  • jquery child selector problems

    - by codedude
    I have a basic website nav layout that looks like this: <li class="folder parent_folder"> <a href="#">Some Folder</a> <ul class="submenu"> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> <li class="file"><a href="#">An awesome file</a></li> </ul> I have several of these throughout the site's page. Using jquery, I'm trying to make it so that when you click "li.parent_folder" "ul.submenu" disappears and then reappears when you click "li.parent_folder" again. I can get it to do this but I have a problem. When I click on the "li.parent_folder" all the "ul.submenu" disapear instead of just the one that is the child of it. What would be the correct jquery code to accomplish this? (Oh, I'm using jquery ui also in this project What I have right now is this: $('li.parent_folder').click(function() { $('li.parent_folder ul.submenu').hide(); });

  • Extract domain from body of email

    - by iman453
    Hi, I was wondering if there is any way I could extract domain names from the body of email messages in python. I was thinking of using regular expressions, but I am not too great in writing them, and was wondering if someone could help me out. Here's a sample email body: <tr><td colspan="5"><font face="verdana" size="4" color="#999999"><b>Resource Links - </b></font><span class="snv"><a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=4/RZ">Get Listed Here</a></span></td><td class="snv" valign="bottom" align="right"><a href="http://sprinks.about.com/faq/index.htm">What Is This?</a></td></tr><tr><td colspan="6" bgcolor="#999999"><img height="1" width="1"></td></tr><tr><td colspan="6"><map name="sgmap"><area href="http://x.about.com/sg/r/3412.htm?p=0&amp;ref=fooddrinksl_sg" shape="rect" coords="0, 0, 600, 20"><area href="http://x.about.com/sg/r/3412.htm?p=1&amp;ref=fooddrinksl_sg" shape="rect" coords="0, 55, 600, 75"><area href="http://x.about.com/sg/r/3412.htm?p=2&amp;ref=fooddrinksl_sg" shape="rect" coords="0, 110, 600, 130"></map><img border="0" src="http://z.about.com/sg/sg.gif?cuni=3412" usemap="#sgmap" width="600" height="160"></td></tr><tr><td colspan="6">&nbsp;</td></tr> <tr><td colspan="6"><a name="d"><font face="verdana" size="4" color="#cc0000"><b>Top Picks - </b></font></a><a href="http://slclk.about.com/?zi=1/BAO" class="srvb">Fun Gift Ideas</a><span class="snv"> from your <a href="http://chinesefood.about.com">Chinese Cuisine</a> Guide</span></td></tr><tr><td colspan="6" bgcolor="cc0000"><img height="1" width="1"></td></tr><tr><td colspan="6" class="snv"> So I would need "clk.about.com" etc. Thanks!

  • Is my slide-to-anchor jQuery routine a correct use of JavaScript, or is there a better way?

    - by Stuart Robson
    I'm currently working on a project with a one page design that'll slide up and down between sections on an <a href> link... Currently, i have it written as follows: <ul> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('top')">home</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('artistsmaterials')">artist's materials</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('pictureframing')">picture framing</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('gallery')">gallery</a></li> <li><a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('contactus')">contact us</a></li> </ul> ...with the most relevant portion being the links: <a href="javascript:void(0)" onClick="goToByScroll('contactus')"> Then in a .js file I have: function goToByScroll(id){ $('html,body').animate({scrollTop: $("#"+id).offset().top},'slow'); } Is this ok? Or should this be done a different way?

  • Is this a bug? Or is it a setting in ASP.NET 4 (or MVC 2)?

