  I was trying to play the game Warzone 2100 and the games runs fine, with nice speed, but the screen stays with a horizontal lines "flickering"... My PC have a integrated GeForce Go 6100 vga. Ok, not a powerfull vga, but it's not the end of the world to run a "simple" game like this (compared with another games that ask you send your eyes to purchase a expensive vga). So, I think that the problem can be of the configuration of my machine. I use it in first instance for programming jobs, so I underpay attention to video setup. I would like about a checklist to know if my PC is "ready" to games. By example, I know that I need: Lastest vga drivers Updated DirectX and OpenGL What you suggest?   I am running linux based server (centos 6.0) with cpanle and WHM, I have critical website running with a chat server which uses a openfire as the chat server backend server, i have monitored last few weeks this service crashes quite often, i have no way of knowing that, and i have to wait till the next day to restart the server. (and this can only be fixed by using server reboot as its got to do with some java memory problem) is there a way i can setup a monitoring service to the server and if this service goes down server itself will reboot ? is this something possible or is there a better way to overcome this problem ?

  I have installed Galera Cluster on 3 cluster + 1 management. I wanted to make it like this, Server1: Home (www.domain.com) Server2: For BBpress/Forum (Forum Tab Menu will forward to forum.domain.com) Server3: BuddyPress Activity (Social Tab Menu will forward to social.domain.com) The purpose I am doing this is to distribute my resource and load balancing each other at same time. However, I have difficulty to setup Apache Load-Balancing/mod_proxy/clustering or any suitable to have high availability WordPress. Any best suggestion/solution to make high availability WordPress? Or how to? And another question is I tried to copy whole WordPress files & folders to Server2 connecting to local database (same data inside since it is already on Galera Cluster) but the page blank.   I am looking for a utility to move windows around on a multiscreen (usualy dual screen) setup. So with a keybord shortcut (or mousclick) I would like to send a windows to another monitor. I am using this functionality a lot when I give presentations. I'll lookup something on my mainscreen and then send the window to the screen or beamer where others can see it. Its also useful when working or when I want to send a screen from my computer to the TV screen that is hooked up to the computer. I know two solutions for a) Windows b) Mac OS but none yet for Linux. I'll post my windows and Mac OS solutions as answer and would be interested in other opinions.

  I have a CentOS 6 box with LVM setup and one of the PVs is a USB disk (I know). One of them is getting the error: Oct 30 10:57:07 alpha01 kernel: lost page write due to I/O error on dm-3 Oct 30 10:57:07 alpha01 kernel: Buffer I/O error on device dm-3, logical block 4 Which is causing problems with all of the LVs on it. pvs shows the PV as unknown device. I can ls to the logical volumes and they show up in lvdisplay, but first I get a bunch of IO errors. I made sure the cables are secure between the USB drive. What should I do to get this back up and running for the meanwhile? Should I unmount each LV and run an fsck.ext4 on each one like fsck.ext4 -y /dev/vg1/lv_logvolname ?

  Let me explain my szenario: I have a linux server A. A is reachable in a VPN. So if I am connected to the VPN over Internet I can successfully ping A. Server A is connected to a Router B. Router B has a local ipv6 address and there are resources (each of them with a local ipv6 address) connected to Router B. After I am connected to VPN, I am able to use ssh to have access over A. Now I can use the ping6 command to ping the Router B or one of its connected resources. This works fine. The ping fails if I try to ping router B on my computer. Overview: My Computer -- VPN -- Server A(ipv4) -- Router B(ipv6) -- Ressource A(ipv6) On resource A runs for example a HTTP-Server. My question is: How can I access Resource A (for example with HTTP) on my to VPN connected computer? Is it possible? Should I setup a tunnel device? Sorry for this inexpertly explanation, but I am new to network stuff!

I will need the ns1.example.com ns2.example.com to be pointed to my 2 powerdns server ip, and I need to use my dns server to set the ns1.example.com, ns2.example.com, so that my other products could also setup ns1.example.com as their dns server, so how to do this?Edit

  Programtically get the Wireless lan config of a machine and use netsh to setup new profile I am having trouble getting the netsh command to set the ssid of a new card. I installed the drivers and plugged it in. I see in ipconfig it says the "media is disconnected" (fair enough). I then send the following command netsh wlan connect name=profile1 ssid=myNetwork interface="Wireless Network Connection 2" problem is I get an error "There is no profile "profile1" assigned to the specified interface. What is a profile for a wireless card? What should I set it to? How Can I get my SSID set and connected for the card.

