• cruisecontrol.net failing build with no errors

  Hi, I've been using CCNet for some time now but just upgraded to .net 4. I've installed the new framework on my dev box along with vs2010 and on my CC.net server as well. I've just installed CruiseControl.net version 1.5.6804.1, and changed my MSBuild tasks to point to the new v4.0.30319 framework directory. I've got two projects on .net 4 now that just don't build. They build perfectly well in VS and run well on both Cassini and IIS. • Postfix sending mail back to itself? (Ubuntu 9.10)

  I setup Dovecot and Postfix using the "Dovecot-Postfix" package with SASL and all that. The Dovecot part seems to be working fine but I'm having issues with Postfix. Whenever I send a message to another address through the postfix server, two things happen. the message never gets to the other address (even when I request a delivery notification, it says that it's been delivered but it's not in the spam box in the other inbox or anything) The message comes back to my inbox through Dovecot as though I sent it to myself internally. e.g. I send an email through my postfix server to my gmail account, 10 minutes later nothing shows up in my gmail account but the message comes back to me as though I was sending it to my internal address (with no errors) Any ideas?

  I need help as I am confused a lot with .htaccess Some months back, I removed WWW from the URL of my domain name using following .htaccess lines: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^example.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://example.com/$1 [L,R=301] Now, I also want to remove the trailing slash from the URL, as because I am using WordPress and a page/post will open, no matter if there's a trailing slash or NOT! I request you to please provide me the .htaccess code, so that I can REMOVE the trailing slash. Kindly remember, I don't want WWW also and I have already set .htaccess rule for the removal of WWW Note: 3 Years back when I started the blog, I set the Permalinks Structure without trailing slash. • estimating size of reply HTTP headers

  I am trying to download a file via a basic socket connection, using a HTTP GET request. So, I have to specify how many bytes of data coming in I have to read from the socket. However, I am having trouble deciding the amount of data (say, in bytes) the server would reply back with. I know that there is a "Content-Length" field in the reply sent by server, but that gives me the size of the actual data (without the http headers). Is there a way to get the exact size of HTTP headers sent by the server or an estimation is required? (I am doing this for downloading on a mobile network, where every bit of data matters in terms of time and money, so I don't wish to make an unnecessary larger estimate of the header size.)

• IIS6 + PHP + FastCGI 500 Errors - Where to start looking?

  I've set up IIS6 with FastCGI to use php-cgi.exe. I have some php websites by external parties, that I'm trying to run in a test environment. One of the websites just plain gives me a FastCGI Error Page. Question: Is there some way to enable logging somewhere so that I can get a bit more information on this problem? I have looked in Eventlog IIS Website log (c:\windows\system32\Logfiles) PHP log But no results, except the IIS Website log mentions a return of a 500 page. Question: Is there any other way to debug/check where things might be going wrong? Here is what the page looks like: FastCGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request.   I have a question about intellectual property, I am currently a manager in a small manufacturing firm. The owners are driven by greed and don't appreciate the development process of complex machinery and are happy just to send things out half done. I on the other hand think that it should be done properly as breakdown in the field can be costly, embarrassing. They seem to have all of us running around doing most of the work out of hours using the attitude of "Be grateful to have a job" yet no one has a contract or any security or any agreement in place. For a couple of the projects i am using PLC's and doing the code in my own time and the testing during company time, and i am aware that they cannot support their own machines if i left, but as i created the code in my own time who owns it? The have asked my to put in a shutdown code for a maintenance request after a given length of time, could this be classed as criminal damage or anything illegal apart from immoral? (we sell the machines with 12 month warrantee, shut down after) But as time goes on I'm getting rather fed up of the companies attitude toward the client. I am considering keeping the clients as my own and get them to contact me directly In the shutdown code. By doing something like this is a trial version contact me for a full license? I wouldn't feel bad for my current employer as he is not afraid to S***t on people as he has been evolved in numerous law suits and has over 30 failed companies leaving people and customers high and dry, we have took the company this far on the reputation of the workers and and i can see things heading like all the other companies he has owned and taking our reputations with him. So i suppose now i have set the scene, if i code into it to contact me directly in the shutdown could there be any legal impact on me, as i rightly or wrongly think i own the code and designs? We are able to set : proxy_set_header Accept */*; However, this seems to have to be done inconditionally. Whenever trying to do : if ($http_accept !~ ".") { proxy_set_header Accept */*; } It complains with the message : "proxy_set_header" directive is not allowed here So, using nginx, how can we set the HTTP Accept header to */* when it is empty before sending the request to the application server ?

