• Transactions not working for SubSonic under Oracle?

  The following code sample works perfectly under SQL Server 2005: using (TransactionScope ts = new TransactionScope()) { using (SharedDbConnectionScope scope = new SharedDbConnectionScope()) { MyTable t = new MyTable(); t.Name = "Test"; t.Comments = "Comments 123"; t.Save(); ts.Complete(); } } But under Oracle 10g it throws a "ORA-02089: COMMIT is not allowed in a subordinate session" error. If I only execute the code inside the SharedDbConnectionScope block then everything works OK, but obviously I won't be able to execute operations under a transaction, thus risking data corruption. This is only a small sample of what my real application does. I'm not sure as to what may be causing this behavior; anyone out there care to shed some light on this issue please?   Hi! When i try to register a person with the name Eric for example, and then again registrating Eric it works. This should not happen with the code i have. Eric should not be registrated if theres already an Eric in the list. • Why is MonoDevelop compiling with csc.exe?

  I am trying to use MonoDevelop (2.4 beta 1) on Windows (7 x64) in order to test a .NET application on Mono (2.6.4). For some reason MonoDevelop is not using the Mono tool chain to build the application. It compiles it with the Microsoft tool chain - C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\csc.exe. The project I am trying to build is a simple ASP.NET MVC application generated from the "New ASP.NET MVC application" template. The "Runtime Version" dropdown in Project \Options-Build-General shows "MONO/.NET 35". What gives? Is there a way to change the .NET tool chain?

• jquery-Ajax call on tornado handlers waits for pervious ajax call to return

  Hey All. I recently started testing TornadoWeb for a home-project, which uses jquery getJSON function to call my tornado handlers. And found something strange, which i seek an explanation for. I fire an ajax request for Handler1 on tornado, and in some cases request for Handler2 is initiated before Handler1 returns. It appears from development-server logs, and firebug console-debugging, that Handler2 request waits for Handler1 request to finish, and then return. So basically, XHR call is waiting for earlier XHRs. They are supposed to be asynchronous/non-blocking right?? Or am i missing something. You can check the test-case environment called testtornado at http://github.com/harshh/Harsh-Projects/ with main.py as server triggering file. I would appreciate help from anyone who can throw some light on this.

• How to set my .apk file to run on different screen resolution in android?

  I am using a "WVGA800" for my app. I try to run it on different resolution screens. It it is not perfectly scratching in that resolution . I read and implement issues form this link. http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html But still not result. Please let me know if any one hase a perfect solution. Main issue are that I am fixing hight & width of Image, textsize etc. When these are displayed to screen of "WVGA800". But when I test them on "HVGA", "QVGA" then problem arise. I want to avoid the "if else" conditions by getting the screen resolution at Runtime. If any one hase any solution for this...let me know. Thanks in advance. I am also wondring when there will be new devices with new screen resolutions?

• Setting classpath java for use in Runtime.exec

  I am trying to spawn a process using Runtime.exec. I want to use my current classpath : System.getProperty("java.class.path") Unfortunately, I am having all kinds of issues. When it works on my mac, it doesn't work on Windows. And doesn't work on my mac ever when there is a space in the classpath. • serving large file using select, epoll or kqueue

  Nginx uses epoll, or other multiplexing techniques(select) for its handling multiple clients, i.e it does not spawn a new thread for every request unlike apache. I tried to replicate the same in my own test program using select. I could accept connections from multiple client by creating a non-blocking socket and using select to decide which client to serve. My program would simply echo their data back to them .It works fine for small data transfers (some bytes per client) The problem occurs when I need to send a large file over a connection to the client. Since i have only one thread to serve all client till the time I am finished reading the file and writing it over to the socket i cannot resume serving other client. Is there a known solution to this problem, or is it best to create a thread for every such request ?

• gcc linking shared libraries with dependent libraries

  I have a complicated project with multiple executable targets and multiple shared libraries. The shared libraries currently don't have their dependent shared libraries linked in, and the result is that linker arguments to build the executables are hideously long and hard to maintain. I'd like to add in the dependencies so the Makefiles become much cleaner. I want to add the following (example): gcc -shared -o libshared.so -lshared_dependent1 -lshared_dependent2 objfile1.o objfile2.o Is there a way to test if all the symbols in libshared.so will resolve based on that line? Is there a way to print out if any of the shared_dependent libraries specified were unnecessary? Thanks in advance.

