  • Altering IFrame src content

    - by Nick
I dont believe this can be done, but is it possible to alter the content of an iframe that is rendered via a src. The 3rd party compiled ASP.Net control (Telerik RadEditor .Net 2 version) I use has an iframe in part of its rendered code and does not contain a doctype and it is causing problems in IE8 with certain elements. As it is compiled, I can not add it in the source. I was wondering if it is possible to add it in another way? I have tried multiple things in jquery such as: $(element).html().prepend("doc type here"); $(element).html("doctype here" + $(element).html()); and all other kinds of dodgy work.

  • cross domain DOM access and manipulation in Java ?

    - by gaqer
In my Java app, how can I incorporate the browser (which loads and renders URLs) in Swing and access it's DOM and manipulate HTML ? How can you embed such browser in a Rich Internet Application and access it's DOM ? More specifically, Vaadin ? Is there a HTTP proxy class that can load an external URL, and render it to the user ? This was what I was doing on LAMP stack....but I want to switch to Vaadin or some Java web framework where I can just use Java to do everything from server-side to client-side logic design, so I can focus more on application logic. (aka looking for developer friendly frameworks like Vaadin). Thank you and have a great weekend !

  • Need help to format the result page after searching

    - by kshama
Hi, I have built a small text based search engine on ROR which will display relevant records having a specified search word in it.since few of the records has more than 1000 words i have truncated each result set to 200 characters. My views file search.html.erb looks like this <% @results_with_ranks.each do |result| -%> <% content_id = rtable.find(result[0]).content_id %> <% content= Content.find(content_id) %> <%= truncate content.body, :length => 200 %><br/> <p> Record id <%= content.id %></p> <hr style="color:blue"> <% end -%> I want to provide an option so that whenever any truncated record is selected its entire body has to be displayed. I also want to paginate the result page displaying some fixed number of records per page. Can any body help me in doing this? Thanks in advance.

  • Do word boundaries work on symbol characters?

    - by Shawn31313
I'm trying to implement word boundaries in my emoticons feature for a chat. But for some reason I can't seem to get the word boundaries to work. I am new to regex. So when I do: var reg = /\b\Hi\b/gi; var str = 'HiHiHi Hi HiHiHi Hi'; alert(str.replace(reg, '')); This happens: Jsfiddle It actually works fine, and does remove those 2 Hi's that are standing alone. But when I change the reg to an escaped smiley and then change the string: var reg = /\b\:\)\b/gi; var str = 'HiHi:) :) HiHiHi :)'; alert(str.replace(reg, '')); This happens: Jsfiddle It just doesn't work. The string stays the same. Is it that word boundaries can't be used on symbols? If so, how does Facebook do it on their chats?

  • Ajax response takes time and status is 503

    - by Suresh S
guys, i have a html page where onclick of a button a ajax request is sent to server , the request calls a jsp page which runs an oracle procedure. The procedure runs the logic and places it in a temp table . once procedure is completed , the values are returned to the client by selecting values from tmp table. as the response is too late . the data is not received at the client side. solution: i tried to run the procedure in a separate thread using a ajax call. when the procedure is completed a global flag is set to indicate that the data is generated. if the response is 500 , a second ajax call invoked by timeout function after 10000 ms . the second call checks the global flag ,if true then reads from table and sends the response. if not again a timeout is set at the client side. this solution is not mature enough. , as the procedure may take long time to respond. please let me know a good solution for this problenm?

  • Is it possible to supply the jQuery Validation plugin with a rules object?

    - by ethagnawl
I took the rules that I'd been using to validate my form and broke them out into a JSON object, hoping to use the same set of rules for client/server validation. So, where I had: $(document.getElementById('new_listing_form')).validate({ rules: { apt: { required: true } } }); I'm attempting to use: var rules_obj = { apt: { required: true } }; $(document.getElementById('new_listing_form')).validate({ rules: rules_obj }); ... and the form is not being validated. Does anyone know if this is possible?

  • jQuery code works in Firebug, but not on its own

    - by Ben
I'm having quite the brainbuster of an issue right now. I am trying to change a link's hash tag at the end from "respond" to "comments" with jQuery. I have a simple script that should do this, however it does not work. The link does not change. However, Firebug shows no errors and when I run the code in Firebug's console, it works just as I intend. Why doesn't this work on its own? Does anybody have a solution, I'm at my wits edge with this one. (function ($) { $(document).ready(function() { $("a[href$='respond']").each(function() { $(this).attr("href", $(this).attr('href').replace("respond", "comments")); }); }); })(jQuery.noConflict()); Thanks so much, I know this might be a pain to test but I'm really thankful.

  • Which library should I use for server-side image manipulation on Node.JS?

    - by Andrew
I found a quite large list of available libraries on Node.JS wiki but I'm not sure which of those are more mature and provide better performance. Basically I want to do the following: load some images to a server from external sources put them onto one big canvas crop and mask them a bit apply a filter or two Resize the final image and give a link to it Big plus if the node package works on both Linux and Windows.

  • Update PageTitle on Timer.Tick

    - by sohum
I've got a page with a Timer that is being used as a trigger on an UpdatePanel. The page also contains a TabContainer and several TabPanels. Look at this question for more information. Basically, I've got an UpdatePanel as the element in each TabPanel's ContentTemplate, and the UpdatePanel is triggered by the Timer. My page displays data by reading a database on each tick. I've got the following code running on each Timer.Tick in my codebehind: protected void timeRefresher_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { UpdateLivePageTitle(); } The UpdateLivePageTitle() function reads the new information from the database and sets Page.Title accordingly. However, this information is of course not sent to the browser because there is no full page postback--only an async postback to the update panels. As a result, my page title is not being updated until the whole page is being posted back, which destroys the purpose of using UpdatePanels in the first place. I figure there would be a way to do this by using the document.title JS element and call that from within UpdateLivePageTitle(). But as of now, I haven't been able to figure out how to do this. I tried using the following in my UpdateLivePageTitle() function: string updatePageTitleScript = String.Format("document.title = '{0}'", newPageTitle); ToolkitScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this.Page, this.Page.GetType(), "UpdatePageTitle", updatePageTitleScript, true); But the result of this was that my TabContainer stopped rendering. I'm also not sure that would work with the async partial page postbacks, either. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Disable day dynamically after clicking it

    - by Justin
I have used the BeforeShowDays method to disable days on page load for my datepicker in the past. What I would like now is to click on a day, and the day should become disabled (not clickable, as if I used the BeforeShowDays method on that day). Is there a way to accomplish this?
