  I have a small webserver that running on Lighttpd 1.4 which steadily uses 250GB or less bandwidth for the past couple of months. But since May the traffic spikeed to more than triple of what it was. Nothing special was on my site to make its spike like that. When I checked with vnstat I found that 70% of the bandwidth is tx. I suspect I've been hacked and my webserver is becoming some sort of bot. ClamAV comes out with nothing and I already replaced the Joomla installation with a fresh one, early in June. But right now the traffic stayed the same. My question, how can I monitor my server and look what is transmitting all that data out? My need to be done to pinpoint what is the culprit. Can someone please point to the right way to solve this? Thank you.

• X11 forwarding from one server to other

  I have a setup where I need to forward X11 from my local machine (laptop) to a Virtual machine. The server hosting this VM cannot be reached directly from my laptop. I need to first login to a gateway and from this gateway, I can access the VM. How can I forward X11 from my laptop to this VM? I have tried following but these do not work: [laptop # ] ssh -X [gateway] [gateway # ] ssh -X [VM] [laptop # ] ssh -tX [gateway] ssh -X [VM] I could forward X11 only till the gateway. (DISPLAY variable gets set on gateway)

• How to implement string matching based on a pattern

  I was asked to build a tool that can identify if a string match a pattern. Example: {1:20} stuff t(x) {a,b,c} would match: 1 stuff tx a 20 stuff t c It is a sort of regex but with a different syntax Parentheses indicate an optional value {1:20} is a interval; I will have to check if the token is a number and if it is between 1 and 20 {a,b,c} is just an enumeration; it can be either a or b or c Right now I implemented this with a regex, and the interval stuff was a pain to do. On my own time I tried implementing some kind of matcher by hand, but it turns out it's not that easy to do. By experimenting I ended up with a function that generates a state table from the pattern and a state machine. It worked well until I tried to implement the optional value, and I got stuck and how to generate the state table. After that I searched how I could do this, and that led me to stuff like LL parser, LALR parser, recursive-descent parser, context-free grammars, etc. I never studied any of this so it's hard to know what is relevant here, but I think this is what I need: A grammar A parser which generates states from the grammar and a pattern A state machine to see if a string match the states So my first question is: Is this right ? And second question, what do you recommend I read/study to be able to implement this ?

  Hi as per following Connection pool configuration facing some issue. Place a copy of mysql-connector-java-[version]-bin.jar in $JBOSS_HOME/server/all/lib. • Injecting Entitymanager via XML and not annnotations.

  What I am trying to do is inject through XML almost the same way that is done through A @PersistenceContext annotation. I am in need of this because of the fact I have different entity managers I need to inject into the same DAO. The databases mirror one another and I would rather have 1 base class and for instances of that base class then create multiple classes just so I can use the @PersistenceContext annotation. Here is my example.   I have existing code for tracking multi-touch positions and then rotating and scaling the item - in this case an image - appropriately. The code works really well and in itself is perfect, however for this particular task, I need the rotation ONLY. More likely to be the issue is the calculations, which as I mention is not my strong point. What I need from this routine is a transform that performs my rotation but ignores scale - so the distance between the 2 finger touch points is ignored and scale is not affected. I have looked at other routines on the internet to handle multi-touch rotation but all the ones I tried had issues in some way or other, whereas the above code is spot on for scale and rotate actions. Any help appreciated!

More likely to be the issue is the calculations, which as I mention is not my strong point. What I need from this routine is a transform that performs my movement and rotation but ignores scale - so the distance between the 2 finger touch points is ignored and scale is not affected. I have looked at other routines on the internet to handle multi-touch rotation but all the ones I tried had issues in some way or other (smoothness, jumping when lifting fingers etc), whereas the above code is spot on for move, scale and rotate actions. • Spark compiled views locating

  Hello I have a problem with Spark. I have compiled assembly with views, located in bin subfolder of website, that i created like below engine.BatchCompilation(targetFolder, Global.AllKnownDescriptors()); On start of my app, a try to load compiled views: svf.Engine.LoadBatchCompilation(Assembly.LoadFrom(Path.Combine(basePath, "SharedViews.dll"))); When debugging, i can see that this was successfull. But ViewEngine doesn't find that views. It even doesn'n look for them in CompiledViewHolder where they are located. May that problem be caused ny wrong IViewFolder? Or i should do something more to use compiled views? Thanks

  Hi, I am a Javascript/jQuery/Prototype newcomer and I have a page that has a Prototype function to get info from a database and put it into some input fields. This was made before I came to work on this site and now I've been asked to add a hide/show div function. I tried it in jQuery and there were clashes with the two frameworks, (as found in my previous question). My question now is, how would I go about building a show/hide function in Prototype?   i have a form that has a multiple select drop down. a user can select more than one options in the select. the name of the select is array[]; using php i implode(",",$array) in mysql db, it stores the field as a text in this format "places"= "new york, toronto, london" when i want to display these fields i explode the commas. i am trying to run a report to display the places. here is my select: "select * from mytable where db.places .. userSelectedPlaces" how can i check toronto in lists of "places" that user selected? note "places" in the db might be either just "toronto" or it might be comma separated lists of places like "ny, toronto, london, paris, etc".

