• MySQL password changed every other day in windows?

  Every morning when I check server status,I will find MySQL's password is changed: mysql -uuser -ppassword will report ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'user'@'localhost' (using password: YES) And then I restart server,and when it's up,MySQL will be back to normal. It has now become a routinely job. What can be the cause for this? How can I know what's exactly happening to MySQL? • vyatta Server Reboots by itself

  I have an issue regarding some hardware, maybe you can help me. First, I set up a Supermicro Superserver SYS-5016I-NTF with a Intel Xeon X3470 and 4 GB of Ram with a Hotlava Card Tambora 64G4 with Intel Chipset 82599EB and 4x10G SPF+ ports. Installed Vyatta community edition 6.3. I used it as router making BGP connections with 2 operators. No load at all, temp ranges normal. But the issue is that it reboots by itself in a ramdom way. Not very often, once every few days. But it is unacceptable for production purposes. So I try to test on different hardware, and installed Vyatta community edition 6.3 on a Dell PowerEdge 2950, with Xeon(R) E5345 @ 2.33GHz and 4 GB of Ram. Same Vyatta configuration as Supermicro Server. With same hotlava Card model ( I bought two of them ) Well I have reboots with this equipment as well. Same frecuency as above. I have checked syslog no strange logs until boot process starts to be logged. So it seems server reboot suddenly. I have installed latest driver for the chipset of the Hotlava card. Servers are placed in a datacenter with UPS So finally two things in common in both servers: Hotlava Card. Someone with issues with this card, or the chipset?? Could be it this card?? Vyatta 6.3 community edition. I don't thing is the problem. Is a regular Debian with packages to glue together different services. Or maybe is something I am missing. Andy ideas, suggestions??   I have HP proliant ML 350 servers. We have 8 remote locations where users connect and log on to our server through DYNDNS to access our company ERP's to conduct day to day work. The base of our company ERP's is oracle for which we have a separate server.Now the problem is day by day the load on the server is increasing and the speed is getting slower and slower and users are facing a lot of issues . so I are planning to implement Sonic wall VPN. I conducted a demo of sonic wall but it was slower than the current speed of dyndns. the configuration of my server is as follows :- Linux HP ProLiant 370 Intel Xenon 3.20 GHZ 150 GB (72 * 2) 3 GB Suse Omega HP ProLiant 370 Intel Xenon 3.20 GHZ 300GB (72.8 * 4) Raid 5 4 GB Windows Server 2K3 Enterprise Edition Storage Box HP Storage Works 1400 Intel Xenon 2.00 GHZ 4 TB(1 TB * 4) Raid 5 2 GB Windows Server 2K8 Enterprise Edition Domain & Terminal HP ProLiant 350 Intel Xenon 3.20 GHZ 250 GB(72.8 * 3) Raid 5 4 GB Windows Server 2K3 Enterprise Edition Can some one help me as to how can i speed up my network at remote locations and reduce the problems of speed etc..

• Active Directory FRS problems. 13508 error and other problems

  I have 3 Domain Controllers. We will call them DC1, DC2 and DC3. DC3 and DC2 show Event ID 13508 in their FRS logs with no follow-up event(13509 I think) to say the error had been fixed. DC1's FRS log no matter what you do never shows any events besides FRS service stopped and started. DC1 holds the SYSVOL that needs to be replicated to the other DC's. The other DC's sysvol folders are empty. I have tried the burflag method of fixing this but I haven't had any luck. My procedure for that was to stop all FRS services on all DC's. Then set the burflag on DC1 to D4 and the other two DCs burflag to D2. Started FRS on DC1 and the only event's I see in DC1's FRS event logs are service stopped and service started messages. This fact is leading me to believe that something is wrong on FRS for DC1. I believe there should be events 13553 and 13516 in the FRS event logs after an authoritative sysvol restore. The other two DC's do not have anything in their SYSVOL, otherwise I would have made one of them the authoritative sysvol. DC1 is MS Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 DC2 is MS Server 2003 Standard Edition SP1 DC3 is MS Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP2 I did not setup this domain originally but I am now the administrator of it, so I don't have a lot of background on why certain things may have been done in the past. My main goal is to try and fix these issues to get myself better prepared to decommision DC1 and add a DC running Server 2008 to my domain. Thanks.

