• Runtime of optimized Primehunter

  Ok so I need some serious runtime help here! This method should take in an int value, check its primality, and return true if the number is indeed a prime. I understand why the loop only needs to go up to i squared, I understand that the worst case scenario is the case in which either the number is prime (or a multiple of a prime). But I don't understand how to quantify the actual runtime. I have done the loop myself by hand to try to understand the pattern or correlation of the number (n) and how many loops occur, but I literally feel like I keep falling into the same trap every time. I need a new way of thinking about this! I have a hint: "Think about the SIZE of the integer" which makes me want to quantify the literal number of integers in a number in relation to how many iterations it does in the for loop (floor log(n)) +1). BUT IT'S NOT WORKIIIING?! I KNOW it isn't square root n, obviously. • Is there any way to output the actual array in c++

  So, I'm beginning C++, with a semi-adequate background of python. In python, you make a list/array like this: x = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] Then, to print the list, with the square brackets included, all you do is: print x That would display this: [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] How would I do the exact same thing in c++, print the brackets and the elements, in an elegant/clean fashion? NOTE I don't want just the elements of the array, I want the whole array, like this: {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9} When I use this code to try to print the array, this happens: input: #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { int anArray[9] = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9}; cout << anArray << endl; } The output is where in memory the array is stored in (I think this is so, correct me if I'm wrong): 0x28fedc As a sidenote, I don't know how to create an array with many different data types, such as integers, strings, and so on, so if someone can enlighten me, that'd be great! • Creating a function within a loop (pointers?)

  Im trying to create a simple loop that creates 50 buttons, adds them to screen and then when a button is pressed, it traces out that number. I can get it to work by doing stuff I consider hacky (such as using the buttons X/Y location to determine its value), but I'd rather just be able to hold a single value in the function. The code itself is: for (var a:int = 0; a < 5; a++) { for (var b:int = 0; b < 10; b++) { var n = (a * 10) + b + 1; var btt:SimpleButton = new BasicGameButton(); btt.x = 20 + b * 50; btt.y = 50 + a * 80; addChild(btt); btt.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, function f() { trace(n); } ); } } At the moment, whenever a button is pressed, it simply outputs "50". Is there a way of "freezing" the value of n when the function is created, for that function? (BasicGameButton is just a square button, created in the flash library) Many thanks.

• way to change value of h2 on div hover

  So basically making some concept logic for a project I am working on. Basically it's a portfolio and each box will be a picture and I want to be able to change the value of a h2 to some type of description. Right now it's just a black box so 'square1, square2, square3...etc' will work for now. I looked up some stuff on jquery and found this link from an SO answer. Basically what I need but he is only shifting through one piece of information instead of many in my case. Wondering how I can achieve that via jquery. I imagine I would need to make an array with all the descriptions I need, and (this is where I am lost) somehow attach the value of array to the square and then from there change text of h2 to the array value. Thanks for any help in advance here's what I have so far (not much just did some foundation work). Not sure if this matters but if there is no hover I want the h2 to say nothing. • What does the BIOS setting XHCI Pre-Boot Mode do?

  I have a BIOS setting called XHCI Pre-Boot Mode. If I have this enabled USB devices which aren't plugged in at boot are never recognised, if I set it to Disabled then USB devices work normally. The brief BIOS description says "Enable this option if you need USB3.0 support in DOS." Which I don't, but it also says "Please note that XHCI controller will be disabled if you set this item as Disabled." So does that mean that USB3 is disabled with this option?   Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services 2.0 has been recently released, and it has passed interoperability tests for SAML 2.0. Does this mean that is can be used to authenticate users of Google Apps which also uses SAML? Has anyone successfully setup Google apps with ADFS 2.0 for single sign on? If you have gotten it to work please tell us what is required to get this working? To put it another way, does someone have a good HOWTO for using ADFS 2.0 and Google Apps together? I was not able to find anything through a search of the web.

• "No active network adapters found" Hyper-V 2008 R2

  I fiddled around with the virtual network settings of my Hyper-V server, because Windows Update failed to run in the VMs. I set the flag that makes the NIC exclusively usable by the VM. Now, the host system tells me it has no active network adapters. What does that even mean? According to netsh, there are three enabled network connections. I tried to restart the NICs using devcon.exe (the correct x64 version), but that doesn't make any difference - still, devcon reports the NICs are there and they are activated?! Is there any way I can force the host to re-enable the NICs?

  I have a Amazon Web Services (AWS) Relational Database Service (RDS) instance running SQL Server 2012 Express. I've installed Amazon's aws.amazon.com/rds certificate in the client machine's Trusted Root Certification Authorities store. However, when I connect to the RDS instance (using SQL Server Management Studio 2012) and check off "Encrypt Connection", I get the following error: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The target principal name is incorrect.) (Microsoft SQL Server) What does this mean, and how can I fix it? Thanks!

  How can I make them modal? With modal I mean: The dialog should block the desktop so the user has only two options: Either cancel the dialog or enter text into it. (I want this basically because new windows might popup and can steal focus and additionally that other programs can access configuration files inside that container) Background: I want to ask a passphrase after login for an encfs container. So either entering a pass, or continue with cancellation of this dialog. Note: This is not a duplicate of modal dialog popup alarm, as I am interested especially in a solution to Zenity dialogs.

