  • Drupal Views pulling Data Fields

    I'm a little new to drupal but have been using things like devel module and theme developer to speed up the learning process. My question, is it possible to theme an entire views BLOCK from a single views tpl.php page OR even a preprocess? When I'm grabbing the $view object I can see results $node-result, it has all of the results, but it doesn't have all my views fields. I'm missing things like, node path, taxonomy titles and paths, etc. From my understanding, Drupal wants you to individually theme EACH output field. It seems rather superfluous to create so many extra templates when I've already got over HALF of my results coming through the $view object Would outputting node over field make this easier? Or am going in the wrong direction with $view-result? Thanks!

    Is there a way to instantiate a new PHP object in a similar manner to those in jQuery? I'm talking about assigning a variable number of arguments when creating the object. For example, I know I could do something like: ... //in my Class __contruct($name, $height, $eye_colour, $car, $password) { ... } $p1 = new person("bob", "5'9", "Blue", "toyota", "password"); But I'd like to set only some of them maybe. So something like: $p1 = new person({ name: "bob", eyes: "blue"}); Which is more along the lines of how it is done in jQuery and other frameworks. Is this built in to PHP? Is there a way to do it? Or a reason I should avoid it?

    I'm a little unclear on the difference between reflow + repaint (if there's any difference at all) Seems like reflow might be shifting the position of various DOM elements, where repaint is just rendering a new object. E.g. reflow would occur when removing an element and repaint would occur when changing its color. Is this true?

    i am new to using jQuery and I just want to know how I can check whether a draggable object has been removed from the droppable object. Example, i have a dog and I dragged it to a doghouse which has a lightbulb that will light up indicating that the dog is there.   • Jetty 7 Continuations: How to *not* redispatch the request?

    I'm using Jetty 7 continuations to implement some asynchronous processing. What I'm trying to do is start off the continuation (via .suspend()), and then hand the continuation off to some other object that will compose the response, which works fine. But Jetty keeps redispatching the response (with isInitial = false) to the servlet, and I don't want or need that, because the response is being dealt with by some other object. So, I'd like to find a way to explicitly not redispatch the request on timeout or expire, because I'm using an event-driven series of callbacks to actually produce the response.

If a String is given, its added as a class to the label. If a Function is given, its called with the label (as a jQuery object) as its only argument. That can be used to add a text like "ok!". Currently I'm only object given to me is the label, and I can only add text to it. Now what I want is to have unique success message. For example: username field will have a success message: 'username okay!' email = 'email seems right' something along those lines, instead of displaying just one generic success message on all the fields. The context goes something like this. There are Ships and Missiles, for which Ships will use Missiles and interact with them A Container exists which will hold 'a list' of ships. A Container exists which will hold 'a list' of planets. One can apply a function over all elements in the Container (for_each) Ships and Missles can be created/destroyed at any time New objects automatically insert themselves into the proper container. One must have a ship, in order to access the list of ships. One must have a missile in order to be able to access the list of missiles. That feels awkward. My question boils down to "Is there a better way to do this?" Automatic object container creation Automatic object insertion Container access without requiring an object in the list to access it.     In BioPerl, a sequence object can have any number of features, and each of these can have subfeatures nested within them. For example, a feature may be a complete coding sequence of a gene, and its subfeatures might be individual exons that are concatenated to form the full coding sequence. However, when I use BioPerl to write a sequence object to a file in genbank or embl format, only the top-level features are written to the file, not the sub-features nested within the top-level features. How can I store my subfeatures in sequence files? Should I just convert all my subfeatures into top-level features, and then reconstruct the tree structure next time I read in the sequence?

    I am working on an Asset Database problem. I enter assets into a database. Every object is an asset and has variables within the asset table. An object is also a type of asset. In this example the type is server. Here is the Query to retrieve all necessary data: SELECT asset.id ,asset.company ,asset.location ,asset.purchaseDate ,asset.purchaseOrder ,asset.value ,asset.type ,asset.notes ,server.manufacturer ,server.model ,server.serialNumber ,server.esc ,server.warranty ,server.user ,server.prevUser ,server.cpu ,server.memory ,server.hardDrive FROM asset LEFT JOIN server ON server.id = asset.id WHERE asset.id = '$id' I then assign all results into single php variables. How would I write a query/script to update an asset?
