  • Ant trouble with environment variables on Ubuntu

    Having some trouble with with ant reading environment variables in Ubuntu 9.10. Specifically, the build tasks my company uses has a token like ${env.CATALINA_HOME] in the main build.xml. I set CATALINA_HOME to the correct value in /etc/environment, ~/.pam_environment and (just to be safe) my .bashrc. I can see the correct value when I run printenv from bash, or when I eval (getenv "CATALINA_HOME") in emacs. Ant refuses to build to the correct directory though; instead I get a folder named ${env.CATALINA_HOME} in the same directory as my build.xml. Any idea what's happening there, and/or how to fix it?

    Windows Mobile 6.5.3 has a "touch friendlier" pivot at the top of the screen instead of tabs at the bottom. In the docs for PROPSHEETHEADER, the dwFlag value PSH_PIVOT is documented: PSH_PIVOT Applies to Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Replaces dialog box tabs with a simple pivot (horizontal spinner). It's supposed to bed defined in prsht.h, but it's not. My 6.5.3 and 6 headers differ only in this: #define PSM_GETPIVOTCONTROL (WM_USER + 119) #define PropSheet_GetPivotControl(hDlg) \ (HWND)SNDMSG(hDlg, PSM_GETPIVOTCONTROL, 0, 0) which is in the 6.5.3 prsht.h, but not in the 6 one. What's the value of PSH_PIVOT? Did they forget to include it?

  • 100% width table cell

    Hello! I have this table layout. I want to align the whole content to the right. So i'm using one cell with width: 100%;. Usually everything looks good and nice. But there is something, which i don't understand. If the content in cell, which has colspan, becomes bigger than normal cell in this column (you can test this by clicking Click to test button), it brakes whole layout. This happens on Chrome, Safari 4 and 5, IE8, but on Opera, FF and IE7 is OK.   • Starfield Wildcard SSL Certificate Not Trusted in All Browsers

    I am at a loss as to what else I might try in order to debug this issue with a Starfield Wildcard SSL Certificate. The problem is that in certain browsers (Safari or the most-updated chrome you can get for OS X 10.5.8 for example) the certificate comes up as untrusted, even on the root domain. My server setup / background info: General LAMP setup - CentOS 6.3 - on a Godaddy VPS Starfield Technologies Wildcard SSL certificate Installed using the instructions from godaddy's support pages ssl.conf lines are basically as follows: SSLCertificateFile /path/to/cert/mysite.com.cert SSLCertificateKeyFile /path/to/cert/mysite.key SSLCertificateChainFile /path/to/cert/sf_bundle.crt Everything seemingly worked fine until the other night when I noticed the problem in OS X, I assume it's more browser version related, but have only been able to replicate it on that particular machine. What I have tried: Updating sf_bundle.crt from godaddy's cert repository and Starfield's repository versions Following This ServerFault answer from Jim Phares - changing the ChainFile line to sf_intermediate.crt from Starfield's repository Using http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html on my url It says the domain is correctly listed on the certificate but comes up with an error that reads The certificate is not trusted in all web browsers. You may need to install an Intermediate/chain certificate to link it to a trusted root certificate. What might I try next to remedy the untrusted certificate issue? Let me know if there is any other information needed that might help debugging this issue. Thanks in advance!

    I am new to SSRS (2005) and am creating my first report. I need to create a group-based running value but is sorted or some other field. For example, from the data below |Employee| Day |Hours|Salary| |E1 | 1.1 | 5 | 5 | |E2 | 1.2 | 6 | 6 | |E3 | 1.3 | 7 | 7 | |E2 | 2.1 | 6 | 12 | |E1 | 2.2 | 5 | 10 | |E3 | 2.3 | 7 | 14 | |E3 | 3.1 | 7 | 21 | |E2 | 3.2 | 6 | 18 | I am calculating the salary to be a running value on hours grouped by employee, which works fine. The problem is I want the report to be sorted on the Day column. If I use the Day as a sorting criteria in the employee group, the report is grouped on the employee, but within the group, the data is sorted on the Day column. Is there a way to build the report and then finally sort the report on the day column ? Please let me know in case I am unclear. Thanks a lot! Siva.

