  • Binding a single array cell to a WPF control

    - by yomi
    Hi, I have a bool array of size 4 and I want to bind each cell to a different control. This bool array represents 4 statuses (false = failure, true = success). This bool array is a propery with a class: class foo : INotifyPropertyChanged { ... private bool[] _Statuses; public bool[] Statuses { get {return Statuses;} set { Statuses = value; OnPropertyChanged("Statuses"); } } In XAML there are 4 controls, each one bound to one cell of the array: ... Text="{Binding Path=Statuses[0]}" ... ... Text="{Binding Path=Statuses[1]}" ... ... Text="{Binding Path=Statuses[2]}" ... ... Text="{Binding Path=Statuses[3]}" ... The problem is that the notify event is raised only when I change the array itself and isn't raised when I change one value within the array, i.e, next code line raises the event: Statuses = new bool[4]; but next line does not raises the event: Statuses [0] = true; How can I raise the event each time one cell is changed?

  • Multidimensional Array To Mysql Codeigniter

    - by rochellecanale
    A little help how can I create an input query using this array? Or how can I pass it in the table? my table layout sample is this: sales_table id | product_name | price | qty | subtotal This is derived from the var_dump() function. Here is my code in array //array code from unserialized function $products = unserialize($this->session->userdata('product_list')); //This is the output. Array ( [2] => Array ( [id] => 2 [product_name] => NOKIA 5110 [product_desc] => Cellphone [product_price] => 500.00 [product_qty] => 1 [product_amount] => 500 [product_code] => NOKI2012-84353 ) [3] => Array ( [id] => 3 [product_name] => HP IPAQ RW6828 [product_desc] => Cellphone [product_price] => 1500.00 [product_qty] => 1 [product_amount] => 1500 [product_code] => HP I2012-08386 ) )

  • How to implement callback functions inside classes (PHP)

    - by sombe
    I need to use a class callback method on an array inside another method (the callback function belongs to the class). class Database { public function escape_string_for_db($string){ return mysql_real_escape_string($string); } public function escape_all_array($array){ return array_filter($array,"$this->escape_string_for_db"); } } Is this the right way to go about that? (I mean, in terms of the second parameter passed to array_filter)

  • Array of pointers in C++.

    - by Theorem
    I am not understanding the output of this , #include <iostream> using namespace std; // pointers and arrays char ch1 = 'a' , ch2= 'b'; char ch3[6] = {'c', 'd', 'e', 'f', 'g' , 'h'}; char *ptr[3]; int main () { ptr[0] = &ch1 ; ptr[2] = ch3; cout << &ch1 << endl; } The out put is abcdefgh . isn't &ch1 supposed to give the address of ch1 ? I cannot make sense why the output should be abcdefgh.

  • Is there any way to output the actual array in c++

    - by user2511129
    So, I'm beginning C++, with a semi-adequate background of python. In python, you make a list/array like this: x = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] Then, to print the list, with the square brackets included, all you do is: print x That would display this: [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9] How would I do the exact same thing in c++, print the brackets and the elements, in an elegant/clean fashion? NOTE I don't want just the elements of the array, I want the whole array, like this: {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9} When I use this code to try to print the array, this happens: input: #include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { int anArray[9] = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9}; cout << anArray << endl; } The output is where in memory the array is stored in (I think this is so, correct me if I'm wrong): 0x28fedc As a sidenote, I don't know how to create an array with many different data types, such as integers, strings, and so on, so if someone can enlighten me, that'd be great! Thanks for answering my painstakingly obvious/noobish questions!

