Figuring out page size with YSlow / Web Developer extension

I'm trying to figure out how much javascript is being loaded on my website. I'm using Reducisaurus to shrink my js files. The problem is, this is causing both YSlow and the Web Developer extension report the size of my files as ~.04K, which I know can't be right (one of the .js files is jquery, which is 50kb). Is there any way to accurately figure out how much time I've saving by using Reducisaurus?

Menu glitchy on top of slideshow

I have implemented the following set up (after being requested): slideshow of images changing, after the user mouse over, the menu would appear in the top right corner, it would disappear on mouse out. The problem is that the menu it glitchy in both IE6/7 and FF 3.5. I have tried Jquery hover, mouseenter, mouseleave, all with the same result. http://www.codecookery.com/test/index.html is it possible to make it not glitchy at all?

Advice on creating admin panel where user can upload, remove and order the files

I'm working on a website where a logged-in admin needs the ability to upload and manage multiple PDFs from their computer. They'd need to be able to upload/remove the files. Also, there would need to be a way that they can sort the list of uploaded files and save that order so that other visitors to the page would see the list of files in that particular order. I looked into jQuery Uploadify among other things. Would javascript be the right way to go? Thanks, Manoj

I've read a couple pages that referenced refreshing the DOM after the javascript runs, but I haven't been able to successfully do it (I know enough about javascript to hack things around and get stuff working, but not enough to create whole new things). It is worth noting that Silverlight doesn't work with Internet Explorer 8 or Safari (not sure if it's my code, mejs, or the browsers). Script files returning 404 Error.

Hi, I'm using ASP.Net and whenever I create a script file or try to include a script file like jQuery they aren't working. I am doing just a regular localhost server and none of the scripts are working. Upon further examination using firebug I look at whats being referenced in those scripts and it shows html code for a 404 error. I know the scripts and files are there and I can navigate directly to them in the browser but for some reason I can't reference them in my page. Here is a screenshot:

Why target="_blank" is not advisable to use with XHTML?

and It's validated in XHTML 1.1 and WCAG 2.0 Guidelines doesn't have any info about it's use? I know it's not valid in XHTML 1.0 strict but if many people using other ways like JavaScript, jquery, rel attribute, PHP etc. Does it make sense? it means people don't want to follow validation rules. they just want to pass the validation.