  • DataTable identity column not set after DataAdapter.Update/Refresh on table with "instead of"-trigge

    Within our unit tests we use plain ADO.NET (DataTable, DataAdapter) for preparing the database resp. checking the results, while the tested components themselves run under NHibernate 2.1. .NET version is 3.5, SqlServer version is 2005. The database tables have identity columns as primary keys. Some tables apply instead-of-insert/update triggers (this is due to backward compatibility, nothing I can change). The triggers generally work like this: create trigger dbo.emp_insert on dbo.emp instead of insert as begin set nocount on insert into emp ... select @@identity end The insert statement issued by the ADO.NET DataAdapter (generated on-the-fly by a thin ADO.NET wrapper) tries to retrieve the identity value back into the DataRow: exec sp_executesql N' insert into emp (...) values (...); select id, ... from emp where id = @@identity ' But the DataRow's id-Column is still 0. When I remove the trigger temporarily, it works fine - the id-Column then holds the identity value set by the database. NHibernate on the other hand uses this kind of insert statement: exec sp_executesql N' insert into emp (...) values (...); select scope_identity() ' This works, the NHibernate POCO has its id property correctly set right after flushing. Which seems a little bit counter-intuitive to me, as I expected the trigger to run in a different scope, hence @@identity should be a better fit than scope_identity(). So I thought no problem, I will apply scope_identity() instead of @@identity under ADO.NET as well. But this has no effect, the DataRow value is still not updated accordingly. And now for the best part: When I copy and paste those two statements from SqlServer profiler into a Management Studio query (that is including "exec sp_executesql"), and run them there, the results seem to be inverse! There the ADO.NET version works, and the NHibernate version doesn't (select scope_identity() returns null). I tried several times to verify, but to no avail. Of course this just shows the resultset coming from the database, whatever happens inside NHibernate and ADO.NET is another topic. Also, several session properties defined by T-SQL SET are different in the two scenarios (Management Studio query vs. application at runtime) This is a real puzzle to me. I would be happy about any insights on that. Thank you!

We are in the process of migrating to sql 2008. We are planning on consolidating multiple sql 2005 into single SQL 2008 Server.If anyone can suggest hardware I would appreciate.   • How do I iterate over the properties of an anonymous object in C#?

    I want to take an anonymous object as argument to a method, and then iterate over its properties to add each property/value to a a dynamic ExpandoObject. So what I need is to go from new { Prop1 = "first value", Prop2 = SomeObjectInstance, Prop3 = 1234 } to knowing names and values of each property, and being able to add them to the ExpandoObject. How do I accomplish this? Side note: This will be done in many of my unit tests (I'm using it to refactor away a lot of junk in the setup), so performance is to some extent relevant. I don't know enough about reflection to say for sure, but from what I've understood it's pretty performance heavy, so if it's possible I'd rather avoid it... Follow-up question: As I said, I'm taking this anonymous object as an argument to a method. What datatype should I use in the method's signature? Will all properties be available if I use object?

  • Using sem_t in a Qt Project

    Hi everyone, I'm working on a simulation in Qt (C++), and would like to make use of a Semaphore wrapper class I made for the sem_t type. Although I am including semaphore.h in my wrapper class, running qmake provides the following error: 'sem_t does not name a type' I believe this is a library/linking error, since I can compile the class without problems from the command line. I've read that you can specify external libraries to include during compilation. However, I'm a) not sure how to do this in the project file, and b) not sure which library to include in order to access semaphore.h. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   • Custom Control Not Playing Nice With PropertyGrid

    I have a class that is implementing a custom ToolStripItem. Everything seems to work great until I try to add the item to a ContextMenuStrip at design time. If I try to add my custom control straight from the ContextMenuStrip the PropertyGrid freezes up and will not let me modify my Checked or Text properties. But if I go into the ContextMenuStrip PropertyGrid and add my custom control through the Items(...) property, I can modify the custom control just fine within that dialog. I'm not sure if I'm missing an attribute somewhere of if its a problem with the underlying code. Here is a copy of the CustomToolStripItem class. As you can see, its a very simple class.   • Jquery autocomplete not firing on keyup unless focus changes

    I am using a jquery autocomplete and i have a keyup event for my textbox. When I enter in a letter the function is called but the box is not populated. Once I click away from the box and then click back into it the autocomplete works great. Really weird issue and I have no idea how to fix it.   • How do I keep a table up to date across 4 db's to be used in SQL Replication Filtering?

