  • How can I scale an OSMF player in ActionScript 3/Flex

    - by Greg Hinch
    I am trying to create a simple video player SWF using the open source media framework in Flex 4. I want to make it dynamically scale based on the dimensions of the video, input by the user. I am following the directions on the Adobe help site, but the video does not seem to scale properly. Depending on the size, sometimes videos play larger than the space allotted on the webpage, and sometimes smaller. The only way I have been able to get it to work properly is by including a SWF metadata tag hardcoding the width and height, but I can't use that if I want to make the player dynamically sized. My code is : package { import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.events.Event; import org.osmf.media.MediaElement; import org.osmf.media.MediaPlayer; import org.osmf.media.URLResource; import org.osmf.containers.MediaContainer; import org.osmf.elements.VideoElement; import org.osmf.layout.LayoutMetadata; public class GalleryVideoPlayer extends Sprite { private var videoElement:VideoElement; private var mediaPlayer:MediaPlayer; private var mediaContainer:MediaContainer; private var flashVars:Object; public function GalleryVideoPlayer() { if (stage) init(); else addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init); } private function init(e:Event = null):void { removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, init); flashVars = loaderInfo.parameters; mediaPlayer = new MediaPlayer(); videoElement = new VideoElement(new URLResource(flashVars.file)); mediaContainer = new MediaContainer(); var layoutMetadata:LayoutMetadata = new LayoutMetadata(); layoutMetadata.width = Number(flashVars.width); layoutMetadata.height = Number(flashVars.height); videoElement.addMetadata(LayoutMetadata.LAYOUT_NAMESPACE, layoutMetadata); mediaPlayer.media = videoElement; mediaContainer.addMediaElement(videoElement); addChild(mediaContainer); } }}

  • Converting python collaborative filtering code to use Map Reduce

    - by Neil Kodner
Using Python, I'm computing cosine similarity across items. given event data that represents a purchase (user, item), I have a list of all items 'bought' by my users. Given this input data (user, item) X,1 X,2 Y,1 Y,2 Z,2 Z,3 I build a python dictionary {1: ['X','Y'], 2 : ['X','Y','Z'], 3 : ['Z']} From that dictionary, I generate a bought/not bought matrix, also another dictionary(bnb). {1 : [1,1,0], 2 : [1,1,1], 3 : [0,0,1]} From there, I'm computing similarity between (1,2) by calculating cosine between (1,1,0) and (1,1,1), yielding 0.816496 I'm doing this by: items=[1,2,3] for item in items: for sub in items: if sub >= item: #as to not calculate similarity on the inverse sim = coSim( bnb[item], bnb[sub] ) I think the brute force approach is killing me and it only runs slower as the data gets larger. Using my trusty laptop, this calculation runs for hours when dealing with 8500 users and 3500 items. I'm trying to compute similarity for all items in my dict and it's taking longer than I'd like it to. I think this is a good candidate for MapReduce but I'm having trouble 'thinking' in terms of key/value pairs. Alternatively, is the issue with my approach and not necessarily a candidate for Map Reduce?

  • Oracle - Getting Select Count(*) from ... as an output parameter in System.Data.OracleClient

    - by cbeuker
Greetings all, I have a question. I am trying to build a parametrized query to get me the number of rows from a table in Oracle. Rather simple. However I am an Oracle newbie.. I know in SQL Server you can do something like: Select @outputVariable = count(*) from sometable where name = @SomeOtherVariable and then you can set up an Output parameter in the System.Data.SqlClient to get the @outputVariable. Thinking that one should be able to do this in Oracle as well, I have the following query Select count(*) into :theCount from sometable where name = :SomeValue I set up my oracle parameters (using System.Data.OracleClient - yes I know it will be deprecated in .Net 4 - but that's what I am working with for now) as follows IDbCommand command = new OracleCommand(); command.CommandText = "Select count(*) into :theCount from sometable where name = :SomeValue"); command.CommandType = CommandType.Text; OracleParameter parameterTheCount = new OracleParameter(":theCount ", OracleType.Number); parameterTheCount .Direction = ParameterDirection.Output; command.Parameters.Add(parameterTheCount ); OracleParameter parameterSomeValue = new OracleParameter(":SomeValue", OracleType.VarChar, 40); parameterSomeValue .Direction = ParameterDirection.Input; parameterSomeValue .Value = "TheValueToLookFor"; command.Parameters.Add(parameterSomeValue ); command.Connection = myconnectionObject; command.ExecuteNonQuery(); int theCount = (int)parameterTheCount.Value; At which point I was hoping the count would be in the parameter parameterTheCount that I could readily access. I keep getting the error ora-01036 which http://ora-01036.ora-code.com tells me to check my binding in the sql statement. Am I messing something up in the SQL statement? Am I missing something simple elsewhere? I could just use command.ExecuteScaler() as I am only getting one item, and am probably going to end up using that, but at this point, curiosity has got the better of me. What if I had two parameters I wanted back from my query (ie: select max(ColA), min(ColB) into :max, :min.....) Thanks..

