• New line or Carraige Return syntax problems

  Im pretty new to coding, heres my problem. Results->Text = "G55 > Y" + System::Convert::ToString(destY); "Results" is a System.Windows.Forms.Textbox "multiline btw", or so says VS. That line works fine, but i need a "new line or CR" at the end, so that i can repeat that line with different Literals and a different var in ToString. For days now ive tried different syntax's ive read about, and i cant get it to take any of them. Or even a complete different way to input text into Results-Text that would allow for tidy multiline use. Sidenote: since im using -Text and System::Convert::ToString in VC, would this code be considered just c++ or .net or CLI? to tighten my searches.

  I've got an object creation form that's somewhat complicated, it contains a few dynamic formsets etc. I'm trying to ensure that these dynamic formsets are intact if the form runs into an error and returns you to the given page. In cases like this, the refresh button actually works well in re-submitting the request, but I can't rely on it. I'm doing some ad-hoc testing in the browser that I'd like to make a bit more repeatable, and eventually move to a unit test using Django's mock client. Is there an extension, or some convenient method to stash requests for later re-submission. The goal: I resubmit the request, tweak the code, eyeball the results, rinse and repeat. Three days later I can come back to it an try it again to make sure it's still working. The closest thing I can think of in this case is simply recording my activity with Selenium ide and replaying it.

• In JSF, how to handle repeating over a list that mutates

  Hello, In a JSF page, I am iterating over a list of items provided by a session-scoped backing bean. The list needs to be kept up-to-date, so it is replaced with a fresh list every X minutes by a thread (in a thread-safe way). On my page, for each item I provide some text inputs and an "Update" button. If the list is refreshed before I hit "Update", the update does not happen (which is my problem). I happen to be using a4j:repeat, but I think this could also apply to other methods of iteration, including using dataTables. Any thoughts on how I can do this in a non-hackish way? Thanks!

  I want to compare the type of an object to a type to see if they are the same. I do not have the object, just the type of the object. I can do type1 == type2 and get general equality I can have a recursive loop where I repeat the above step for type1.BaseType until the BaseType is null. I can do type1.GetInterface( type2.FullName ) != null to check if type2 is an interface of type1 If I put it all together, I get if ( type2.IsInterface ) return type1.GetInterface( type2.FullName ) != null; while ( type1 != null ) { if ( type1 == type2 ) return true; type1 = type1.BaseType; } return false; Is that all the is keyword is. I cannot find the right keyword to plug into the Reflector search to find the function and a google search on "is" was not really helpful

  I have a div with a background image that needs to be centered horizontally and vertically. On top of that image, I also want to display some text, also centered horizontally and vertically. I managed to get the image centered, but the text is not centered vertically. I thought vertical-align:middle would do the trick.   So, I can create an input button with an image using <INPUT type="image" src="/images/Btn.PNG" value=""> But, I can't get the same behavior using CSS. for instance, i've tried <INPUT type="image" class="myButton" value=""> where "myButton" is defined in the css file as .myButton{ background:url(/images/Btn.PNG) no-repeat; cursor:pointer; width: 200px; height: 100px; border: none; } If that's all I wanted to do, I could use the original style, but I want to change the button's appearance on hover (using a myButton:hover class). I know the links are good because I've been able to load them for a background image for other parts of the page (just as a check). I found examples on the web of how to do it using javascript, but I'm looking for a css solution. I'm using Firefox 3.0.3 if that makes a difference. Thanks

I have the image appear and the submit button disappear - but nothing happens when I click on the image. • Oversize cursor in Firefox form with textbox background image

  Hi all, I have a webform with background images on the textboxes to give them a nice rounded corner. In Chrome the textboxes work as expected, however, if I view the form in Firefox the cursor appears to size to the height of the image, but the text is a normal size. Is there a way to override this oversized cursor?   No matter what I do: <meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="Fri, 30 Apr 2010 11:12:01 GMT" /> <meta http-equiv="Expires" content="0" /> <HTTP-EQUIV="PRAGMA" CONTENT="NO-STORE" /> Google Chrome does not reload any page according to the page's internal cache policy if the page is displayed in a frame. It is as though the meta tags are not even there. Google Chrome seems to be ignoring these tags. Since I've gotten answers to this question on other forums where the person responding has ignored the operative condition, I will repeat it: this behavior occurs when the page is displayed in a frame. I was using the latest released version and have since upgraded to 5.0.375.29 beta but the behavior is the same in both versions. Would someone please care to confirm one way or another the behavior you are seeing with framesets and the caching/expiration policies given in meta tags? Thanks

• How to find validity of a string of parentheses, curly brackets and square brackets?

  I recently came in contact with this interesting problem. You are given a string containing just the characters '(', ')', '{', '}', '[' and ']', for example, "[{()}]", you need to write a function which will check validity of such an input string, function may be like this: bool isValid(char* s); these brackets have to close in the correct order, for example "()" and "()[]{}" are all valid but "(]", "([)]" and "{{{{" are not! I came out with following O(n) time and O(n) space complexity solution, which works fine: Maintain a stack of characters. Whenever you find opening braces '(', '{' OR '[' push it on the stack. Whenever you find closing braces ')', '}' OR ']' , check if top of stack is corresponding opening bracket, if yes, then pop the stack, else break the loop and return false. Repeat steps 2 - 3 until end of the string. This works, but can we optimize it for space, may be constant extra space, I understand that time complexity cannot be less than O(n) as we have to look at every character. So my question is can we solve this problem in O(1) space?

  Hey all, looking to see if theres a way to easily include external html file inside the body to repeat on every page, for instance: a navigator or something. Basically if i have to add a menu item or something, i have to go and paste all the code into each page. Or even a way to section parts off in Dreamweaver to update based on a file or something would work i suppose Ive done it before through JavaScript with document.writes and stuff, but it was very annoying, and probably a terrible way to go about doing so. thanks for your help!

• Running a method after the constructor of any derived class

  Let's say I have a Java class abstract class Base { abstract void init(); ... } and I know every derived class will have to call init() after it's constructed. I could, of course, simply call it in the derived classes' constructors: class Derived1 extends Base { Derived1() { ... init(); } } class Derived2 extends Base { Derived2() { ... init(); } } but this breaks "don't repeat yourself" principle rather badly (and there are going to be many subclasses of Base). Of course, the init() call can't go into the Base() constructor, since it would be executed too early. Any ideas how to bypass this problem? I would be quite happy to see a Scala solution, too.