    - by John Gietzen
    I just recently started trying out T4MVC and I like the idea of eliminating magic strings. However, when trying to use it on my master page for my stylesheets, I get this: <link href="<%: Links.Content.site_css %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> rending like this: <link href="&lt;%: Links.Content.site_css %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> Whereas these render correctly: <link href="<%: Url.Content("~/Content/Site.css") %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="<%: Links.Content.site_css + "" %>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> It appears that, as long as I have double quotes inside of the code segment, it works. But when I put anything else in there, it escapes the leading "less than". Is this something I can turn off? Is this a bug? Edit: This does not happen for <script src="..." ... />, nor does it happen for <a href="...">. Edit 2: Minimal case: <link href="<%: string.Empty %>" /> vs <link href="<%: "" %>" />

  • Parent and siblings inherits a child list items styles

    - by elvista
    I have a simple menu <ul id="menu"> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item 1</a></li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item 2</a></li> <li class="expanded"><a href="#">Menu Item 3</a> <ul> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item a</a></li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item b</a></li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item c</a></li> </ul> </li> <li class="leaf"><a href="#">Menu Item 4</a></li> </ul> and ul#menu li:hover {font-weight:bold;} The problem I am facing is when I hover above a ul li li, the parent as well as all its siblings gets the hover effect. I only want the list item I hovered above to get the effect. I tried ul#menu li.leaf:hover {..}, ul#menu li.expanded:hover {..} , but even in that case, when I hover above li.expanded, it's child inherits the style. It is important for me to style the list items, not a (the style is more complicated than the one I posted) How do I fix this?

  • How can I make a simple path generator?

    - by user360737
    Hi all, I have a link that I have to repeat 50 times, for each folder, and I have 15 folders.the link that I have to repeat looks like this: <a href="update/images/Cars/car (x).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> now, the jpg files are named car 1- car 50. and I would really like to be able to generate this script so that I can input the path "update/images/Cars/" the picture title (car) and the input the number of times that I need this link, and then have it spit out something that looks like this: <a href="update/images/Cars/car (1).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> <a href="update/images/Cars/car (2).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> <a href="update/images/Cars/car (3).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> <a href="update/images/Cars/car (4).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> <a href="update/images/Cars/car (5).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> <a href="update/images/Cars/car (6).JPG" rel="lightbox[cars]"></a> and then it keeps repeating, I'm assuming this can be done with a counter, but I'm not sure. Thanks!

  • Drop Down not even showing up in IE6

    - by blackessej
    I've got a drop down menu here that just plain won't show up in IE6. The site works perfectly in every other browser. Seems daft to lose sleep over IE6, I know, but the site is for a demographic who could very well still be using it. Here's the CSS: html { height:100%; } body, p, a, ul, li, ol, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 { margin:0; padding:0; } body { behavior:url("csshover3.htc"); font-size:14px; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; background-color:#d3d3d3; height:100%; } h1 { font-size:18px; color:#752eca; text-decoration:none; } h2 { font-size:14px; color:#909090; text-decoration:none!important; } p { text-indent:20px; color:#000; } p a { color:#000; text-decoration:underline; } p.foot { text-indent:0px; } p.link { font-size:18px; color:#30F; text-decoration:underline!important; } a { color:#4d2288; text-decoration:none; outline:none; } a:visited { color:#4d2288; } p a:hover { text-decoration:underline!important; } ul#nav { padding:5px; margin:0px auto; width:100%; } ul#nav li a { display:block; font-weight:bold; padding:2px 10px; background:#bacddb; } ul#nav li a:hover { background:#888; color:#fff; } li { list-style:none; float:left; position:relative; width:225px; text-align:center; margin:0px auto; margin-right:4px; border:1px solid #4d2288; } li ul { display:none; position:relative; width:auto; top:0; left:0; margin-left:-1px; } li>ul { top:auto; left:auto; border-top:none; } li:hover ul, li.over ul { display:block; } ul#nav li.current a { background:#b8ab28; } ul#nav li.current a:hover { background:#888; } img { margin:10px 0 5px; } *html img { margin:20px; } .coltextimg { position:relative; float:left; background-position:left bottom; padding:0px 20px 10px 0px; border:none; } #maincontent { width:940px; margin:0px auto; postition:absolute; } *html #maincontent { margin-left:42px; } #header { float:left; width:100%; height:auto!important; height:100%; min-height:100%; margin:0px auto; background-image:url(images/banner_test.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; border:2px solid #752eca; -webkit-border-top-left-radius:10px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius:10px; -moz-border-radius-topleft:10px; -moz-border-radius-topright:10px; border-top-left-radius:10px; border-top-right-radius:10px; } .colmask { position:relative; margin-top:160px; clear:both; float:left; width:100%; overflow:hidden; } .colright, .colmid { float:left; width:100%; position:relative; } .col1, .col2 { float:left; position:relative; padding:10px 0 1em 0; overflow:hidden; } .twocol { background:#fff; } .twocol .colmid { right:45%; background:#fff; } .twocol .col1 { width:51%; left:47%; text-align:justify; z-index:0; } .twocol .col2 { width:41%; left:51%; text-align:justify; z-index:0; } .twocol .colimg { border:2px solid #a0a0a0; } .twocol .colvid1 { width:360px; height:240px; } .twocol .colvid2 { width:360px; height:240px; } #footer { text-align:center; font-size:9px; padding:10px 0 1em 0; clear:both; width:100%; height:100%; } *html #footer { height:43px; } #footer p a { text-decoration:none; } #lyr_ddmenu { position:absolute; z-index:1; height:10px; top:120px; float:left; width:1000px; margin:0px auto; padding:5px; } #contact { position:absolute; float:right; font-size:10px; } A.Controls:link { color:#666666; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold; } A.Controls:visited { color:#666666; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold; } A.Controls:active { color:#666666; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold; } A.Controls:hover { color:#be0000; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold; } And here's the html I'm having the specific problem with: <div id="maincontent"> <div id="header"> <div id="lyr_ddmenu"> <ul id="nav"> <li class="current"><href here...</a> <ul class="sub"> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> </ul></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <ul class="sub"> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> </ul></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <li><href here...</a></li> <ul class="sub"> <li><href here...</a></li> </ul></li> </ul> </div> Thanks!

