  Hi! I've problem regarding GUI with one Menu and one Order Class. I've created a variable to store how many items have been selected in the Menu Class. private int totalSelected; The var totalSelected is live updated. It can be changed anytime depending on actionPerformed() function.(Exp: totalSelected will add up all the selected items) In the Order Class, how can I access to the live update variable totalSelected in order to retrieve the live update value? When I invoke getTotalSelected() function inside the Menu Class, I will only obtain a 0 value. Thanks for your help ^^!

• How do I create email addresses for DotNetNuke users using my domain ([email protected]

  My client wants to create email addresses for all their dotnetnuke users using their domain. The point is to keep the user's email addresses 'private' while still allowing communication through a public email address that they can control. It's not necessary to have a full webmail interface (although that would be nice). I'm thinking it would be enough just to forward any mail on and just act as a gateway. So if an email was sent to [email protected], it would be forwarded on to the email address associated with the dotnetnuke account with username 'rwain'. Is this possible to do in a shared hosting environment? Or do I need to create some custom mail server that does a conversion of the email address and forwards it?

  Is this the easiest way to insert a record with Linq to Sql when there's a many-to-many relationship, or is there a better/cleaner way? I wasn't sure why things weren't working at first, but when I added a second SubmitChanges() it worked. Why was this necessary? But I want to be able do the following, if possible. TextType textFromStringConstant = "SomeOtherText"; I can't extend the String class with the TextType implicit operator overload, but is there any way to assign a literal string to another class (which is handled by a method or something)? String is a reference type so when they developed C# they obviously had to use some way to get a string literal to the class. I just hope it's not hardcoded into the language.

  Hi Everyone, My environment: Windows 2003, VS 2008, .NET 3.5 C# .NET application. During loading my application I call method from C++ dll (Knowl.dll) through my third-party dll library (Common.dll) written in C#. After first deploy (from VS to Developing server) evrything works fine. Then I stops Developing Server, doesn't any changes in code and redeploy. Throws AccessViolationException on this imported method. What is it? On second and after redeplies - the same error. Only after deletin source code and recheckout it from CVS I can normally start server.   I have the following code in a JPanel class which is added to a another class (JFrame). • WPF: KeyboardNavigationMode.Contained doesn't work to suppress focus wrap

  I want to navigate in my window with the arrow key. It works so far but if I reach the end of my window, focus wraps to the first main menu item. • Flex TileList control, image loading issue

  I have a flex 3 TileList in wich a load several image (employee's headshot pictures). The image I'm loading in the TileList are stored in a DataBase (I use the ByteArray class and a Base 64 encoding to store the images in the DB). When I load the images in the TileList from the DB, there is no problem they are displayed correctly, but when I scroll down in the TileList and scroll up again, the position of the images is changing, so for example the image in first position can be now in the 3rd and so on .... • Does an IFilter Exist for Indexing Source Code Files?

  Anybody know of an IFilter that can index source code files beyond what the "Plain Text" filter can provide, with possibly a custom "Property Set" specific to programming? For example, I have 835MB in 41,000 files and 8,200 folders in my "Code Library" folder. I would like to perform searches such as "select distinct attributes on properties" or "select class exceptions" or "select classes with nested private classes". Preferrably, the IFilter can distinguish between various languages, so I can perform a query like "select class exceptions in VB.NET" or "select 'resume next' in VBScript". Other Examples "select all enum from folder('microsoft source code') in namespace 'system.io'"

  I'm trying to use jaxb and want to use the 'XmlAccessType.PROPERTY' to let jaxb use getters/setters rather than variable directly, but get different errors depending on what I try, or the variable isn't set at all like I want. Any good link or pointer to a simple example? I have this in my Animal.cs clas private string _animalName; public string AnimalName { get { return _animalName; } set { if(_animalName!= value) { _animalName= value; this.NotifyPropertyChanged("AnimalName"); } } } I could also write: public string AnimalName {get;set;} There is no difference in binding and validation. Everythings works as before when I exchange the code. Is this due to the fact that I only create new animals but I do not allow to update the animals name in my application ? So I need to call the propertyChanged("AnimalName"); only when I want to change its property value? I am a c# beginner ;)

• ManyToMany Relation does not create the primary key

  Hello, I have a ManyToMany relationship between two classes: ClassA and ClassB, but when the table for this relationship (table called objectA_objectB) there is no primary key on it. In my ClassA I have the following: @ManyToMany(fetch=FetchType.LAZY) @OrderBy(value="name") @JoinTable(name="objectA_objectB", joinColumns= @JoinColumn(name="idObjectA", referencedColumnName="id"), inverseJoinColumns= @JoinColumn(name="idObjectB", referencedColumnName="id") ) private List<ClassB> objectsB; and in my ClassB I have the reversed relation @ManyToMany List<ClassA> objectsA; I just want to make a primary key of both id's but I need to change the name of the columns as I do. Why is the PK missing? How can I define it? I use JPA 2.0 Hibernate implementation, if this helps. Thanks.

  When the user is entering a number into a text box, I would like them to be able to press Enter and simulate pressing an Update button elsewhere on the form.   Hi, I've noticed some strange code on a project I am working on - its a SLSB EJB3, and it uses a private instance variable to maintain a cache of data (it even calls it dataCache or something), with a getter/setter. For EJB2 and bellow, this was a typical EJB antipattern - SLSBs are not meant to retain state in between invocations, theres no guarantee you'll see the same data on a subsequent invocation. One of my colleagues said maybe its ok in EJB3 (we don't have much EJB3 experience), but still, its a Stateless Session Bean - why is it trying to maintain state, this doesn't make sense. Can anyone confirm if this is still a bad idea in EJB3 land, or if somehow it is ok? Thanks if you can help, Justin

  How do I set up the MaskFormatter and the JFormattedTextField in order to allow partial matches? For example: I want the user to be able to enter numbers with this mask "## ###### ####", so if the user enters '123456789123' the formatter changes it to '12 345678 9123'. • Empty list in appengine datastore: java vs python

  I have the following java model class in AppEngine: public class Xyz ... { @Persistent private Set<Long> uvw; } When saving an object Xyz with an empty set uvw in Java, I get a "null" field (as listed in the appengine datastore viewer). When I try to load the same object in python (through remote_api), as defined by the following python model class: class Xys(db.Model): uvw = db.ListProperty(int) I get a "BadValueError: Property uvw is required". When saving another object of the same class in python with an empty uvw list, the datastore viewer print a "missing" field. Apparently empty lists storage handling differs between Java and python and lead to "incompatible" objects. Thus my question: Is there a way to, either: force Java to store an empty list as a "missing" field, force Python to gracefully accept a "null" list as an empty list when loading the object? Or any other suggestion on how to handle empty list field in both languages. Thanks for your answers!