  Hallo all. I got a strange problem with this piece of code Seleziona text 1 test 2 The correct behaviour is that with this html the selected option is the "Seleziona" On some browser when i render this html the first option is blank and if I select the value jQuery("#nazioni").val() I got null value. Where is the problem? With the select option in this state I cannot set any values via jquery or via any other plugin. jQuery("#nazioni option:first").attr("selected", "selected"); does not work. I tried to use the textotela plugin (http://www.texotela.co.uk/code/jquery/select/) but if i remove the first option in this way jQuery("#nazioni).removeOption(0) it removes the "Seleziona" value. • Why doesn't my Perl code work when I put it in a foreach loop?

• is it possible to issue dynamic include in asp-classic?

  I mean, like php'h include... something like my_file_to_be_included = "include_me.asp" -- for what I've seen so far, there are a couple of alternatives, but every one of them has some sort of shortcoming... what I'm trying to figure out is how to make a flexible template system... without having to statically include the whole thing in a single file with a loooooong case statement... here there are a couple of links a solution using FileSysmemObject, just lets you include static pages idem yet another one same thing from adobe this approach uses Server.Execute but it has some shortcomings I'd like to avoid... seems like (haven't tried yet) Server.Execute code runs in another context, so you can't use it to load a functions your are planning to use in the caller code... nasty... same thing I think this one is the same this looks promising!!! I'm not sure about it (couldn't test it yet) but it seems like this one dinamycally handles the page to a SSDI component... any idea???

  Hi I'm used to editing sites locally on my MAMP to test out changes before going live. In this case though the site has a SSL certificate and wants to use it when I go to admin. So I can't go to admin. The error message says: (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) It's a Joomla site I'm trying to log into locally ie: http://localhost:8888/site/administrator/ I've tried https as well, but same thing. Also same thing is Safari. I just need to turn off ssl, it must be a file somewhere in the site I downloaded.

• ANTLR parser hanging at proxy.handshake call

  I am attempting to get a basic ECMAScript parser working, and found a complete ANTLR grammar for ECMAScript 3, which appears to compile ok and produces the appropriate Lexer/Parser/Walker Java files. (Running inside ANTLR IDE plugin for Eclipse 3.5) However, when actually trying to use it with some simple test code (following guide on ANTLR wiki), it just hangs when trying to create the parser: CharStream MyChars = new ANTLRFileStream(FileName); // FileName is valid ES3Lexer MyLexer = new ES3Lexer(MyChars); CommonTokenStream MyTokens = new CommonTokenStream(MyLexer); MyTokens.setTokenSource(MyLexer); ES3Parser MyParser = new ES3Parser( MyTokens ); // hangs here ES3Parser.program_return MyReturn = MyParser.program(); I've tracked down the problem to inside the ES3Parser constructor, where it's calling the function proxy.handshake() - before this line I can successfully do System.out.println("text") but after it I get nothing. So, how do I go about finding out why it's hanging, and stopping it - or even just bypassing this section (can/should I disable debugging?) - so long as that lets it work and allows me to get on with doing useful stuff.

The DisplayName is working correctly, but for some reason the ShowForEdit value it not having any effect. • SQL Server 2000 incorrect message: duplicate key with unique index

  Database server: SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 - SP3 - Standard Edition I have a table with 5 columns, in which I want to add a large (300.000) number of records. There is a unique index on the combination of two columns. If I add the records with this unique index in place, SQL Server gives this error message: Msg 2601, Level 14, State 3, Line 1 Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'TESTTABLE' with unique index 'test'. The statement has been terminated. (0 row(s) affected) However, if I delete the unique index and then add the records, I do not get any error when I create this unique index afterwards.

  Hi there, I'm using extjs and just trying to solve a simple problem: I have a form with a fixed width. I want to Center this form within a normal Ext.Panel. I'm trying to achieve this the 'css-way' - setting the left and right margin to 'auto'. But this doesn' work, it seems the margins are just ignored.
