• Python interview questions

  I am going to interview within two weeks for an internship that would involve Python programming. Can anyone suggest what possible areas should I polish? I am looking for commonly asked stuff in interviews for Python openings. Apart from the fact that I have already been doing the language for over a year now, I fail to perceive what they can ask me. Like for a C or C++ interview, there are lots of questions ranging from reversing of strings to building linked lists, but for a Python interview, I am clueless. Personal experiences and/ or suggestions are welcomed.

• .NET Reflector 7 Released

  This new version fixes a number of bugs and adds support for more high level C# features such as iterator blocks. A new tabbed browsing model was added and Jason Haley's PowerCommands add-in was included as an exploratory step for future versions. To find out more about version 7 just visit http://www.reflector.net/. The release of version 7 also means that the free version of .NET Reflector is no longer available for download. Maybe you can still get one of the give away licenses that Red Gate provided to communities and individuals.

  I applied for a Web developer job in Quebec City and they call me back for a phone interview everything went well it last for over a hours and at the end they ask me to send code simple and a portfolio but in my research about the company and their products I found a PHP error(bug) in their app. Should I tell them or I will look like a total jerk and blew my chance for a interview? I know it might sound stupid, as a Jr developer I did 2 interviews they didn't went so well and I am very interested in this position part of my question is like a big lack of confidence so to make it short should I tell them about where is the error and how to fix it?   I am asked this question many times in the interviews. I get confused about which project to tell them and why some project would look challenging or non-challenging. What are they looking for in the answer? Any software is a challenge before it gets started and it becomes a normal software engineering task after it has finished. The output of two inputs can be used as an input for the next gate For example: A AND B - E C AND D - F E OR F - G Assuming an arbitrary number of gates, we want to check if the circuit ever connects back into itself at an earlier state?   I have been using Java from the last 2yrs (academics). Now, when I am graduating, I received a job offer from a .com. The job is awesome and it's a backend Java work. I wanted to get involved with Ruby on Rails, looked for alot of jobs, gave few interviews, but didn't make it. So, what should I do now? Should I go ahead with Java and learn/do more with Java, a complete 360degree of the java world - Full stack of Java from backend to frontend? OR Java at workplace and try to improve my Ruby on Rails. I understand, this is a very subjective question and depends on the individual, but what would you have done? Have you ever faced a similar problem? I feel I have wasted some time with Rails, where I could not "conquer" Rails, where as I could have used that time to go more into Java.

  I recently went on a couple of interviews and all of them asked a one or two design questions, like how you would design a chess, monopoly, and so on. I didn't do good on those since I am a college student and lack of the experience of implementing big and complex systems. I figure the only way to improve my design capability is to read lots of others' code and try to implement myself. Therefore, for those companies that ask these questions, what are their real goals in this? I figure most of college grads start off working in a team guided by a senior leader in their first jobs. They might not have lots of design experience fresh out of colleges. Anyone could give pointers about how to practice those skills? Thank you very much
