  • mvc - how to avoid log out when refresh a page

    I have built the MVC application with WCF service. The major problem I have experienced with refreshing page. I have created a login page with session (username and password). But when you refresh the home page by pressing F5, it would automatically log out. That is my problem. I need to stay the home page after refresh. I have been googling around to find a solution but it seems not helpful. Any idea? Your advise or code example much appreciated.

I have given the [Authorize] attribute for each view index method. After the session complete when we select any view then the page inside the project main page will be redirecting. But I want the whole page to be redirected. Any Help is appreciated.

I have a button..It's id is btnSave.     Heya, I'm fetching a page using ajax (jquery) and appending certain data to the Requests query string to let the server know it shouldn't render the entire Page, just the view in question to the output buffer. I'm having no luck though, I can detect when the page needs to be rendered partially, but everything I've tried so far (including stuff like return PartialView()) isn't working. Any ideas?     I have an AS2 site where all the pages are different lenghts and have navigation at the top and the bottom. When you click on the bottom navigation on one of the longer pages in order to get to another shorter page, you land on the same place where the bottom navigation was on the page before; ie you land at the bottom of the page. How can I get around this so that every time you land on a new page it has scrolled to the top? Thanks!!

The way I have the site setup now is that if a user visits the Store page, for example, and then clicks the login button in the upper right, the user is returned to the default landing page. I tried to solve this by using a unique id and name for the attributes: <a href="#bottom" id="4656" name="4656"> But this hasn't worked. Suggestions? P.S. Don't use the URL bar, yes that works. Visit the page and click on a link in a post that says "Bottom of the page". This is where it isn't working.

  • Internet Explorer 8 doesn't finish downloading the page!

    I'm currently finishing up testing a new Ruby on Rails app. Just recently, some of the pages do not seem to finish downloading in IE8. In FireFox, Chrome and Safari, everything works perfectly. The pages all validate successfully using the W3C validator. When I view the page source in IE8, the page has been chopped off around 75% of the size it should be. IE8 claims the page is finished loading, and doesn't give any errors, but of course the page isn't rendering properly. Has anyone seen this before? I'd really appreciate any help.

    hi, Upon page reload, all the nodes expand and then only the selected node remain expanded which is the desired behavior. However, I'd like to prevent all the nodes from expanding upon refresh as it creates a flicker. Has anyone else experience this behaviour? How can I turn it off? Thanks

    Hi, I have an asp.net web page (C# 2008) where the user would enter an EmployeeID, and when they tab out of the textbox, they get a messagebox prompting them to select one of two values from a dropdown listbox. The code for the message prompt in the codebehind is : Response.Write("<script>window.alert('Please select Alpha or Beta')</script>"); After the prompt is displayed, and the user clicks "ok" and returns to the page, the text on the page appears distorted (the text in labels are a size larger, the labels get wrapped to another line etc) I tried putting a Response.Redirect("UserProfileMaint.aspx"); after the messagebox in the codebehind, but now, the messagebox does not appear; I want to display the messagebox validation, and ensure the appearance of the text on the page is not distorted. How can I do this?

    So I've been struggling with a nice and easy way to allow users to access a private page without asking them to fill out a login/password form. What I'm thinking about using right now is for each private page I generate a uniqueid (using php uniqid function) and then send the URI to the user. He would access his private page as "www.mywebsite.com/private_page/13ffa2c4a". I think it's relatively safe and user friendly, without asking too much of information. I thought maybe when the user access this page it would ask for it's e-mail just to be sure, but the best would be nothing at all. Is this really safe? I mean not internet banking safe, but enough for a simple access? Do you think there's a better solution? Thanks. :)

  • AJAX or full page reload

    I have a simple web page with top navigation and the content, on click of a certain link in top navigation content changes accordingly. Now my question is should do it using AJAX call and load the HTML it into content or should i reload the entire page.It is small page fetching data does not take much of the time but i wonder approach is better suited and why ? My opinion is AJAX way, but some of the web pages that i have seen goes for full page reload i wonder why. i'm not sure AJAX method it has any cons in it. Can someone please elaborate this for me.
