  Hi All, When I try to fetch around 20,000 records and return to ArrayList then it throws java heap space error. • PHP PDO bindValue() weird problem

The code as it is above doesn't work, it doesn't return anything so the while loop isn't executed. If I replace $_GET['index'] with a number, like 10, it works just fine, it returns 10 rows. Echoing $_GET['index'] displays a number, so it should pass a number. I've also tried bindParam, but the result is same. Why isn't this working?

  Is there a way getting all countries, states,cities zipcodes/ in one single database. I have been looking all over. I discovered geonames.org, which has I guess all of the content. But there is no way to fetch that data directly. I am using rails. If there any helpers or Plugins, it'd be great. It would be awesome if there is a complete resource in any parsable format which I can use to get this database in place. Please recommend if you any thanks I do have the iso country code list but no States for some countries. Thanks in advance

• SQL Server CLR Integration to acheive Encryption/Decryption

  I have a requirement to store the data in encrypted form in database tables. I want to do it at database level but the problems I am facing: ( a) Data Type of the field should be Varbinary. ( b) Encryption is not supported by Workgroup edition ( c) Is it possible to encrypt Numeric Fields? I want to access the encrypted data in tables to fetch in views and stored procedure for some processing but due to above problems I am not able to. Here is my Environment: Development Platform - ASP.Net,.Net Framework 3.5,Visual studio 2008 Server Operating System - Windows Server 2008 Database - SQL Server 2008 Work group edition I was also thinking to adopt a different approach to resolve this issue (yet to test it's feasibility). I was just wondering if I could create a CLR function (which could take parameters to encrypt and decrypt data using Cryptography types provided in .Net framework) and use the CLR integration feature of SQL Server and call that function from stored procedure and views. I am not sure if I am thinking in right direction? Any advice on this as well please.

  hii, i have develop my own snmp service..and i want to plot a graph of an OID provided. so, i have create graph in cacti. -) Its is showing device up. -) It is creating rrd file.(RRDTool says OK). -) showing the graph but its empty. but when i check it say rrdtool fetch AVERAGE it showing me all the values nan only..the monitored OID is having value 47 and i have set min=0 and max=100 i am using cacti appliance by rpath http://www.rpath.org/ui/#/appliances?id=http://www.rpath.org/api/products/cacti-appliance still i can show value on graph.. where is the problem??can anyone plz tell me??

  hi, i am very new in android development as well as in java. i had developed an application that gets an image url from a site and wanted to download it into the device and later on i would like to enable users to set it as wallpapers. however, i am met a problem when assigning onclick event to a button. Once i uncomment the line in red, it will pop up a box stating that the application was stopped unexpectedly. • problem in loading images from web

  hi, I am new in android and had developed an app which get images from the website and display it. I got it working in emulator but not in real phones. In some device, it will crash or take very long loading period. Can anyone please help me or guide me in improving it as i'm not sure whether the way i loads the images is correct or not.   Hi All, Suppose there is a table A which has a column AccessRights which is multivalued( Eg of values in it in this format STOLI,HELP,BRANCH(comma separated string) Now a stored procedure is written against this table to fetch records based on a AccessRight parameter sent to the SP. Let that parameter be @AccessRights, this is also a comma separated string which may have a value like STOLI,BRANCH,HELPLINE etc Now I want to compare individual values from the parameter @AccessRights with the column AccessRights. Current Approach is I split the Comma Separated string(@AccessRights) using a User Defined Function Split. And I get Individual values in a Table variable(Contains only one column "accessGroup"), the individual values are in a Table variable under the column name accessGroup and I use following code in the SP for comparison Where AccessRights like '%'+accessGroup+'%' Now if the user passes the parameter (HELP, OLI) instead of( HELP,STOLI) the SP will give the output. What should be done for comparison so that that subststring OLI does not give the output for STOLI

  I have 2 entities, Task and List. Each task has a to-one relationship to a List object called "list", and there is an inverse relationship with List, which has a to-many relationship with Task called "tasks". I'm trying to use a fetch request with an NSPredicate to get all the Task objects that belong to a specified List: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"list=%@", theList]; [fetchRequest setPredicate:predicate]; (where "theParent" is a reference to a List object). However this returns no fetched objects. If I take out the predicate, then the objects are returned (so I do know they exist, and by NSLogging theList I know it has Task objects associated with it).   Hi, I'm using MVP in WPF and I came across a design doubt and I would to get your opinion on this: At some point I need to refresh my view and perform the same initial queries, like when the view was loading. The view's DataContext is my presenter and I have a couple of collections and other variables that are bound to the view. When I need to refresh the view, I'm clearing the collections and the variables and setting the DataContext to null. After that I fetch new data, populate the collections and set the DataContext. Is this the best way to achieve this? The issue with this, is that i'm affraid that when my app grows bigger I forget to reset some variable...the ideal would be to reload the view again in some way without having to worry with the variables I have. • How to customize pickle for django model objects

  I need to pickle a complex object that refers to django model objects. The standard pickling process stores a denormalized object in the pickle. So if the object changes on the database between pickling and unpickling, the model is now out of date. (I know this is true with in-memory objects too, but the pickling is a convenient time to address it.) So what I'd like is a way to not pickle the full django model object. Instead just store its class and id, and re-fetch the contents from the database on load. Can I specify a custom pickle method for this class? I'm happy to write a wrapper class around the django model to handle the lazy fetching from db, if there's a way to do the pickling.