  • Focusing a textarea

    - by Hulk
    Int he below code a textarea is added 6 times and initially the textarea conatins the text Enter Text. My question is, if the user enters data in first and third textareas. How to give alert to the user saying that the "textareas are empty" this is a general message but focus on the 2nd textarea and when the user enters data in 2nd the next textarea should be focused. <script> function ad_R(count) { //Adding and populating table row var row = '<tr>'; row += '<td>'; row += '<textarea rows = "8" cols = "18" border ="0" class="input" style="border:none;overflow:visible;width:100%;" id="details'+count+'" nfocus="if (this.value == \'Enter text\') this.value = \'\';" onblur="if (this.value == \'\') this.value = \'Enter text\';" name ="detail'+count+'" class="row_details'+r_count+'">Enter text</textarea></td></tr>'; } $(document).ready(function() { cnt += '<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="1" width="100%" id="_table">'; cnt += '<tr>'; cnt += '<th width="30%">Category</th>'; cnt += '</tr>'; for(var i=0;i<6;i++) { cnt += add_R(6); } cnt += '</table>'; });

  • Find all substrings of a string - StringIndexOutOfBoundsException

    - by nazar_art
I created class Word. Word has a constructor that takes a string argument and one method getSubstrings which returns a String containing all substring of word, sorted by length. For example, if the user provides the input "rum", the method returns a string that will print like this: r u m ru um rum I want to concatenate the substrings in a String, separating them with a newline ("\n"). Then return the string. Code: public class Word { String word; public Word(String word) { this.word = word; } /** * Gets all the substrings of this Word. * @return all substrings of this Word separated by newline */ public String getSubstrings() { String str = ""; int i, j; for (i = 0; i < word.length(); i++) { for (j = 0; j < word.length(); j++) { str = word.substring(i, i + j); str += "\n"; } } return str; } But it throws exception: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1 at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1911) I stuck at this point. Maybe, you have other suggestions according this method signature public String getSubstrings(). How to solve this issue?

  • GRAPH PROBLEM: find an algorithm to determine the shortest path from one point to another in a recta

    - by newba
I'm getting such an headache trying to elaborate an appropriate algorithm to go from a START position to a EXIT position in a maze. For what is worth, the maze is rectangular, maxsize 500x500 and, in theory, is resolvable by DFS with some branch and bound techniques ... 10 3 4 7 6 3 3 1 2 2 1 0 2 2 2 4 2 2 5 2 2 1 3 0 2 2 2 2 1 3 3 4 2 3 4 4 3 1 1 3 1 2 2 4 2 2 1 Output: 5 1 4 2 Explanation: Our agent looses energy every time he gives a step and he can only move UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT. Also, if the agent arrives with a remaining energy of zero or less, he dies, so we print something like "Impossible". So, in the input 10 is the initial agent's energy, 3 4 is the START position (i.e. column 3, line 4) and we have a maze 7x6. Think this as a kind of labyrinth, in which I want to find the exit that gives the agent a better remaining energy (shortest path). In case there are paths which lead to the same remaining energy, we choose the one which has the small number of steps, of course. I need to know if a DFS to a maze 500x500 in the worst case is feasible with these limitations and how to do it, storing the remaining energy in each step and the number of steps taken so far. The output means the agent arrived with remaining energy= 5 to the exit pos 1 4 in 2 steps. If we look carefully, in this maze it's also possible to exit at pos 3 1 (column 3, row 1) with the same energy but with 3 steps, so we choose the better one. With these in mind, can someone help me some code or pseudo-code? I have troubles working this around with a 2D array and how to store the remaining energy, the path (or number of steps taken)....

  • How can I run a local Windows Application and have the output be piped into the Browser.

