  • Big and reaaaally strange problem with a web server (host InMotion Hosting)

    Hi. I have a terrible problem that I have tried to solve since three days ago: I browse my own web site and after a while I cannot access the web site. AT ALL! I can only see a 501 error message: "Method Not Implemented. GET to / not supported. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." Once I get that error the site is totally and permanently inaccessible in that browser!! Reboot, browser restarts, clear cache, clear all history and cookies, etc., are not working. I have reproduced it in 4 different computers. Three computers are in one city, the 4th is in another city. Two different ISP's also. One computer is Linux, the others are on Windows (XP and 2000). Browsers are FF 3 to FF3.5 and IE 8. The error is ALMOST reproducible on demand (for me at least). It appears when I browse the forum under certain circumstances. I don't know which are these circumstances, but if I browse it long enough (10 sec to 5 minutes) it eventually appears. Just to make it clear, once the error appears (while browsing the forum) then the whole web site become inaccessible, not only the forum! My host is not willing to help because they say they cannot reproduce the error. I sent screenoshots but they don't care. NEWS Reseting browser's settings from the 'Tools-Clear private data' din't worked. However! When I have cleared the same settings (more exaclty) cookies from the special menu that appears when you right click website's icon, it worked. So it was something related to a cookie BUT it manifests in all browsers (FF, IE, Opera). So it cannot be a browser related problem.

    Ok, so I upgraded to 12.10 and have been trying out Unity, my screen has become a complete mess of folders and files. "Back in the day" the folders that were on my screen were the ones shown in the .Desktop directory now it seems like all the files in my login directory are there (that is a lot of files) Is there some way to set the files being diplayed to come from a specific directory? if so how? I think I've gone through every panel of the system settings application.

  • Good bitmap fonts with big sizes and unicode support

    I really like bitmap fonts for programming/terminal. As far as I know there are two bitmap fonts with good unicode support: Unifont Fixed The problem is that I have a really high resolution screen, and they're both too small. Fixed does include a large size (10x20) but it looks really bad (it's basically always bold, and bold is a different face). Are there any other bitmap fonts with unicode support and large sizes? Terminus is the only font with a decent size but it doesn't have good unicode support. Having good coverage for mathematical symbols would be enough, since that's what I need.

  • Ubuntu One doesn't show captcha in windows 7

    I try to set up a new U1 account in W7. However, the sign on screen reports "There was a problem getting the captcha, reloading" - but nothing seems to happen. I tried it on two different computers (in the same home network). Same result. Anything to do or is U1 for W7 corrupt? Also experiencing this problem. Trying to install latest U1 on brand new Toshiba Win7 laptops at work and the captcha field is simply blank, there is nothing to copy. Tried refresh, restart, reload and different browsers (Firefox 13, IE9) and nothing improved the situtation. Without being able to see the captcha I cannot do anything at all and will have to use silverlight if I can't overcome this.

    Each page on my site contains a file, and I have Google Analytics set up to track file download events. I would like to see what fraction of users who visit Page X download Page X's file. I can view number of events by page by clicking on Content » Events » Pages. But I can't figure out how to see both events and pageviews (or visits) at the same time. Visits and pageviews are not available in the Secondary dimension dropdown from the Events list, and Events are not available as a Secondary dimension in the regular traffic listing (Content » Site Content » All Pages). I want something like this: Page Pageviews Events 1. /section/mypage 1,000 123 2. /category/anotherpage 867 41 3. /about/download 88 7 Is there a way to get this in Google Analytics?—to view events and pageviews, by page, at the same time?

But it is possible to copy only one screen in FAR viewer. What can be used for this purpose? It should be GUI and freeware. UPDATE: We need to have ability navigate over the file and see updates of the file in the meantime (eg tail -f)

Is it even considered acceptable to have a connection initiated from the DMZ come inside of your network? An extra detail about the nature of the site that kind of throws a monkey wrench into the machinery is that people using the web site will be competing for "spots" on a first-come, first-serve basis with others using the internal software. Because of this, as close to zero lag time between the two applications as possible is ideal.