  • Waiting until one event has happened before moving onto the next.

    - by jaasum
    I currently have a scrolling anchor animation that also adds an "active" class to the anchor clicked. I am trying to fit the below function into the works as well, so say someone clicks "anchor 1", "anchor 1" will get an active class and the window will scroll to that location. But, after that has happened say the user manually begins scrolling down the page, I want the active class to be removed. The problem I am running up against now is that the below function will happen when the scrolling animation from a clicked anchor is taking place. How can I disable this only when the window is being scrolled from a clicked anchor? $(window).scroll(function() { $('a[href^=#]').removeClass('active'); }); Here is the scrolling anchor script I am working with. /******* *** Anchor Slider by Cedric Dugas *** *** Http://www.position-absolute.com *** Never have an anchor jumping your content, slide it. Don't forget to put an id to your anchor ! You can use and modify this script for any project you want, but please leave this comment as credit. *****/ jQuery.fn.anchorAnimate = function(settings) { settings = jQuery.extend({ speed : 500 }, settings); return this.each(function(){ var caller = this $(caller).click(function (event) { event.preventDefault() var locationHref = window.location.href var elementClick = $(caller).attr("href") var destination = $(elementClick).offset().top; $("html:not(:animated),body:not(:animated)").animate({ scrollTop: destination}, settings.speed, 'easeOutCubic', function() { window.location.hash = elementClick }); return false; }) }) } And lastly, my jQuery // Scrolling Anchors $('[href^=#]').anchorAnimate(); // Active Class For Clicked Anchors var anchorscroll = $('a[href^=#]') anchorscroll.click(function(){ var anchorlocation = $(this).attr("href"); anchorscroll.removeClass('active'); $(this).addClass('active'); $('a[href='+anchorlocation+']').addClass('active'); });

  • HTML Setting Active with different background colour

    - by danit
    Here is my HTML List: <ul id="navlist"> <li class="item1"><a href="#">One</a></li> <li class="item2"><a href="#">Two</a></li> <li class="item3"><a href="#">Three</a></li> <li class="item4"><a href="#">Four</a></li> <li class="item5"><a href="#">Five</a></li> <li class="item6"><a href="#">Six</a></li> </ul> Each .itemx has a different background colour, so I need the active state to take into account the class. Obviously something like: <li class="item6" id="active"><a href="#">Six</a></li> #active.item6 { background: red; } Would work but IE6 doesnt like chained items in CSS so doesnt work when other items are set out in the CSS. Can I do this with jQuery where each item has a different background colour when 'active?