• Nhibernate Criteria Ignore Child Collection

  I have a simple one to many association in my model. The parent class has a collection of children. In the mapping files, the association is a one to many, eager-loaded, using fetchmode.join. This works fine, but how can I write a criteria query but NOT trigger the loading of the child collection? In other words, I want to query the parent and not have it generate the join in the resulting sql. I tried setting the fetch mode to lazy, but in that case Nhibernate generates two separate queries. I don't want the table for child queried at all.

I added some data into my MongoDB. {"_id" : ObjectId("538dafffbf6b562617252178"), ... } However, when I fetched the ObjectId from the database, it gave me like: de.undercouch.bson4jackson.types.ObjectId@484431ff instead of 538dafffbf6b562617252178. I don't quite understand how can I get the ObjectId value. • Python: convert buffer type of SQLITE column into string

  I am new to Python 2.6. I have been trying to fetch date datetime value which is in yyyy-mm-dd hh:m:ss format back in my Python program. On checking the column type in Python I get the error: 'buffer' object has no attribute 'decode'. I want to use the strptime() function to split the date data and use it but I can't find how to convert a buffer to string. • Lazy loading of ESB in a jruby rails app

  I have a jruby/rails app using: jruby 1.4.0 Rails 2.3.5 ActiveMQ 5.3.0 Mule ESB 2.2.1 Currently in our environment.rb file we start up Mule in the initializer. This becomes a big pain when we go to do normal rake tasks that don't require JMS/Mule such as db:migrate as it takes a long time to startup/shutdown Mule everytime. The code is similar to this: APP_CONTEXT = Java::our.company.package.service_clients.Initializer.getAppContext(MULE_CONFIG_PATH) And we use APP_CONTEXT to fetch the bean to connect to the appropriate service. I'm trying to figure out some mechanism by which APP_CONTEXT could be lazily instantiated (not in initialize) to avoid all of the pains of having to startup Mule on initialize. Currently we have a few ruby client classes that are instantiated as a before_filter in application_controller such as @data_service = DataService.new(APP_CONTEXT) that initialize the proper java client for each request for use in our controllers. I'm open to all suggestions. I'm having a hard time trying to find the right place to put this lazy instantiation.

  Running the following code against a large PostgreSQL table, the NpgsqlDataReader object blocks until all data is fetched. NpgsqlCommand cmd = new NpgsqlCommand(strQuery, _conn); NpgsqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); // <-- takes 30 seconds How can I get it to behave such that it doesn't prefetch all the data? I want to step through the resultset row by row without having it fetch all 15 GB into memory at once. I know there were issues with this sort of thing in Npgsql 1.x but I'm on 2.0. This is against a PostgreSQL 8.3 database on XP/Vista/7. I also don't have any funky "force Npgsql to prefetch" stuff in my connection string. I'm at a complete loss for why this is happening.

• Adjacency List Tree Using Recursive WITH (Postgres 8.4) instead of Nested Set

  I'm looking for a Django tree library and doing my best to avoid Nested Sets (they're a nightmare to maintain). The cons of the adjacency list model have always been an inability to fetch descendants without resorting to multiple queries. The WITH clause in Postgres seems like a solid solution to this problem. Has anyone seen any performance reports regarding WITH vs. Nested Set? I assume the Nested set will still be faster but as long as they're in the same complexity class, I could swallow a 2x performance discrepancy. Django-Treebeard interests me. Does anyone know if they've implemented the WITH clause when running under Postgres? Has anyone here made the switch away from Nested Sets in light of the WITH clause?

I would like to write a function that takes three inputs: [url, data, cookies] that will use urllib (not urllib2) to get the contents of the requested url.   I have a case where i have three entities with one-to-many and one-to-many relationships: Entity A (Entity B relationhip), Entity B (Entity A relationship, Entity C relationship), Entity C (Entity B relationhip) I have the reference of Entity A, and now i want to fetch all the related Entity C records. How can i do that? (with least amount of code) Edit: Here's another way to put it. Can we perform joins with CoreData. For example, (and this is a very crude example), We have a following entity-relationship: Grand Parent (1)---(m) Parent Parent (1)---(m) Child So, now if i have "Albert" the Grand Parent, and i want to get all his grand children, how can i do that?

  Hi everyone! I have a date string as input from an rss like: Wed, 23 Dec 2009 13:30:14 GMT I want to fetch only the time-part, but it should be correct according to the my timezone. Ie, in Sweden the output should be: 14:30:14 What is the best way? I want it to work with other RSS date formats as well if possible. Im using regexp right now but that is not very general. Im having a hard time finding any library or support for dates and timezones in j2me? /Br Johannes

• best way to externalize HTML in GWT apps?

  What's the best way to externalize large quantities of HTML in a GWT app? We have a rather complicated GWT app of about 30 "pages"; each page has a sort of guide at the bottom that is several paragraphs of HTML markup. I'd like to externalize the HTML so that it can remain as "unescaped" as possible. I know and understand how to use property files in GWT; that's certainly better than embedding the content in Java classes, but still kind of ugly for HTML (you need to backslashify everything, as well as escape quotes, etc.) Normally this is the kind of thing you would put in a JSP, but I don't see any equivalent to that in GWT. I'm considering just writing a widget that will simply fetch the content from html files on the server and then add the text to an HTML widget. But it seems there ought to be a simpler way.