  • Duplicate values multi array

    - by BETA911
    As the title states I'm searching for a unique solution in multi arrays. PHP is not my world so I can't make up a good and fast solution. I basically get this from the database: http://pastebin.com/vYhFCuYw . I want to check on the 'id' key, and if the array contains a duplicate 'id', then the 'aantal' should be added to each other. So basically the output has to be this: http://pastebin.com/0TXRrwLs . Thanks in advance! EDIT As asked, attempt 1 out of many: function checkDuplicates($array) { $temp = array(); foreach($array as $k) { foreach ($array as $v) { $t_id = $k['id']; $t_naam = $k['naam']; $t_percentage = $k['percentage']; $t_aantal = $k['aantal']; if ($k['id'] == $v['id']) { $t_aantal += $k['aantal']; array_push($temp, array( 'id' => $t_id, 'naam' => $t_naam, 'percentage' => $t_percentage, 'aantal' => $t_aantal, ) ); } } } return $temp; }

  • Reflection - SetValue of array within class?

    - by Jaymz87
    OK, I've been working on something for a while now, using reflection to accomplish a lot of what I need to do, but I've hit a bit of a stumbling block... I'm trying to use reflection to populate the properties of an array of a child property... not sure that's clear, so it's probably best explained in code: Parent Class: Public Class parent Private _child As childObject() Public Property child As childObject() Get Return _child End Get Set(ByVal value As child()) _child = value End Set End Property End Class Child Class: Public Class childObject Private _name As String Public Property name As String Get Return _name End Get Set(ByVal value As String) _name = value End Set End Property Private _descr As String Public Property descr As String Get Return _descr End Get Set(ByVal value As String) _descr = value End Set End Property End Class So, using reflection, I'm trying to set the values of the array of child objects through the parent object... I've tried several methods... the following is pretty much what I've got at the moment (I've added sample data just to keep things simple): Dim Results(1) As String Results(0) = "1,2" Results(1) = "2,3" Dim parent As New parent Dim child As childObject() = New childObject() {} Dim PropInfo As PropertyInfo() = child.GetType().GetProperties() Dim i As Integer = 0 For Each res As String In Results Dim ResultSet As String() = res.Split(",") ReDim child(i) Dim j As Integer = 0 For Each PropItem As PropertyInfo In PropInfo PropItem.SetValue(child, ResultSet(j), Nothing) j += 1 Next i += 1 Next parent.child = child This fails miserably on PropItem.SetValue with ArgumentException: Property set method not found. Anyone have any ideas? @Jon :- Thanks, I think I've gotten a little further, by creating individual child objects, and then assigning them to an array... The issue is now trying to get that array assigned to the parent object (using reflection). It shouldn't be difficult, but I think the problem comes because I don't necessarily know the parent/child types. I'm using reflection to determine which parent/child is being passed in. The parent always has only one property, which is an array of the child object. When I try assigning the child array to the parent object, I get a invalid cast exception saying it can't convert Object[] to . EDIT: Basically, what I have now is: Dim PropChildInfo As PropertyInfo() = ResponseObject.GetType().GetProperties() For Each PropItem As PropertyInfo In PropChildInfo PropItem.SetValue(ResponseObject, ResponseChildren, Nothing) Next ResponseObject is an instance of the parent Class, and ResponseChildren is an array of the childObject Class. This fails with: Object of type 'System.Object[]' cannot be converted to type 'childObject[]'.

  • Integers not properly returned from a property list (plist) array in Objective-C

