• css ul li gap in ie7

• Jquery calendar and tab sliding div clash...

  Hey all, i am trying my best to figure out another way around this problem i seem to have encountered. On my website i have a jquery calendar and also a jquery div tab slider (this: http://www.queness.com/resources/html/tabmenu/jquery-tabbed-menu-queness.html). The problem comes into play with the DIV tag. The calender loads up inside a DIV with a id of 'calender'. The CSS for the tabs have the DIV hidden: CSS: .boxBody div {display:none;} .boxBody div.show {display:block;} .boxBody #category a {display:block;} And because of that, the calender never shows on the page. However, if i comment out that css code above, it shows up but does not cover each section as it should. • PHP behaves weird, mixing up HTML markup.

  Thanks for looking on this problem. I have a page that is totally valid page, and there is a PHP loop that brings in a <li> for each entry of the table. When i check this page locally it looks 100% OK, but when veiwing the page online the left side bar (which creates this markup is broken randomly mixing <div>'s and <li>'s and i have no clue what the problem is. • Issue with SPI (Serial Port Comm), stuck on ioctl()

  I'm trying to access a SPI sensor using the SPIDEV driver but my code gets stuck on IOCTL. I'm running embedded Linux on the SAM9X5EK (mounting AT91SAM9G25). The device is connected to SPI0. I enabled CONFIG_SPI_SPIDEV and CONFIG_SPI_ATMEL in menuconfig and added the proper code to the BSP file: static struct spi_board_info spidev_board_info[] { { .modalias = "spidev", .max_speed_hz = 1000000, .bus_num = 0, .chips_select = 0, .mode = SPI_MODE_3, }, ... }; spi_register_board_info(spidev_board_info, ARRAY_SIZE(spidev_board_info)); 1MHz is the maximum accepted by the sensor, I tried 500kHz but I get an error during Linux boot (too slow apparently). .bus_num and .chips_select should correct (I also tried all other combinations). SPI_MODE_3 I checked the datasheet for it. I get no error while booting and devices appear correctly as /dev/spidevX.X. I manage to open the file and obtain a valid file descriptor. I did this way because, in order to read a register on the sensor, I need to send a byte with its address in it and then get the answer back without changing CS (however, when I tried using write() and read() functions, while learning, I got the same result, stuck on them). I'm aware that specifying .speed_hz causes a ENOPROTOOPT error on Atmel (I checked spidev.c) so I commented that part. Why does it get stuck? I though it can be as the device is created but it actually doesn't "feel" any hardware. As I wasn't sure if hardware SPI0 corresponded to bus_num 0 or 1, I tried both, but still no success (btw, which one is it?). UPDATE: I managed to have the SPI working! Half of it.. MOSI is transmitting the right data, but CLK doesn't start... any idea?

• How can I get my Web API app to run again after upgrading to MVC 5 and Web API 2?

