    Hi, I just noticed that if I have an identity column in a table, when I insert new rows MS SQL 2008 is automatically filling up the sequence if there are discontinuity. I mean, if in my identity column I have 1,2,5,6 if I insert other two rows in the table the system puts automatically 3,7 in the identity column. Do you know how to control this behavior? THANKS

It does, however, make use of rich high level programming techniques such as compile-time metaprogramming, and OOP - including run-time dispatch. I want to draw ER diagrams, UML class diagrams and UML sequence diagrams. However to have a clean mapping between the two, consistent conventions must be applied. So, I am hopping someone has some references to material that establishes or applies such conventions to similar style c-code.

    When creating new SOAP WebService server project using Delphi XE2 the wizard allows to set change port and HTTPS properties. Port is set to 443, HTTPS flag is checked, but when trying to connect to created server it returns incorrect transport (HTTP instead of HTTPS) in WSDL and generates HTTP links on the Service Info Page. The auto-generated page is not so important, but wrong information in WSDL file is a problem. I found this remark in BOL: MIN finds the lowest value in the collating sequence defined in the underlying database So if I have a table that has one row with the following values: Data AA AB AC Doing a SELECT MIN(DATA) would return back AA. I just want to understand the why behind this and understand the BOL a little better. Thanks!

  • Python - counting sign changes

    I have a list of numbers I am reading left to right. Anytime I encounter a sign change when reading the sequence I want to count it. X = [-3,2,7,-4,1,-1,1,6,-1,0,-2,1] X = [-, +, +, -, +, -, +, +, -, -,-,+] So, in this list there are 8 sign changes. When Item [0] (in this case -3) is negative it is considered a sign change. Also, any 0 in the list is considered [-]. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