• Error in New-MailboxExportRequest - "Couldn't find the Enterprise Organizational Container" even though permissions seem right

  When disabling users I typically will be asked to retain a copy of their mailbox. I accomplish this by literally creating their mailbox in Outlook and then exporting to PST. Is there some way around having to do this just to save a mailbox? Edit: I've tried New-MailboxExportRequest but I keep getting the following after providing an alias: Supply values for the following parameters: FilePath: \\localhost\EXPORT_PST\myuser.pst Mailbox: myuser Couldn't find the Enterprise Organization container. <--- the error I've also tried supplying [email protected] as the mailbox as well. Edit 2: I had already seen the post at http://www.mikepfeiffer.net/2010/10/error-couldnt-find-the-enterprise-organization-container-when-creating-a-new-mailbox-export-request/ so I set the permissions as follows below: NTFS permissions Sharing permissions I am still getting that error. Final Solution In Exchange SP2, it does not warn you that you have not set role assignments, it just fails. So be sure to create a management role for "Mailbox Import Export" and add your user to the group, then restart PowerShell for this to take effect.

  I'm running IIS 7.5 on Windows 7 Ultimate. I've installed PHP Version 5.2.14 using Microsoft Web Platform Installer. I've created a virtual directory and a file with which I can browse it and it returns all the PHP information just fine. I'm trying to install MantisBT, and when I copy all the file to my virtual directory and browse index.php I receive the following error detail: Error Summary HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.   Do your approved Purchase Orders occasionally not make it to the supplier, or the attached document is incorrect?  Or perhaps your users are reporting that the PO Output for Communication fails to fax, print or email.  Try the new Search Helper in Doc ID 1377764.1  First choose the radial button that pertains to your issue.   I have the latest VirtualBox. I have filters for the iPad. But it does not show up in my virtual Windows vista My Computer screen or virtual iTunes. • Rejecting new HTTP requests when server reaches a certain throughput

  I have a requirement to run an HTTP server that rejects new HTTP requests (with a 503, or similar) when the global transfer rate of current HTTP responses exceeds a certain level. For example, if the web server is transferring at 98Mbps, and a new HTTP request arrives, we would want to reject this (as we couldn't guarantee a good speed). I've had a look at mod_cband for Apache, limit_req for nginx, and lighttpd's rate limiting features, but none of them seem to handle my (rather contrived, granted) use case. I should add that I'm open to using pretty much any web server, and am open to implementing this in iptables rules if someone can craft such a rule! (Refusing the TCP connection is fine, it doesn't have to respond with an HTTP 503). Any suggestions?

• How can I deal with a difficult developer that is holding back the project? [migrated]

  Our entire project is being held up because of one piece which is being handled by a single developer. When we did finally got the latest version of his code and started reviewing it, we found the code was horrendous! Its a relatively simply workflow, however the code is so complex that it's very difficult to step through and review/debug. The developer responsible has a hard time accepting any kind of criticism, and feels he is more knowledgeable than others members of the team. It's difficult to even talk to him about his development work because it turns into "I know what I'm talking about and you're just wrong!" type of conversation. A request has already been put in to replace this developer but management is not doing anything. This is probably because devs are in short supply where we are, and this is a corporation has a lot of office drama. I'm just one of the developers, not the project manager, however I really want to see this project succeed. What can I do in this sort of situation to try and keep the project on track?

• When can an FTP server close its passive connections?

  Does the FTP protocol allow the server to close any of its passive connections while the client is still connected? Can it tell when the client is finished receiving and then close the connection? I'm including an FTP server in my application using the pyftpdlib Python project. I've got it to work in active and passive mode, but I'm a bit concerned about when it closes its passive connections. I've tried connecting to it with both FileZilla and the default ftp command in Ubuntu, and in both cases, I get a new passive port for every request. That is, if I sit in the root folder and type ls 10 times, I use up 10 ports. This means that I have to allocate a big block of passive ports for the FTP server to use so it won't run out. As soon as the client disconnects, the server releases all the passive connections associated with that client and those ports can be reused. However, a long-running connection could use up a lot of ports.

