• Dinamically creating a member ID card as pdf using PHP?

  I need to code a PHP script that would let me generate a pdf file which displays a member ID card (something like a credit card used to identify oneself) at a certain resolution. Let me explain: I do have the basic blueprint of the card in png file format. The script needs to drop in a member's name and birth day along with a serial. So far, no problem - there are plenty of good working PHP librarys out there. My problem is to ensure that the resulting pdf (the generated image of the card, to be precise) meets a certain resolution (preferably 300dpi), so that printing it would look right. Any ideas?   Hello, I want to know if there exists a tool to help in reversing a compressed javascript that has obscure variable names. I am not looking for a pretty-printing beautifier, but for a tool that actually know a to change & propagate variable name choices. Let me be more specific : - some of the functions belong to the 'public' API and i want to impose readable argument names in their prototypes - there are intermediary variables for document, window and other browser idioms I would like to give this knowledge to the tool and then let it create another javascript where the knowledge would have been correctly propagated. thanks Jerome Wagner

• When will NAnt reach version 1.0

  I like Nant very much. I do a lot of scripting with NAnt. It is a great little tool. Since NAnt is pre 1.0, when problems occur, I often think if that it is a problem with NAnt itself, but this is not always the case. One funny example: After running the oracle scripts I parsed the log output to make sure there was no problem. I was testing this with a small log file and it was fine. I used the task to load the file contents to a string property and used a regex to search for errors. When I used this script for a large log file, I stopped getting the "build failed" message at the bottom, because I was printing the error messages. Because the "build failed" was hiding at the top, I thought NAnt crashed, but it worked fine. It would be better for NAnt to have a 1.0 release. Any reasons why not?

• why does python.subprocess hang after proc.communicate()?

  I've got an interactive program called my_own_exe. First, it prints out alive, then you input S\n and then it prints out alive again. Finally you input L\n. It does some processing and exits. However, when I call it from the following python script, the program seemed to hang after printing out the first 'alive'. Can anyone here tell me why this is happening?   Hello SAP-Gurus, im fairly new to webdynpro abap and have the following problem: I created a service returning a set of all existing customers. This function works well, if i test it in a litte program simply printing out the lines. now i created a webdynpro containing a table to display these customers. I also did the binding! AND it works, but only if an event fires the execute...function. What i need is kind of "execute initially", means that the function gets executed when the table initially loads. How can i do this?   I'm baffled with Grails test operator. This expression: <g:if test="${!(preferences.displayOption.equals('ANA') || preferences.displayOption.equals('FLOP'))} "> ${!(preferences.displayOption.equals('ANA') || preferences.displayOption.equals('FLOP'))} </g:if> prints false How can that be? I'm printing the exact same condition I'm testing for! even though I'm certain the test condition evaluates to 'false' because it prints false in the very next line, the statements inside the g:if are being rendered. Anu ideas as to what's going on.

  I have a simple report maid in bids 2008 and deployed to a ssrs2008 server. it has this report properties: page unit : Centimeters page size : Orientasion: Landscape paper sise: A4 width : 29,7cm Height: 21cm all margins ar 2,5cm Showing and printing this report works fine making it perfekt on a A4 paper. exporting to difrent formats works also grate exept the format i made the report for. The word files ither end up whit an letter paper size or a A3 size. Do enyone have a solution for this problem?

  I want to display an image when printing a page from MS Page using the FilePageSetupHeader. It all works fine if I pass in the parameter for the Text property as a string as such FilePageSetupHeader Alignment:=pjRight, Text:="&P""C:\filepath\image.gif""" However, I'd prefer to be able to pass the filepath to the image to display as a variable. Somehow I can't get it right. So if I try something like the following: vImagePath = """&P""""" & prjFilePath & "\image.gif"""""" FilePageSetupHeader Alignment:=pjRight, Text:=vImagePath it just displays the path as a string. I'm pretty sure it boils down to something simple like escaping the quotes in the correct way, but I've been playing around with it for a while now and I can't seem to get it right. Any idea how this works?

• java regex illegal escape character error not occurring from command line arguments

But if #1 is replaced by Pattern p = Pattern.compile("\d");, it gives compiler error saying illegal escape character. In #1 I also tried printing the pattern specified in the command line arguments. It prints \d, which means it is just getting replaced by \d in #2. So then why won't it throw any exception? At the end it's string argument that Pattern.compile() is taking, doesn't it detect illegal escape character then? Can someone please explain why is this behaviour?