  I upgraded my Web API app to the funkelnagelneu versions using this guidance: http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/mvc-5/how-to-upgrade-an-aspnet-mvc-4-and-web-api-project-to-aspnet-mvc-5-and-web-api-2 However, after going through the steps (it seems all this should be automated, anyway), I tried to run it and got, "A project with an Output Type of Class Library cannot be started directly" What in Sam Hills Brothers Coffee is going on here? Who said this was a class library? So I opened Project Properties, and changed it (it was marked as "Class Library" for some reason - it either wasn't yesterday, or was and worked fine) to an Output Type of "Windows Application" ("Console Application" and "Class Library" being the only other options). Now it won't compile, complaining: "*Program 'c:\Platypus_Server_WebAPI\PlatypusServerWebAPI\PlatypusServerWebAPI\obj\Debug\PlatypusServerWebAPI.exe' does not contain a static 'Main' method suitable for an entry point...*" How can I get my Web API app back up and running in view of this quandary? UPDATE Looking in packages.config, two entries seem chin-scratch-worthy: <package id="Microsoft.AspNet.Providers" version="1.2" targetFramework="net40" /> <package id="Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure" version="1.0.0.0" targetFramework="net40" /> All the others target net451. Could this be the problem? Should I remove these packages? UPDATE 2 I tried to uninstall the Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure package (its description leads me to believe I don't need it; also, it has no dependencies) via the NuGet package manager, but it tells me, "NuGet failed to install or uninstall the selected package in the following project(s). [mine]" UPDATE 3 I went through the steps in again, and found that I had missed one step. I had to change this entry in the Application web.config File : <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity name="System.Web.Mvc" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" /> <bindingRedirect oldVersion="1.0.0.0-5.0.0.0" newVersion="5.0.0.0" /> </dependentAssembly> (from "4.0.0.0" to "5.0.0.0") ...but I still get the same result - it rebuilds/compiles, but won't run, with "A project with an Output Type of Class Library cannot be started directly" UPDATE 4 Thinking about the err msg, that it can't directly open a class library, I thought, "Sure you can't/won't -- this is a web app, not a project. So I followed a hunch, closed the project, and reopened it as a website (instead of reopening a project). That has gotten me further, at least; now I see a YSOD: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.WebPages.Razor, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. UPDATE 5 Note: The project is now (after being opened as a web site) named "localhost_48614" And...there is no longer a "References" folder...?!?!? As to that YSOD I'm getting, the official instructions (http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/mvc-5/how-to-upgrade-an-aspnet-mvc-4-and-web-api-project-to-aspnet-mvc-5-and-web-api-2) said to do this, and I quote: "Update all elements that contain “System.Web.WebPages.Razor” from version “2.0.0.0” to version“3.0.0.0”." UPDATE 6 When I select Tools Library Package Manager Manage NuGet Packages for Solution now, I get, "Operation failed. Unable to locate the solution directory. Please ensure that the solution has been saved." So I save it, and it saves it with this funky new name (C:\Users\clay\Documents\Visual Studio 2013\Projects\localhost_48614\localhost_48614.sln) I get the Yellow Strip of Enlightenment across the top of the NuGet Package Manager telling me, "Some NuGet packages are missing from this solution. Click to restore from your online package sources." I do (click the "Restore" button, that is), and it downloads the missing packages ... I end up with the 30 packages. I try to run the app/site again, and ... the erstwhile YSOD becomes a compilation error: The pre-application start initialization method Start on type System.Web.Mvc.PreApplicationStartCode threw an exception with the following error message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.WebPages.Razor, Version=3.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.. Argghhhh!!! (and it's not even talk-like-a-pirate day).

• PHP: How do I loop through every XML file in a directory?