    - by Trey Sherrill
I have Windows Application (.EXE file is written in C and built with MS-Visual Studio), that outputs ASCII text to stdout. I’m looking to enhance the ASCII text to include limited HTML with a few links. I’d like to invoke this application (.EXE File) and take the output of that application and pipe it into a Browser. This is not a one time thing, each new web page would be another run of the Local Application! The HTML/java-script application below has worked for me to execute the application, but the output has gone into a DOS Box windows and not to pipe it into the Browser. I’d like to update this HTML Application to enable the Browser to capture that text (that is enhanced with HTML) and display it with the browser. <body> <script> function go() { w = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell"); w.run('C:/DL/Browser/mk_html.exe'); return true; } </script> <form> Run My Application (Window with explorer only) <input type="button" value="Go" onClick="return go()"> </FORM> </body>

  • [C#] Improving method to read signed 8-bit integers from hexadecimal.

    - by JYelton
Scenario: I have a string of hexadecimal characters which encode 8-bit signed integers. Each two characters represent a byte which employ the leftmost (MSB) bit as the sign (rather than two's complement). I am converting these to signed ints within a loop and wondered if there's a better way to do it. There are too many conversions and I am sure there's a more efficient method that I am missing. Current Code: string strData = "FFC000407F"; // example input data, encodes: -127, -64, 0, 64, 127 int v; for (int x = 0; x < strData.Length/2; x++) { v = HexToInt(strData.Substring(x * 2, 2)); Console.WriteLine(v); // do stuff with v } private int HexToInt(string _hexData) { string strBinary = Convert.ToString(Convert.ToInt32(_hexData, 16), 2).PadLeft(_hexData.Length * 4, '0'); int i = Convert.ToInt32(strBinary.Substring(1, 7), 2); i = (strBinary.Substring(0, 1) == "0" ? i : -i); return i; } Question: Is there a more streamlined and direct approach to reading two hex characters and converting them to an int when they represent a signed int (-127 to 127) using the leftmost bit as the sign?

  • Experiences with (free) embedded TCP / IP stacks?

    - by Dan
Does anyone have especially good (or bad) experiences with any of the following embedded TCP / IP stacks? uIP lwIP Bentham's TCP/IP Lean implementation The TCP/IP stack from this book My needs are for a solid, easy-to-port stack. Code size isn't terribly important, performance is relatively important, but ease of use & porting is very important. The system will probably use an RTOS, that hasn't been decided, but in my experience most stacks can be used with or without an RTOS. Most likely the platform will be an ARM variant (ARM7 or CM3 in all likelihood). Not too concerned about bolting the stack to the Ethernet driver, so that isn't a big priority in the selection. I'm not terribly interested in extracting a stack out of an OS, such as Linux, RTEMS, etc. I'm also not interested in commercial offerings such as Interniche, Micrium, etc... The stack doesn't need all sorts of bells & whistles, doesn't need IPv6, and I don't need any stuff on top of it (web servers, FTP servers, etc..) In fact it's possible that I'll only use UDP, although I can envision a couple scenarios where TCP would be preferable. Experiences with other stacks I've missed are of course also very much of interest. Thanks for your time & input.

  • how to implement word count bash shell

    - by codemax
hey guys. I am trying to write my own code for the word count in bash shell. I did usual way. But i wanna use pipe's output to count the word. So for eg the 1st command is cat and i am redirecting to a file called med. Now i have to use to 'dup2' function to count the words in that file. How can i write the code for my wc? This is the code for my shell pgm : void process( char* cmd[], int arg_count ) { pid_t pid; pid = fork(); char path[81]; getcwd(path,81); strcat(path,"/"); strcat(path,cmd[0]); if(pid < 0) { cout << "Fork Failed" << endl; exit(-1); } else if( pid == 0 ) { int fd; fd =open("med", O_RDONLY); dup2(fd ,0); execvp( path, cmd ); } else { wait(NULL); } } And my wordcount is : int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { char ch; int count = 0; ifstream infile(argv[1]); while(!infile.eof()) { infile.get(ch); if(ch == ' ') { count++; } } return 0; } I dont know how to do input redirection i want my code to do this : When i just type wordcount in my shell implementation, I want it to count the words in the med file by default. Thanks in advance

