• Portability of pthreads-win32 over various compilers.

  Hello, I'm using pthreads-win32 for portable threading support for windows. At least, according to the documentation pthreads-win32 should work with MSVC and even MSVC builds provided. But I don't know if the library is tested with latest MSVC compilers like MSVC-2008 and if it is supported under 64bit windows. Does anybody aware of any issues with this library? Note: Do not even try to recommend using Boost.Thread, I'm not interested in. And I'm familiar with Boost.Thread library

• Missing AVFoundation.framework

  Hi, AVFoundation.framework is not where the documentation says it should be. I have iPhone SDK 2.2 installed (never had previous sdk versions installed) and I can't find that folder under /System/Library/Frameworks I did find it under /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.2.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/ folder but if I add it from that location, then the compiler can't find the header files. I tried copying the entire AVFoundation.framework folder to /System/Library/Framework, but it still can't find the header files. How can I use AVFoundation classes? Thanks, Alex

• Problem running a simple EJB application

  I am currently running a simple EJB application using a stateless Session Bean. I am working on NetBeans 6.8 with Personal Glassfish 3.0 and I have installed on my system both the Java EE and the Java SE. I don't know whether it is relevent but I am running Windows7 64-bit version. The Session Bean I implemented has just one method sayHello(); which just prints hello on the screen. • Licencing: release the same software with double licence

  In my free time, I develop (alone, sigh) a project, in particoular an application library. I've released it using GPL v3. At this time, this project has come very useful for a job. I'd like to release my OSS library toghether with the application using the same GPL v3 licence, with the exception that it can be linked for the specific application, or for the specific application vendor. AFAIK, the copyright owner can handle the entire source and licencing it, I did it; and probably the licence owner could cut&paste its own code, change its licence and use for other projects, isn't? But an GPL'ed library cannot be linked with a proprietary software, right? But software could be double-licenced, as MySQL does. So the question is: what should I do to allow the distribution of my GPL'ed library with a proprietary software, being the copyright owner?

  Hello, I have a solution with multiple projects - executable, library, and others(unimportant right now). Library contains EF entity classes and executable uses them. When I'm working on some code from the executable then every entity that I use is marked as an error and compiler says that I should check usings and references. Reference in the executable project is set to library project(not the dll itself). When I build the library project then everything gets back to normal, but when I start typing then it happens again. I could live with it, but intelli sense isn't working and that is quite a disadvantage. Any ideas?

• Google Checkout. Show shipping rates before logging in possible?

  I am trying to integrate google checkout with my current site. I am calculating the shipping on my end, before passing it to google checkout. The problem is, when a person click the "google checkout" button, it takes them to google checkout but it does not show the shipping. It actually states it will be calculated on next step. In the next step it actually shows a drop down with the ONE option for shipping that I passed, which is a flat rate.. The problem is, to get to the next step you have to enter a credit card. Also, my shop has the shipping shown in the cart, so it would seem confusing to go to checkout and have a price without shipping.   As usual I typed sudo Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all It uninstalled the first version (Beta) properly. Tried the same thing on the older Stable Version which I have installed to "XCode Stable" Getting this error Use of uninitialized value $dir_name in substitution (s///) at Library/uninstall-devtools line 153. Use of uninitialized value $developer_dir in concatenation (.) or string at Library/uninstall-devtools line 120 Anyone else facing this problem? Can I just trash the installation folder?

  I need to build a library that is to be placed at a custom location stored in the variable CUSTOM_OUTDIR. Currently, I am using the following code to make sure that the library is copied to its proper location. ADD_LIBRARY(example MODULE example.c) GET_TARGET_PROPERTY(FILEPATH example LOCATION) ADD_CUSTOM_COMMAND( TARGET example POST_BUILD COMMAND ${CMAKE_COMMAND} ARGS -E copy ${FILEPATH} ${CUSTOM_OUTDIR} ) However, this is not a good solution as the copying is done post_build, and I end up with two copies of the library. Is there a way to setup CMAKE_BINARY_DIR just for the example library so that only one copy of it is kept in the proper location?

The new Bing app is available on the iPhone app store as of tonight (December 15). Microsoft already offers Bing on a number of mobile phones, and has a five-year deal with Verizon to provide Bing on a number of phones available to Verizon Wireless customers. A mobile version of Bing already is available for Windows Mobile, Blackberry, BREW and Sidekick devices on Verizon.   I'm using Windows 7 on my HP ProBook 4250s. The problem I face is that my system halts for a fraction of second after every 2-3 seconds. These jerks are not letting me concentrate or work properly. This happens even when I'm just typing in notepad while no other application is running. I tried to install every driver from HP's website and there's no item in device manager marked with yellow icon.
