps a web browser control, that runs html pages. The Browser UI (e.g. Navigation buttons) should be suppressed. As a .net developer, I would embed the WebBrowser OCX in a Windows Form. But this has to run on Mac as well!! I found the following cross-platform candidates. Which one would you choose (in terms of simplicity, stableness, community support, etc.): 1) wxWidgets (www.kirix.com/labs/wxwebconnect.html) 2) QT: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee8eRwjbcFk&feature=related 3) MONO: www.mono-project.com/WebBrowser Thanks!

  • Special characters incongruence

    - by Enrique
    Hello I'm building a Spring MVC web application that runs on Tomcat 6.0.20 and JDK 1.6.0_19. When I send some special characters through an HTML form some of them are stored as question marks ? For example these symbols are stored correctly: €, á, é, í, ‰, etc But some symbols are replaced with ? like: £, ?, ? MySQL tables charset is utf-8. My jsp also use utf-8 <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" pageEncoding="UTF-8" %> I have included org.springframework.web.filter.CharacterEncodingFilter in web.xml as suggested here When I debug the POST request when sending 3 characters €a£ with firebug I get: %E2%82%ACa%E2%82%A4 which is correct since E2 82 AC is the code for € and E2 82 A4 is the code for £ but £ is stored as ? in the database. When I save £ directly into the database it is displayed correctly in the webpage. How can I fix this?

  • Slow Client connection blocks Mongrel

    - by Sanjay
    I have a Apache + Haproxy + Mongrel setup for my rails application. When I hit a particular server page, mongrel takes around 100ms to process the request and I get the page in around 5 secs due to data transmission time on my slow home connection. Now I see that during these 5 secs of data transmission, mongrel does not serve any other request. I am surprised as that means mongrel is serving the response html to the client and is blocked till the client receives it. Shouldn't serving response be the job of Apache? This puts serious bottleneck in the no of requests Mongrel can serve as that would depend on the speed of the client connection. Is there any way that html generated by mongrel is served by apache/haproxy or any other web server like nginx? I wonder how the other high traffic sites are managing it?

  • Looping through array in PHP to post several multipart form-data

    - by Léon Pelletier
    I'm trying in an asp web application to code a function that would loop through a list of files in a multiple upload form and send them one by one. Is this something that can be done in ASP? Because I've read some posts about how to attach several files together, but saw nothing about looping through the files. I can easily imagine it in C# via HttpWebRequest or with socket, but in php, I guess there are already function designed to handle it? // This is false/pseudo-code :) for (int index = 0; index < number_of_files; index++) { postfile(file[index]); } And in each iteration, it should send a multipart form-data POST. postfile(TheFileInfos) should make a POST like it: POST /afs.aspx?fn=upload HTTP/1.1 [Header stuff] Content-Type: multipart/form-data; boundary=----------Ef1Ef1cH2Ij5GI3ae0gL6KM7GI3GI3 [Header stuff] ------------Ef1Ef1cH2Ij5GI3ae0gL6KM7GI3GI3 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="Filename" myimage1.png ------------Ef1Ef1cH2Ij5GI3ae0gL6KM7GI3GI3 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="fileid" 58e21ede4ead43a5201206101806420000007667212251 ------------Ef1Ef1cH2Ij5GI3ae0gL6KM7GI3GI3 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="Filedata"; filename="myimage1.png" Content-Type: application/octet-stream [Octet Stream] [Edit] I'll try it: <html> <head> <title>Untitled Document</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body> <form name="form1" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" action="processFiles.php"> <p> <? // start of dynamic form $uploadNeed = $_POST['uploadNeed']; for($x=0;$x<$uploadNeed;$x++){ ?> <input name="uploadFile<? echo $x;?>" type="file" id="uploadFile<? echo $x;?>"> </p> <? // end of for loop } ?> <p><input name="uploadNeed" type="hidden" value="<? echo $uploadNeed;?>"> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"> </p> </form> </body> </html>

  • Jquery disable link for 5 seconds

    - by John
    I have this code: $('#page-refresh').click( function() { $.ajax({ url: "/page1.php", cache: false, dataType: "html", success: function(data) { $('#pagelist').html(data); } }); return false; }); In this code is it possible that on the ajax success function it disables the #page-refresh click for 5 seconds then re-enable it? Basically if a person clicks the button and this action happens I dont want them to click and run this action again for another 5 seconds. I looked at delay() to unbind the click for this then bind it again but once it unbinded it never allowed me to click the button anymore.