  • How to model a relationship that NHibernate (or Hibernate) doesn’t easily support

    - by MylesRip
    I have a situation in which the ideal relationship, I believe, would involve Value Object Inheritance. This is unfortunately not supported in NHibernate so any solution I come up with will be less than perfect. Let’s say that: “Item” entities have a “Location” that can be in one of multiple different formats. These formats are completely different with no overlapping fields. We will deal with each Location in the format that is provided in the data with no attempt to convert from one format to another. Each Item has exactly one Location. “SpecialItem” is a subtype of Item, however, that is unique in that it has exactly two Locations. “Group” entities aggregate Items. “LocationGroup” is as subtype of Group. LocationGroup also has a single Location that can be in any of the formats as described above. Although I’m interested in Items by Group, I’m also interested in being able to find all items with the same Location, regardless of which group they are in. I apologize for the number of stipulations listed above, but I’m afraid that simplifying it any further wouldn’t really reflect the difficulties of the situation. Here is how the above could be diagrammed: Mapping Dilemma Diagram: (http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/592ad48b1a.jpg) (I tried placing the diagram inline, but Stack Overflow won't allow that until I have accumulated more points. I understand the reasoning behind it, but it is a bit inconvenient for now.) Hmmm... Apparently I can't have multiple links either. :-( Analyzing the above, I make the following observations: I treat Locations polymorphically, referring to the supertype rather than the subtype. Logically, Locations should be “Value Objects” rather than entities since it is meaningless to differentiate between two Location objects that have all the same values. Thus equality between Locations should be based on field comparisons, not identifiers. Also, value objects should be immutable and shared references should not be allowed. Using NHibernate (or Hibernate) one would typically map value objects using the “component” keyword which would cause the fields of the class to be mapped directly into the database table that represents the containing class. Put another way, there would not be a separate “Locations” table in the database (and Locations would therefore have no identifiers). NHibernate (or Hibernate) do not currently support inheritance for value objects. My choices as I see them are: Ignore the fact that Locations should be value objects and map them as entities. This would take care of the inheritance mapping issues since NHibernate supports entity inheritance. The downside is that I then have to deal with aliasing issues. (Meaning that if multiple objects share a reference to the same Location, then changing values for one object’s Location would cause the location to change for other objects that share the reference the same Location record.) I want to avoid this if possible. Another downside is that entities are typically compared by their IDs. This would mean that two Location objects would be considered not equal even if the values of all their fields are the same. This would be invalid and unacceptable from the business perspective. Flatten Locations into a single class so that there are no longer inheritance relationships for Locations. This would allow Locations to be treated as value objects which could easily be handled by using “component” mapping in NHibernate. The downside in this case would be that the domain model becomes weaker, more fragile and less maintainable. Do some “creative” mapping in the hbm files in order to force Location fields to be mapped into the containing entities’ tables without using the “component” keyword. This approach is described by Colin Jack here. My situation is more complicated than the one he describes due to the fact that SpecialItem has a second Location and the fact that a different entity, LocatedGroup, also has Locations. I could probably get it to work, but the mappings would be non-intuitive and therefore hard to understand and maintain by other developers in the future. Also, I suspect that these tricky mappings would likely not be possible using Fluent NHibernate so I would use the advantages of using that tool, at least in that situation. Surely others out there have run into similar situations. I’m hoping someone who has “been there, done that” can share some wisdom. :-) So here’s the question… Which approach should be preferred in this situation? Why?

