  • Need help to format the result page after searching

    Hi, I have built a small text based search engine on ROR which will display relevant records having a specified search word in it.since few of the records has more than 1000 words i have truncated each result set to 200 characters.My views file search.html.erb looks like this <% @results_with_ranks.each do |result| -%> <% content_id = rtable.find(result[0]).content_id %> <% content= Content.find(content_id) %> <%= truncate content.body, :length => 200 %><br/> <p> Record id <%= content.id %></p> <hr style="color:blue"> <% end -%> I want to provide an option so that whenever any truncated record is selected its entire body has to be displayed. I also want to paginate the result page displaying some fixed number of records per page.Can any body help me in doing this? Thanks in advance.

    I need to convert a credit card expire field from MMYY to a date field I can use in a MS SQL query so I can compute when credit cards are expiring in the future. Basically, I need to go from MMYY to MM/DD/YYYY, where the day part could just be '01' (the first of the month). I'm looking for credit cards that are expiring next month from a database. The problem I'm running into is when next month is the first month of the next year.     NSLog function accepts printf format specifiers. My question is about %x specifier. Does this print hex codes as sequence on memory? Or does it have it's own printing sequence style? unsigned int a = 0x000000FF; NSLog(@"%x", a); Results of above code on little or big endian processors are equal or different? And how about NSString's -initWithFormat method? Does it follows this rule equally?

  • Determining which video format to use

    I want to upload a video file and convert it to flash and 3gp/mp4. No problem, plenty of tuts for this out there using paperclip and ffmpeg. For some reason I thought there was a tut that showed if std browser play flv but if mobile then use 3gp/mp4 but can't seem to find it. Any one know if there is a tut like this out there? Else, Can I tell paperclip which is flv and 3gp/mp4. Then later call something in the view like video_url(:flv) or video_url(:mp4) or set this globally if mobile?

    I am having some trouble with using h:selectOneRadio. I have a list of objects which is being returned which needs to be displayed. I am trying something like this: <h:selectOneRadio id="selectPlan" layout="pageDirection"> <f:selectItems value="#{detailsHandler.planList}" /> </h:selectOneRadio> and planList is a List of Plans. Plan is defined as: public class Plan { protected String id; protected String partNumber; protected String shortName; protected String price; protected boolean isService; protected boolean isOption; //With all getters/setters } The text that must appear for each radio button is actually in a properties file, and I need to insert params in the text to fill out some value in the bean. For example the text in my properties file is: plan_price=The price of this plan is {0}. I was hoping to do something like this: <f:selectItems value="<h:outputFormat value="#{i18n.plan_price}"> <f:param value="#{planHandler.price}"> </h:outputFormat>" /> Usually if it's not a h:selectOneRadio component, if it's just text I use the h:outputFormat along with f:param tags to display the messages in my .property file called i18n above, and insert a param which is in the backing bean. here this does not work. Does anyone have any ideas how I can deal with this? I am being returned a list of Plans each with their own prices and the text to be displayed is held in property file. Any help much appreciated. StartDate > 01/SEP/2009 EndDate < 1/OCT/2009 I dont get any result for the first input. When I change it to second one i get the result. What is the difference between 01/OCT/2009 1/OCT/2009

  • using respond_to format.js to replace the content of a textarea on rails

    I have some saved text in my create controller. If it's not stressful, I'd like it to populate a textarea on the page with the saved text along with displaying the error message fields (which is what's already happening). I've used things like replace_html before, but I don't know if there's an easy way to get to textarea or text field IDs and just replace the value of the text. For now I'm just going to do some javascript but it would be nice to know the rails shortcut. edit: I wasn't in the right mindset because this app uses extjs and was trying to figure out how to do it this way. The text box is actually an ext status bar (same as here : http://www.extjs.com/deploy/dev/examples/statusbar/statusbar-demo.html ) which doesn't get created until the page is finished loading. When I try to enter commnands like the first poster suggested, I get "setvalue is not a function". Playing with firebug on the page I can get it to set the value after loading by using (whatever method to get it through ext or scriptaculous).value = "lol" but none of the page update things work with this.

  • C# PCL rendering into TIFF (or other image format)

    I'm looking for the best solution -- and perhaps the cheapest also -- to take PCL5e and PCL6 compliant code and render it into a TIFF image. Reliably. Does anyone have any experience with the PCLTool SDK from PageTech (http://www.pagetech.com/pcl.php)? This looks to be the best I can find, but I'm not sure how flexible it really is. The other options is trying to write my own interface, which would be a BEAST of a project and not one I really want to try to tackle. Any open-source solutions out there? Anyone with a C#/.NET project having success with PCL rendering? If so, how?

  • Format table header

    I have a table with slanted text in the header row, the only problem is that the text still makes the width of the columns way to large. Is there any way to squish together the table columns so that they are about the width of the select boxes? Or is there a way to place the text there without it in the header and maybe just use a <div> or <p>?
