  I absolutely lived on the ' shortcut in Firefox, which allows you to do a find that applies to text links, and it focuses on them so you can hit Enter and proceed to that link. Chrome only has ctrl-f which focuses on links as well, but you have to ESC out and then hit Enter, which is not as immediate as the Firefox shortcut. Is anyone aware of a Chrome shortcut that replicates this functionality? Or is there some hidden shortcut/key that does this in Chrome which I'm simply unaware of?

  I want Firefox to redirect bad and broken links to Google search instead of the "Can't find the server" page. If it takes an add-on, that's okay. When you enter a bad or broken link in Google Chrome, the browser takes you to a search results page with all possibly relevant links to the request attempted. Please don't suggest the search-tool-bar, I am aware of it. And it's not really significant in this scenario.

  A few .rpmnew files are being created after performing an upgrade of the Fedora OS. The normal procedure for merging .rpmnew files into the original ones is to compare the differences, make the necessary changes to the configuration on the .rpmnew files, and replace the original files with the new ones. However, the files contained in /etc/pam.d are links to files with same the filename appended with -ac, example: password-auth links to password-auth-ac and has password-auth.rpmnew as upgrade. How do I go about merging these files?

But unfortunatelly, often on this kind of sites, you have links which get lost that way. So I'm wondering, is there a way to save in the same manner whole blog posts, wiki posts, StackOverflow posts :), as PDF files, so the links get saved as well ?

Basically the problem is that my basement is not wired up to let me hook up my cable modem. I have some electronics that do not have wireless and need a LAN wire.   Hey all this is a repost from a question I asked on the cisco forums but never got a useful reply. Hey I'm trying to convert the FreeBSD servers at work to dual-gig lagg links from regular gigabit links. Our production servers are on a 3560. I have a small test environment on a 3550. I have achieved fail-over, but am having troubles achieving the speed increase. All servers are running gig intel (em) cards. The configs for the servers are: BSDServer: #!/bin/sh #bring up both interfaces ifconfig em0 up media 1000baseTX mediaopt full-duplex ifconfig em1 up media 1000baseTX mediaopt full-duplex #create the lagg interface ifconfig lagg0 create #set lagg0's protocol to lacp, add both cards to the interface, #and assign it em1's ip/netmask ifconfig lagg0 laggproto lacp laggport em0 laggport em1 ***.***.***.*** netmask 255.255.255.0 The switches are configured as follows: #clear out old junk no int Po1 default int range GigabitEthernet 0/15 - 16 # config ports interface range GigabitEthernet 0/15 - 16 description lagg-test switchport duplex full speed 1000 switchport access vlan 192 spanning-tree portfast channel-group 1 mode active channel-protocol lacp **** switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q **** no shutdown exit interface Port-channel 1 description lagginterface switchport access vlan 192 exit port-channel load-balance src-mac end obviously change 1000's to 100's and GigabitEthernet to FastEthernet for the 3550's config, as that switch has 100Mbit speed ports. With this config on the 3550, I get failover and 92Mbits/sec speed on both links, simultaneously, connecting to 2 hosts.(tested with iperf) Success. However this is only with the "switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q" line. First, I do not understand why I need this, I thought it was only for connecting switches. Is there some other setting which this turns on that is actually responsible for the speed increase? Second, This config does not work on the 3560. I get failover, but not the speed increase. Speeds drop from gig/sec to 500Mbit/sec when I make 2 simultaneous connections to the server with or without the encapsulation line. I should mention that both switches are using source-mac load balancing. In my test I am using Iperf. I have the server(lagg box) setup as the server(iperf -s), and the client computers are client(iperf -c server-ip-address), so the source mac(and IP) are different for both connections. Any ideas/corrections/questions would be helpful, as the gig switches are what I actually need the lagg links on. Ask if you need more information.