  • PHP: Convert <ul> <li> Tree HTML tag to an array

    - by marknt15
    Hi, I'm using jsTree and I need to convert this HTML tag tree code <ul> <li> to a PHP array. The jsTree HTML tag will be passed to PHP to be parsed and store in a structured tree PHP array(see below for the PHP array structure). Additional question: Is my desired PHP array structure good or you can suggest a good structure? I'm open for suggestions. Thanks in advance :) Cheers, Mark jsTree Screenshot: HTML Tree String: <ul class="ltr"> <li id="phtml_1" class=" open"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 1</a> <ul> <li class="leaf" id="phtml_2"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.1</a> </li> <li class="open" id="phtml_3"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 1.1</a> <ul> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.1.1</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li class="last open" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 1.2</a> <ul> <li class="leaf" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.2.1</a> </li> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 1.2.2</a> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li id="phtml_5" class="file open"> <a style="" class=" " href="#"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Folder 2</a> <ul> <li class="leaf" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 2.1</a> </li> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class="clicked"><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Child 2.2</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li class="leaf last" rel="default"> <a href="" style="" class=" "><ins>&nbsp;</ins>Outer Child</a> </li> </ul> PHP Array Structure: <?php $tree_array = array( 'Folder 1' => array( 'Child 1.1', 'Folder 1.1' => array( 'Child 1.1.1' ), 'Folder 1.2' => array( 'Child 1.2.1', 'Child 1.2.2' ), ), 'Folder 2' => array( 'Child 2.1', 'Child 2.2' ), 'Outer Child' ); echo '<pre>',print_r($tree_array),'</pre>'; ?> PHP print_r Output: Array ( [Folder 1] => Array ( [0] => Child 1.1 [Folder 1.1] => Array ( [0] => Child 1.1.1 ) [Folder 1.2] => Array ( [0] => Child 1.2.1 [1] => Child 1.2.2 ) ) [Folder 2] => Array ( [0] => Child 2.1 [1] => Child 2.2 ) [0] => Outer Child )

  • Content display problems when using Suckerfish menus with 960.gs and IE

    - by Cedar Jensen
    I'm using 960.gs layout and when I add the suckerfish menu as part of the content to one of the grids, the contents of adjacent siblings bleed through the menu in all versions of IE. In the listed html below, the text from 'belowFoldSection' will appear through the menu when it is visible and has enough items to make it span over 2nd section. However, the contents of 'introSummary' will be underneath the menu, as expected. I've set the z-index for #nav and #nav ul in my css and this of course makes it work in FF, Chrome and Safari, but not in IE (because IE incorrectly assigns child elements its own z-index). If I change the .grid_nn class 'position' attribute (set by default in the 960 template) from 'relative' to absolute, this fixes it in IE. However, it is my understanding that I don't want the child elements of the 'container_12' to be taken out of the flow of the document and want them positioned relative to the .container_12's starting point. • Having trouble on mouse over tabs

    - by user225269
    I downloaded a webpage template from the internet because I don't know how to design webpage on photoshop. This was the one I downloaded: http://www.freewebtemplates.com/download/templates/9839 And modified it. And I have this code for mouse over tabs from dynamic drive. But doesn't seem to be working with the template that I downloaded. Here is my current code: <script src="mouseovertabs.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Designed by Web Page Templates</title> <meta name="keywords" content="" /> <meta name="description" content="" /> <link href="default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <table border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="bg1"> <tr> <td class="text1" style="height: 50px;">xd627 information management system</td> </tr> <tr> <div id="mytabsmenu" class="tabsmenuclass"> <td class="bg5"><table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="height: 62px; padding-top: 15px;"> <tr align="center"> <td><ul><li><a href="index.html" class="link1">Homepage</a></li></td> <td><li><a href="RegStuds.php" class="link1">Database</a></li></td> <td><li><a href="#" class="link1">About</a></li> </ul></td> <a href="submenucontents.htm" style="visibility:hidden">Sub Menu contents</a> <div id="mysubmenuarea" class="tabsmenucontentclass"> <!--1st link within submenu container should point to the external submenu contents file--> <a href="submenucontents.htm" style="visibility:hidden">Sub Menu contents</a> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> //mouseovertabsmenu.init("tabs_container_id", "submenu_container_id", "bool_hidecontentsmouseout") mouseovertabsmenu.init("mytabsmenu", "mysubmenuarea", true) </script> </div> What might be wrong here,its working perfectly with my previous one, but with no layout at all: <script src="mouseovertabs.js" type="text/javascript"> /*********************************************** * Mouseover Tabs Menu- (c) Dynamic Drive DHTML code library (www.dynamicdrive.com) * This notice MUST stay intact for legal use * Visit Dynamic Drive at http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ for this script and 100s more ***********************************************/ </script> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <body> <div id="mytabsmenu" class="tabsmenuclass"> <ul> <li><a href="" rel="gotsubmenu[selected]">Database Manipulation</a></li> <li><a href="" rel="gotsubmenu" >Register User</a></li> <li><a href="loginform2.php" rel="gotsubmenu" >Logout</a></li> <li><a href=""></a></li> </ul> </div> <div id="mysubmenuarea" class="tabsmenucontentclass"> <!--1st link within submenu container should point to the external submenu contents file--> <a href="submenucontents.htm" style="visibility:hidden">Sub Menu contents</a> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> //mouseovertabsmenu.init("tabs_container_id", "submenu_container_id", "bool_hidecontentsmouseout") mouseovertabsmenu.init("mytabsmenu", "mysubmenuarea", true) </script> </body> </html>

