  • Regex for circular replacement

    - by polygenelubricants
How would you use regex to write functions to do the following: Replace lowercase 'a' with uppercase and vice versa Where words are separated by whitespaces and > and < are special markers, replace >word with word< and vice versa Replace postincrement (i++;) with preincrement (++i;) and vice versa. Variable names are [a-z]+. Input is just a bunch of these statements. Bonus: also do decrement. Also interested in solutions in other flavors. Note: this is NOT a homework question. See also my previous explorations of regex: Regex split into overlapping strings (Alan Moore's answer is especially instructive) Can you use zero-width matching regex in String split? (my solution exploits a known Java regex bug with regards to non-obvious length lookbehind!)

  • Full Text Search MSSQL2008 show wrong display_item for Thai Language

    - by ensecoz
I am working on MSSQL2008. My task is to investigate the issue that why FTS cannot find the right result for Thai. First, I am having the table which enable the FTS on the column 'ItemName' which is nvarchar. The Catalog is created with the Thai Language. Note that, Thai language is one of the language that doesn't separate the word by space so '????' '???' '????' are written like this in the sentence '???????????' In the table, there are many rows that include the word (????) for examples row#1 (ItemName: '???????????') On the webpage, I try to search for '????' but SQLServer cannot find it. So I try to investigate it by trying the following query in SQLServer select * from sys.dm_fts_parser(N'"???????????"', 1054, 0, 0) To see how the words are broken. The first one is the text to be break. The second parameter is specify that using Thai (WorkBreaker, so on). and here is the result: row#1 (display_item: '????', source_item: '???????????') row#2 (display_item: '????', source_item: '???????????') row#3 (display_item: '??', source_item: '???????????') Notice that the first and second row display the worng display_item '?' in the '????' isn't even Thai characters. '?' in '????' is not Thai charater either. So the question is where is those alien characters come from? I guess this i why I cannot search for '????' because the word breaker is mis-borken and keeping the wrong character in the indexes. Please help!

  • Get Specific part of a String in Javascript

    - by streetparade
I have a string containing something like this "Hello bla bla bla bla ok, once more bla können. // this is static: it doesn't change This is a text, this also a text. // this is dynamically added text it can change each time My name mysurename // this is also static text www.blabla.com " Now I have content and I have to get the first part of the string and the third part, I want to be able to have 3 parts, I think I have to split it using something like split(); string1 = "Hello bla bla bla bla ok, once more bla können.; string2 = ""; // i have this part string3 ="My name mysurename"; If it helps the first part ends with "können. " and the third part ends with the url above // its a fictional URL

  • Mysql german accents not-sensitive search in full-text searches

    - by lukaszsadowski
Let`s have a example hotels table: CREATE TABLE `hotels` ( `HotelNo` varchar(4) character set latin1 NOT NULL default '0000', `Hotel` varchar(80) character set latin1 NOT NULL default '', `City` varchar(100) character set latin1 default NULL, `CityFR` varchar(100) character set latin1 default NULL, `Region` varchar(50) character set latin1 default NULL, `RegionFR` varchar(100) character set latin1 default NULL, `Country` varchar(50) character set latin1 default NULL, `CountryFR` varchar(50) character set latin1 default NULL, `HotelText` text character set latin1, `HotelTextFR` text character set latin1, `tagsforsearch` text character set latin1, `tagsforsearchFR` text character set latin1, PRIMARY KEY (`HotelNo`), FULLTEXT KEY `fulltextHotelSearch` (`HotelNo`,`Hotel`,`City`,`CityFR`,`Region`,`RegionFR`,`Country`,`CountryFR`,`HotelText`,`HotelTextFR`,`tagsforsearch`,`tagsforsearchFR`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 COLLATE=latin1_german1_ci; In this table for example we have only one hotel with Region name = "Graubünden" (please note umlaut ü character) And now I want to achieve same search match for phrases: 'graubunden' and 'graubünden' This is simple with use of MySql built in collations in regular searches as follows: SELECT * FROM `hotels` WHERE `Region` LIKE CONVERT(_utf8 '%graubunden%' USING latin1) COLLATE latin1_german1_ci This works fine for 'graubunden' and 'graubünden' and as a result I receive proper result, but problem is when we make MySQL full text search Whats wrong with this SQL statement?: SELECT * FROM hotels WHERE MATCH (`HotelNo`,`Hotel`,`Address`,`City`,`CityFR`,`Region`,`RegionFR`,`Country`,`CountryFR`, `HotelText`, `HotelTextFR`, `tagsforsearch`, `tagsforsearchFR`) AGAINST( CONVERT('+graubunden' USING latin1) COLLATE latin1_german1_ci IN BOOLEAN MODE) ORDER BY Country ASC, Region ASC, City ASC This doesn`t return any result. Any ideas where the dog is buried ?

