  If you like to re-use your workflow logic over more than one list or library, you can create reusable workflow template. Here are the steps 1. Go to site settings and create reusable workflow template. 2. Select the content type you like the template to bound to and give a workflow a title. 3.Create your workflow the same way as you did for a list workflow and publish your workfow. 4. Finally, you need add your workflow to the list you like to run your workflow. 5. Go to workflow settings and add a Workflow. 6. Select the content type and configure the workflow as below 7. After you done this, your workflow will run as usual. Note: 1. You cannot conditionally start your workflow. 2. Your workflow is not automatically bound to the list when you add the content type to the list, you need to configure it manually as shown in step 4-6.

• Contents farms, scrapers sites, aggregators real world examples? [closed]

  Contents farm, scrappers, aggregators real world examples? Could you plz clarify me: efreedom.com is a scraper site, not a content farm? Because it simply copies and pastes contents from stackoverflow. ehow.com and squidoo.com are contents farm? They don't copy and paste contents they just generate fresh new user generated content, but too much and too quickly. expert-exchange.com is NOT a content farm or a scraper site, right?! It's simply that many people (an me too) hates it (they also wrote to Matt Cutts) because it shows up hight in Google providing a useless question with no answer. There are also many sites that act as 'contents aggregators in the form of specialized directories' (let's call them CASD), I don't know how to else define them. Do they have a specific definition? Anyway are these type of CASD contents farms or scrapers sites or what else? Basically these CASD search for all sites of the same type i.e. “restaurants websites”, they copy and paste the contents found in “Restaurant A” and create in their aggregator site a new page called “Restaurant A”, then they do the same for all websites of the same type, thus creating a sort of directory of restaurants. Later on these CASD also sends an email to the owner of “Restaurant A” (usually the email is on the website) with a user and password to let him modify/update its own page on the CASD site. Later on these CASD might ask for money to the owner of “Restaurant A” because they bring him traffic, otherwise they remove its page on the aggregator. Someone could call these simply directories, but I think a directory is different because is something you need to add your site into by filling a form and not something that steals contents from your existing site without a specific acceptance from the site's owner. I also really wonder how Google will sort out all these mess sites packed of contents that show up more and more and everywhere in search results.

  Content Highlights Our Application Composer series had fresh articles on the related internal data model and lots more on Groovy, including how to manipulate your data and a useful table showing you when and where groovy scripting can be used. For those just getting started with Fusion Applications user security, this article gave some handy examples to get your going. Jani's Java Cloud Service series continued strongly, with examples of integration using ADFbc, a Web Service Proxy client, and the ADF Data Control. From Other Teams The Oracle A-Team provided a broad set of articles during May, with various topics related to Fusion Applications including patching and performance management for on-premises deployments, and generic content on both integration and data extraction via web services. As part of their presentation to Oracle Israel User Group, our AppsUX colleagues explained the fresh new type of interface to Oracle Sales, through the voice mobile apps. This was in addition to demonstrations of the newer Release 8 Simplified UI customization options. Finally Angelo, our colleague in Platform Technical Services, explained in his blog how to use the findCriteria element included in all Oracle Sales web services to reduce the data returned, making response payloads much more specific, lightweight and therefore usable. Events and Announcements Oliver explained in this post about the new set of code samples on OTN for extending Sales Cloud using Oracle Platform as a Service. In addition, a new set of cloud developer documentation was released to provide more guided-learning on extending Oracle Sales Cloud with Oracle Platform as a Service (PaaS) services. This illustrative content is mainly as downloadable PDFs, and include topics covering sales cloud extensibility basics, using web services from JDeveloper (including security), using PaaS for SaaS development, and ADF (including mobile).

• Server side C# MVC with AngularJS

  I like using .NET MVC and have used it quite a bit in the past. I have also built SPA's using AngularJS with no page loads other than the initial one. I think I want to use a blend of the two in many cases. Set up the application initially using .NET MVC and set up routing server side. Then set up each page as a mini-SPA. These pages can be quite complex with a lot of client side functionality. My confusion comes in how to handle the model-view binding using both .NET MVC and the AngularJS scope. Do I avoid the use of razor Html helpers? The Html helpers create the markup behind the scene so it could get messy trying to add angularjs tags using the helpers. So how to add ng-model for example to @Html.TextBoxFor(x = x.Name). Also ng-repeat wouldn't work because I'm not loading my model into the scope, right? I'd still want to use a c# foreach loop? Where do I draw the lines of separation? Has anyone gotten .NET MVC and AngularJS to play nicely together and what are your architectural suggestions to do so?