All of the sites were working fine, but suddenly without changing anything, every site started to get redirected to url "http://:2083/"., There is nothing in logs, no errors. when i do wget it says: wget grinfeld.com.br --2012-09-04 13:18:23-- http://grinfeld.com.br/ Resolving grinfeld.com.br... 198.101.221.254 Connecting to grinfeld.com.br|198.101.221.254|:80... connected. • Worker processes not starting in IIS 7.5. What should I check?

  I have a Windows 7 machine (Windows version 6.1.7601 SP1 Build 7601) with IIS installed. At some point the installation appears to have become 'corrupted' in some way, as any requests are now met with the message: Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. In IIS manager IIS is started and the app pool I am using reports itself as 'Started', yet there is no w3wp.exe process listed in the process list in task manager (I am a local admin and have clicked the 'Show processes from all users' button. I have enabled logging for the web site (at default location of %SystemDrive%\inetpub\logs\LogFiles), but this folder is empty. I am assuming that this log output is written by w3wp.exe as it handles requests (no w3wp.exe, no log file?). Presumably there is another layer of request handling that is responsible for starting the worker processes, does thsi layer have log files I can check, and/or can I uninstall/re-install that layer? • How to efficiently dump a huge MySQL innodb database?

  I got an Ubuntu 10.04 production MySQL database server where total size of database is 260 GB while size of root partition is itself 300 GB where DB is stored, essentially means around 96% of / is full and there's no space left for storing dump/backup etc. No other disk is attached to server as of now. My task is to migrate this database to other server sitting in different datacenter. Question is how to do that efficiently with minimum downtime? I'm thinking in line of: Request to attach an extra drive to server and take a dump in that drive. Transfer dump to new server, restore it and make new server slave of existing one to keep data in sync When migration is needed, break replication, update slave config to accept read/write requests and make old server read-only so it won't entertain any write requests and tell app developers to update there config with new IP address for db. What's your suggestions to improve this or any alternate better approach for this task?

• Cant access EC2 hosted website

  For some reason, I am unable to access our website www.doccaster.com (Bad request nginx). We are hosted on amazon EC2 with elastic ip associated to it. The weird part is a) I can access it through the public dns url http://ec2-184-73-195-180.compute-1.amazonaws.com b) My co founder who is located in another city can access it via www.doccaster.com. I observed that my instance was failing reachability check, so I launched a new one and assigned it the the elastic ip. I tried to ping the ip address 184.73.195.180 from my machine but no success. Any help will be really appreciated. More details I ran the following command on my server netstat -lntp | grep -E 'apache|httpd' and it displays :::80 for httpd . Is this accurate ? Should it be 0:0:0:80 ? or doesnt matter?

• Downloading content greater than 2000 bytes from local network hangs in browser on Windows XP

  We have web application that runs under Tomcat in a local network. Our customers experience strange problem using this web application. Let's say Tomcat server runs on host1 and we open webapp URL in browser on host2. Any browser on host 2 starts opening page and downloading of content "hangs" for hours. We've made bunch of experiments and found that any content larger than 2000 bytes makes browser request hang. Tried in Internet Explorer 8, Opera 12, Firefox. At the same time if user opens website from internet, it works. Opening webapp from the same host1 where Tomcat is running works normally. Local network is organized with D-Link DGS-3120-48TC switch. Additional info. During experiments we've noticed XP Tweaker installed on hosts. Network settings from that tool: MTU is manually set to 1500 RWIN = 14600 Support of TCP frames larger than 64 KB is on Time to Live = 32 SACK is on

• Suggestion for setting web application parameters

  I'm creating a web application on GWT. I'm using MVP pattern with activities and places. I have a xml config file containing some parameters to be used by the application. Content of this xml file is sent to the client using HttpRequest; I'm using a singleton class to hold the information from the xml file. Right now, the application is getting the data when the user starts the application in the home page, that is working well. Now, since I'm using activities and places, a user can bookmark a page and starts the application in any other page (Place). And here comes the problem: Since I'm using some of the information from the xml file to set some ui widgets, I have to check if the xml config file was read and the application already has the parameters (I do this by checking the singleton class). But the xml file is read by using an HttpRequest, so I got errors 'cause the application needs some parameters to initialize some ui widgets, but these parameters aren't ready on time. I was thinking on using an synchronous request to fix the problem, but it seems complicated and not recommendable to do that. So, I'd like to hear some other suggestions. Thanks.