I would like to create an output array whose elements are the elements of A at the index pairs provided by x_idx and y_idx. I can do this with a loop as follows: for i=1:nx for j=1:ny output(i,j) = A(ix(i,j),iy(i,j)); end end How can I do this without the loop? • Sqlite3 Database versus populating Arrays

  hi, I am working on a program that requires me to input values for 12 objects, each with 4 arrays, each with 100 values. (4800) values. The 4 arrays represent possible outcomes based on 2 boolean values... i.e. YY, YN, NN, NY and the 100 values to the array are what I want to extract based on another inputted variable. I previously have all possible outcomes in a csv file, and have imported these into sqlite where I can query then for the value using sql. However, It has been suggested to me that sqlite database is not the way to go, and instead I should populate using arrays hardcoded. Which would be better during run time and for memory management?

• Could not see memory being released on closing MFC modal dialog that hosts wpf user control using HW

  This is in continuation with my last question posted "Continuous Memory leak while using WpfHWndSource" I have to load an WPF User Control in an MFC Modal Dialog that is being invoked from the ocx control. For this I have created a MFC Regular Dll(Mixed Mode Regular dll with clr option enabled), I have created a modal dialog which will host wpf user control using HWndSource. This exported dialog is placed as a child Dialog of the above MFC dialog that is being invoked from the ocx. Ny intermediate dialog uses C++/Cli code. When the main MFC dialog is closed, I am deleteing the ptr reference of the intermediate dialog created on the heap. In the the dipose of the .Net User Control, I have set most of the references that I have created to null, unsubscribed to the events (to avoid weak refernces), unbinded from the propertes(by using clear binding). Called delete on the HwndSource and the user control(which basically calls the dispose method). But I do not see complete memory being released. Any help would be greatful.

• What's the standard behaviour for an out parameter when a TryXxxx method returns false?

  Assuming a method with the following signature bool TryXxxx(object something, out int toReturn) What is it acceptable for toReturn to be if TryXxxx returns false? In that it's infered that toReturn should never be used if TryXxxx fails does it matter? If toReturn was a nulable type, then it would make sense to return null. But int isn't nullable and I don't want to have to force it to be. If toReturn is always a certain value if TryXxxx fails we risk having the position where 2 values could be considered to indicate the same thing. I can see this leading to potential possible confusion if the 'default' value was returned as a valid response (when TryXxxx returns true). From an implementation point if view it looks like having toReturn be a[ny] value is easiest, but is there anything more important to consider?

• Scrapy + Eclipse PyDev : how to setup the debugger?

  I've successfully setup Eclipse with my Scrapy project. I did it by setting a new Run/Debug configuration : Whose main module links to Scrapy /usr/local/bin/scrapy for me (I've found suggestion to use cmdline.py but that failed on my computer (OSX Lion & scrapy installed through easy_install) Defining the arguments to send "crawl ny" in my case as I would if I used the Scrapy command line Setting the correct working directory (${workspace_loc:My Project/src} in my case) Eclipse can successfully launch my project, but I've no debbuger. I'm missing my breakpoints and variable inspection, does anyone know how to setup the debbugger with this environment ?

• Configuring 2 XBee Modules on OSX for wireless connection

  I am trying find out how and with which program for OSX (10.5.8) I can configure serial ports? I am trying to establish a wireless connection between two Xbee´s (RF modules) and cannot figure out how to use ZTerm nor screen under Terminal. The setup I am using is: an Arduino+Xbeeshield+Xbee with external power supply, and an xbee on the xbee explorer connected to the Computer via USB. I am trying to gather information on this through various forums, but most of them cover the configuration issue for PC using X-CTU (which I tried with CrossOver but it doesn´t recognize ny of my ports). According to one source, using screen under Terminal should show me all my serial ports, particularly /dev/tty.KeySerial1 - but it doesn´t show, even though I´ve plugged in both my arduino+xbee shield and the xbee on the explorer.