  • Using $.get with jquery validation

    - by Jimmy McCarthy
I'm trying to use the Jquery builtin validator on my page. The issue is that I have certain fields that only are required if the JobID (entered into another field) does not already exist in our database. I have a simple service which simply takes JobID and returns True or False based on whether the JobID exists, but I can't seem to get this information where I want it. Some sample code: $("#dep_form").validate({ rules: { JobID: { required: true, digits: true, minlength: 3 }, OrgName: { required: function(element) { //This field is required if the JobID is new. return $("#jobinfo").html().length==15; } } }, messages: { JobID: { required: "Enter a Job Number.", digits: "Only numbers are allowed in Job ID's.", minlength: "Job Number must be at least 3 digits" }, OrgName: { required: "Select a Practice from the dropdown list." } }, errorClass: "ui-state-error-input", errorLabelContainer: "#errorbox", errorElement: 'li', errorContainer: "#validation_errors", onfocusout: false, onkeyup: false, focusinvalid: false }; Currently, I'm using a lazy method to validate (shown above). However, I now have access to a service using the URL: var lookupurl = "/deposits/jobidvalidate/?q=" + $("#id_JobID").val() + "&t=" + new Date().getTime(); which is a page which will contain just the word True or False based on whether that given JobID exists. I've tried half a dozen different ways of setting variables and calling functions within functions and still cannot get a way to simply return the value of that page (which I've been trying to access with $.get() ) to my validator, so that required is set to true when the Job does not exist and false if the job already exists. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Versioned RDF store

    - by Mat
Let me try rephrasing this: I am looking for a robust RDF store or library with the following features: Named graphs, or some other form of reification. Version tracking (probably at the named graph level). Privacy between groups of users, either at named graph or triple level. Human-readable data input and output, e.g. TriG parser and serialiser. I've played with Jena, Sesame, Boca, RDFLib, Redland and one or two others some time ago but each had its problems. Have any improved in the above areas recently? Can anything else do what I want, or is RDF not yet ready for prime-time? Reading around the subject a bit more, I've found that: Jena, nothing further Sesame, nothing further Boca does not appear to be maintained any more and seems only really designed for DB2. OpenAnzo, an open-source fork, appears more promising. RDFLib, nothing further Redland, nothing further Talis Platform appears to support changesets (wiki page and reference in Kniblet Tutorial Part 5) but it's a hosted-only service. Still may look into it though. SemVersion sounded promising, but appears to be stale.

  • DDD and MVC: Difference between 'Model' and 'Entity'

    - by Nathan Loding
I'm seriously confused about the concept of the 'Model' in MVC. Most frameworks that exist today put the Model between the Controller and the database, and the Model almost acts like a database abstraction layer. The concept of 'Fat Model Skinny Controller' is lost as the Controller starts doing more and more logic. In DDD, there is also the concept of a Domain Entity, which has a unique identity to it. As I understand it, a user is a good example of an Entity (unique userid, for instance). The Entity has a life-cycle -- it's values can change throughout the course of the action -- and then it's saved or discarded. The Entity I describe above is what I thought Model was supposed to be in MVC? How off-base am I? To clutter things more, you throw in other patterns, such as the Repository pattern (maybe putting a Service in there). It's pretty clear how the Repository would interact with an Entity -- how does it with a Model? Controllers can have multiple Models, which makes it seem like a Model is less a "database table" than it is a unique Entity. So, in very rough terms, which is better? No "Model" really ... class MyController { public function index() { $repo = new PostRepository(); $posts = $repo->findAllByDateRange('within 30 days'); foreach($posts as $post) { echo $post->Author; } } } Or this, which has a Model as the DAO? class MyController { public function index() { $model = new PostModel(); // maybe this returns a PostRepository? $posts = $model->findAllByDateRange('within 30 days'); while($posts->getNext()) { echo $posts->Post->Author; } } } Both those examples didn't even do what I was describing above. I'm clearly lost. Any input?

