  • Which keymap to use for wired mac keyboard in Gentoo Linux?

    I just purchase the new wired mac keyboard: Running on Gentoo Linux it works mostly fine. The only problem i am having is the function keys and swapping the alt and command keys to resemble a regular pc keyboard. When I tried switching to the "mac-us" keymap in /etc/conf.d/keymaps I got garbage when typing (not even qwerty). Is there any specific keymap that I can use to get what I want?

Specifically, is it possible to specify the keys for certain query string parameters and have it only append those name value pairs. For example, for the input: http://www.example.org/test?alpha=1&beta=2&gamma=3 and the list of query string parameter keys: beta gamma it should output: http://www.example.org/redirect?beta=2&gamma=3 (Note that the query string parameters in the input appear in arbitrary order.)

  • eAccelerator settings for PHP/Centos/Apache

    I have eAccelerator installed on a server running Wordpress using PHP/Apache on CentOS. I am occassionally getting persistent "white pages", which presumably are PHP Fatal Errors (although these errors don't appear in my error_log). These "white pages" are sprinkled here and there throughout the site. They persist until I go to my eAccelerator control.php page and clear/clean/purge my caches, which suggests to me that I've configured eAccelerator improperly. Here are my current /etc/php.ini settings: memory_limit = 128M; eaccelerator.shm_size="64", where shm.size is "the amount of shared memory eAccelerator should allocate to cache PHP scripts" (see http://eaccelerator.net/wiki/Settings) eaccelerator.shm_max="0", where shm_max is "the maximum size a user can put in shared memory with functions like eaccelerator_put ... The default value is "0" which disables the limit" eaccelerator.shm_ttl="0" - "When eAccelerator doesn't have enough free shared memory to cache a new script it will remove all scripts from shared memory cache that haven't been accessed in at least shm_ttl seconds. By default this value is set to "0" which means that eAccelerator won't try to remove any old scripts from shared memory." eaccelerator.shm_prune_period="0" - "When eAccelerator doesn't have enough free shared memory to cache a script it tries to remove old scripts if the previous try was made more then "shm_prune_period" seconds ago. Default value is "0" which means that eAccelerator won't try to remove any old script from shared memory." eaccelerator.keys = "shm_only" - "These settings control the places eAccelerator may cache user content. ... 'shm_only' cache[s] data in shared memory" On my phpinfo page, it says: memory_limit 128M Version 0.9.5.3 and Caching Enabled true On my eAccelerator control.php page, it says 64 MB of total RAM available Memory usage 77.70% (49.73MB/ 64.00MB) 27.6 MB is used by cached scripts in the PHP opcode cache (I added up the file sizes myself) 22.1 MB is used by the cache keys, which is populated by the Wordpress object cache. My questions are: Is it true that there is only 36.4 MB of room in the eAccelerator cache for total "cache keys" (64 MB of total RAM minus whatever is taken by cached scripts, which is 27.6 MB at the moment)? What happens if my app tries to write more than 22.1 MB of cache keys to the eAccelerator memory cache? Does this cause eAccelerator to go crazy, like I've seen? If I change eaccelerator.shm_max to be equal to (say) 32 MB, would that avoid this problem? Do I also need to change shm_ttl and shm_prune_period to make eAccelerator respect the MB limit set by shm_max? Thanks! :-)

    Helo all! A wierd shift-key problem, for which all I found was sticky keys answers First of all, I have all the sticky keys and related, Disabled. Every windows that is currently in focus, if I press the left shift-key alone, pops up the current window menu. I have no idea how and why this has happened, or how to disable it. I could not find any reference in google about it (perhaps my search-string was not good..) any help would be appriciated

    Hi Guys, What tools are available to debug a memcache server with a high miss rate (62%)? Ideally I would like to know the keys for the top cache misses, but I would just settle for seeing the keys of live get requests and working it out from there.   • Model M Keyboard inputs incorrect characters after logging in to Fedora