  • Installed SQL Server 2008 and now TFS is broken.

    - by johnnycakes
    Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken. On a client computer, if I go Team - Connect to Team Foundation Server, I get this error: Team Foundation services are not available from server myserver. Technical information (for administrator): TF30059: Fatal error while initializing web service. So I head on over to my event viewer on the server. Under Application, I see one warning and two errors. First, the warning: Source: SQLSERVERAGENT Event ID: 208 Description: SQL Server Scheduled Job 'TfsWorkItemTracking Process Identities Job' (0x21F395C1F444CA499A63EBF05D717749) - Status: Failed - Invoked on: 2010-04-26 13:30:00 - Message: The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 9 (ProcessIdentitiesSchedule). The last step to run was step 1 (Process Identities). Then the first error: Source: TFS Services Event ID: 3017 Description: TF53010: The following error has occurred in a Team Foundation component or extension: Date (UTC): 4/26/2010 5:36:29 PM Machine: myserver Application Domain: /LM/W3SVC/799623628/Root/Services-2-129167769888923968 Assembly: Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Server, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a; v2.0.50727 Process Details: Process Name: w3wp Process Id: 4008 Thread Id: 224 Account name: DOMAIN\TFSService Detailed Message: TF53013: A crash report is being prepared for Microsoft. • Failover strategy for a 4 servers scenario

    - by Joao Villa-Lobos
    Hi all, I am trying to figure out how to set up replication & failover in a scenario with 4 servers (2 per location) where any server may assume the Master role. My initial scenario is the following one: 2 servers in location A (One Master, One Slave); 2 servers in location B (Two Slaves). For this I'm thinking on using the configuration Master-Master Active-Passive suggested on O'Reilly's "High Performance MySQL" on all of them so each one can become a Master when needed. If the Master "dies" the other server from location A assumes the Master role whenever possible. It will always have a bigger priority then the servers on location B. A server on location B will only switch to Master if no server on location A is able to do so. Since MySQL can't handle this automatically I need some other way to implement this. I've read already about heartbeat and Maatkit. Is this the way to go? Has anyone used this in a similar scenario? Is there some other way to go in order to achieve this? Any pointers about failout will be appreciated. I want to keep this as simple as possible avoiding stuff such as DRDB. I'm not concerned about high availability just a way to switch roles automatically without too many hassle. I'm using SuSe Enterprise 10 and MySQL 5.1.30-community. Thanks in advance, João

  • Nginx infinite redirect loop

    - by Zachary Burt
    Why is http://compassionpit.com/blog/ going through an infinite redirect loop? Here's my nginx conf file. The site is run by a nodejs server on port 8000 and Apache serves up the blog (wordpress) and the forum (phpBB). The forum is resolving just fine, at http://www.compassionpit.com/forum/ ... server { listen 80; server_name www.compassionpit.org; rewrite ^/(.*) http://www.compassionpit.com/$1 permanent; } server { listen 80; # your server's public IP address server_name www.compassionpit.com; index index.php index.html; location ~ ^/$ { proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8000; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; } location @blogphp { internal; root /opt/blog/; include fastcgi_params; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root/index.php; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:8080; } location ~ ^/(forum|blog)/($|.*\.php) { root /opt/; include fastcgi_params; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root$fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_index index.php; fastcgi_pass 127.0.0.1:8080; } location ~ ^/(forum|blog) { root /opt/; try_files $uri $uri/ @blogphp; } location ~ ^/(forum|blog)/ { root /opt/; } location @backend { internal; proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8000; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; } location ~ / { root /opt/chat/static/; try_files $uri $uri/ @backend; } }

