  • NHibernate Query

    Is it possible to get NHibernate to generate a query similar to the following with HQL or Criteria API? select * from ( select row_number() over ( partition by Column1 order by Column2 ) as RowNumber, T.* from MyTable T ) where RowNumber = 1 I can get it to execute the inner select using the formula attribute, but I can't figure out a way to write a HQL or Criteria query that lets me wrap the inner select in the outer one.

  • Type derivation in python?

    In Perl, I can do this: push(@{$h->[x]}, y); Can I simplify the following python codes according to above Perl example? if x not in h: h[x] = [] h[x].append(y) I want to simplify this, because it goes many places in my code, (and I cannot initialize all possible x with []). I do not want to make it a function, because there is no 'inline' keyword. Any ideas?

It helps us to measure how (in)efficient an algorithm really is and if you know in what category the problem you are trying to solve lays in you can figure out if it is still possible to squeeze out that little extra performance.* But I'm curious, how do you calculate or approximate the complexity of your algorithms? *: but as they say, don't overdo it, premature optimization is the root of all evil, and optimization without a justified cause should deserve that name as well.

    Hi all, I followed this tutorial to make my first app: http://icodeblog.com/2009/12/21/introduction-to-mapkit-in-iphone-os-3-0/ I would really like to know how to sort the annotations in the Table in order of distance to the user (the nearest annotation is the first one on the table) How is it possible to do that?     I don't like debugging in a debugger, because I think it is often below the abstraction layer of the programming language and it is often not reproducible. I favor usign unit tests when possible and I think they are a good way, but it is not always that easy to implement them. Do you know about any other alternative approaches to avoid the use of debugger?

    Hello, I'm trying to use the Gamma distribution from boost::math but it looks like it isn't possible to use it with boost::variate_generator. Could someone confirm that? Or is there a way to use it. I discovered that there is a boost::gamma_distribution undocumented that could probably be used too but it only allows to choose the alpha parameter from the distribution and not the beta. Thanks!

    I have a JSF page that displays a RichFaces Treeview, from a TreeNodeImpl model generated in the backing bean. Now I want the page to display initially with a specific node expanded / selected. Preferrably this expansion should be controlled from the backing bean (no javascript wizardry) The whole tree has been generated at the time of initialization of the backing bean Is this possible? I have seen mentioning of TreeState, is that the way to go?