  I've setup git-http-backend on my vps server (CentOS), under one of its users. The apache user owns the git project root directory - /home/theuser/git/, as below: drwxrwxr-x 3 apache apache The apache user also owns everything inside that directory. But I'm still getting the following error in git when trying to push: error: unpack failed: unpack-objects abnormal exit The apache error log shows the following error: error: insufficient permission for adding an object to repository database ./objects I've tried every combination of user permissions and enabled read/write access, but not getting anywhere. Should the git user own this folder? Can someone explain exactly what user should own this folder, or what steps I might take to fix this problem?

  I have a Acer Aspire TimelineX 4830TG-6808 laptop running windows 7 Ultimate with one VGA port and one HDMI port. It has one Intel HD Graphics family card and one NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M. Right now I have one monitor running via the VGA port, and also the basic laptop monitor. When I look at the monitor setup, I see one unused video card available. Can I have another monitor via the HDMI port? If I cannot run three monitors, is there some way I could make a large "single" desktop that extends over two monitors? For the sake of celerity, maybe something like having a virtual machine window that extends over two monitors. Could this maybe come from third party software?

  What is the absolute, bare minimum, no-hassle, hopefully idiot-proof way of setting up a local smtp server? If you're going to say postfix, what are these alledgedly bare minimum, idiot proof steps to setting it up? I'm sort of amazed at how difficult it seems to find this anywhere. I need: a locally hosted smtp server that sends mail to the internet. no tls or saslauth or whatever. only allows mail to come from localhost. no relays. It seems like there should be some software package somewhere where you install, set up an account and then you have a local smtp server. I'm not a sysadmin. People say postfix is dead simple but maybe I'm doing it wrong, all the setup docs I see are quite complicated, I actually don't have a spare hour to spend debugging a mailserver. I just want to send mail to the internet. Is it really that hard?

  I'm looking to make a 6TB RAID 10 array from my new pile of drives under Windows XP 32-bit, however they are only for auxiliary storage. After adding all the drives to an array, and initializing them XP sees only a fraction of the storage, 2TB. I'm assuming this has to do with MBR vs GPT. Is making a series of 2TB volumes and then spanning my only solution? Most questions online have to do with booting from this setup, but I'm just using them as extra storage. Hardware: 4 x 3TB Hitachi Deskstars + RocketRaid 622 + Sans Digital TR8M TowerRAID. The array is connected via eSATA.

  I have the following code in VC++ Func5(){ StackWalk(); } Func4{ Func5();} I am a Beginner in x86 Assembly Language. I am trying to find out the starting address of Func5(). I get the Func5()'s return address from its stack frame. Now before this return address there should be a CALL statement. So I extract out the bytes before the return address. Sometimes it's a near call like E8 ff ff ff d8. So for this statement I subtract the offset 0x28 from the function's return address to get Func5()'s base address (where it resides in memory). The problem is I don't know how to calculate this for a indirect NEAR call. I have been trying to find out how to do it for some time now. So I have extracted out the first 5 bytes before the return address and they are ff 75 08 ff d2 I think this stands for CALL ECX (ff d2) but I am not sure. I will be very grateful if someone can tell me what kind of CALL statement this is and how I can calculate the function's base address from this kind of call.

  I am currently working on a client project where they are using a custom CMS which relies on having the specific domains configured for it to work properly. So in English, that means that when I try running the site on my test environment, the entire website fails because it isn't located on the primary domain (and I'm pretty sure the domain is hard coded since there's no control panel to adjust the file locations). Anyway what I wanted to ask is whether it is possible to use my test environment URL but have Apache and the DNS emulate my clients website URL locally, rather than calling the actual name servers. Right now I have a virtual host setup in Apache but I am not sure where to go from there. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

  We just got a IPv6 /48 range (a gateway and an IP address) for our company, but I'm unsure about how to set it up. We use FreeBSD 8.4 (pfSense 2.1) as a router/firewall. Currently we have IPv4 setup with a WAN towards the internet, and a NAT-ed LAN behind it for office PCs. We want to keep the LAN network for security, and we want IPv6 addresses from the /48 for all office PCs (without NAT). The WAN is configured with the IPv6 gateway 1111:2222:3333::1/48 and interface address 1111:2222:3333::2/48. But when it's configured this way, I guess it's impossible to fit the LAN on a /64 within the /48? I believe I should configure the WAN subnet on 1111:2222:3333:1::/64 and the LAN on a subnet like 1111:2222:3333:2::/64. Is this something I can configure myself, or do I have to ask the ISP to configure that routing for me?