  • nginx error page and internal directives not working as expected

    - by Romain
    I'd like to setup my nginx server to return a specific error page on HTTP 50x status codes, and I'd like this page to be unavailable by a direct request from users (e.g., http//mysite/internalerror). For that, I'm using nginx's internal directive, but I must be missing something, as when I put that directive on my /internalerror location, nginx returns a custom 404 error (which isn't even my own 404 error page) when a page crashes. So, to summarize, here's what seems to happen: GET /Home nginx passes the query to Python I'm simulating an application bug to get the 502 error code nginx tries to return /InternalError from its error_page rule because of the internal rule, it finally fails back to a custom 404 error code <-- why? the documentation says error_page directives are not concerned by internal: http://wiki.nginx.org/HttpCoreModule#internal Here's an extract from nginx.conf with a few comments to point things out: error_page 404 /NotFound; error_page 500 502 503 504 =500 /InternalError; # HTTP 500 Error page declaration location / { try_files /Maintenance.html $uri @pythonbackend; } location @pythonbackend { include uwsgi_params; uwsgi_pass unix:///tmp/uwsgi.sock; } location ~* \.(py|pyc)$ { # This internal location works OK and returns my own 404 error page internal; } location /__Maintenance.html { # This one also works fine internal; } location ~* /internalerror { # This one doesn't work and returns nginx's 404 error page when I trigger an error somewhere on my site internal; } Thanks very much for your help!!

  • Prevent Windows from resizing all the apps on the desktop when switching monitors

    - by Greg Hewgill
    Short version: When moving my laptop and sleeping between using different monitors, all my open windows are crammed into the upper left corner as if they tried to fit on the laptop internal screen resolution. I plug in and switch to the external monitor before unlocking my session. Is there a way to prevent this automatic resizing? Longer version: I have a laptop that I move between two locations. I have one docking station, and the same kind of monitor configured for 1600x1200, in both locations. The internal laptop screen is awful so I don't use it. Location A: Docking station, monitor connected via DVI. Location B: No docking station, external monitor connected via VGA cable. In this location I have the laptop lid open for keyboard access but I don't use the laptop screen. When moving from Location A to Location B, the laptop wakes up from sleep, displaying the screen on the internal monitor. I switch to the external monitor display (using Fn+F8 on this laptop), and only after that do I unlock my session with my password. However, Windows has crammed all my nicely arranged windows into the upper left corner as if it were trying to fit them all on the laptop internal screen resolution. When moving from Location B to Location A, I have the laptop lid closed when using the docking station so Windows apparently concludes the screen resolution is 1600x1200 and doesn't resize any windows. The laptop is a Dell Latitude running Windows 7 Professional.

  • Apache DAV at `/` with normal hosting at `/foo` - how?

    - by mandrake
    Should I not be able to have a configuration where I serve SVN repos with SVNParentPath at <Location /> and then override DAV and host normal files using another location <Location /foo>? I wish to host my XSLT files on the same subdomain and still host repos at root. Of course, if I was to have a repo called foo, that would not be accessible, and that's ok. <VirtualHost *:80> ... #Host XSLT files here <Location /foo> DAV Off </Location> #Host my repos relative to root, such as /my_repo/ <Location /> DAV svn SVNParentPath "myrepos" SVNListParentPath on SVNIndexXSLT "/foo/my.xsl" ... </Location> </VirtualHost> But DAV SVN still looks for a repo: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <D:error xmlns:D="DAV:" xmlns:m="http://apache.org/dav/xmlns" xmlns:C="svn:"> <C:error/> <m:human-readable errcode="720003"> Could not open the requested SVN filesystem </m:human-readable> </D:error>