  There is a physical DC with a Raid 1 Mirror, 2 Physical Disks, 500GB each. Dell Server Administrator is installed on the DC, and is reporting both physical disks are fine, online, in a good state etc. On a PERC S300 Raid Controller: Physical Disk 0:0 Physical Disk 0:1 However at the same time it's reporting that a virtual disk is degraded, what exactly does this mean? The virtual disk indicates it's State is in a Raid 1 Layout. Device Name: Windows Disk 0 If my understanding is correct then the Virtual Disk, when you drill down into Dell OpenManage should have both physical disks as members, as it is a mirror? Is this correct? However, when I drill down into the Virtual Disk, it only displays Physical Disk 0:0 included in Virtual Disk 1. I'm very new to server side/raid management etc. just while our server techy is away! Thanks!

  After installing the 2 files for Windows 7 Windows XP mode, the Start Menu now has Windows Virtual PC Windows XP Mode but clicking on the first merely brings out a folder, and clicking on the second brings out a dialog box that says: "Require Hardware Assisted Virtualization" Does that mean the machine cannot support Windows 7 Windows XP mode? I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition. This is the dialog box: Update: the computer is an HP TouchSmart, with American Megatrends BIOS v02.61. I looked into the BIOS set up but it is quite simple and dosen't have something for "hardware assisted virtualization". The CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo T5750.

  When I try and start my app I get this error. I have verified that JarScanner exists in the CATALINA_HOME directory so I dont know why it cant find it. Is there anything that could lead to this issue starting my app? • Unable to configure DD-WRT SNMP monitoring with Zabbix

  Installed Zabbix on Ubuntu but not sure what setting I missed. Base on my concept, I would like to using SNMP to monitoring DD-WRT router which it using SNMP service. I did enable to SNMP service at DD-WRT router page. And also created a host at Zabbix with included DD-WRT template. After I done it I still unable to get any connection/information at Zabbix which mean the router doesn't communicate with Zabbix.   I am not a Linux admin, although I wish I was, and I have seen these questions Amazon EC2 Backup Strategy Amazon EC2 + EBS:: Regular backup plan? Simple Backup Strategy for Amazon EC2 instances / volumes? And this suggestion http://alestic.com/2009/09/ec2-consistent-snapshot I tried using command line + crontab (the command line works, but crontab for some reason, doesn't) But I'm still pretty lost, all I want is an automated, rolling backup of my amazon EC2 (EBS) data (by rolling I mean keep 3-4 weeks back, but delete old snapshots as new ones come for cost control) And as things usually go, if there is something that is hard and painful, someone creates a solution for it. My question is simple, is there a way using a tool like Puppet to do it without a painful learning curve? (or via other tools like http://ylastic.com) If yes, how?

• Cache Refresh in Chrome

  I dunno what exactly it's called, by cache refresh I mean, refresh the page after clearing its cache. I don't want to clear the entire browser cache. I prefer Chrome's Dev panel against firebug... don't ask me why. But I can't seem to cache refresh my pages. In FF, I know it to be Shift+Refresh. In chrome, I've tried Ctrl+R, Ctrl+Refresh, Alt+Refresh, Shift+Refresh but none of them work. EDIT: I got a Notable Question Badge for the lamest question I've ever asked. FML.

  I'd like to set values in php-fpm conf files what are normally set in php.ini. I'm using nginx. I've created the following setting, but I'm not sure if this would work. php_value[memory_limit] = 96M php_value[max_execution_time] = 120 php_value[max_input_time] = 300 php_value[php_post_max_size] = 25M php_value[upload_max_filesize] = 25M Do you think if this is OK like this? What happens when a value is both set in php.ini and in php-fpm conf files? The php-fpm overrides the ini one? Finally, isn't it a problem that this way I can set different values for all virtual hosts? I mean php.ini seems like a global setting, while this is host dependent. Can different hosts run with different memory-limits, etc?

  Hi, I am building a new box, and planning to install Ubuntu 9-04 or Ubuntu 9-10 on it. I am wary of the hardware selection because in the past I struggled with lack of drivers or driver incompatibility with the network card and video card, etc. The last time I built a Linux box was 2007, and I have not kept up to date with the changes since. One notable difference is that I can no longer find motherboards with nVidia chip sets. • Windows 7 and wallpaper folders

  I try to change my desktop wallpaper and I cannot choose a different folder from the one I chose at first... When I first installed W7 I changed the wallpaper by right-clicking in the desktop and choosing Customize (maybe it's not correct because I use the italian version) and then Change Wallpaper in the bottom and finally I browsed for a folder with some images in and chose the wallpaper. When I do the same exact things now, the folder I select in the final pass is not selected: I mean its pictures are not shown and it doesn't appear in the drop-down list. I can put a specific picture as a wallpaper by selecting it through Explorer, and some times (not always) the folder shows in the drop-down list. Is there any possible solution to this?