    - by Gaurav
    In summary, I am having a problem where I read what I expect to be an NSNumber from an NSArray contained in a property list and instead of getting a number such as '1', I get what looks to be a memory address (i.e. '61879840'). The numbers are clearly correct in the property list. Below is my process for creating the property list and reading it back. Creating the property list I have created a simple Objective-C property list with arrays of integers within one root array: <array> <array> <integer>1</integer> <integer>2</integer> </array> <array> <integer>1</integer> <integer>2</integer> <integer>5</integer> </array> ... more arrays with integers ... </array> The arrays are NSArray objects and the integers are NSNumber objects. The property list has been created and serialized using the following code: // factorArray is an NSArray that contains NSArrays of NSNumbers as described above // serialize and compress factorArray as a property list, Factors-bin.plist NSString *error; NSString *rootPath = [NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *plistPath = [rootPath stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"Factors-bin.plist"]; NSData *plistData = [NSPropertyListSerialization dataFromPropertyList:factorArray format:NSPropertyListBinaryFormat_v1_0 errorDescription:&error]; Inspecting the created plist, all values and types are correct. Reading the property list The property list is read in as Data and then converted to an NSArray: NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Factors" ofType:@"plist"]; NSData *plistData = [[NSData alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:path]; NSPropertyListFormat format; NSString *error = nil; NSArray *factorData = (NSArray *)[NSPropertyListSerialization propertyListFromData:plistData mutabilityOption:NSPropertyListImmutable format:&format errorDescription:&error]; Cycling through factorData to see what it contains is where I see the erroneous integers: for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { NSArray *factorList = (NSArray *)[factorData objectAtIndex:i]; NSLog(@"Factors of %d\n", i + 1); for (int j = 0; j < [factorList count]; j++) { NSLog(@" %d\n", (NSNumber *)[factorList objectAtIndex:j]); } } I see all the correct number of values, but the values themselves are incorrect, i.e.: Factors of 3 61879840 (should be 1) 61961200 (should be 3) Factors of 4 61879840 (should be 1) 61943472 (should be 2) 61943632 (should be 4) Factors of 5 61879840 (should be 1) 61943616 (should be 5)

  • stored as array understanding mongoid

    - by Gagan
    Hello frens, This is not a problem, but I just want to know stored as array of Mongoid better. I have following code in my model. class Company include Mongoid::Document include Mongoid::Timestamps references_many :people, :stored_as => :array, :inverse_of => :companies end class Person include Mongoid::Document include Sunspot::Mongoid references_many :companies, :stored_as => :array, :inverse_of => :people end Now in Company object we get person_ids as a result of stored_as array and company_ids in Person object. Now initially I inserted lots of person in company and the ids in person_ids fields is huge. Now I deleted most of person from company down to 8 people. Now I don't get why person_ids fields of Company object storing all the deleted ids of person. My console snapshot is follwing ruby-1.9.2-head Company.first.person_ids = [BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000025'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf35069500002c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000035'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf35069500003f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000048'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000052'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d2907adf350695000062'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf35069500008d'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf350695000094'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf35069500009d'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000a7'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000b0'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000ba'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000c1'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d4017adf3506950000ca'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48a7adf3506950000f5'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48a7adf3506950000fc'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48a7adf350695000108'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000115'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000121'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf35069500012e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000135'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d48b7adf350695000141'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf35069500016f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf350695000176'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf350695000182'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf35069500018f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53e7adf35069500019b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53f7adf3506950001a8'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53f7adf3506950001af'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d53f7adf3506950001bb'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8587adf3506950001e9'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8587adf3506950001f0'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8587adf3506950001ff'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf35069500020f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf35069500021e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf35069500022e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d8597adf350695000235'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d85a7adf350695000244'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12d9587adf35069500025b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12db8b7adf35069500026a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de6f7adf3509c9000024'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de6f7adf3509c900002b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de6f7adf3509c900003a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c900004a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c9000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c9000069'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de707adf3509c9000070'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12de717adf3509c900007f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e7f27adf350bd2000009'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e81f7adf350bd2000015'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e87f7adf350bd2000024'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b87adf350bd200004c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd2000053'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd200005c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd2000066'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd200006f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8b97adf350bd2000079'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8ba7adf350bd2000080'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12e8ba7adf350bd2000089'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6b7adf350bd2000198'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6b7adf350bd200019f'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001a5'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001ac'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001b2'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001b9'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001c0'), BSON::ObjectId('4d12ee6c7adf350bd20001c6'), BSON::ObjectId('4d141ca57adf35033e00006e'), BSON::ObjectId('4d141ca57adf35033e000075'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420aa7adf350705000003'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420aa7adf35070500000a'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f47adf350705000011'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000015'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000018'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf35070500001c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000023'), BSON::ObjectId('4d1420f57adf350705000026'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500004b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000052'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000055'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500005c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000060'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000067'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500006a')] Company.first.people.collect(&:id) = [BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500004b'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000052'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000055'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000059'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500005c'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000060'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf350705000067'), BSON::ObjectId('4d14215f7adf35070500006a')] Isn't the Company.first.person_ids array be only storing the ids shown by Company.first.people.collect(&:id) It would be helpful if some one tell me when to best use stored_as = :array method. Do stored_as = :array increase querying performance? Thanks

