  • Error installing Package Control for Sublime Text 3 on Ubuntu 14.04

    - by user1837378
This is the error. It comes up when I paste and enter the installation code (which I get from the Package Control website) and each time I open up Sublime Text. Package Control Your system's locale is set to a value that can not handle non-ASCII characters. Package Control can not properly work unless this is fixed. On Linux, please reference your distribution's docs for information on properly setting the LANG environmental variable. As a temporary work-around, you can launch Sublime Text from the terminal with: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 sublime_text I had the same problem with Ubuntu 13.04 so it's probably not version-dependent.

  • How to get the value of an item from database and set it as the spinner value

    - by kulPrins
    I have a database and the database populates a listview. when i long press a list item from the listview i get a context menu where i have the option to edit. When the edit option is clicked i open an activity and get all the values of the respective fields from the database. Now, here I want to get a value from the database and show it in the spinner. the spinner already has these values and is getting populated from the database... I have tried the following, but i get an error saying I can't cast a SimpleCursorAdapter to an ArrayAdapter.. String osub = cursor.getString(Database.INDEX_SUBJECT); Cursor cs = mDBS.querySub(osub); String subs = cs.getString(DatabaseSub.INDEX_SSUBJECT); if(cs!=null){ ArrayAdapter<String> myAdap = (ArrayAdapter<String>) subSpinner.getAdapter(); //cast to an ArrayAdapter int spinnerPosition = myAdap.getPosition(subs); //set the default according to value subSpinner.setSelection(spinnerPosition); Please tell me how to do this.. Thank you.. I am relatively new so please let me know if I am overlooking something. Thanks.. EDIT querySub method public Cursor querySub(String sub) throws SQLException { Cursor cursor = mDatabase.query(true, DATABASE_TABLE, sAllColumns, "ssub like " + "'" + sub + "'", null, null, null, null, null); if (cursor.moveToNext()) { return cursor; } cursor.moveToFirst(); return cursor; } Error Log 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{an.droid.kit/an.droid.kit.DetailsActivity}: java.lang.ClassCastException: android.widget.SimpleCursorAdapter cannot be cast to android.widget.ArrayAdapter 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1956) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1981) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$600(ActivityThread.java:123) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:1147) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4424) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:784) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:551) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: android.widget.SimpleCursorAdapter cannot be cast to android.widget.ArrayAdapter 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at an.droid.kit.DetailsActivity.dbToUI(DetailsActivity.java:217) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at an.droid.kit.DetailsActivity.onCreate(DetailsActivity.java:104) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.Activity.performCreate(Activity.java:4465) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.Instrumentation.callActivityOnCreate(Instrumentation.java:1049) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:1920) 06-05 12:11:14.144: E/AndroidRuntime(775): ... 11 more

  • Application stops on back button in new activity

    - by Bruno Almeida
I have this application, that have a listView, and when I click in a item on listView, it opens a new activity. That works fine! But, if I open the new activity and than press the "back button" the application "Unfortunately, has stopped". Is there something I'm doing wrong? • is there a way to show what field you updated in mysql?

    - by ggfan
When users edit their account, I want to display a confirmation page that shows their updated information with the fields that they changed in bold. Is there a mysql statement that allows you to select the fields that a user changes? If not, how exactly can I achieve this Ex: (editaccount.php) first_name: bob last_name: builder email: [email protected] When they change say their first name to "james", the confirmation page shows their first name in bold because they changed that but the other areas are still normal text. first_name: <b>James</b> last_name: builder email: [email protected]

  • Java regex skipping matches

    - by Mihail Burduja
I have some text; I want to extract pairs of words that are not separated by punctuation. Thi is the code: //n-grams Pattern p = Pattern.compile("[a-z]+"); if (n == 2) { p = Pattern.compile("[a-z]+ [a-z]+"); } if (n == 3) { p = Pattern.compile("[a-z]+ [a-z]+ [a-z]+"); } Matcher m = p.matcher(text.toLowerCase()); ArrayList<String> result = new ArrayList<String>(); while (m.find()) { String temporary = m.group(); System.out.println(temporary); result.add(temporary); } The problem is that it skips some matches. For example "My name is James", for n = 3, must match "my name is" and "name is james", but instead it matches just the first. Is there a way to solve this?

  • multiple languages same pages shall I change the page URL path as well?