• mysqld-nt.exe exist in task list, but actually it's not running?

  mysqld-nt.exe is showing in the task manager, but I cannot connect to it. I tried: telnet localhost 3306 And it fails to connect. So I restarted the server,and it's ok. This happens every day. Any ideas? • Forbidden Patterns Check-In Policy in TFS 2010

  I've been trying to use the Forbidden Patterns part of the TFS 2010 Power Tools and I'm just not understanding something - I simply cannot get anything to change as I try to use this! I'm using the version that was released recently (I believe April 23, 2010), so it's not an old version. First off, yes, I know it's regex based, so let's clear that doubt... I have tried to block the following scenarios: 1) I have modified all of my T4 EF templates to generate files named EntityName.gen.cs. I then attempted to prevent TFS from wanting to check those files in. I used the regular expression \.gen\.cs\z and it didn't change a single thing! I even tried it without the \z and nadda! 2) I don't want app.config and web.config files to be checked-in by default because we have these things stored into app.config.base and web.config.base files that our build scripts use to generate our per-environment app.config and web.config files. As such, I tried the following regexes and again, nothing worked! web\.config\z, app\.config\z, web\.release\.config\z and web\.debug\.config\z. What is it that I am screwing up with this?

  Hi, We have a web application, running in an application pool as 'NETWORK SERVICE'. The web application connects to a service (.svc) on another web server. The other web server also has the service hosted as 'NETWORK SERVICE'. I believe this is the default. The following endpoint, when run anywhere else works perfectly. <endpoint address="http://server123/UnitTrustService/UnitTrustService.svc" binding="wsHttpBinding" bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_UnitTrustService" contract="UnitTrustServiceReference.UnitTrustService" name="WSHttpBinding_UnitTrustService"> <identity> <servicePrincipalName value="server123" /> </identity> </endpoint> Unfortunately when executed from the web site, we get the following error. System.ServiceModel.Security.MessageSecurityException: The identity check failed for the outgoing message. The expected identity is 'identity(http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/right/possessproperty: http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/upn)' for the 'http://server123/UnitTrustService/UnitTrustService.svc' target endpoint. • Webservice Connection Refused

  I have developed a web app using a webservice. Everything works fine in the development environment. I have moved the webservice to the production server in a test folder behind my main website. I can browse to the published service localy on the production server and i can access the remote service from my development machine. If I run my web app in my development environment I can use the remote webservice no problem. If I move the web application to the production environment the browser outputs this error when the application performs the ajax login method.   Im developing a web user interface for MATLAB functions with ASP.NET. Ive started with studying demos and stucked with such problem. I created a MyComponent.dll assembly with deploytool from MATLAB 2010a, target framework - 3.5. This component has one function GetKnot() which returns a figure. function df = getKnot() f = figure('Visible', 'off'); knot; df = webfigure(f); close(f); end Then I made simple webapp in visual studio 2008 sp1, with only one page Default.aspx. I added references to MWArray.dll, WebFiguresService.dll and MyComponent.dll. The codeBehind is: using System; using System.Web; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using MyComponent; using MathWorks.MATLAB.NET.WebFigures; namespace MATLAB_WebApplication { public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { var myComponentClass = new MyComponentClass(); var x = myComponentClass.getKnot(); //WebFigureControl1.WebFigure = new WebFigure(); } } } When I run this page on Visual Studio`s Development web server - everything is fine, figure works. But when I`m trying to deploy webfigure on my local iis 7.5 which runs on Win7 x32 - iis app pool crashes. There is an entry in System Event Log "A process serving application pool 'Classic .NET AppPool' suffered a fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation Service. The process id was '3676'. The data field contains the error number 6D000780". This happens when MyComponent is instantiating. What I could forget when moved to IIS? Other examples, like magic square console application, runs perfect, and every matlab component instantiating, but not in IIS environment.