In today’s press release about the store, the Raspberry Pi Foundation writes: We’ve been amazed by the variety of software that people have written for, or ported to, the Raspberry Pi. Today, together with our friends at IndieCity and Velocix, we’re launching the Pi Store to make it easier for developers of all ages to share their games, applications, tools and tutorials with the rest of the community. • Opening offline version of Microsoft Books Online in browser

  I often use the MSDN website for language reference. In order to make navigation faster, I downloaded the offline version of SQL Server 2005 Books Online from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=be6a2c5d-00df-4220-b133-29c1e0b6585f&displaylang=en The reason why it is 137MB is that it comes with its own GUI, which, not surprisingly, is rather poor! Apparently though, the pages are written in html. The URIs look like: ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v9/sqlcc9/html/674933a8-e423-4d44-a39b-2a997e2c2333.htm . I can open the URI in IE, but with errors. Do you know if I can open them with Firefox and how? Or is there a simple HTML version of "MS Books Online", for example in a ZIP file?

  I use Blender3D, but the answer might not API-exclusive. I have some matrices I need to assign to PoseBones. The resulting pose looks fine when there is no bone hierarchy (parenting) and messed up when there is. I've uploaded an archive with sample blend of the rigged models, text animation importer and a test animation file here: http://www.2shared.com/file/5qUjmnIs/sample_files.html Import the animation by selecting an Armature and running the importer on "sba" file. Do this for both Armatures. This is how I assign the poses in the real (complex) importer: matrix_bases = ... # matrix from file animation_matrix = matrix_basis * pose.bones['mybone'].matrix.copy() pose.bones[bonename].matrix = animation_matrix If I go to edit mode, select all bones and press Alt+P to undo parenting, the Pose looks fine again. The API documentation says the PoseBone.matrix is in "object space", but it seems clear to me from these tests that they are relative to parent bones. Final 4x4 matrix after constraints and drivers are applied (object space) I tried doing something like this: matrix_basis = ... # matrix from file animation_matrix = matrix_basis * (pose.bones['mybone'].matrix.copy() * pose.bones[bonename].bone.parent.matrix_local.copy().inverted()) pose.bones[bonename].matrix = animation_matrix But it looks worse. Experimented with order of operations, no luck with all. • What is a good basic/flexible cms for a small website? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Which Content Management System (CMS) should I use? I'm designing a very basic portfolio website for an artist. It features a blog, portfolio, cv and contact page. I've handcoded the basics of this site in php/java, as it is a very small website (and I like coding by hand). But I need a simple cms backend for the dynamic parts of the website (the blog/portfolio). The big systems (ruby, joomla, wordpress) are far too invasive for my liking (and frankly a bit beyond my capabilities). Wordpress for example, requires too much adaptation of the design to the wordpress structure, and ruby is far too extensive for a simple site like this (in my opinion). So what I'm looking for is a (preferably open source) cms that has a simple backend for the artist to use as a blogger, with a mysql database for the content, that will allow me to insert content with simple tags (using smarty tags for example), but is otherwise not too invasive or demanding in terms of the required page structure. Does anyone know of a good cms that fits this description? p.s.: I have tried phpnews and cmsmadesimple, but phpnews was a litte too basic (but very close too what I'm looking for) and cmsmadesimple was way too slow (but otherwise also pretty close too what I wanted, though a bit too extensive).

• How do I compile a Wikipedia lens and install?

• How to configure custom error page in Plesk 9.3 for non existing folder?

  I'm trying to configure Plesk in order to show website visitors a custom error html. The current hosted site is an ASP.NET site. This site shows its custom errors on error403.aspx and error404.aspx files. Now to comply with plesk, I've created error_docs with required files like forbidden.html, etc... When user try to navigate http://mysite.com/a_missing_page.aspx, the visitor is redirected to error404.aspx correctly. But when user try to navigate to a non existent directory http://mysite.com/a_missing_folder/ the site takes me to IIS 404 regular page. Plesk has Custom error documents activated on Web hosting settings. ASP.NET Error pages defined in web.config are showing fine. But it seems plesk wont show its custom html error documents. The bottom line here is about setting up a custom error page to a directory. Is it possible to do this using Plesk or do I have to change it manually on IIS?

• Retrieve the full ASP.NET Form Buffer as a String

  Did it again today: For logging purposes I needed to capture the full Request.Form data as a string and while it’s pretty easy to retrieve the buffer it always takes me a few minutes to remember how to do it. So I finally wrote a small helper function to accomplish this since this comes up rather frequently especially in debugging scenarios or in the immediate window. Here’s the quick function to get the form buffer as string: /// <summary> /// Returns the content of the POST buffer as string /// </summary> /// <returns></returns> public static string FormBufferToString() { HttpRequest Request = HttpContext.Current.Request; if (Request.TotalBytes > 0) return Encoding.Default.GetString(Request.BinaryRead(Request.TotalBytes)); return string.Empty; } Clearly a simple task, but handy to have in your library for reuse. You probably don’t want to call this if you have a massive inbound form buffer, or if the data you’re retrieving is binary. It’s probably a good idea to check the inbound content type before calling this function with something like this: var formBuffer = string.Empty; if (Request.ContentType.StartsWith("text/") || Request.ContentType == "application/x-www-form-urlencoded") ) { formBuffer = FormBufferToString(); } to ensure you’re working only on content types you can actually view as text. • .Net search engine architecture and technology choice

