• study materials for Mysql certification?

  I'm preparing for Mysql certification, nowadays officially titled: Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 5.0 Developer certification After looking through Mysql forum it looks like most people recommended this book: http://www.amazon.com/MySQL-5-0-Certification-Study-Guide/dp/0672328127/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1299972594&sr=8-1 Which as far as I learned - was the official preparation source at the time when Mysql was controlled by Mysql AB and Sun. Now, however - Oracle officially doesn't recommend this book. to be precise - I don't now what they recommend. I could only find this "value package":( http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=532 Can someone who got mysql certification confirm that this book is what they have used? Also -If there is any other moderately priced study materials out there - plz let me know. Thanks P.s. mods - feel free to kick this question into more suitable site.:)

  I am developing a website for my partner who is currently a sole trader, presently selling on ebay but we have opted to create our own site. I've noticed that there are many sites allowing you to purchase base-line T&Cs to be used on websites, I'm tempted to give these a go but I've heard nothing on whether they are any good or not, I know in this position it's best to seek legal advice, but the budget is tight so we really can't afford that.   for work I need to get a a new and cheap graphics card for a dual boot machine: windows xp/ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The only requirements I have are: it should work 'flawlessly' in ubuntu (proprietary drivers are ok) it should handle Guild Wars 2 & League of Legends in windows xp (this is really the top priority as we need to be able to play at work :) - yes I have a cool job) I know nothing about graphics cards (and it seems to be a jungle out there).   Interesting stuff, particularly if you're doing BI. BISM tabular and Power View will not be in Standard Edition, only in the new - presumably more expensive - Business Intelligence Edition. That kind of makes sense as you need a fairly pricey edition of SharePoint to really get all the benefits, but it's a shame there won't be some kind of limited version in Standard Edition. And Always On will be in Standard Edition but limited to 2 nodes. I really expected Always On to be Enterprise-only so this is a great decision.   I try to boot Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit on my Compaq CQ58 laptop from a USB but it is not working. I've correctly installed the Ubuntu on my pen drive following the instructions on Ubuntu website. • Can find any /.ecryptfs dir to retrieve my encrypted home dir

  At firs sorry for my english, it isn't my native languaje. I've readed some questions similar but no the exactly whith the same problem. I've moved my home directory to a separated partitión (Ubuntu 11.10) following this tutorial http://www.ubuntu-es.org/node/58233 After checking that they were all my files and folders (forgetting that one of dirs was encrypted by ecryptfs) i've installed fedora 16. Well, suprised when in my home folder was an Readme.txt advising me that my folder was unmounted for security reasons and proposing to type in comand line "ecryptfs-mount-Private" (din't work) or make click on labeled icon "acces your private data desktop" (neither din't work). After three days reading all i could find on the internet, i follow The Dustin Kirkland tutorial in http://blog.dustinkirkland.com/2011/04/introducing-ecryptfs-recover-private.html, but any /.ecryptfs was found. I'm sure that the data are somewere (the size of the moved dir is identical to the original one). Any help would by greatly appreciated. Thaks a lot.

  I was wanting to play around with something in a VM the other day.  I was curious what was available for free, if anything, for windows.   I quickly came across Virtual Box  ( http://www.virtualbox.org/ ).   Downloaded, Installed. No Problem!  Works really nicely.   It was commercial software (by sun (now oracle)) that turned open source.   In terms of a license it says :- In summary, the VirtualBox PUEL allows you to use VirtualBox free of charge for personal use or, alternatively, for product evaluation. An interesting feature it has is built in RDP.   Which is useful if you have a guest OS that doesn’t support RDP.   Speaking of RDP…..  which I will in my next blog post… I learnt something REALLY useful the other day.

My url is: http://www.seek-team.com/en/ for english and juste replace /en/ by /fr/ to access it in french. What's causing this ? Is there an explanation ? • Corrupt plymouth boot screen when using properietary Nvidia drivers

  I recently got the final version of Ubuntu Natty Narwhal x64 and everything is working just fine. The only thing I am having trouble with is the boot screen. After I installed the proprietary nVidia drivers, the boot screen becomes corrupt and only shows text (as it has been doing since Ubuntu 10.04). When I followed the instructions to fix the boot screen in 10.04 and 10.10, the boot screen still remains the same and the problem isn't resolved. Please give a full guide on how to fix this problem. • Windows Azure: Caching

  I was poking around today and found this great article on caching: http://www.cloudcomputingdevelopment.net/cache-management-with-windows-azure/ Caching is a great way to boost application performance and keep down overhead on a database or file system. Its also great when you have say 3 web roles as shown in this articles Figure 2 that can share the same cache. If one of the roles goes offline then the cache is still there and can be used. You can change out your asp.net caching to use this pretty easy. Its pretty cool. There’s a sample that’s mentioned in the article that shows how to use this. You can download the cache here.

  Is it possible to write an open source project that uses generated code from CodeSynthesis XSD (C++/Tree) and then link it to a third-party library that is licensed under the GPL version 3? Some background information: CodeSynthesis XSD is licensed under the GPL version 2 but with an extra FLOSS exception (http://www.codesynthesis.com/projects/xsd/FLOSSE). C++ source code generated from CodeSynthesis XSD (C++/Tree) needs to be linked against Xerces (http://xerces.apache.org/xerces-c/) that is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. Update I posted a similar question on the xsd-users mailing list two years ago but I didn't fully understand the answers. In that email thread, I wrote: I think it is the GPL version 3 software that doesn't allow itself be linked to software that can't be "relicensed" to GPL version 3 ( for instance GPL version 2 software ). That would also include XSD as the FLOSS exception doesn't give permission to "relicense" XSD to GPL version 3.

  I've just installed the newest java, because firefox blocks the old version. I used the tutorial from http://www.backtrack-linux.org/wiki/index.php/Java_Install Because I had some trouble once, I knew that there are multiple library folders, so I linked into all mozilla plugin folders that there are. /root/.mozilla/plugins /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/ /usr/lib/firefox-addons /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins java -version returns java version "1.7.0_07" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_07-b10) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.3-b01, mixed mode) But when I go to firefox plugins, it's not listed. What do I need to do, so that firefox recognizes java?
