• Next/Last word with Netbeans in Mac OSX

  I've just switched to Mac OSX from Ubuntu. The development on Mac OSX using Netbeans is really a joy (of hell, though) I don't know how to go to next word, last word using keyboard. In windows or ubuntu, this should be Ctrl+Left/Right, but definely not in Mac. In Mac, such key combinations result in go to begin/end of line. Futhermore, the use of Home and End is for something else, not go to begin/end of line (What a cool hell). Is there another key combination? I prefer default key settings, please. I'm sick of going around with custom script.

  Hi I have DateTimePicker on my form and I set a value to the custom format property to "dd/MM/yyyy" ant when I run this code: MessageBox.Show(dateTimePicker1.Value.ToString()); I get this value : "3/26/2010 1:26 PM". How I can remove the time part from value. I know we can use this method dateTimePicker1.Value.ToShortDateString(); but I want to set the value property to this format "dd/MM/yyyy" so the output will be like this "26/3/2010", because I want to store the value in my DB (SQL) How I can do that?

  Here is my custom class that I have that represents a triangle. I'm trying to write code that checks to see if self.a, self.b, and self.c are greater than 0, which would mean that I have Angle, Angle, Angle. Below you will see the code that checks for A and B, however when I use just self.a != 0 then it works fine. I believe I'm not using & correctly. Any ideas? • How can I ignore properties of a component using Fluent Nhibernate's AutoPersistenceModel?

  I am using Fluent NHibernate AutoMappings to map my entities, including a few component objects. One of the component objects includes a property like the following: public string Value { set _value = value; } This causes an NHibernate.PropertyNotFoundException: "Could not find a getter for property 'Value'..." I want to ignore this property. I tried creating an IAutoMappingOverride for the component class but I couldn't use AutoMapping<.IgnoreProperty(x = x.Value) for the same reason. "The property or indexer 'MyComponent.Value' cannot be used in this context because it lacks the get accessor" I've also looked at IComponentConvention but can't see anyway of altering the mappings with this convention. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

I'd like to add a new ItemTemplate to the package to create a user control or dialog that adheres to our current practices. So far it seems I need a Recipe, but I can not find any reference for the GuidancePackage.xml file and how to properly add things to it, let alone how to add a new Item Template or guidance steps and decisions. • EntityFramework: Access dabase-column using user defined Type

  I "inherited" an old Database where dates are stored as Int32 values (times too, but dates shall suffice for this example) i.e. 20090101 for Jan. 1st 2009. I can not change the schema of this database because it is still accessed by the old programs. However I want to write a new program using EF as the O/R-M. Now I'd love to have DateTime-Values in my Model. Is there a way to write a custom type and use this as a Type in the EF-Model. Something like a Type "OldDate" with properties: DatabaseValue : Int23 Value : DateTime (specifying the date-part whereas the time-part is always 0:00:00) Is something like this possible with the EF-Model ?

  I have a table named "Pages" and a table named "Categories". Each entry of the table "Pages" is linked to the table "Categories". The "Categories" table have 5 entries, they are: "Car", "Websites", "Technology", "Mobile Phones", and "Interest". So each time I put an entry to the "Pages" table, I need to map it to the "Categories" table so are arranged properly. • Nothing displaying for Drupal main menu

  I'm trying to output the main_menu in to a custom theme on the page.tpl.php template however nothing is displaying when I add <?php print theme("links", $main_menu) ?> However when I do a var_dump on the $main_menu I get array(2) { ["menu-218"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(7) "" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } ["menu-335"]=> array(2) { ["href"]=> string(6) "node/1" ["title"]=> string(4) "Home" } } What might I be doing wrong? • How to get WordPress Twenty Ten theme sub-menus to expand to their contents (CSS)?

  Hope this isn't "too" niche, because the CSS involved likely applies in other spots. I'm working with the new Twenty Ten theme in WordPress 3 beta/nightlies, and I'd really like it if the drop-down sub-menus (Pages/custom menus) would expand to the width of whatever is in them, rather than wrap the items at 130px. Here's an example page set up that contains nothing but the relevant HTML and the Twenty Ten theme CSS file: http://almostexciting.com/wordpress-twentyten-menu.html I've tried changing the "width" for the link items to a "min-width", which doesn't work - nor does completely removing it. I can't seem to locate any other styles that are constricting the width of the menu items, so I'm a bit desperate for help. Been tearing this thing up in Firebug for too long now.

  I have a data file with input and expected outputs. An example could be: input: output: 2 3 3 5 4 Exception 5 8 ... ... Currently I have a custom solution to read from the data file and perform a test for each {input,output} pair. I would like to convert this into a PHPUnit based solution and I would like to have one test per input using the test name forXassertY. So the first three tests would be called for2assert3(), for3assert5() and for4assertException(). I do not want to convert my existing data to tests if it's possible to create the test methods dynamically and keep the data file as the basis of these tests. I want to convert it to PHPUnit as I want to add some other tests later on and also process and view the output using Hudson. Suggestions?

• Is it possible to programmatically control c# health monitoring without using the web.config file?