  • PHP Session Class and $_SESSION Array

    - by Gianluca Bargelli
    Hello, i've implemented this custom PHP Session Class for storing sessions into a MySQL database: class Session { private $_session; public $maxTime; private $database; public function __construct(mysqli $database) { $this->database=$database; $this->maxTime['access'] = time(); $this->maxTime['gc'] = get_cfg_var('session.gc_maxlifetime'); session_set_save_handler(array($this,'_open'), array($this,'_close'), array($this,'_read'), array($this,'_write'), array($this,'_destroy'), array($this,'_clean') ); register_shutdown_function('session_write_close'); session_start();//SESSION START } public function _open() { return true; } public function _close() { $this->_clean($this->maxTime['gc']); } public function _read($id) { $getData= $this->database->prepare("SELECT data FROM Sessions AS Session WHERE Session.id = ?"); $getData->bind_param('s',$id); $getData->execute(); $allData= $getData->fetch(); $totalData = count($allData); $hasData=(bool) $totalData >=1; return $hasData ? $allData['data'] : ''; } public function _write($id, $data) { $getData = $this->database->prepare("REPLACE INTO Sessions VALUES (?, ?, ?)"); $getData->bind_param('sss', $id, $this->maxTime['access'], $data); return $getData->execute(); } public function _destroy($id) { $getData=$this->database->prepare("DELETE FROM Sessions WHERE id = ?"); $getData->bind_param('S', $id); return $getData->execute(); } public function _clean($max) { $old=($this->maxTime['access'] - $max); $getData = $this->database->prepare("DELETE FROM Sessions WHERE access < ?"); $getData->bind_param('s', $old); return $getData->execute(); } } It works well but i don't really know how to properly access the $_SESSION array: For example: $db=new DBClass();//This is a custom database class $session=new Session($db->getConnection()); if (isset($_SESSION['user'])) { echo($_SESSION['user']);//THIS IS NEVER EXECUTED! } else { $_SESSION['user']="test"; Echo("Session created!"); } At every page refresh it seems that $_SESSION['user'] is somehow "resetted", what methods can i apply to prevent such behaviour?

  • How to loop an array with strings as indexes in PHP

    - by Axel Lambregts
    I had to make an array with as indexes A-Z (the alphabet). Each index had to have a value 0. So i made this array: $alfabet = array( 'A' => 0, 'B' => 0, 'C' => 0, 'D' => 0, 'E' => 0, 'F' => 0, 'G' => 0, 'H' => 0, 'I' => 0, 'J' => 0, 'K' => 0, 'L' => 0, 'M' => 0, 'N' => 0, 'O' => 0, 'P' => 0, 'Q' => 0, 'R' => 0, 'S' => 0, 'T' => 0, 'U' => 0, 'V' => 0, 'W' => 0, 'X' => 0, 'Y' => 0, 'Z' => 0 ); I also have got text from a file ($text = file_get_contents('tekst15.txt');) I have putted the chars in that file to an array: $textChars = str_split ($text); and sorted it from A-Z: sort($textChars); What i want is that (with a for loop) when he finds an A in the textChars array, the value of the other array with index A, goes up by one (so like: $alfabet[A]++; Can anyone help me with this loop? I have this atm: for($i = 0; $i <= count($textChars); $i++){ while($textChars[$i] == $alfabet[A]){ $alfabet[A]++; } } echo $alfabet[A]; Problem 1: i want to loop the alfabet array to, so now i only check for A but i want to check all indexes. Problem2: this now returns 7 for each alphabet index i try so its totally wrong :) I'm sorry about my english but thanks for your time.