• MVC ASP.NET, ObjectContext and Ajax. Weird Behaviour

  Hi, i've been creating a web application in mvc asp.net. I have three different project/solutions. One solution contains the model in EF (DAL) and all the methods to add, update, delete and query the objects in the model, the objectcontext is managed here in a per request basis. Other solution contains a content management system in wich authorized users insert, delete, update and access objects through the DAL mentioned before. And the last solution contains the web page that is accessed by all users and where the only operations executed are selects, no update, inserts or deletes here. All the selects are executed against the DAL mentioned before (the first solution). The problem here is that i'm not sure whether an HttpContext lifespan ObjectContext is the best solution. I have a lot of ajax calls in my web app and i'm not sure if an httpcontext could interfere with the performance of the application. I've been noticed that in some cases, specially when someone is working in the content manager inserting, updating or deleting, when you try to click on any link of the user web application (the web app that is accessed by any user - the third one that i mentioned before) the web page freezes and it remains stucked transferring data. In order to stop that behaviour you have to stop and refresh or click several times on the link. Excuse me for my bad english. I hope you could understand and could help me to solve this issue.   I have the following log4j config setup for my Web app which is being deployed to Tomcat: # Set root logger level to DEBUG and its only appender to A1. log4j.rootLogger=INFO, A1 # A1 is set to be a ConsoleAppender. log4j.appender.A1=org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender # A1 uses PatternLayout. log4j.appender.A1.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout log4j.appender.A1.layout.ConversionPattern=%m%n log4j.logger.org.hibernate=WARN log4j.logger.org.apache=WARN And it is being picked up by the Log4J as modifying the ConversionPattern affects the logs printed to the console. • How do you remove a site from Sharepoint Designer?

  I would like to use Sharepoint Designer 2007 as an html editor. I have a web site with a lot of files in a folder on my hard drive. I do not want Sharepoint Designer to make a web site out of this. I just want to use Sharepoint Designer to edit the html files, locally. If I ever make a mistake and click on a tool for Sites, such as summary or report, Sharepoint Designer will decide that my folder is now a web site. From that point on, Sharepoint Designer is painfully slow whenever I open a file contained in the folder that Sharepoint decided is my web site, instead of being instantaneous like it was before. I can resolve this situation by renaming the folder containing my web site -- everything gets fast again. I can also fix it by uninstalling and reinstalling Sharepoint Designer. Neither of these is a good solution. Is there a place in Sharepoint Designer, or in application data or the registry that I can kill off the Sharepoint Designer web site that's associated with a folder on my hard drive?

• Intern working for Indian NGO - Help with PHP 4, advising staff

  Hello, For the past three months I've been working for an Indian NGO (http://sevamandir.org), doing some volunteer work in the field but also trying to improve their website, which needs a ton of work. Recently I've been trying to fix the "subscribe to newsletter" button, which is broken. I used filter_var to filter the email input, but when I tried to test this out I got an error. Then I learned that the web host is still using php version 4.3.2 and register_globals is turned on. I've mentioned that they should upgrade their web host before (they are paying around $50 per year for Rediff Web Hosting, complete with 100MB storage and 1 MySQL database). That would add a lot of complexity for the IT staff of 3, who would have to update everyone's email information (I assume? this is a 250-person organization), and have me find a new web host and teach them about it. The staff isn't that sophisticated about web usage - the head guy still uses IE6, and the website's laid out in tables (they use Dreamweaver WYSIWYG to lay out pages). So I've got two options - use regular expressions to filter the email, which I'm not that skilled at doing (and would be more vulnerable to exploitation after I leave), turn off register globals and then try to teach the staff what I'm doing, or try to get them to upgrade their versions of PHP and MySQL and/or change web host. • Publishing my Website to my Local Disk Causes Exceptions to show Paths including my Local Disk

  I've published my website many times. But didn't think about this though until I came across this issue. So I decided to publish my WAP project to a local folder on my C drive first. Then used FTP to upload it to my shared host on discountasp.net. I noticed during runtime that the stack trace was referencing that local folder still and erroring out. Anyone know what config settings are affected when publishing? Obviously something is still pointing to my local C drive and I've searched my entire solution and don't see why. • How to solve concurrency problems in ASP.NET Windows-Workflow and ActiveRecord/NHibernate?