    I have a Win Form, Data Entry, application that uses 4 seperate Data Bases. This is an occasionally connected app that uses Merge Replication (SQL 2005) to stay in Sync. This is working just fine. The next hurdle I am trying to tackle is adding Filters to my Publications. Right now we are replicating 70mbs, compressed, to each of our 150 subscribers when, truthfully, they only need a tiny fraction of that. Using Filters I am able to accomplish this(see code below) but I had to make a mapping table in order to do so. This mapping table consists of 3 columns. A PrimaryID(Guid), WorkerName(varchar), and ClientID(int). The problem is I need this table present in all FOUR Databases in order to use it for the filter since, to my knowledge, views or cross-db query's are not allowed in a Filter Statement. What are my options? Seems like I would set it up to be maintained in 1 Database and then use Triggers to keep it updated in the other 3 Databases. In order to be a part of the Filter I have to include that table in the Replication Set so how do I flag it appropriately. Is there a better way, altogether? SELECT <published_columns> FROM [dbo].[tblPlan] WHERE [ClientID] IN (select ClientID from [dbo].[tblWorkerOwnership] where WorkerID = SUSER_SNAME()) Which allows you to chain together Filters, this next one is below the first one so it only pulls from the first's Filtered Set. I didn't make it. I inherited it and was then told to make it a "disconnected app."

    Is there a list of NIC models that I should use with various HVM guests in Xen 4.0? Is there even a list of possible choices for the model=field? I'm planning on running both Windows and FreeBSD guests on the particular Xen box that I'm configuring now, and ideally I'd like a setting that can work on both of them and get me gigabit speeds without a lot of extra hassle loading special drivers (similar to VMware's e1000 NIC option). Any suggestions? The vif line I'm currently using in my config is: vif = [ 'type=ioemu,bridge=eth0,model=ne2k_pci,script=vif-ovs' ] This works in my Windows XP SP3 VM, but is only recognized as a 10Mbit interface. Changing to model=e1000 or model=i82557b resulted in Windows not being able to find a driver for the NIC.

  • Linux SW Raid: whole disk or per-partition?

    I have inherited a machine which has 2 physical disks and uses Linux SW RAID(1). Both disks are partitioned and are are all individual arrays (/dev/md0, /dev/md6, etc.). Those arrays are then mounted (/boot, /home, etc. even /tmp). As RAID is designed to mitigate physical failures, is there any reason why one would use this technique over whole-disk arrays that are then partitioned (perhaps using LVM)? This seems prone to more potential issues, but may have some special properties that I haven't been able to glean. I'm planning on moving this setup to: disks?SWRAID(1)?LVM as I'll be making multiple VMs out of the one machine, but wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing when I got rid of the old setup.

    An application asks me to install an old pHPshield version but prior to that it asks that I delete all pHPshield loaders in the php extension_dir directory. Am planning to encode some of my own php files with the newer pHPSHIELD version (8+) so I need to also upload newer loaders, but am not sure if it's ok to have multiple pHPSHIELD loaders in the extension dir. Can someone please clarify this confusion? My server runs php 5.2.14 with phpSHIELD Loader Version 5.0.1 and an i386 structure on Centos. The pHPSHILED demo created me a bunch of folders containing the loaders(files that end with .lin extension. I assume the folder Linux_x86-32 is the correct one for my server structure and it contains files like ixed.5.0.1.lin . Can I upload these next to the existing one in the extension_dir directory? Thank you

  • Throughput tool with decent graphing.

    I've been looking through some of the tools available for measuring network throughput, namely iperf, bwping, ttcp, etc. I am planning on doing throughput tests over a long period of time, so what I really need is good graphing output, preferably rrd graphs. The Jperf frontend for iperf will generate a graph, and bmon has a nice command-line graph, but these simply count seconds since the test was started. I am trying to measure trends in throughput over times of the day, so a graph with times and days is necessary. So a way to get iperf to log to RRDs would be best, if this isn't possible could someone point me toward another solution?

    I am using VFPOLEDB driver to read DBF files and I keep getting this error and I am not sure why and how to fix the problem: The provider could not determine the Decimal value. For example, the row was just created, the default for the Decimal column was not available, and the consumer had not yet set a new Decimal value. Here is the code.
