  • Database design for heavy timed data logging

    Hi, I have an application where I receive each data 40.000 rows. I have 5 million rows to handle (500 Mb MySQL 5.0 database). Actually, thoses rows are stored in the same table = slow to update, hard to backup, ... Which king of scheme is used in such application to allow long term accessibility to the datas without problems with too big tables, easy backup, fast read / write ?     Hi, I'm new to using TFS build. I've got a build defined that runs as a continuous integration. It creates a drop folder, but there's nothing in it. What's the best practice for moving stuff in the drop folder? I've seen a Binaries folder, do I need to copy things into their, or do I alter the TFSbuild.proj in some way to copy the files I want to the drop folder? Thanks.

    I don't know what's the best way to doing this. On my application.html.erb I define a header div. My default controller ( root ) is a homepage controller. And I wish that if I'm at index of the homepage the header is rendering with some content, but all other controllers render another content inside that header. Sometimes I have repeating events, stored as weekly repeating, so if the date is 6-10-10, and I am repeating an event every two weeks from that day (including that day) what is the best way to find dates for every two weeks from 6-10-10? For example, let's say the date is 7-8-10, how can I check to see that date meets my criteria?

  • How to create a static header that remains even when navigating to other pages (lala.com)

    I'm interested in the way lala.com works. They have a header that remains fixed at the top of the browser and they have a flash music player in it. You can click on other links in the site and they are displayed below the header but the header is not disrupted and can continue playing music.