• Bootcamp: setup of Windows 7 (64 bit) hanging at "disk.sys"

  I am having trouble getting Windows 7 Professional (64bit) to install on a Macbook Pro (late 2010 model). The installer hangs when loading the setup from disk. When restarting, I get an option to boot Windows from disk. The installer then starts loading files from disk and suddenly hangs. Using "Safe Mode" (from the advanced menu), it tells me that the installer hangs when loading "disk.sys". The installation is made on a fresh Bootcamp partition, the disk uses GPT. Has anyone seen this before and maybe found a solution?

  I am a software developer. I travel and sometimes have a need to access my files at home and tweak other family members computers. I would like to connect to my home network via VPN and then RDP into whatever machine i need to. Currently i have a Windows Server 08 machine, which is my file server, database server, web server (for development work), source control repository, etc. (and also somewhat of a workstation when i need it to be). I want to use this same machine to run my VPN through. I have a linksys WRTG54 router. My ISP is AT&T DSL, with a dynamic IP address - so i'm assuming I'll either need to request a static IP or sign up with one of those static ip services.. where it keeps your dynamic ip synced up with a static one. While I do understand software engineering I am no expert in networking. What do i need to do to setup my VPN?

  I have a web app that uses some backend servers (UNC, HTTP and SQL). To get this working I need to configure ServicePrincipalNames for the account running the IIS AppPool and then allow kerberos delegation to the backend services. I know how to configure this through the "Delegation" tab of the AD Users and Computers tool. However, the application is going to be deployed to a number of Active Directory environments. Configuring delegation manually has proved to be error prone and debugging the issues misconfiguration causes is time consuming. I'd like to create an installation script or program that can do this for me. Does anyone know how to script or programmatically set constrained delegation within AD? Failing that how can I script reading the allowed services for a user to validate that it has been setup correctly?

  How do I setup an IP alias on a bridge (br0) device on Ubuntu ? If I wait for br0 to come up and then do /sbin/ifconfig br0:0 192.168.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 then it works fine.   I have a jboss application server on machine1. The application address is http://ip-address:8080/webapp. I wanted to have only an ip pointing to the application. So on machine2 I setup an apache proxy. But it only helps to shift to port 80 but the directory webapp cannot be removed. So using proxy, the address is http://ip-address/webapp. So is there a way to just have the ip point to the application. For example the address http://ip-address should open the web page of the application.

  Hi, I tried to setup apache 2.2 in amazon aws using amazon ami. i did installed httpd and php and congirue http.conf to use /var/www/html. Then put file index.html on that folder. But when i tried to use browser to browse my domain which is ec2-122-248-255-181.ap-southeast-1.compute.amazonaws.com, nothing was loaded. I did start httpd by running apachectl start, and i can see it listening on port 80. Does anybody know what is wrong?

  I'd like to setup three virtual network interfaces (veth) which can communicate with each other. To simulate a three node cluster, each program then binds to one veth interface. I'd like to do it without LXC if possible. I tried using: Created three veth pairs: sudo ip link add type veth Created a bridge sudo brctl addbr br0 Added one of each pair to the bridge: sudo brctl addif br0 veth1 sudo brctl addif br0 veth3 sudo brctl addif br0 veth5 Configured the interfaces: sudo ifconfig veth0 10.0.0.201 netmask 255.255.255.0 up sudo ifconfig veth2 10.0.0.202 netmask 255.255.255.0 up sudo ifconfig veth4 10.0.0.203 netmask 255.255.255.0 up Then I verified if is works using: ping -I veth0 10.0.0.202 but it doesn't :( The I added IP addresses to the veth1,veth3,veth5 and br0 interfaces in the 10.0.1.x/24 range. But that doesn't help. Any ideas? or a guide, all I find in how to use it with LXC. Or am I trying something that isn't possible?

  I'm looking for a way that I can take say, a 200x200 pixel image and center it over a background that's 500x500 pixels. The background should be the color of the top-left corner of the 200x200 pixel image. I get the -gravity and -fill flags, but I'm having trouble finding a way to grab that top-left corners color to pass to the -fill flag.