I haven't been able to access Ubuntu 12.04 since Windows 8.1 did some updates a few weeks back. Grub shows up and I can't see windows 8.1. How can I add Windows 8 using Boot Repair? I figured out how to install boot-repair in Ubuntu 14.04 by doing this workaround: https://bugs.launchpad.net/boot-repair/+bug/1267702 Most important thing: How can I add Windows 8.1 to the Grub menu using Boot Repair?     Possible Duplicate: How do you do Load Testing and Capacity Planning for Web Sites I’m working on a community platform writen in PHP, MySQL. I have some questions about the server usage maybe someone can help me out. The community is based on JQuery with many ajax requests to update content. It makes 5 - 10 AJAX(Json, GET, POST) requests every 5 seconds, the requests fetch user data like user notifications and messages by doing mySQL queries. I wonder how a server will handle this when there are for more than 5000 users online. Then it will be 50.000 requests every 5 seconds, what kind of server you need to handle this? Or maybe even more, when there are 15.000 users online, 150.000 requests every 5 seconds. My webserver have the following specs. Xeon Quad 2048MB 5000GB traffic Will it be good enough, and for how many users? Anyone can help me out or know where to find such information, like make a calculation?

    In my game, when I pause the game using mEngine.stop() it works perfectly but when I press resume button that has code mEngine.start() it provide some movement to the physics body. So the created body does not stand at its desire position after the resuming the game. That fault I have found in other game developed by other developer also. So please provide some guidance for it. You will see it as such: C#: MyClass.Instance Java: MyClass.getInstance() The question is: when writing APIs, is it better to expose the singleton through a property or getter, or should I hide it as much as possible? Great! Please tell me why and what is the better alternative. Here is my scenario: My whole application utilises one logger (log4net/log4j). Whenever, the program has something to log, it utilises the Logger class (e.g. Logger.Instance.Warn(...) or Logger.Instance.Error(...) etc. Should I use Logger.Warn(...) or Logger.Warn(...) instead?   • Gnome 3.10 doesn't show login, Ubuntu 13.10

    I use gnome as default desktop. And I recently upgrade Ubuntu to 13.10 then upgraded gnome to 3.10. Upon restarting, it brings me to the gnome log in screen (GDM) and all I see is the top banner part so like your date, music volume, option to restart, suspend or shutdown. Hitting control+alt+delete tells me gnome display manager will log out - it does but still nothing. I am on the log in screen, but there is no user to select, like there normally is or was. I can boot into safe mode and drop down to shell but I am not sure what commands I would enter to get the login screen back. I am using the gnome PPA's and the "unstable" PPA, so I expected issues, but not this - ideas?

Everything went smoothly and I was given the "for installation to finish, need to reboot" screen. I removed the flash drive, the PC restarted. I was expecting to be greeted with the menu where I choose the OS I want to launch, but instead the Windows happily starts.

  • INtegral card readers have drivers installed but do not show on my computer

    I recenlty fixed a computer powerbutton and accidentally unplugged a sd card reader and did not know where was at (didnt knw if it was usb or firewire/ after i found out, i guess i installed it on a different usb so reinstalled the drivers..Drivers show installed successfully, ready to use. but THey do not show up on my computer as removable disks (E:) etc.a s they should I have windows 7 home premium 64 bits. the computer is a Acer Aspire M1201-be50001a. I tried following the installation and they show up while installing and then hide again. Any help is appreciated Thanks in advance.

  • Wikipedia Images don't show up in browsers

    It's a weird issue with wikipedia which had left me frustrated. When I go to wikipedia, with different browsers ( IE8, Chrome3, Opera10 ) no image in the site will show up. Even right-clicking the image to ( show, save, open in new tab/window ) will return nothing except when open in new tab/window I'll get a black horizontal line across the page. All my browsing across the web goes flawlessly, and every image in every site show up normally except in the wikipedia site. I have win7 ultimate with all updates.

    The "Show In Finder" action isn't working on Mac OS X Mountain Lion. The problem has just started to occur all the time, before it was a bit sporadic, but now it happens all the time. Things that don't work: In the chrome Downloads page clicking any of the "Show in Finder" links. Right clicking a file in XCode and choosing "Show in Finder" Things that work: open . in terminal command-n after command tabbing to Finder. Things I've tried to fix the issue: Opt - Right Click finder in the dock and relauching Restarting my computer Anybody ever experienced this issue?