  • How to parse a string of boolean logic in PHP

    - by TheOddLinguist
I'm building a PHP class with a private member function that returns a string value such as: 'true && true || false' to a public member function. (This string is the result of some regex matching and property lookups.) What I'd like to do is have PHP parse the returned logic and have the aforementioned public function return whether the boolean result of the parsed logic is true or false. I tried eval(), but I get no output at all. I tried typecasting the boolean returns...but there's no way to typecast operators...hehe Any ideas? (Let me know if you need more information.)

  • Convert XMLDocument to String

    - by mnh
Here is how I'm currently converting XMLDocument to String StringWriter stringWriter = new StringWriter(); XmlTextWriter xmlTextWriter = new XmlTextWriter(stringWriter); xmlDoc.WriteTo(xmlTextWriter); return stringWriter.ToString(); The problem with this method is that if I have " ((quotes) which I have in attributes) it escapes them. For Instance: <Campaign name="ABC"> </Campaign> Above is the expected XML. But it returns <Campaign name=\"ABC\"> </Campaign> I can do String.Replace "\" but is that method okay? Are there any side-effects? Will it work fine if the XML itself contains a "\"

  • very large string in memory

    - by bushman
Hi, I am writing a program for formatting 100s of MB String data (nearing a gig) into xml == And I am required to return it as a response to an HTTP (GET) request . I am using a StringWriter/XmlWriter to build an XML of the records in a loop and returning the stringWriter.ToString() during testing I saw a few --out of memory exceptions-- and quite clueless on how to find a solution? do you guys have any suggestions for a memory optimized delivery of the response? is there a memory efficient way of encoding the data? or maybe chunking the data -- I just can not think of how to return it without building the whole thing into one HUGE string object thanks

  • Seg Fault when using std::string on an embedded Linux platform

    - by Brad
    Hi, I have been working for a couple of days on a problem with my application running on an embedded Arm Linux platform. Unfortunately the platform precludes me from using any of the usual useful tools for finding the exact issue. When the same code is run on the PC running Linux, I get no such error. In the sample below, I can reliably reproduce the problem by uncommenting the string, list or vector lines. Leaving them commented results in the application running to completion. I expect that something is corrupting the heap, but I cannot see what? The program will run for a few seconds before giving a segmentation fault. The code is compiled using a arm-linux cross compiler: arm-linux-g++ -Wall -otest fault.cpp -ldl -lpthread arm-linux-strip test Any ideas greatly appreciated. #include <stdio.h> #include <vector> #include <list> #include <string> using namespace std; ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// class TestSeg { static pthread_mutex_t _logLock; public: TestSeg() { } ~TestSeg() { } static void* TestThread( void *arg ) { int i = 0; while ( i++ < 10000 ) { printf( "%d\n", i ); WriteBad( "Function" ); } pthread_exit( NULL ); } static void WriteBad( const char* sFunction ) { pthread_mutex_lock( &_logLock ); printf( "%s\n", sFunction ); //string sKiller; // <----------------------------------Bad //list<char> killer; // <----------------------------------Bad //vector<char> killer; // <----------------------------------Bad pthread_mutex_unlock( &_logLock ); return; } void RunTest() { int threads = 100; pthread_t _rx_thread[threads]; for ( int i = 0 ; i < threads ; i++ ) { pthread_create( &_rx_thread[i], NULL, TestThread, NULL ); } for ( int i = 0 ; i < threads ; i++ ) { pthread_join( _rx_thread[i], NULL ); } } }; pthread_mutex_t TestSeg::_logLock = PTHREAD_MUTEX_INITIALIZER; int main( int argc, char *argv[] ) { TestSeg seg; seg.RunTest(); pthread_exit( NULL ); }

  • Crystal Reports Formula Workshop boolean condition to string

    - by Jay
Hello, I'm currently trying to create a report using Crystal Reports that comes with Visual Studio 2008. I would like to include a field of type boolean on my report that shows a string rather than true or false. The string should contain either contain a € or a % sign. How would I go about doing this in the Formula Workshop? I've tried things like e.g. if {tblAankoopDetails.SoortKorting} = true then "€" else "%" However this never seems to work and results in warnings such as "The formula result must be a number". This should be fairly simple but this is my first go at using Crystal Reports. Help would be much appreciated. Jay

  • Efficiently check string for one of several hundred possible suffixes

    - by Ghostrider
I need to write a C/C++ function that would quickly check if string ends with one of ~1000 predefined suffixes. Specifically the string is a hostname and I need to check if it belongs to one of several hundred predefined second-level domains. This function will be called a lot so it needs to be written as efficiently as possible. Bitwise hacks etc anything goes as long as it turns out fast. Set of suffixes is predetermined at compile-time and doesn't change. I am thinking of either implementing a variation of Rabin-Karp or write a tool that would generate a function with nested ifs and switches that would be custom tailored to specific set of suffixes. Since the application in question is 64-bit to speed up comparisons I could store suffixes of up to 8 bytes in length as const sorted array and do binary search within it. Are there any other reasonable options?