    - by Athanatos
We own multiple country code top-level domains for our website e.g DE, UK ,FR. When someone visits for one of those domains they redirect to .com and the language automatically changes for the first time to the one from the originating domain. Also users can change the language from the .com website using a dropdown, however the page URI stays exactly the same e.g service.php. How will that be indexed in Google ? Will all the different language will be indexed or only the default lang (English) ? Is it recommended for SEO purposes to do something with the page URL (even using the htaccess maybe) so that I can also append to the title or page name the language ? e.g service.php?lang=fr

  • javax.ejb.NoSuchEJBException after redeploying EJBs

    - by vetler
Using Glassfish 3.0.1 ... If I have a web application accessing EJBs in another application remotely, and the remote application containing the EJBs is redeployed, I get a javax.ejb.NoSuchEJBException (see stacktrace below). Shouldn't this work? I can see that the EJB in question was successfully deployed, using the exact same JNDI name. Is there any other way to fix this than to restart the web application? It should be noted that in this particular example that the stacktrace is from, I'm accessing a servlet that injects the bean with CDI: public class StatusServlet extends HttpServlet { @Inject private StatusService statusService; @Override public void doGet(final HttpServletRequest req, final HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException { res.getWriter().write(statusService.getStatus()); } } The injection is done with the following producer to get the right EJB: public class StatusServiceProducer extends AbstractServiceProducer { @EJB(name = "StatusService") private StatusService service; @Produces public StatusService getService(final InjectionPoint ip) { return service; } } A producer is used to make it easier to wrap the service in a proxy, and to make it easier to change how the EJBs are looked up. The StatusService interface and implementation is as follows: @Stateless(name = "StatusService") public class StatusServiceImpl implements StatusService { private static final String OK = "OK"; public String getStatus() { // Some code return OK; } } public interface StatusService { String getStatus(); } Full stacktrace: • Android: NullPointerException error in getting data in database

    - by Gil Viernes Marcelo
This what happens in the system. 1. Admin login this is in other activity but i will not post it coz it has nothing to do with this (no problem) 2. Register user in system (using database no problem) 3. • Hudson plugin problem

    - by user27644
Hi. I've created almost the same plugin as JobTypeColumn. There is only one difference - it shows job description instead of job type. But after i can't add this column to my list view. I have an NullPointerException after i edited my config.xml manually. java.lang.NullPointerException at hudson.model.Descriptor.newInstancesFromHeteroList(Descriptor.java:626) at hudson.util.DescribableList.rebuildHetero(DescribableList.java:164) at hudson.model.ListView.submit(ListView.java:262) at hudson.model.View.doConfigSubmit(View.java:484) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function$InstanceFunction.invoke(Function.java:185) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function.bindAndInvoke(Function.java:101) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Function.bindAndInvokeAndServeResponse(Function.java:54) at org.kohsuke.stapler.MetaClass$1.doDispatch(MetaClass.java:74) at org.kohsuke.stapler.NameBasedDispatcher.dispatch(NameBasedDispatcher.java:30) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.invoke(Stapler.java:492) at org.kohsuke.stapler.MetaClass$6.doDispatch(MetaClass.java:180) at org.kohsuke.stapler.NameBasedDispatcher.dispatch(NameBasedDispatcher.java:30) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.invoke(Stapler.java:492) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.invoke(Stapler.java:408) at org.kohsuke.stapler.Stapler.service(Stapler.java:117) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:45) at winstone.ServletConfiguration.execute(ServletConfiguration.java:249) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.forward(RequestDispatcher.java:335) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:378) at hudson.util.PluginServletFilter$1.doFilter(PluginServletFilter.java:94) at net.bull.javamelody.MonitoringFilter.doFilter(MonitoringFilter.java:304) at org.jvnet.hudson.plugins.monitoring.HudsonMonitoringFilter.doFilter(HudsonMonitoringFilter.java:31) at hudson.util.PluginServletFilter$1.doFilter(PluginServletFilter.java:97) at hudson.util.PluginServletFilter.doFilter(PluginServletFilter.java:86) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at hudson.security.csrf.CrumbFilter.doFilter(CrumbFilter.java:47) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter$1.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:84) at hudson.security.ChainedServletFilter.doFilter(ChainedServletFilter.java:76) at hudson.security.HudsonFilter.doFilter(HudsonFilter.java:164) at winstone.FilterConfiguration.execute(FilterConfiguration.java:195) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.doFilter(RequestDispatcher.java:368) at winstone.RequestDispatcher.forward(RequestDispatcher.java:333) at winstone.RequestHandlerThread.processRequest(RequestHandlerThread.java:244) at winstone.RequestHandlerThread.run(RequestHandlerThread.java:150) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

