    If I'm returning ["foo"] from a RESTful web query, Which of these is more proper? Will pedantic REST parsing die on the newline? ["foo"]\n (with newline, Content-Length=8) ["foo"] (no newline, Content-Length=7) For easy regression testing I like the form with the newline, but I want to make sure I won't be breaking any application frameworks that might have a more strict view of the REST format.

  • Mobile web - hidden numerical input

    Hi I am writing a web app (mainly iphone targeted) where the user has to enter their dob as part of the log in, I need this to be <input type = 'password'however I also want to enable the numeric section of the keyboard. I would usually change the type attr to 'number' however as this needs to be hidden I wondered if there was another way to activate the numeric pad Cheers! (ps I do not want to use any frameworks such as jquery on this)

  • What features would you like to see removed from C++?

    This question was inspired by what-features-would-you-like-to-see-added-to-c. anBasically, C++ is a great general-purpose language. But perhaps too general and feature-rich... multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could just go on. Is there any one feature / aspect of C++ that you would like taken away, to make our lives easier as C++ developers? One feature per answer, please.

I love the possibility to return a response, and still being able to do further operations. e.g. def view(request): do_something() return HttpResponse() do_more_stuff() #not possible!!! Maybe Django already offers a way to perform operations after returning a request, if that is the case that would be great. Help would be very much appreciated! =D

That should be fine but I'm getting this type of error when building: ld: duplicate symbol .objc_class_name_CJSONScanner in /Users/myappOne/TapjoyConnect/Frameworks/libTapjoyConnectSimulatorRewardInstall_Ads_Pinch.a(CJSONScanner.o) and /Developer/Projects/BuildOutput/Debug-iphonesimulator/OtherLibrary_d.a(CJSONScanner.o) How can I handle this issue?

  • best option to create simple website mockup with navigation

I'm a developer so I know how to do this in frameworks like ASP.Net MVC and grails.     Google App Engine provides a image API for storing / retrieving images. We are currently not in a position to deploy our application on top of App Engine because of limitations in the java frameworks (jboss seam 2.2.0) we are using to build our j2ee application. We would eventually want to deploy our production application on top of Google App Engine, but what are the short term options (java based open source products) which provides comparable functionality to Google App Engine's Image API and will have an easier migration path at a later point in time.

  • Low level Android Debugging

    Is there a way to trace through function calls at the lowest levels of the Android system? Right now when I debug in Eclipse, it goes through the source files that are located inside the frameworks folder, but is it possible to go even lower? For example show what functions are being called from the libcore folder. I am also interested to find how it communicates with the linux kernel at the bottom of the layers. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

We chose to use CodeIgniter for the project, and are having some problems getting everything working together. Does anyone have experience setting up such a configuration?     So far I've only build "small" graphical applications, using swing and JComponents as I learned at school. Yet I can't bear ugly JButtons anymore. I've tried to play with the different JButton methods, like changing colors, putting icons etc. but I'm still not satisfied. How do you make a nicer GUI in java ? I know how to do this on the Windows versions, with SendInput calls, but I need to do something similar for Linux ports. It looks complicated, because ideally, I'd like something that would work on multiple Linux distros (SuSe, Red Hat, Ubunutu...) and it looks like there are at least 3 different screen-saver frameworks: xscreensaver, gnome-screensaver, and something else in KDE.

    I know my way around Objective-C and I have experience with garbage collection from .NET, although I never used it in objective-c. I write my code without using it. Now I'm thinkig about using one of the frameworks (Blocks) which is available as GC-only. My question is - can I still use the framework without any changes to my current non-GC code and without using GC myself?