  Hi! I'm building a simple application. It's a user interface to an online order system. Basically, the system is going to work like this: Other companies upload their purchase orders to our FTP server. These orders are simple XML files (containing things like customer data, address information, ordered products and the quantities…) I've built a simple user interface in HTML5, jQuery and CSS — all powered by PHP. PHP reads the content of an order (using the built-in features of SimpleXML) and displays it on the web page. So, it's a web app, supposed to always be running in a browser at the office. The PHP app will display the content of all orders. Every fifteen minutes or so, the app will check for new orders. How do I loop through all XML files in a directory? Right now, my app is able to read the content of a single XML file, and display it in a nice way on the page. But how do I loop through the entire Order directory, and read aand display the content of each order (like above)? I'm stuck. I don't really know how you get all (xml) files in a directory and then do something with the files (like reading them and echo out the data, like I want to). -- I'd really appreciate some help. The thread t_ui is responsible to accept asynchronous incoming connections from clients, process the sent data and send other data back to the client. When I remove all the commands from the previous piece of code that has to with the t_ui thread, everything runs ok which in my case means that the other threads are printing their debug messages. If I set the t_ui thread to run too, then the whole program blocks at the "accept" of the t_ui thread. There are two general types of Activities of interest - ones base on a Project and ones based on an Account. The notion of Project and Account have other features totally unrelated to both each other and capturing allocations of time, and each is modeled as a table in the database. For a given Allocation of time however, it makes sense to not care whether the allocation was made to either a Project or an Account, so an ActivityBase class abstracts away the difference. An ActivityBase is either a ProjectActivity or an AccountingActivity (object model is below). Back to the database though, there is no direct value in having tables for ProjectActivity and AccountingActivity. BUT the Allocation table needs to store something in the column for it's ActivityBase. Should that something be the Id of the Project / Account or a reference to tables for ProjectActivity / Accounting?   I recently needed to serialize a datatable to JSON. Where I'm at we're still on .Net 2.0, so I can't use the JSON serializer in .Net 3.5. I figured this must have been done before, so I went looking online and found a number of different options. Some of them depend on an additional library, which I would have a hard time pushing through here. Others require first converting to List<Dictionary<>>, which seemed a little awkward and needless. Another treated all values like a string. For one reason or another I couldn't really get behind any of them, so I decided to roll my own, which is posted below. As you can see from reading the //TODO comments, it's incomplete in a few places. This code is already in production here, so it does "work" in the basic sense. The places where it's incomplete are places where we know our production data won't currently hit it (no timespans or byte arrays in the db). The reason I'm posting here is that I feel like this can be a little better, and I'd like help finishing and improving this code. I'm mystified because the result of transformToXML is false, but the result of libxml_get_errors() is an empty array.   Let's say I have an web CMS type application, and an EDM model with an entity called 'article', and I need to offer the ability for client applications, to a read/query the articles (and other resources stored in our database) a straightforward syndication feed of these articles to end users (along the lines of a simple RSS feed) It seems to me that for the first task, and .net 4's dataservice would be perfect for the job. For the second case, I'm wondering (a) whether atom the right format to choose - I think it is - and (b) whether it's possible to achieve such a feed using the same ado.net OData service. • Openfire and LDAP issues

  Thanks in advance for the help. Has anyone see this issue with openfire? Currently I use Openfire Fedora with Auth using windows 2003 and also use mysql for the database. When I bring up two clients and talk to each other the time is slow between messages. Sometimes it can take between 5-15 minutes for something sent to get to the person (this is with only two people on the openfire server). I ran a tcp dump using port 389 and see that the machine is running thousands of queries against ldap. When i plug it into wireshark I notice that it is transferring the entire contact list or checking on the status of the entire contact list ? I tweaked the settings as recommend by the pages and still get the same issues. I doesnt seem to cache the contact list or this might be a feature never fixed or implemented. Has anyone gone through this before ? I have searched online and I see others have great experience with openfire with no issues like I have, or is it because noone checked the queries ? For the time being I created a new Domain Controller and moved openfire to that computer so it can run local queries. This seems to help reduce the speed alot, but when I run the server performance manager tool I see that with two people only using that openfire server I run 593.7 request per second.   I am using TabHost with 3 tabs. I need to pass the params selected from one screen using Bundle and / or Intent to the next and then set the correct tab in TabHost and pass those params to the correct tab. I hope that makes sense. In Clevel I have to parse the bundle and operate on those params. Basiclaly I will be pulling data froma DB and using that data to call google maps ItemizedOverlay. onClick calls Clevel.class using Intent. This works and I understand how Intent works. What I need to understand is how to grab or reference the selected radio button and whatever else may be clicked or checked and pass it through TabHost to the correct Tab. When I publish the web service application to inetpub\wwwroot (Windows 7, IIS7) it does not delete the old files in the Download directory. The app works perfect when I publish to IIS from a physical directory not in wwwroot. Obviously, it seems IIS places some sort of lock on files in the web root. I have tested impersonating an admin user to run the app and it still does not work. Any tips on how to circumvent the lock programmatically when in wwwroot?   I am trying to create sliding images effect: Online demolink text. The problem is when you click rapidly and randomly on the buttons and not wait for animation to finish causing unpredicted results and even stopping the functionality to work. (and once it stopped in the middle of 2 images...) How Can I make it work without bugs? I know that there are some other tools for that sliding like jquery and other approaches like changing the position attribute and not the scrollLeft attribute. But I want to do it as it is, with scrollLeft, if it possible of course.