But with condition when printing column 7 onwards. Below is my awk script: awk '{ if ($4=="+") { {end=$6-$5}{print $1 "\t" $2 "\t" $3 "\t" $4 "\t" $7 "\t" end+$7} } else {end=$6-$5}{print $1 "\t" $2 "\t" $3 "\t" $4 "\t" $7-end "\t" $7} }' But why it doesn't achieve the desired result like this? foo foo scaffold_7 1 4845 6422 bar bar scaffold_7 -1 14689 16310 Note that the arithmetic (e.g. $7-end or end+$7) is a must. So we can't just swap column from input file. Furthermore this AWK will be inside a bash script.

• Font Times New Roman 11,25 Regular is not supported in telerik reporting.

  Hi all.. I'm having some trouble exporting to PDF in Telerik Reporting Q2 2008. It seems that for some reason, exporting to PDF ( or printing, which is the same, it first exports to PDF, and then prints ), is giving me this error. First it started with Arial, I found the bug with the font Arial, replaced the textbox with Times New Roman, and it keeps on giving me this error. The strange thing, is that this only happens on the production server ( Windows Server 2008 ), on my development machine, this works flawlessly, I even tried to copy the fonts from my windows font folder, to my production server, but that didn't help anything... Does someone know what is happening? EDIT: Problem solved...a server reboot solved the problem instantly, unfortunately at the time I posted this question I couldn't do a server restart, later that day ( at night ) my boss restarted the server and all was good again.. • MS Access Print Report using VBA

  I have a very VBA intensive report. When I preview it everything is great but when I print it after previewing things go wacky. I have spent many hours narrowing down the possibilities and I have conclude with a certain level of confidence that it is a but in MS Access. Up to this point my method for printing reports was to open the report using docmd.openreport "report". I then use the docmd.printout command so that I can set the page range, collation etc. Is there a way to print a report directly and still be able to set options like page rage, collate etc without doing a preview first? Am I right? In code sample on http://learnyouahaskell.com/ which used putStr then getLine presented output is different than mine (IMHO correct). When I use putStrLn program works as expected (print then prompt and print). Is it a bug in ghc, or it is the way that it should work?

• Visualizing an AST created with ANTLR (in a .Net environment)

  Hi there. For a pet project I started to fiddle with ANTLR. After following some tutorials I'm now trying to create the grammar for my very own language and to generate an AST. For now I'm messing around in ANTLRWorks mostly, but now that I have validated that the parse tree seems to be fine I'd like to (iteratively, because I'm still learning and still need to make some decisions regarding the final structure of the tree) create the AST. It seems that antlrworks won't visualize it (or at least not using the "Interpreter" feature, Debug's not working on any of my machines). Bottom line: Is the only way to visualize the AST the manual way, traversing/showing it or printing the tree in string representation to a console? What I'm looking for is a simple way to go from input, grammar - visual AST representation a la the "Interpreter" feature of ANTLRWorks. Any ideas?

  I'm debugging a site that has problems with element positioning when printing (I have a separate print.css file linked by a link element with the media="print" attribute). This problem only occurs in IE7 and IE8. What I'm looking for is a way to view the page using the print media type, but while still having IE8's developer tools available to view element details and edit in real-time, etc. The function I'm looking for would be similar to the "Display CSS by Media Type" feature in Chris Pederick's Web Developer Extension for Firefox. (But this problem doesn't occur in firefox...nor in safari, or even in IE6.)

• How do you interface with a USB to Parallel adapter?

  I'm currently doing a project where I have to interact with a circuit I made through the parallel port of a computer. However, my computer doesn't have a parallel port so I borrowed a Parallel to USB adapter cable. The cable didn't come with any drivers, but it's recognized by the device manager as a "USB Printing Support" controller, under the USB section. It seems that old parallel printers can be plugged in and work properly without any problems. So my question is, if I write a program in Java that tries to interact with a parallel port directly, will it work? And if not, can anyone give me some pointers as to what I need to do to interact with it? Thanks.

• Preoder traversal of a Btree

  I'm trying to figure out how to do a preorder traversal of a Btree. I know that generally preorder traversal works like this: preorder(node) { print value in node preorder(left child) preorder(right child) } What's confusing to me is how to make this work with a Btree, since in each node there are multiple values and multiple child pointers. When printing values, do all the values in the node get printed before descending into the left child? Each node looks like this: child1 value1 child2 value2 child3 value3 child4 Also, why would anyone want to do a preorder traversal of a Btree, since an inorder traversal is what will display the values in ascending order?
