• Changing Clickonce source folder

  We copy our production build in a separate folder using post-build events, and replace the app.config file with our production app.config. However Clickonce reads the files in bin\Release folder. I have also tried copying all files from our custom build location to bin\Release folder in the post-build event, but app.config is still overridden (I guess clickonce re-builds the project into bin\Release). Is it possible to tell Clickonce to read from our custom folder? Or, if that's not the right way to go, how do you handle this kind of situation?

• Best means to store data locally when offline

  I am in the midst of writing a small program (more to experiment with vs 2010 than anything else) Despite being an experiment it has some practical use for our local athletics club. My thought was to access the DB (currently online) to download the current members and store locally on a laptop (this is a MS sql table, used to power the club's website). take the laptop to the event (yes there ARE places that don't have internet coverage), add members to that days race (also a row from a sql table (though no changes would be made to this), record results (new records in 3rd table) Once home, showered and within internet access again, upload/edit the tables as per the race results/member changes etc. So I was thinking i'd do something like write xml files locally with the data, including a field to indicate changes etc? If anyone can point me in a direction i would appreciate it...hell if anyone could tell me if this has a name, I'd appreciate it.

• Prevent ASP.NET from encoding strings on output

  How can I stop ASP.Net from encoding anchor tags in List Items when the page renders? I have a collection of objects. Each object has a link property. I did a foreach and tried to output the links in a BulletedList, but ASP encoded all the links. Any idea? Thanks! Here's the offending snippet of code.   Hello, I am trying to intercept calls to document.write for all pages. Setting up the interception inside the page by injecting a script like function overrideDocWrite() { alert("Override called"); document.write = function(w) { return function(s) { alert("special dom"); w.call(this, wrapString(s)); }; }(document.write); alert("Override finished"); } is easy and works, but i would like my extension to setup the interception for each document object from inside the extension. I couldn't find a way to do this. I tried to listen for the "load" event and set up the interception there but it also fails. How do I hook calls to doc.write from an extension?

• Self Executing jQuery Plugin?

  I am working on expansion of my jQuery plug-in authoring knowledge, just playing around with my own ideas for learning benefits. So i was wondering how you guys tackle the need of plugin executing without any user specific input. So I have a need for plug-in that executes right away after document is ready, without any user's specific input just as long as doc is loaded, so the only way I see how to execute plug-in on it's own is to attach handler to ready listener that executes my function which I extended the jQuery with. And because this needs to be self enclosed, part of the code, I attach handler to event listener within the function. So how else could one tackle this? Any take at this is appreciated.   I have an asp:calendar on my view page and as I hover over it..it shows a javascript postback status bar. but I have an asp:button also on the same page and when I hover over it. The action from the controller is in the status bar..because I have an onClick attribute for the button that triggers an action on the server side. and in the asp:calendar I also have a trigger event OnSelectionChanged the has a method on the server side...but as I said when I hover over the calendar to pick a date in the status bar it shows:javascript:_doPostBack($ct100ContentPlaceHolder?mycalendar',''3270) and when I click a date I receive an error that says object doesnt support this method..Also mycalendar is the id name of the asp:calendar

  I hava a Background Worker and a DataGrid in my c# Application. In do work of my Backgroundworker which will call an Api in my dlls which will enter some Data in a SQLite Database. After the Completion of my Api call I report a progress and In progress event of my Backgroundworker I get the contents from Db and assign it as a DataSource to my grid. I call same API in same backgroundworker. In the middle of processing my application crashes. But If I dont assign the dataSource in ProgressChanged my application doesnt crashes.

  I cannot get jquery's ajaxSend (http://api.jquery.com/ajaxSend/) to properly modify the parameters. Logging settings inside ajaxSend shows me that they are set to settings.data: "remote=1&authenticity_token=6GA9R_snip_253D&random=1270584905846&_method=get" but when it gets sent across the wire, I only have the following: authenticity_token 6GA9R_snip_253D remote 1 Why in the world is this not working?

  I have a Flex app with a viewport that loads a series of other swfs. I would like to place a context menu over top of the SWFs when the user right-clicks. To that end, I have set up a fairly standard context menu where each item has a ContextMenuEvent.MENU_ITEM_SELECT event handler. One problem: The eventHandler never gets called. If I place the context-menu code anywhere else in the app, i.e. not on top of a loaded SWF, everything works fine. However, when I place the exact same code on the SWF viewport, the context menu items appear, but the eventHandlers are never called. Any ideas?

I need to display the average and maximum wait times. How can I take the entire list of time from the server and get the average time? • How to get notified when a folder is accessed?

  I have a shared folder on my local machine. I want to get notified every time someone tries to access it. Could someone give me some hint on this? I have checked the FileSystemWatcher class, it only provides events for change/creation/delete/rename of the contents under the folder, which is not exactly what I want. • How can I tell what events fire from GXT?

  I cannot seem to find any documentation of what events fire and when in GXT. The API docs have lists of all the events that could fire (in Events). And it describes how to handle events that you catch. But I'm interested in the opposite side, which events are fired when I take a certain action. I can set some listeners for various different components, or I can use addListener with a specific event code to catch individual events. That's spotty, and I seem to be using trial-and-error to guess what I might want to catch. Is there a way to log all the events that are firing? Or catch all of them so I could look at them in a debugger? Or is there some documentation I am missing that has the information? Something along the lines of "when you click on a widget, a ButtonEvent is fired. Events.x is fired on the hover, Events.y on the click."

• Determine if javascript has completed.

  My question is somewhat similar to this one. We want to know if there's a way to determine if all javascript has completed (so no javascript is running). We have a lot of stuff that runs on a timeout after the page's onload event, so even after the page is loading, stuff could be happening for a few seconds. For a whole bunch of reasons, mostly relating to requirements from management, we need to know when all of these scripts have finished running. There's an arbitrary number of them so a general solution would be great.