  I have found that ActiveRecord uses the Session-Scope object within the ASP.NET application and that if the web-site is read-write we can have a tug-o-war between the Workflow's own Data-Access SessionScope and that of the ASP.NET site. I would really like to have the WindowsWorkflow Runtime use the same object session as the web-site however, they have different lifetimes. Sometimes, a web-request may save a very simple piece of data which would execute quickly however, if the web-site kicks off a workflow process.. how can that workflow make data-modifications while still allowing the Appliaction_EndRequest to dispose the ASP.NET SessionScope ... it's like ownership of the SessionScope should be shared between the workflow runtime and the ASP.NET website. Manual Workflow Scheduler may be the Savior... if a workflow is synchronous and merely uses CallExternalMethod to interact with the Host then we could constrain all the data-access to the host.. then the sessionScope can exist once. This however, won't solve the problem of a delay activity... if this delay fires, we could need to update data... in this case we'd need an isolated Session Scope and concurrency may arise. This however, differs from SharePoint workflows where it seems that the SharePoint workflow can save data from the web and the workflow and that concurrency is handled through other means. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to allow the workflow to manage data and play nice with ASP.NET web sites?

• C# debugging issue: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame.

  Hi - I'm trying to step into a method referenced in an external dll from a C# web service dll. I'm developing the web service code and can step into it from my Winforms app. The dll I'm trying to step into from the web service was developed by someone else, and I have the dll and pdb files. When I try to step into it I'm getting the message below: 'No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed'. Here is my project setup: .NET 3.5, VS 2008 Professional, IIS 7 running on Vista Ultimate Winforms app WF1.exe, referencing web service dll WS1.dll, in 1 solution on my machine Database access dll DA1.dll compiled by another developer, referenced by WS1.dll DA1.dll and DA1.pdb files located in root directory of WS1 web service project WS1 web service compiled and published to my local IIS, DA1.dll and DA1.pdb files get copied to the IIS WS1 bin directory So far so good and everything works to a point. I break and step into WF1.exe then break and step into a method on WS1.dll no problems. However when I try to step into a method on DA1.dll the error occurs. Any help appreciated. Cheers, Ciaran

• UnsupportedEncodingException thrown when using Resin and Grails

  I've encountered a strange problem in a Grails webapp running under Grails: java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException is thrown quite frequently due to various unknown encoding strings (such as "ISO8859_10", "ISO-8859-10"), and the strange thing is that this is done entirely within the Resin and Grails code. That is - no custom code is involved when the exception is thrown. I'm not sure if it is Grails or the servlet container's code that should handle the exception. But I'd assume that the exception should be handled somewhere and not bubble up all the way to stderr. • Create a strongly typed view which inherites a class which is concrete

  Hello All: I am having one class called BaseClass which contains some logic applicable to whole web site. In order to create a strongly typed view we need to inherit the page from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage generic class. But In our case I have to Inherit the BaseClass from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage to apply some common settings, but the BaseClass should be inherited from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage< generic version. But I cannot inherit the BaseClass from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage< as it will change other class also. So I created one more class of type BaseClass< inheriting it from System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage< and copied the whole code of BaseClass in BaseClass<. But the code in BaseClass is controlled by other team so it will be changed frequently so my BaseClass< should be in sync with BaseClass. Please help me in eliminating the code duplication or any other approach to make strongly typed View. Thanks Ashwani

  Eclipse STS is reporting I have problem with my spring project. It's a fresh project generated from the Spring Web MVC Project Template (File-New-Spring Template Project-Spring Web MVC ). When I create the project it has no problems - it's only once I modify the pom (by adding the hibernate dependencies) that STS then picks up the spring problem. Strangely if I revert the pom the problem remains. Also I can run the project on a spring tc server and all works correctly. Any ideas how I can satisfy this problem report?   I create a simple webapp using tomcat 6, spring 2.5.6 and maven. The problem is when I boot up tomcat, I am getting the following errors: SEVERE: StandardWrapper.Throwable java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/springframework/ui/ModelMap ... Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.springframework.ui.ModelMap The ModelMap class does exist in spring-2.5.6.jar and spring-context-2.5.6.jar, I also have some other spring jars. All of them are being deployed to tomcat correctly, when I check the application WEB-INF (deployed to tomcat) I found all those jars there! I have only one @Controller that has a @RequestMapping("/home.htm") showForm(ModelMap model) method.