  I have developed my own custom provider for the health monitoring; however, I use parameters in the constructor and this is not allowed when using the health monitoring from the web.config file. Does anyone know if I can turn on/off the monitoring and have it watch properly through code (possibly in my global.asax file on application startup). Or, is it possible for me to create my own watcher that will do the same thing as the health monitor. Or, finally - can I just pass variables from the web.config setup (i'm not familiar with the public token part of the provider type declaration). Thanks in advance

• how to prevent myControl.g.cs from overwriting with wrong base class

  I've got two custom cursors for my app, MyCursor and MyOtherCursor, both of which were designed in xaml, and I added some behaviour in the xaml.cs for each of them. This behaviour was the same for both so I had them inherit from a base class to reduce code duplication. public partial class myCursor: CursorBase { public InterchangeCursor() { InitializeComponent(); } } public class CursorBase : UserControl { public virtual void MoveTo(Point pt) { this.SetValue(Canvas.LeftProperty, pt.X); this.SetValue(Canvas.TopProperty, pt.Y); } } my problem is that if I change something in the xaml for MyCursor, the MyCursor.g.cs file is regenerated, and instead of inheriting from CursorBase, the partial class in the g.cs inherits from System.Windows.Controls.UserControl. Since the other side of the partial class in the xaml.cs file still inherits CursorBase, a build error occurs. I'm finding it annoying fixing the g.cs file each time. Does anyone know how to prevent this happening?

  Hey everyone. I am having some issues on my end and hopefully it's just something on my end but, could someone take a look at THIS PAGE in IE and let me know if you can see what is wrong. Please check it out first in FF or Chrome or Safari because it all works fine in those browsers. The two scripts I am using are a custom-ish dropdown menu and another using jcarousel lite.   I am working on a page where part of the content is loaded normally and the pages are rendered using jsps. The product images and links generated on that page are by custom jstl tags. When the user scrolls more products are requested from the server in a JSON response and then using UnderscoreJS templates they are rendered and added to the bottom of the page. Is there any way I can use the JSTL tags in Javascript without recreating them using a javascript function (it won't be possible to re-create all of them in javascript). What is the best way to handle this scenario? I guess I could return a rendered html response for the ajax call, but that would mean I have some ajax requests which use json and some that use rendered html...

• gvim: Easy copying into system clipboard

  I am using gVim on Ubuntu 10.10. I want to copy (yank) text to the system clipboard, so that the copied text is available in other applications. This works with "+y. But I want to have it working with y. I have tried to map y to "+y but then yy doesn't work anymore (since it produces "+y"+y). I have also tried :set clipboard=unnamed but this works only the other direction: Text in the system clipboard I can paste with p.

  I'm currently writing a custom forms application that allows a user to design a data capture form. I store the field's ControlType and ControlAssembly in the database and then create them on the forms at runtime. For example: ControlType = `System.Web.UI.WebControls.TextBox`. ControlAssembly= `System.Web`. So I can therefor create a fully qualified name and create the control doing the following: string target = Assembly.CreateQualifiedName("System.Web", field.ControlType); Type type = Type.GetType(target); Control control = Activator.CreateInstance(type) as Control; But, this will cause an error as "System.Web" is not a valid assembly name. The assembly name itself has to be fully qualified, i.e. System.Web.Extensions would be: "System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" Is there any way I can get the fully qualified name of the assembly System.Web without having to store the entirity of the version, culture and PKT?

• How do I go about embedding a youtube chromeless player without adding controls?

  I am creating an online experiment. It involves participants watching a video then answering a questionnaire. I would like to embed a chromeless youtube video which plays automatically on page load, does not have controls for participants to play around with, and loads the next page once the video finishes. Now the autoplay/forward to next page functions are secondary and I'm not too concerned if I can't get them working. However I am very interested in how to embed a chromeless player. I have gone to the google playground but this code already has the controls attached. I am not very experienced at coding so I do not know what to remove from the code for none of the custom controls on the left to be displayed. Is anyone able to help me? Thanks, Wil

• How do I link a Navigation Menu to an already existing Sitemap

  I am just beginning my journey into web development and I have a very basic question, but I am none the less stumped. I have setup a new ASP.NET Empty Web Application. In this application, I have created a few *.aspx pages and a sitemap called 'Web.sitemap'. I have placed a SiteMapPath control onto my Master page and, with no further configuration, this detected my Web.sitemap and displays the location of the page on any *.aspx page which derives from the master page. However, whenever I add a Navigation Menu, this doesn't happen. When I bring up the Menu Tasks dialogue box, I can't select this from the Choose Data Source dropdown, my only option is to choose <New data source...> which brings up the Data Source Configuration Wizard, and from this I can create a new Site Map, however I want to use the already existing one. How do I go about this? Thanks

  I would like to deploy a Python Flask application on beanstalk. The application depends on external packages (e.g. geopy) and internal packages (e.g. adam_geography). The manual Create a requirements.txt file and place it in the top-level directory of your source bundle. This would probably fetch geopy and its dependencies, but would not fetch adam_geography which is available from a custom repo inside my VPC. How do I specify/upload private, internal Python package dependencies in a Beanstalk application?
