  • osCommerce custom PHP page

    Hello! One of my client has an old osCommerce website and while working on it I have to implement what I would call "custom php page", i.e. a page which query a MySQL table, not related to osCommerce, and list the result. I'm not sure of the version, this trick I have seen a lot didn't gave me any result : http://www.clubosc.com/how-to-know-what-version-of-oscommerce-you-are-using.html . And I'm having a hard time doing this seemingly simple task, since osCommerce doesn't allow any php code in the page creation, and I didn't find any module giving me this possibility (not that it is easy to search in this mess : http://addons.oscommerce.com/). At this point I figured it would be easier to just hack'n slash through the code and come up with a custom page : I copied the index.php (the entry point in the application) : <?php require('includes/application_top.php'); if(!$smarty->is_cached($sContentPage, $sCachingGroup)) { //we switch on the content recognition require('includes/pages/' . $sContentClass . '.php'); } $smarty->display($sContentPage, $sCachingGroup); require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_bottom.php'); ?> Here I gave a specific value to $sContentClass (with or without the if makes no difference) and customize the corresponding PHP file so it show my custom content but also initialize the same variable than those other PHP file in the pages/ folder. But alas, all of this curious and dubious code simply return me the home page. So here I am, is there an osCommerce Guru around here, or would anyone has a better idea (oh and I also posted on the osCommerce forum, but I'm still waiting for a response...)? So far, it does connect to facebook, however, it redirects to the page specified in the application settings in the dialog that appears instead of the page I was at. The dialog does not close and the page it supposedly directing to appears in the dialog box. What to do?

  • Initialize content of a jQuery remote tab on initial page load

    I'm using the jQuery tabs library to create a set of remote (i.e., ajax loaded) tabs. However, to avoid the initial page load being empty until the ajax request finishes, I'd like to include the content for the initial tab with the initial page download. I've got this generally working by providing a div in the initial page load that matches the title of the tab, but even though this content appears immediately, as soon as I initialize the tabs it does the ajax request IN ADDITION which is both wasteful and causes a flicker. My basic question is how can I get jQuery tabs to NOT do an ajax request for the initially selected tab, and get this content as part of the initial page load, while still loading the other tabs dynamically. The complication is that I can't hard code the ids/hrefs for which tab is the "initial" one since the initial tab will change based on available content. I'm sure there is some kind of hacky way to do this with javascript rewriting the URLs of tabs dynamically before I initialize the tabs but I'm looking for a cleaner solution. Any ideas?

    I'd like to implement a custom post retrieval page in wordpress. Basically, I'm using AJAX to call this page that will be passed a post ID and retrieve certain data from that post. Note: please don't mistake this as a template question. I do not want a template for one single page -- I am looking to make this page query multiple different posts based on postID and return certain data from that post. So I tried creating a page <?php $args=array( 'p'=>'77' ); $friends = new WP_Query($args); ?> <?php if ($friends->have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <?php the_title(); ?> <?php the_content(); ?> <?php else: ?> <p>Sorry, no posts are available.</p> <?php endif; ?> But this does not work since it is not loading in the wp functions to handle the query.     I'm using a jQuery plugin called InfiniteScroll (https://github.com/paulirish/infinite-scroll) and I have a URL with this pattern: '/category/2/', when I paged the result I use the following pattern: "/category/2?page=2". When Infinite Scroll makes de request, he increments the wrong number, in the case above, the request is: "/category/3?page=2" in place of "/category/2?page=3". Anyone knows how workaround this?

    I am trying to display a list of pages similar to the facebook search results. Along with the page's name, I would like to display the page type. The page's type property (from the Pages.getInfo API call returns the rather unfriendly looking strings from this list: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Page_Types Is there any way to map these to or retrieve the actual type descriptions facebook uses for page types in the facebook search results? These are not only more presentable, but appear to be less granular (both good things for my purpose).

    I am using phpbb on a site for a client, and the client has requested that each different forum page have a different background color. Such functionality is not built into phpbb (from what I can tell), so how should I go about doing this? Can I modify the code of phpbb directly? My other thought was to use a js conditional statement, but seeing as the only difference on the forums page would be the page title, I don't know how I could format this.

    I want to write a Firefox extension that acts exactly like the built-in RSS feed scanner (as an exercise). It should do the following: On each new page / tab load, it should scan the content of the page for RSS feeds If there are RSS feeds in the page, it should put a button in the location bar that the user can click On clicking the button, a speech bubble should appear under the button (the way a speech bubble appears under the bookmarks star when you click on it), with information on the feeds and buttons to subscribe to them So my main questions are: What is the process to run specific content scripts for specific pages? What is the process to use the results of those scripts to update the speech bubble for each location bar button for each tab? Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to do in Firefox what Page Actions are in Google Chrome. Please help! :)

    I have an aspx page that has... if (!IsPostBack) { PopulateBrand(); in the Page_Load. This PopulateBrand() simply populates my drop down. That works great and on post back it retains the value. The problem I'm having is that there is also a link on the page that is posting back some parameters to this page. What is happening is that when this is clicked it's falling through this !IsPostBack section and wiping out my drop down values that I had selected and repopulating it. How can I prevent this and just retain what I selected when this page is posting back to itself when the link is clicked? Thanks.

    I'm having difficulties in the making the logout code for php to work. When I click on the logout button, it will go back to the home page, but when I click on the back button in the browser. I can still access the previous page, wherein the user must be logged on to access it. So I'm thinking of redirecting to the login page when the user clicks on the back button on the browser. This is my code, in the home page(where in no user is logged in yet.   • Make browser to go back by reloading page 1st and then scrolling it back again too

    EXPLAINING WHAT I'M TRYING TO SOLVE: I have a webpage (file_list.php) showing a list of files, and next to each file there is a button to delete it. When user press the DELETE button close to a certain file name, the browser goes to a script called delete_file.php that deletes the file and then it tells browser to go back to the file_list.php delete_file.php uses a simple header("Location: file_list.php”); to go back to file_list.php When browser goes back to file_list.php it reloads the page, but it DOES NOT scroll it back again to where the user was before. So let's say the user scrolled the files list and deleted the last file, when the browser shows again the page file_list.php it won't be scrolled to the bottom of the page again. THE WORKAROUND I CAME OUT WITH: I found a strange way to work around this, basically instead of using header("Location: file_list.php”); in delete_file.php I simply use a javascript call window.history.go(-1). This workaround works perfectly when user is in session (simply using PHP session_start function): the browser RELOADS the file_list.php page and then scrolls it also bask to where it was before. But if the user is NOT in session the browser scrolls the page but IT DOES NOT RELOAD IT before, so the user would still see the file he deleted in the file list. THE QUESTIONS Do you know how to reproduce the behavior of the browser when goes back being in session even if we are not in session? Do you know a way out of this, even another way of solving this matter? Thanks! *I know I could use AJAX to delete the file so I would not have to go every time to delete_file.php, but this is not the answer*.

    I'm using Master Page in my ASP.net application, in the master page I put a ContentPlaceHolder in Update Panel to support AJAX in child pages, the question is how to stop Refreshing "master page controls" while navigating between pages?