    I recently bought a 24 year old IBM Model M keyboard. From what I gather, it'd been left on a shelf for the last 5 years, so you can imagine the amount of dust dirt and crap that was on it. Before cleaning it, I plugged it in to my laptop (running Fedora 17) using a PS/2 to USB adapter. What I found was, while it still works, the keys I press don't correspond to what is displayed on the screen. So for example, when I type S on the keyboard, I get ß display on the screen instead. At the time, I put this down to the adapter not working properly. Since then, I stripped the keys off the keyboard and cleaned the whole thing. It looks like it's just come out of a box! I then plugged it in to my computer (also running Fedora 17) via a standard PS/2 plug. The computer loaded up to the login screen, and I typed in my password. Pressed enter, and I logged straight in to my machine. At this point, I opened up a text editor and started typing some stuff. To my horror, the keystrokes I was entering weren't coming up as intended. What came up instead were characters that would map to the pressed key but only under a different keyboard language setting. I opened up a program to see what keyboard language had been selected, and the correct one for the keyboard was selected (which is UK in my case). I opened up a window that would show what characters mapped to what keys, and I pressed every single key on the keyboard, and every corresponding block representing each key lit up. I went back to the text editor to try again, but I was still getting these random characters. Whats more is that the backspace key would not work, although in the other utility it would flash when pressed. What I know is that at the login screen the keyboard must have entered the correct characters, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to log in. Further more, keys that don't respond while using a text editor as sending signals to the computer, as illustrated in that keyboard utility. The question is why random characters are displayed when they really shouldn't be? Would this be a hardware fault or a software issue?

I am able to look up an individual record via the GQL admin interface with a query like: SELECT * FROM Pet where __key__ = KEY( 'Pet','Fido') But I'm having trouble figuring out how to do a batch version of this via JDO. Right now I have this: PersistenceManager pm = ...; for(Pet pet : pets) { for(String k : getAllAliases(pet)) { keys.add(KeyFactory.createKeyString(Pet.class.getSimpleName(), k)); } } Query q = pm.newQuery("select from " + Pet.class.getName() + " where id == :keys"); List<Pet> petlist = (List<Pet>) q.execute(keys); But though 'Fido' works in the GQL case, it returns nothing when I use that Java + JDO code. What am I doing wrong?

    I have certain strings which contain special characters so they can not be shared as enum members across a WCF service. (Actually, they are keys for configuration values.) I want to be able to pass in the keys at client side and get back the config values. If there is a change, I only want to change the config keys at one place. Constants would be ideal, because they can be changed as strong references across the entire solution, and the underlaying value could be updated with a service reference update. Currently I can think of two possible solutions: Create a shared assembly and place the constants there Share the constants across the service. The problem is, I can't get the datacontractserializer to serialize the constants. Is that possible at all? Is the shared assembly the only option I have?

    Say I have a hashmap, $hash = array('fox' => 'some value', 'fort' => 'some value 2', 'fork' => 'some value again); I am trying to accomplish an autocomplete feature. When the user types 'fo', I would like to retrieve, via ajax, the 3 keys from $hash. When the user types 'for', I would like to only retrieve the keys fort and fork. Is this possible? What I was thinking was using binary search to isolate the keys with 'f', instead of brute-force searching. Then continue eliminating the indexes as the user types out their query. Is there a more efficient solution to this?

    I need a data structure that acts like a SortedDictionary<int, double> but is sorted based on the values rather than the keys. I need it to take about 1-2 microseconds to add and remove items when we have about 3000 items in the dictionary. My first thought was simply to switch the keys and values in my code. This very nearly works. I can add and remove elements in about 1.2 microseconds in my testing by doing this. But the keys have to be unique in a SortedDictionary so that means that values in my inverse dictionary would have to be unique. And there are some cases where they may not be. Any ideas of something in the .NET libraries already that would work for me?

    I'm having trouble running a pygame based app on Mac OS X via Terminal. Input events such as keystrokes go to the Terminal instead of my Python app, and are detected by pygame. For example, I have the following test script: import pygame pygame.init() screen = pygame.display.set_mode((640, 480)) done = False while not done: pygame.event.pump() keys = pygame.key.get_pressed() if keys[pygame.K_ESCAPE]: done = True if keys[pygame.K_SPACE]: print "got here" Neither K_ESCAPE nor K_SPACE will be handled by this script when I run it from a Mac OS X Terminal, but Terminal will echo back the spaces. I'm running the MacPorts port of pygame (py-game), which depends on Python 2.4, and I've also used python_select to make python24 the active version.