  • Custom URL Schema and UTI

    - by user573259
    I define a Custom URL Schema for my iPhone App http://iphonedevelopertips.com/cocoa/lau…url-scheme.html or a custom UTI (Uniform type identifier) developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/FileManagement/Conceptual/understanding_utis/understand_utis_declare/understand_utis_declare.html%23//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40001319-CH204-SW1 -- Where is this information stored on the iphone? (I do not mean the Info.plist of the app - here must be a central file for such settings like keychain-2.db for passes and stuff) I got some very confusing behavior of an app that was compiled installed with different settings in the Info.plist for the file type (UTI) association and I would like to check if there is some trash (old settings) left from previous versions. • Rails 3 render :partials

    - by user297221
    Hi guys. I am migrating my 1.8.7 rails app to rails 3. But I have a problem with a partial: I have the following partial: in my cms controller : @clients = Client.all group = render_to_string :layout = 'layouts/window', :partial = 'clients/index' in my "clients/index" partial: <%= render :partial = 'clients/item', :collection = @clients % This worked great with rails 1.7.8 but with rails 3 only the partial in the index get's rendered!. So, to clarify this, the group variable in the controller doesn't get the html from the layout. Also the weird thing is that the window layout is _window.erb (if I do window.html.erb or just window.erb rails can't find it which is strange). Does anybody know if this behavior is normal for rails 3? thanxs!

  • How to use PHP fgetcsv to create an array for each piece of data in csv file?

    - by Olivia
    I'm trying to import data from a csv file to some html code to use it in a graph I have already coded. I'm trying to use PHP and fgetcsv to create arrays for each separate piece of data to use PHP to put it into the html code. I know how to open the csv file and to print it using PHP, and how to print each separate row, but not each piece of data separated by a comma. Is there a way to do this? If this helps, this is the csv data I am trying to import. May 10,72,12,60 May 11,86,24,62 May 12,67,32,34 May 13,87,12,75 May 14,112,23,89 May 17,69,21,48 May 18,98,14,84 May 19,115,18,97 May 20,101,13,88 May 21,107,32,75 I hope that makes sense.

  • Is SEO affected negatively by having densely encoded identifiers of content in URLs?

    - by casperOne
    This isn't about where to put the id of a piece of unique content in URLs, but more about densely packing the URL (or, does it just not matter). Take for example, a hypothetical post in a blog: http://tempuri.org/123456789/seo-friendly-title The ID that uniquely identifies this is 123456789. This corresponds to a look-up and is the direct key in the underlying data store. However, I could encode that in say, hexadecimal, like so: http://tempuri.org/75bcd15/seo-friendly-title And that would be shorter. One could take it even further and have more compact encodings; since URLs are case sensitive, one could imagine an encoding that uses numbers, lowercase and uppercase letters, for a base of 62 (26 upper case + 26 lower case + 10 digits): 0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz For a resulting URL of: http://tempuri.org/8M0kX/seo-friendly-title The question is, does densely packing the ID of the content (the requirement is that an ID is mandatory for look-ups) have a negative impact on SEO (and dare I ask, might it have any positive impact), or is it just not worth the time? Note that this is not for a URL shortening service, so saving space in the URL for browser limitation purposes is not an issue.

  • ajax Post data missing with tinyMCE on Firefox

    - by Freeman
    I have a problem with my form when I try to submit with ajax. I am using Malsup Form plugin for Jquery but also using tinyMCE editor. When I submit the form and check the $_POST array, there is no data from the textarea. I have tried to use the triggerSave() function but to no avail. Everything is working well in IE. // These options are common and will be used for many form submissions var options = { target: '#notice', // target element(s) to be updated with server response dataType:'html', resetForm:true, beforeSubmit: function(){tinyMCE.triggerSave(false,true); }, success:function(msg){ $('#notice').html( msg) refresh(3) } }; //prepare form $('#savetext').ajaxForm(options);

  • Global jQuery dialog variable not working properly

    When I call the function, the dialog does work. If I move the dialog construction into the showtimes_list function, everything works fine. I thought that variables declared outside a function were global in context? var dialog_list = $("<div></div>").dialog({ autoOpen: false, modal: true, height: 300, width: 720, }); function showtimes_list(sid){ dialog_list.html(""); $.get("ajax_showtimes.php?sid="+sid, function(data){ dialog_list.html(data); } ); dialog_list.dialog("open"); }
