    I've currently got a ASP.NET MVC 2 application on .NET 3.5 and I want to migrate it over to the new .NET 4.0 with Visual Studio 2010. Reason being that it's always good to stay on top of these things - plus I really like the new automatic encoding with <%: %> and clean web.config :-) So, does anyone have any experience they could share? Looking for gotchas and the likes. I guess this could also apply to any ASP.NET Forms projects aswell. TIA, Charles

A small portion of my images are not being served from the asset host because they are displayed using the CSS background-image property rather than image_tag Is there are clean workaround for this?     Hello all, I have tried to use the UIPrerenderedIcon/"Icon already includes gloss and bevel" on the Info.plist of my app and it worked perfectly on the Simulator, but not on the real device (iPod touch 2g). I have found several programs that do have an SDK allowing you to convert .doc files to .pdf files, but they're all of the proprietary type, $2,000 a license or thereabouts. Does anyone know of any clean, inexpensive (preferably free) programmatic solution to my problem, using C# or VB.NET? Thanks!

    I need to clean up some file containing French text. Problem is that the files erroneously contain multiple encodings within the same file. I think some sections are ISO8859-1 (Latin 1) but other parts have text encoded in single byte characters that look like 'extended' ASCII. In other words, it is UTF-7 encoding plus the following: 0x82 for é (e acute) 0x8a for è (e grave) 0x88 for ê (e circumflex) 0x85 for à (a grave) 0x87 for ç (c cedilla) What encoding is this?

I could do self.apps.get(id=app_id).exists() and check if True or self.apps.get(id=app_id) and catch the ObjectDoesNotExist error or self.apps.filter(id=app_id) and check if True If I have to catch a possible ObjectDoesNotExist error, I may as well use the second one I can do the second but doesnt seem super clean can use the third one but using filter on a unique ID seems wrong to me You can tell me to use whatever works and that'll be a valid answer ;-)

    A bunch of classes doesn't comply to our naming conventions for private variables. Resharper shows this as a warning, but wants me to fix all of them by hand. Is there some magic option to auto-fix these issues? 'Clean-up code' won't do anything with this. Same goes for converting properties with backing fields to automatic properties when possible: the hint is shown, but Resharper won't fix it automatically.