  • Trying to return data asynchronously using jQuery AND jSon in MVC 2.0

    - by Calibre2010
Hi, I am trying to use Jquerys getJSON method to return data server side to my browser, what happens is the url the getJSON method points to does get reached but upon the postback the result does not get returned to the browser for some odd reason. I wasen't sure if it was because I was using MVC 2.0 and jQuery 1.4.1 and it differs to the MVC 1.0 version and jQuerys 1.3.2 version. . this is the code sections Controller public JsonResult StringReturn() { NameDTO myName = new NameDTO(); myName.nameID = 1; myName.name= "James"; myName.nameDescription = "Jmaes"; return Json(myName); } View with JQuery <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $("#myButton").click(function () { $.getJSON("Home/StringReturn/", null, function (data) { alert(data.name); $("#show").append($("<div>" + data.name + "</div>")); }); }); }); </script> HTML <input type="button" value="clickMe" id="myButton"/> <div id="show">d</div>

  • Remove CKEdit Instance

    - by Laramie
I have an issue creating multiple instances of CKEdit with different toolbars wherein the second instance created is replacing the toolbar of the first. Unfortunately I can only reproduce it in a huge page containing update panels, which I suspect is the issue. That said, the issue at this point is I can't seem to destroy instances of CKEdit per the documentation. Consider the following: <input name="txt1" type="text" id="txt1" /><br /> <a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="create()">Create</a><br /> <a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="destroy()">Destroy</a> <script type= "text/javascript" > <!-- function create() { var hEd = CKEDITOR.instances['txt1']; if (hEd) { CKEDITOR.remove(hEd); } hEd = CKEDITOR.replace('txt1'); } function destroy(){ var hEd = CKEDITOR.instances['txt1']; if (hEd) { CKEDITOR.remove(hEd); } } --> </script> When destroy() runs, CKEDITOR.remove(hEd); is being called. Multiple clicks to create() produce multiple instances of CKEditor on screen, but their instances no longer appear in CKEDITOR.instances. Am I missing something?

  • ASP.NET validators alignment issue

    - by Mahesh
Hi, I am developing contactus webpage which have a input field called Email. It is validated against a required field validator and regular expression validator with appropriate messages. Required: Enter Email Regular Expression: Invalid Email I am setting these two as given below: <asp:TextBox ID="txtEmail" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <font color="#FF0000">*</font> <asp:RequiredFieldValidator ID="rfvemail" CssClass="error_text" ControlToValidate="txtEmail" runat="server" ErrorMessage="Enter email address."></asp:RequiredFieldValidator> <asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="revemail" runat="server" ControlToValidate="txtEmail" ErrorMessage="Invalid Email" ValidationExpression="\w+([-+.]\w+)*@\w+([-.]\w+)*\.\w+([-.]\w+)*"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator> My problem is both Enter Email and Invalid Email is occupying its own space. For Ex: If I leave email as empty space and press submit, Enter Email is displaying right next to it. If I enter invalid email(xxx), Enter Email is off but taking the space, Invalid Email message is displayed after these space taken by 'Enter Email' before. Is there any way to remove this space?? • add new option to dropdownlist after jquery dialog and post

    - by RememberME
I have a form to enter subcontracts. On this form I have a dropdownlist of all companies in the system. Next to it is a button "Create Company". This button opens a jquery dialog which allows the user to create a new company. Once the dialog closes, the new company needs to be added to the dropdownlist and selected. If I refresh, it's there, but I need to do it without refreshing the form b/c I don't want the user to loose everything that they've entered into the other fields. I'm not sure how to do this b/c I don't have the guid of the new company. My jquery dialog: $('#popupCreateCompany').dialog( { autoOpen: false, modal: true, buttons: { 'Add': function() { var dialog = $(this); var form = dialog.find('input:text, select'); $.post('/company/create', $(form).serialize(), function() { dialog.dialog('close'); }) }, 'Cancel': function() { $(this).dialog('close'); } } }); $("#create-company").click(function() { $('#popupCreateCompany').dialog('open'); }); Company field: <label for="company">Company:</label> <%= Html.DropDownList("company", Model.SelectCompanies, "** Select Company **") %> <%= Html.ValidationMessage("Company", "*") %> <button type="button" id="create-company" >Create Company</button>

As I can see, for MVC validation 0 is invalid, but for me is valid. How can I fix it since, I didn't put any kind of validation in Id property? UPDATE: I don't know how or why, but renaming Id, in my case to PK, solves this problem. Do you know if this an issue in my logic/configuration or is an bug or expected behavior? Thank you

Here's the code: <form id="myform"> <input /> </form> <button>My Button</button> All this button should do is some JavaScript. But even when it looks just like in the code above, it submits the form. When I change the tag button to span, it works perfectly. But unfortunately, it needs to be a button. Is there any way to block that button from submitting the form? Like e. g. <button onclick="document.getElementById('myform').doNotSubmit();">My Button</button> Thanks in advance!