  I am in the process of designing a search engine for an asp.net site. The site currently uses Microsoft Indexing Server to index and search content which range from simple text files to MS documents to PDFs. MIS is also used to crawl File servers. MIS in tandem with Index Server Companion crawls for content from external sites. I intend to replace MIS with the indexer/crawler I am trying to build. Since my platform is completely on the Microsoft stack, I cant afford to have a Java application server. Thus, Solr, and effectively, SolrNet is ruled out. With this being the context, I have couple of questions. 1.Technology choice I had done my initial investigation and looked at Lucene.Net. There seemed to be 2 issues in using Lucene.Net. First being, it cant crawl external content. There doesn't seem to be a direct port of Nutch in .Net. Second, since it is just an indexer, it cant parse various document types. The parsing is left to the developer. So, what would be best technology choice on the .Net platform to achieve indexing & crawling? Are there any .Net open source libraries available for document parsing? 2.Architectural pattern Is there any general architectural pattern or best practice that needs to be followed in designing such a search engine? • Use inotifywait and lftp to synchronize servers

  I have two servers: Server A (CentOS), where people can upload files to (upload root is /files) Server B (Win 2008), with FileZilla FTP Server (FTP root is C:\content) I want that whenever a file is uploaded to Server A, to any subfolder under /files, the file is automatically copied to the exact same subfolder on Server B. Thus, if a user uploads "flowers.jpg" to /files/photos/12345/ then the file must be copied over FTP to C:\content\photos\12345 So far I have this bash script, it does copy the files to server B, but all files are placed in C:\content, and not in the corresponding subfolders. • Page Inspector and Visual Studio 2012

  In this post I will be looking into a new feature that has been added to theVS 2012 IDE. I am talking about Page Inspector that gives developers a very good/handy way to identify layout issues and to find out which part of server side code is responsible for that HTML snippet of code.If you are interested in reading other posts about VS 2012 and .Net 4.5 please have a look here and here.This tool is integrated into the VS 2012 IDE.We can launch it in different ways. 1) We will create a new ASP.Net MVC application (an Internet application). I will not add any code.2) In the Solution Explorer I choose my project and right-click. From the available options select View in Page InspectorHave a look at the picture below.  3) We can launch Page Inspector from the Standard Toolbar. Please have a look at the picture below.   4) Let's view our application with Page Inspector. First I inspect the About link-menu.I can see very quickly the HTML that is rendering for that link to appear. I also see the server side code (the actual view, _Layout.cshtml) that is responsible for that link. This is something developers always craved for. We can also see the CSS styles that are used to style this link (About).Have a look at the picture below Obviously there are similar tools that I have been using in the past when I wanted to change a part of the HTML or see what piece of CSS code affects my layout. I used Firebug when viewing my web applications in the Firefox browser. Internet Explorer and Chrome have also great similar tools that help web developers to identify issues with a site's appearance/issues.Please bear in mind that Page Inspector works with all forms of the ASP.Net stack e.g Web Forms,Web Pages.Hope it helps!!!!!

• Windows 7 Media Center suddenly Jerky..

  Media Center in Windows 7 has been running great for me for the past few months since I switched to Windows 7. I can watch HD content on my Xbox, and I have had very few issues with it (occasionally it has locked up on the Xbox, but restarting the Xbox usually fixes that). All of a sudden it has gotten jerky, SD content playing on my computer (not even streaming to the Xbox) is Jerky. VLC and Windows Media Player play the same content perfectly, it is just when it is playing in Windows Media Center (whether streaming or not). Any ideas what could be the cause of this? And yes I have reboot several times...

  It may seem obvious but it’s worth stating again. The idea that mobile users are going to read lots of user assistance on their devices is just wrong. So, Jakob Nielsen’s post Mobile Content Is Twice as Difficult serves as a timely reminder for anyone thinking of putting manuals as a form of user assistance onto mobile phones. There is also an excellent post on UXMag.com, explaining that one of the ways to screw up with your iPhone app is to throw an old-style user manual into the user experience: 10 Surefire Ways to Screw Up Your iPhone App.   (Image copyright and referenced from UX Magazine 2010)   Instead, user assistance  alternatives—if any at all—include one-time tours, graphics, in-context instructions, and so on. Not so sure that importing “humor” and “personality” work so well in the enterprise app space, myself. However, the message is clear: iPhone users don’t read manuals. Great message. Users will figure it out, and if they can’t, well then your app’s UX is a problem and the app will fail. Shame some teams are obsessed with figuring out ways to port existing manuals to mobile platforms without any thought for the UX. Razorfish’s Scatter/Gather blog says it all: One thing that is particularly discouraging, most material currently available on “Creating Content for the iPad” or similar themes turns out to be about getting traditional content onto, or into, the iPad.