  • Sort array by two specifics values in PHP

    - by Roger
    The folks have already showed me how to sort an array by a specific value using usort and a fallback function in PHP. What if this specifc value doesn't exist and we have to use two values? in the example bellow the values [4] and [5]... In other words, I want to do this: order all objects numericaly by the fith value of each object from the highest to the lowest, and addicionally, for those objects that have the fifht value is empty (in the examplem '-'), order them by the fourth value. Array( [0] => Array( [0] => links-patrocinados [1] => adwords [2] => 0,5 [3] => R$92,34 [4] => 823000 [5] => 49500 ) [1] => Array( [0] => adwords [1] => google adwords como funciona [2] => 0,38 [3] => R$0,20 [4] => 480 [5] => 480 ) [2] => Array( [0] => links-patrocinados [1] => adword [2] => 0,39 [3] => R$58,77 [4] => 49500 [5] => 2900 ) [3] => Array( [0] => agencia [1] => agencias viagens espanholas [2] => - [3] => R$0,20 [4] => 58 [5] => - ) [4] => Array( [0] => agencia [1] => era agencia imobiliaria [2] => - [3] => R$0,20 [4] => 73 [5] => - ) )

  • C# Type Casting at Runtimefor Array.SetValue

    - by sprocketonline
    I'm trying to create an array using reflection, and insert values into it. I'm trying to do this for many different types so would like a createAndFillArray function capable of this : Type t1 = typeof(A); Type t2 = typeof(B); double exampleA = 22.5; int exampleB = 43; Array arrA = createAndFillArray(t1, exampleA); Array arrB = createAndFillArray(t2, exampleB); private Array createAndFillArray(Type t, object val){ Array arr = Array.CreateInstance( t, 1); //length 1 in this example only, real-world is of variable length. arr.SetValue( val, 0 ); //this causes the following error: "System.InvalidCastException : Object cannot be stored in an array of this type." return arr; } with the class A being as follows: public class A{ public A(){} private double val; public double Value{ get{ return val; } set{ this.val = value; } } public static implicit operator A(double d){ A a = new A(); a.Value = d; return a; } } and class B being very similar, but with int: public class B{ public B(){} private double val; public double Value{ get{ return val; } set{ this.val = value; } } public static implicit operator B(double d){ B b = new B(); b.Value = d; return b; } } I hoped that the implicit operator would have ensured that the double be converted to class A, or the int to class B, and the error avoided; but this is obviously not so. The above is used in a custom deserialization class, which takes data from a custom data format and fills in the corresponding .Net object properties. I'm doing this via reflection and at runtime, so I think both are unavoidable. I'm targeting the C# 2.0 framework. I've dozens, if not hundreds, of classes similar to A and B, so would prefer to find a solution which improved on the createAndFillArray method rather than a solution which altered these classes.

    has anyone ever run into a dirty cache issue with a Equallogic SAN. Even after replacement of the controller cards in the Equallogic Storage Array fails offline with a dirty cache. I have listed steps here on my blog to bring the SAN online again, however this is not the best solution as it continues to fail. http://jermsmit.com/dirty-cache-dell-equallogic-storage-array/ If you have any info on this please share. • Mysteriously empty $_POST array

    - by Lex
    Hi all! I have the following HTML/PHP page: <?php if(empty($_SERVER['CONTENT_TYPE'])) { $type = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; $_SERVER['CONTENT_TYPE'] = $type; } echo "<pre>"; var_dump($_POST); var_dump(file_get_contents("php://input")); echo "</pre>"; ?> <form method="post" action="test.php"> <input type="text" name="test[1]" /> <input type="text" name="test[2]" /> <input type="text" name="test[3]" /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Go" /> </form> As you can see, the form will submit and the expected output is a POST array with one array in it containing the filled in values and one entry "action" with the value "Go" (the button). However, no matter what values I enter in the fields; the result is always: array(2) { ["test"]=> string(0) "" ["action"]=> string(2) "Go" } string(16) "test=&action=Go&" Somehow, the array named test is emptied, the "action" variable does make it through. I've used the Live HTTP Headers extension for Firefox to check whether the POST fields get submitted, and they do. The relevant information from Live HTTP Headers (with a, b and c filled in as values in the textboxes): Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 51 test%5B1%5D=a&test%5B2%5D=b&test%5B3%5D=c&action=Go Does anybody have any idea as to why this is happening? I'm freaking out on this one, it has cost me so much time already... EDIT: We've tried this on different servers, on Windows boxes it does work, on the Ubuntu server with PHP version 5.2.4 (with Suhosin), it doesn't. It even works on a different server, also with Ubuntu and the same PHP version, also with Suhosin installed.