  • Calculate car filled up times

    - by Ivan
Here is the question: The driving distance between Perth and Adelaide is 1996 miles. On the average, the fuel consumption of a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder car is 8 litres per 100 kilometres. The fuel tank capacity of such a car is 60 litres. Design and implement a JAVA program that prompts for the fuel consumption and fuel tank capacity of the aforementioned car. The program then displays the minimum number of times the car’s fuel tank has to be filled up to drive from Perth to Adelaide. Note that 62 miles is equal to 100 kilometres. What data will you use to test that your algorithm works correctly? Here is what I've done so far: import java.util.Scanner;// public class Ex4{ public static void main( String args[] ){ Scanner input = new Scanner( System.in ); double distance, consumption, capacity, time; distance = Math.sqrt(1996/62*100); consumption = Math.sqrt(8/100); capacity = 60; time = Math.sqrt(distance*consumption/capacity); System.out.println("The car's fuel tank need to be filled up:" + time + "times"); } } I can compile it but the problem is that the result is always 0.0, can anyone help me what's wrong with it ?

    - by Don Bakke
I'm teaching myself MVC concepts in hopes of applying them to a non-OO/procedural development environment. I am pretty sure I understand simple View - Request - Controller - Request - Model - Response - Controller - Response - View flow. What I am struggling with is understanding more complex scenarios. For instance, let's say I have a shopping cart form with a button for 'Calculate Shipping'. Normally a click on this button will follow the above flow. But what if there is missing data, like the zip code? Should the View verify this first and alert the user before making a 'Calculate Shipping' request? Or should the request be made and the Model returns a notification that critical data is missing? If the latter, does the Controller instruct the View to alert the user? What if I wanted to prompt the user for the missing zip code (perhaps in a popup input display) and then automatically request the 'Calculate Shipping' method again? I suppose this gets into the question of how smart a View ought to be. It seems that MVC has evolved due to richer UI and automation (such as with data-binding) and this muddies the water from a purist MVC perspective. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

  • process of connecting RTP with SIP via SDP & land lines

    - by TacB0sS
Hello to everyone, I have a problem with starting a media session and to combine it with my SIP client. I've designed a recursive SIP client that reuse the same request template to send the next requests to server, according to the acceptable sequences noted in the RFC's, and examples that I read. as far as I could tell the SIP part is working fine registers to server invites, and authenticates. I didn't complete any calls to clients yet because of the content header needs to be filled up (which I didn't yet so I get a 503 from the server which is OK I guess). for a long time I didn't know where to start with the media session, and slowly learned how to use the JMF and I've constructed an object that handles RTP transmitting, now I'm standing at the cross road, on the one hand I have my SIP signaling but it needs the SDP content header to complete the invite, and on the other I have the RTP which is knows how to p2p. For me to complete my design I require your help with the following questions: Is there an easy//a simple//an implemented way to convert the Audio/Video format from the JMF into SDP media headers? or even a generator that I would input all the parameters for the content header, and it would generate a content header fast, or do I have to implement this myself? Once I've finished constructing the SDK and the SIP is up and running and I get an OK response from the server (after ringing and all), how do I start the media session? do I connect p2p according to caller details I send in the SIP invite? If 2 is correct, then how does a connection to land lines would be? does land lines knows that once they send an OK back to server they listen/start RTP session on a specific port? Or did I get everything wrong? :-/ I really appreciate any help I could I get, I looked every where for answers but they are not clear, they ignore question 2 as if it was an obvious thing, but for me it just isn't. Thank in advance, Adam Zehavi.

  • Good hash function for a 2d index

    - by rlbond
I have a struct called Point. Point is pretty simple: struct Point { Row row; Column column; // some other code for addition and subtraction of points is there too } Row and Column are basically glorified ints, but I got sick of accidentally transposing the input arguments to functions and gave them each a wrapper class. Right now I use a set of points, but repeated lookups are really slowing things down. I want to switch to an unordered_set. So, I want to have an unordered_set of Points. Typically this set might contain, for example, every point on a 80x24 terminal = 1920 points. I need a good hash function. I just came up with the following: struct PointHash : public std::unary_function<Point, std::size_t> { result_type operator()(const argument_type& val) const { return val.row.value() * 1000 + val.col.value(); } }; However, I'm not sure that this is really a good hash function. I wanted something fast, since I need to do many lookups very quickly. Is there a better hash function I can use, or is this OK?