  • red5 Install on Ubuntu 10.04? Problems with libslf4j

    - by mrgordon
I've been trying for many days to get Red5 to install on Ubuntu 10.04. I finally managed to get red5.sh to stop hanging a few seconds in but now I'm getting the following error: Setting default logging context: default Exception in thread "main" java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) at org.red5.server.Bootstrap.bootStrap(Bootstrap.java:135) at org.red5.server.Bootstrap.main(Bootstrap.java:50) Caused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.slf4j.impl.StaticLoggerBinder.getContextSelector()Lch/qos/logback/classic/selector/ContextSelector; at org.red5.logging.Red5LoggerFactory.getLogger(Red5LoggerFactory.java:121) at org.red5.logging.Red5LoggerFactory.getLogger(Red5LoggerFactory.java:108) at org.red5.server.Launcher.launch(Launcher.java:51) ... 6 more I suspected that this had to do with slf4j not being installed or on my classpath. I installed logback and libslf4j-java from aptitude and I see related files in my red5 lib directories. For example: /usr/share/red5/lib/slf4j-api-1.6.1.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/log4j-over-slf4j-1.6.1.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/logback-classic-0.9.26.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/logback-core-0.9.26.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/jcl-over-slf4j-1.6.1.jar /usr/share/red5/lib/jul-to-slf4j-1.6.1.jar And I set my classpath to /usr/share/red5/lib/ Any ideas on where to proceed from here? There seem to be a lot of people having trouble getting 10.04 and red5 0.9 working together. I've tried red5-0.9.1.tar.gz and red5_0.9.0-RC1_all.deb. The libraries above should be all that are needed according to Red5's documentation and I got the latest version of each.

  • CentOS 6.5 new Kernel not active after reboot

    - by Kristofer
Today I was running some yum updates and wanted to verify that everything went through fine by making sure I had a new kernel. To my surprise I noticed that CentOS was still running 2.6.32-431.5.1.el6.x86_64 even though it looked as though 2.6.32-431.23.3.el6 was installed. Indeed 2.6.32-431.23.3.el6 shows up in /etc/grub.conf but not in the upstart boot options. Any ideas why? In the update log it says: ---> Package kernel-firmware.noarch 0:2.6.32-431.5.1.el6 will be updated ---> Package kernel-firmware.noarch 0:2.6.32-431.23.3.el6 will be an update Could this be the reason? What does "will be an update" mean? My /etc/grub.conf: # grub.conf generated by anaconda # # Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file # NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. • One Week To Go: OTN Architect Day: Cloud Computing

    - by Bob Rhubart
One week remains until OTN Architect Day: Cloud Computing kicks of at the spectacular Oracle HQ campus in Redwood Shores, CA. The event is free, and there is still time to register. When: Tuesday July 9, 2013 8:30am - 12:30pm Where: Oracle Conference Center350 Oracle Pkwy Redwood City, CA 94065 Register now. It's free! Here's the latest update to the event agenda: 8:30am - 9:00am Registration and Continental Breakfast 9:00am - 9:45am Keynote 21st Century IT | Dr. James Baty VP, Global Enterprise Architecture Program, Oracle Imagine a time long, long ago. A time when servers were certified and dedicated to specific applications, when anything posted on an enterprise web site was from restricted, approved channels, and when we tried to limit the growth of 'dirty' data and storage. Today, applications are services running in the muti-tenant hybrid cloud. Companies beg their customers to tweet them, friend them, and publicly rate their products. And constantly analyzing a deluge of Internet, social and sensor data is the key to creating the next super-successful product, or capturing an evil terrorist. The old IT architecture was planned, dedicated, stable, controlled, with separate and well-defined roles. The new architecture is shared, dynamic, continuous, XaaS, DevOps. This keynote session describes the challenges and opportunities that the new business / IT paradigms present to the IT architecture and architects. 9:45am - 10:30am Technical Session Oracle Cloud: A Case Study in Building a Cloud | Anbu Krishnaswami Enterprise Architect, Oracle Building a Cloud can be challenging thanks to the complex requirements unique to Cloud computing and the massive scale typically associated with Cloud. Cloud providers can take an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) approach and build a cloud on virtualized commodity hardware, or they can take the Platform as a Service (PaaS) path, a service-oriented approach based on pre-configured, integrated, engineered systems. This presentation uses the Oracle Cloud itself as a case study in the use of engineered systems, demonstrating how the technical design of engineered systems is leveraged for building PaaS and SaaS Cloud services and a Cloud management infrastructure. The presentation will also explore the principles, patterns, best practices, and architecture views provided in Oracle's Cloud reference architecture. 10:30 am -10:45 am Break 10:45am-11:30am Technical Session Database as a Service | Markus Michalewicz Senior Principal Product Manager Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) New applications are now commonly built in a Cloud model, where the database is consumed as a service, and many established business processes are beginning to migrate to database as a service (DBaaS). This adoption of DBaaS is made possible by the availability of new capabilities in the database that enable resource pooling, dynamic resource management, model-based provisioning, metered use, and effective quality-of-service controls. This session will examine the catalog of database services at a large commercial bank to understand how these capabilities are enabling DBaaS for a wide range of needs within the enterprise. 11:30 am - 12:00 pm Panel Q&A Dr. James Baty, Anbu Krishnaswami, and Markus Michalewicz respond to audience questions. Registration is free, but seating is limited, so register now.