  • Server restarted while rebuilding array, what to do?

    - by user239054
    It's a HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 7, that has four hard drives, one is dead, I suppose that another one is dead too, but is there any way to force the array to rebuild again? The server has restarted while it was rebuilding an array. My windows server(2008) that is on it won't boot, it goes directly to system recovery screen. I have an image backup, would restoring it be my only option?If I restore, it will get back to regular automatically or will I have to configure something?

  • HP Smart Array p400i with Intel X25-M 160 SSD

    - by user67304
    I have a pair of x25-M 160 Intel SSD's in an HP DL360 G5 with a p400i Smart Array running 512 BBWC. The disk performance I am getting on this box and another identical one does not come close to matching the same two drives running through a cheap 3ware RAID card. Any idea? I have played with the cache settings, but nothing allows me to get the same results. It seems like the Smart Array controller is the bottleneck.

  • convert full-disk RAID5 array to partition-based array?

    - by Delan Azabani
    I have a RAID 5 array, md0, with three full-disk (non-partitioned) members, sdb, sdc, and sdd. My computer will hang during the AHCI BIOS if AHCI is enabled instead of IDE, if these drives are plugged in. I believe it may be because I'm using the whole disk, and the AHCI BIOS expects an MBR to be on the drive (I don't know why it would care). Is there a way to convert the array to use members sdb1, sdc1 and sdd1, partitioned MBR with 0xFD RAID partitions?

  • How do I Change a damaged Disk in a Raid 5 array

    - by Egakagoc2xI
    Hi, I have a server with a 4-drives Raid 5 array; one of the disks is damaged. All the disks are hot pluggable. My Question is, I want to replace the damaged disk with a new one, do I have to shutdown the server or should I just change the hard disk with the server on and it will rebuild the array? There is a procedure to follow? My Server is a HP. Regards.

  • Need help with testdisk output

    - by dan
    I had (note the past tense) an ubuntu 12.04 system with separate partitions for the base and /home directories. It started acting wonky, so I decided to do a reinstall with 12.10, intending just to do a reinstall to the base partition. After several seconds, I realize that the installer was repartitioning the drive and reinstalling, so I pulled the power cord. I'm now trying to recover as much as I can with testdisk, but it seems that testdisk is finding 100 unique partitions when I run it - they mostly tend to be HFS+ or solaris /home (which I think is just an ext4; I've never had solaris on the machine). I've pasted an abbreviated version of the testdisk output below (first ~100 lines, and then ~100 lines from the middle of the output). Is there a way to combine or recreate the partitions and then data recovery, or some other way maximize what I can recover (ideally as much of the file system as possible)? I really only care about what was in the /home directory - I'd rather not use photorec since I don't have another 2 TB HD lying around to recover to. • Recover RAID 5 data after created new array instead of re-using