• Use an audio/video file from a Linux laptop via USB to be played by Magic Sing ET-23H

  I am one of the technical directors of a regular karaoke contest event. For the karaoke contest itself, due to tight budget, we are using what one of the sponsors are providing - Magic Sing ET-23H . The video output of the Magic Sing ET-23H are broadcasted at two big screens that are being shown to the audience and event attendees. When a karaoke contestant provides his / her karaoke video, the video itself is in a readable USB flashdrive and is attached to the USB input of Magic Sing ET-23H. What really bugs me is that the interface of Magic Sing ET-23H are also being broadcasted at the big screen video feeds. The interface of choosing the video file is being seen in the Magic Sing ET-23H - also to the big video screens that are seen by the audience and event goers. I will post in the comments ( if my less than 10 reputation would allow me) the picture of Magic Sing ET-23KH USB input of the device. I always bring my laptop, Acer AS5742-7653, during the regular karaoke event. I'm using my laptop also for tallying of scores from the judges, and also playing audio files from contestants that did not provide a karaoke video. I personally am using different Linux distros, but I next to all the time use my Ubuntu Studio 12.04.3 64bit partition during the regular karaoke contest event. My question is this: Is there a way I can share a temporary video/audio file directly from the laptop I'm using, going to the Magic Sing ET-23H that can broadcast both the video/audio file? Just like how in Window's Avisynth AVS files, or VirtualDub's temporary avi file, or like using ffplay (of ffmpeg), etc. I have researched somewhat the matter and found links in SuperUser.com. Though I can only provide the links at the comments section of this post if my reputation of less than 10 would allow me. I have a hunch it is possible, but I have not fully understood the device being used at the event, Magic Sing ET-23H, if there are other ways for it to broadcast video and audio files besides its USB input. Any help to my current predicament is highly appreciated. Thank you. • How can I preserve share paths when moving a share to a new server?

However, in sharepoint there are a lot of links that refer to the old server by name, ie, \\server1\accounts. The links specify the filename and worksheet to open, in the following format (path and link information omitted): ExcelFileName#'SheetName'!$A$1 This works fine with Excel 2003, but we're moving to Excel 2007, which won't even open the file if that extra information is present. I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on whether this feature has been removed (or the syntax changed) in 2007. Any help will be highly appreciated!

  I have scripted a process that involves updating symbolic links on files located on 3 different machines. On those machines exists 4 users each, who each need to have these links updated. Using su, is there a way to pass the password argument to the command on a single line, without invoking sudo as the users will not have admin rights?   how to force php to read SERVER_PORT as 80, when apache listens on 8080 and varnish listens on 80 ?? if my apache vhost is set to 8080, SERVER_PORT will always be 8080, this is troubling me a little since in many parts of the application some links are calculated with SERVER_NAME and SERVER_PORT together, .. so what I need is that php "believes" that SERVER_PORT is 80, so all links will pass trough varnish regards Daniel

• Can thousands of backlinks from the same site harm PageRank?

  I just noticed that one particular site has almost 7000 backlinks linking back to our website. The site is something like a news aggregator and for each post they created around 20 (sometimes much more) backlinks back to our page and they basically linked over 400 pages. I am beginning to get concerned that this amount of links might harm our page. They seem to have more backlinks to our page than all the other pages combined and more backlinks that our website has pages. We have seen a massive negative effect going on for quite a while and the PageRank seems to have dropped to None (Not even 0). But I am not sure when and why exactly that happened seeing that PageRank updates take quite a while to appear. The site linking to us is otherwise pretty reputable and doesn't seem to be having any problems with their rank. (PR 6 actually) I was thinking of using the Google disavow tool for this site, but I don't want to make things even worse. Do you think these are harmful? If so, how do I fix this? Thanks :)

  At the company I work for, we have an intranet that provides employees with access to a wide variety of documents. These documents fall into several categories and subcategories, and each of these categories have their own web page. Below is one such page (each of the links shown will link to a similar view for that category): We currently store each document as a file on the web server and hand-code links to these documents whenever we need to add a new document. This is tedious and error-prone, and it also means we lack any sort of security for accessing these documents. I began looking into document management systems (like KnowledgeTree and OpenKM), however, none of these systems seem to provide a categorized view like in the preview above. My question is ... does anyone know of any Document Management System that allow for the type of flexibility we currently have with hand-coding links to our documents into various webpages (major and minor , while also providing security, ease of use, and (less important) version control? Or do you think I'd be better off developing such a system from scratch?

• Android Webview Anchor Link (Jump link) not working

  Hi, I have a WebView in my Android App that is loading an HTML string using the loadDataWithBaseURL() method. The problem is that local anchor links (<a href="#link">...) are not working correctly. When the link is clicked, it becomes highlighted, but does not scroll to the corresponding anchor. This also does not work if I use the WebView's loadUrl() method to load a page that contains anchor links. However, if I load the same URL in the browser, the anchor links do work. Is there any special handling required to get these to work for a WebView? I am using API v4 (1.6).