  • Can't access dojo object property using string variable

    I am retrieving a json associative array using a dojo xhrGet request. The data comes back just fine, however I need the app to be able to display the keys and their properties (or values) without knowing the keys beforehand. So, I do the following: function getData() { dojo.xhrGet( { url: "ytd_process.php", handleAs: "json", load: function(response) { for (var key in response) { dojo.byId("boxes").innerHTML+="<div id=\"box\">"+key+":"+response.key+"</div>"; } console.dir(response); // Dump it to the console } }); }; The keys are retrieved and displayed on the page, but the response.key returns undefined. I know the syntax is correct because if I replace .key with an actual key value it will display correctly. It appears it doesn't like a string as the key.   • MSI File/Registry failures to Windows Server 2008/Windows 7

    I'm trying to deploy an application on Windows Server 2008 (SP2 x64) and Windows 7 (x64), using VS2005 Installer Project. The MSI version (I think) it the 2.0. Everything works fine, except that some registry keys and some files are not copied on the install machine. The MSI system doesn't notify about nothing (and I don't know whether MSI logs its operations). Are there incompatibilities between my MSI installer project and these new OSes? It seems to me that the OS protect itself for being modified in some part. For example, I'm trying to set the registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\WinLogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList\User but it is not created. In the same installer there are many other keys, which are created like expected (as they always did before on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003). What's going on?

  • vs2008 mystery: Quick macro record and playback shortcuts not allowed?

    in vs2008, Tools, Macros, Record TemporaryMacro keyboard shortcut toggle is Ctrl+Shift+R; Run TemporaryMacro keyboard shorcut is Ctrl+Shift+P for playback. I've used them before, but they've stopped working. If I open Tools, Options, Keyboard, then navigate to a command like Tools.Run that has no assigned keyboard shortcut, I can experiment by pretending to assign a keyboard shorcut: I simply click inside the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox and try different keystroke combinations. Examples: Ctrl+p: currently assigned to File.Print Ctrl+r: currently assigned to various uses Ctrl+Shift+Q: available Ctrl+Shift+B: currently assigned to Build.BuildSolution BUT vs2008 will not even allow me to type either of Ctrl+Shift+P or Ctrl+Shift+R in the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox. When I type those combinations, nothing appears in the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox. Please note: I can record and playback a temporary macro by using the menu commands, however, the mouse is like a turtle when compared to the keyboard.     I need to generate a checksum over a dictionary. Keys and Values. Is there any simple way to accomplish this in an iterative way. foreach(var item in dic.Keys) checksum += checksum(dic[item]) + checksum(item); In this case, keys and values could be converted to strings, concatinated and then a single checksum applied over these but is there a better way? Ideally MD5 but other options could work. Using this to validate data that is passed over a couple of storage methods. The checksum is then encrypted along with some other information (using AES) so I am not horribly worried about an ideal, unbreakable checksum.

    Hi, I am able to override multiple config parameters using nose-testconfig plugin only if i pass the overriding parameters on commandline. e.g. nosetests -c nose.cfg -s --tc=jack.env1:asl --tc=server2.env2:abc But when I define the same thing inside nose.cfg, than only the value for last parameter is modified. e.g. tc = server2.env2:abc tc = jack.env1:asl I checked the plugin code. It looks fine to me.     Hello guys! I have to capture the following keyboard event in a TextBox - SHIFT + 8(on the numpad). This also means the NumLock will be on. When I try the following, nothing is printed: private void textBox1_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Shift && e.KeyCode == Keys.NumPad8) Console.WriteLine("SHIFT + UP"); } But CTRL + 8(on the numpad) is working. private void textBox1_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Control && e.KeyCode == Keys.NumPad8) Console.WriteLine("CTRL + UP"); } Could someone explain me, why SHIFT + 8 isn't fired, but CTRL + 8 is working? P.S. I wrote + UP, because the user wants to navigate with the numpad arrows and the SHIFT key, but his NumLock will also be on. That's why I catch Keys.NumPad8. All the best, Petar
