    Can anyone recommend a plugin or library that allows people to upload images which automatically gets cropped and resized? I don't mind editting some config files to specify how images should be cropped and resized. Additionally, after uploading, the front end user should be able to drag and drop for re-ordering. Can someone recommend something that works with php?

    Hello Experts, Developing using MVC-3, Razor, C# Been searching around and cannot find advice I'm looking for. My site will contain user-uploaded images (possibly a high number). What is the best practice for managing these pictures (placement, breakdown into sub-folders, etc...)? Where do I place them that will prevent them from getting accidentally blown away if I republish my site periodically? If there are any good articles or blog posts, that would be helpful.     .Net has the built in ToShortDateString() function for DateTime that uses the CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.DateTimeFormat.ShortTimePattern format. It returns something like this for en-US: "5:00 pm". For a 24 hour culture such as de-DE it would return "17:00". What I want is a way to just return just the hour (So "5 pm" and "17" in the cases above) that works with every culture. What's the best/cleanest way to do this? Thanks!

    I load many images simultaneously with different Loader class. When loaded I add content of loaders to the movieclips which are child of some other movieclip which is child other... I check that images are loaded addChild method is called, but loaded images cannot be seen on the screen. Actually, sometimes images can be seen, but sometimes cannot be seen. Do I need to rerender some DisplayObject? Something similar...

  • django/python: is one view that handles two sibling models a good idea?

    I am using django multi-table inheritance: Video and Image are models derived from Media. I have implemented two views: video_list and image_list, which are just proxies to media_list. media_list returns images or videos (based on input parameter model) for a certain object, which can be of type Event, Member, or Crag. The view alters its behaviour based on input parameter action (better name would be mode), which can be of value "edit" or "view". The problem is that I need to ask whether the input parameter model contains Video or Image in media_list so that I can do the right thing. Similar condition is also in helper method media_edit_list that is called from the view. I don't particularly like it but the only alternative I can think of is to have separate (but almost the same) logic for video_list and image_list and then probably also separate helper methods for videos and images: video_edit_list, image_edit_list, video_view_list, image_view_list. So four functions instead of just two. That I like even less because the video functions would be very similar to the respective image functions. What do you recommend? I`we read that Silverlight 4.0 offers new Clipboard API, but there is only support for Unicode-text, not images. Is there a way to achieve this task without forcing user to manually print screen and than paste to other applicatons.