    - by Brigadieren
    Folks please help - I am a newb with a major headache at hand (perfect storm situation). I have a 3 1tb hdd on my ubuntu 11.04 configured as software raid 5. The data had been copied weekly onto another separate off the computer hard drive until that completely failed and was thrown away. A few days back we had a power outage and after rebooting my box wouldn't mount the raid. In my infinite wisdom I entered mdadm --create -f... command instead of mdadm --assemble and didn't notice the travesty that I had done until after. It started the array degraded and proceeded with building and syncing it which took ~10 hours. After I was back I saw that that the array is successfully up and running but the raid is not I mean the individual drives are partitioned (partition type f8 ) but the md0 device is not. Realizing in horror what I have done I am trying to find some solutions. I just pray that --create didn't overwrite entire content of the hard driver. Could someone PLEASE help me out with this - the data that's on the drive is very important and unique ~10 years of photos, docs, etc. Is it possible that by specifying the participating hard drives in wrong order can make mdadm overwrite them? when I do mdadm --examine --scan I get something like ARRAY /dev/md/0 metadata=1.2 UUID=f1b4084a:720b5712:6d03b9e9:43afe51b name=<hostname>:0 Interestingly enough name used to be 'raid' and not the host hame with :0 appended. Here is the 'sanitized' config entries: DEVICE /dev/sdf1 /dev/sde1 /dev/sdd1 CREATE owner=root group=disk mode=0660 auto=yes HOMEHOST <system> MAILADDR root ARRAY /dev/md0 metadata=1.2 name=tanserv:0 UUID=f1b4084a:720b5712:6d03b9e9:43afe51b Here is the output from mdstat cat /proc/mdstat Personalities : [linear] [multipath] [raid0] [raid1] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4] [raid10] md0 : active raid5 sdd1[0] sdf1[3] sde1[1] 1953517568 blocks super 1.2 level 5, 512k chunk, algorithm 2 [3/3] [UUU] unused devices: <none> fdisk shows the following: fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000bf62e Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 * 1 9443 75846656 83 Linux /dev/sda2 9443 9730 2301953 5 Extended /dev/sda5 9443 9730 2301952 82 Linux swap / Solaris Disk /dev/sdb: 750.2 GB, 750156374016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 91201 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000de8dd Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdb1 1 91201 732572001 8e Linux LVM Disk /dev/sdc: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00056a17 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdc1 1 60801 488384001 8e Linux LVM Disk /dev/sdd: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000ca948 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdd1 1 121601 976760001 fd Linux raid autodetect Disk /dev/dm-0: 1250.3 GB, 1250254913536 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 152001 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Disk /dev/dm-0 doesn't contain a valid partition table Disk /dev/sde: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x93a66687 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sde1 1 121601 976760001 fd Linux raid autodetect Disk /dev/sdf: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0xe6edc059 Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdf1 1 121601 976760001 fd Linux raid autodetect Disk /dev/md0: 2000.4 GB, 2000401989632 bytes 2 heads, 4 sectors/track, 488379392 cylinders Units = cylinders of 8 * 512 = 4096 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 524288 bytes / 1048576 bytes Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Disk /dev/md0 doesn't contain a valid partition table Per suggestions I did clean up the superblocks and re-created the array with --assume-clean option but with no luck at all. Is there any tool that will help me to revive at least some of the data? Can someone tell me what and how the mdadm --create does when syncs to destroy the data so I can write a tool to un-do whatever was done? After the re-creating of the raid I run fsck.ext4 /dev/md0 and here is the output root@tanserv:/etc/mdadm# fsck.ext4 /dev/md0 e2fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010) fsck.ext4: Superblock invalid, trying backup blocks... fsck.ext4: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open /dev/md0 The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2 filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else), then the superblock is corrupt, and you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock: e2fsck -b 8193 Per Shanes' suggestion I tried root@tanserv:/home/mushegh# mkfs.ext4 -n /dev/md0 mke2fs 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010) Filesystem label= OS type: Linux Block size=4096 (log=2) Fragment size=4096 (log=2) Stride=128 blocks, Stripe width=256 blocks 122101760 inodes, 488379392 blocks 24418969 blocks (5.00%) reserved for the super user First data block=0 Maximum filesystem blocks=0 14905 block groups 32768 blocks per group, 32768 fragments per group 8192 inodes per group Superblock backups stored on blocks: 32768, 98304, 163840, 229376, 294912, 819200, 884736, 1605632, 2654208, 4096000, 7962624, 11239424, 20480000, 23887872, 71663616, 78675968, 102400000, 214990848 and run fsck.ext4 with every backup block but all returned the following: root@tanserv:/home/mushegh# fsck.ext4 -b 214990848 /dev/md0 e2fsck 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010) fsck.ext4: Invalid argument while trying to open /dev/md0 The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem.