  • How Search Engine Bots Crawl Forums?

    - by Waleed Eissa
If I have a forums site with a large number of threads, will the search engine bot crawl the whole site every time? Say I have over 1,000,000 threads in my site, will they get crawled every time the bot crawls my site? or how does it work? I want my website to be indexed but I don't want the bot to kill my website! In other words I don't want the bot to keep crawling the old threads again and again every time it crawls my website. Also, what about the pages crawled before? Will the bot request them every time it crawls my website to make sure they are still on the site? I'm asking this because I only link to the latest threads, i.e. there's a page that contains a list of all the latest threads, but I don't link to the older threads, they have to be explicitly requested by URL, e.g. http://www.mysite.com/showthread.aspx?threadid=7 , will this work to stop the bot from bringing my site down and consuming all my bandwidth? P.S. The site is still under development but I want to know in order to design the site so that search engine bots don't bring it down. Thanks

  • varchar comparison in SQL Server

    - by Ram
I am looking for some SQL varchar comparison function like C# string.compare (we can ignore case for now, should return zero when the character expression are same and a non zero expression when they are different) Basically I have some alphanumeric column in one table which needs to be verified in another table. I cannot do select A.col1 - B.col1 from (query) as "-" operator cannot be applied on character expressions I cannot cast my expression as int (and then do a difference/subtraction) as it fails select cast ('ASXT000R' as int) Conversion failed when converting varchar 'ASXT000R' to int Soundex would not do it as soundex is same for 2 similar strings Difference would not do it as select difference('abc','ABC') = 4 (as per msdn, difference is the difference in the soundex of 2 character expressions and difference =4 implies least different) Is there any other way of doing it ?

  • Not-quite-JSON string deserialization in Python

    - by cpharmston
I get the following text as a string from an XML-based REST API 'd':4 'ca':5 'sen':1 'diann':2,6,8 'feinstein':3,7,9 that I'm looking to deserialize into a pretty little Python dictionary: { 'd': [4], 'ca': [5], 'sen': [1], 'diann': [2, 6, 8], 'feinstein': [3, 7, 9] } I'm hoping to avoid using regular expressions or heavy string manipulation, as this format isn't documented and may change. The best I've been able to come up with: members = {} for m in elem.text.split(' '): m = m.split(':') members[m[0].replace("'", '')] = map(int, m[1].split(',')) return members Obviously a terrible approach, but it works, and that's better than anything else I've got right now. Any suggestions on better approaches?

  • PHP: How to check if query string or POST vars contain same var twice

    - by thomasrutter
It may sound strange, but in my PHP application I need to check if the same variable name has been declared more than once in the query string or POST variables, and return an error value if this is the case. If my application doesn't return an error in this case, it fails a compliance check. When accessing vars using $_GET, $_POST, etc, PHP only returns the last value given for each variable name. I can't find a way to tell if any variable appeared more than once. I simply need to find out if the query string or the variables in the POST body contained the same variable name more than once, whatever the values.

  • String labels on boxplot outliers

Here's a simplification of the dataset I'm using: [,x] [,y] [,z] 7 2 a 10 2 b 112 3 c boxdata<-boxplot(x ~ y) To put values as label on outliers by group, I use this function: for(i in 1:length(boxdata$group)){ text(boxdata$group[i], boxdata$out[i], which(x==boxdata$out[i]),labels=boxdata$out[i],pos=4) } The problem is that I want to put z (string) as label instead of outlier value, but I don't know how to proceed. What do I need to do? Thank you! Ben

  • parsing string off a configuration using strtok in C

    - by Jessica
in the configuration file i have entries similar to this one: filepath = c:\Program Files\some value Where the path can contain spaces and there are no quotes on that string. I tried parsing this with strtok like: char *option; char *value; value = strtok(line, " ="); strcpy(option, value); value = strtok(NULL, " ="); where line is the line I am reading from the file, option will contain the left side of the equal (filepath) and value will contain the right side (c:\program files\some value). I know, it's poor coding, but I haven't found something better. sorry... In any case, for those options where there's no space in the right side it works great, but in those containing spaces it only return the string until the 1st space: c:\Program. Is there any other way to do this? Code is appreciated. Jessica
