• Strange Google Maps v3 geocode behavior when a quote is in the address

  See my test page. When on the page, click the top left button "Geocode". If you are in Firefox, geocoder.geocode() will have it's status equal to ERROR (and pop an alert after a few seconds). In Internet Explorer (at least 7), everything is fine and the marker is added to the map. If you remove the quote from the address (l'Assomption -- lAssomption), everything execute fine in Firefox. Now with my question: how a quote can "crash" the Google Maps V3 API only in Firefox!?

  I have written a program in C# which connects to a POP Server and retrieves raw email message strings from the server using POP3 command RETR. Since the email message being retrieved by the program is in plain text format with all the headers and message body with in the same, its too difficult to extract each header and mail body from the raw string. Could anybody tell me a solution by which I can parse the entire raw text to a System.Net.Mail.MailMessage object? • Copying Data to a Master sheet from other sheets without duplicates

  I have four workbooks, three of which are for data entries, and the latter which hosts all data entered in the other workbooks; as a matter of fact, it serves as a master workbook. I need code to copy data entered in each workbook in sheet 1 to be copied to the next available row on sheet 1 of the master workbook, but if the data to be copied from these individual workbooks are duplicates, then a message box should pop up displaying that its a duplicate. To be precise, I want the users to type p in column j indicating process, and click a button in the spreadsheet to copy the data to the master sheet. I would be glad for any assistance. The program is executed in java 1.5 VM installed in RHEL Any idea when this kind of exception will pop up? • Flex - How do I get the absolute X and Y coordinate including HTML offset?

  Hey everyone, I am calling a JS function through the ExternalInterface using Flex which requires the absolute X and Y coordinates to create a pop-up menu. The Flex application is displayed on the center of an HTML page, therefore there is an HTML X and Y offset to consider. I have tried using the LocalToGlobal and ContentToGlobal functions, but these are just giving me the X and Y coordinates relative to the Flex application, it is not considering the HTML X and Y offset of having the Flex app in the center of the page or varying different screen resolutions. Is the best approach to retrieve the HTML X and Y offset using JavaScript? Is there a Flex function I can use that provides the absolute X and Y coordinates based on the HTML page? Thanks!

• Custom editor in QAbstractTableModel

  Does anyone have an example of using a QWidget as an editor in a QAbstractTableModel? I have a column which when edited should create a QCombobox with the list of choices. The docs seem to suggest I need to write a QAbstractItemDelegate and a custom paint function but that seems overkill to simply pop-up a standard QCombobox in Qt::EditRole. Note - the combo box contents are the same for every row and it only needs to be shown when somebody clicks in the cell. I know this should be simple but I can't get it to work. It's easy for a QTableWidget based table - but I need it for a very large data table.

While posting their tips - I've recently implemented the option where they can post that tip to their facebook wall as well. They simply check the box - saying "Post to Facebook" and then the facebook pop-up opens up where they login and publish the tip to their facebook wall. • Disable Ctrl-Alt-Del and shutdown for kiosk

  I finished an app for a client. After talking for a bit he would like me to do an additional app or recommend one for their kiosk. The client would like a way to prevent the computer from shutting down. They like to disable Ctrl+Alt+Delete (also so processes cant be killed), Alt+F4 to close their browser and no windows button to make the start menu pop up for the user to click or use keyboard to shutdown. Obviously there should be a way to unlock it I told them i'll look into it but they really don't need it. They are using Windows 7. Is there a WinAPI call I can use or an already existing app or a lib to do this?

AuthName "Myfolder" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile url/protect/.htpasswd Require valid-user Also created a .htpassword file which contain username:password When I run my URL http://localhost/url/protect, I got a pop up asking username and password, I entered username as username and password as password. After that I got an error page "server error 500" "The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there was an error in a CGI script. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster." Why this happened?. Any thing wrong here? Anything needs to see my pages under the folder. Please give me the answer.

  I need to make a little JS app to scroll automatically through a list of URLs. I've chosen to have the functionality in a pop-up, for various reasons. The syntax to change the opening window's URL is: window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example.com"; This works fine with one URL, but if two statements are called, only one is executed. I experimented with an alert statement between two of the above statements, and the alert event made the second statement function properly: window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example1.com"; alert("hello world"); window.opener.location.href = "http://www.example2.com"; Question is: does anyone know how to get the first and second window.opener statements to work, without the intervening alert();? Also, how can I add a pause between the two statements, so that the second executes a couple of seconds after the first? Thanks so much!

• Why does the VBA Editor open on its own sometimes?

  I've created a small script in Outlook 2003 VBA that watches for new appointments, and sets them to tentative and no reminder as I create them. However, I now find that seemingly at random, the VBA editor will open itself. It doesn't happen when I actually use the new script, but it did happen this morning when I un-hibernated my laptop, for example. The editor doesn't pop up any runtime errors or highlight any lines in the script, it's just there as if I had pressed Alt-F11 to launch it. Sometimes I close other apps and see that it's been sitting back there for a while. This behavior has only been occurring since I created this new script. Any ideas why this would occur? Thanks!

  Can you cast an object to one that implements an interface? Right now, I'm building a GUI, and I don't want to rewrite the Confirm/Cancel code (A confirmation pop-up) over and over again. So, what I'm trying to do is write a class that gets passed the class it's used in and tells the class whether or not the user pressed Confirm or Cancel. The class always implements a certain interface.   Hi all, I am learning how to use JQuery validation plugin, and came across some questions about the JQuery magic that works on the sumbit action. I got a simple HTML form which has got an input text field like this: <form class="cmxform" id="commentForm" method="get" action=""> <input id="cname" name="name" size="25" class="required" minlength="2" /> <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Submit"/> </form> The magic happened when I tried not to input any data into the field and pressed the submit button. I saw an error message in red pop up, and no matter how hard and how many times I pressed the submit button, nothing was submitted. It seemed that there was some scripts that disabled the submit action, but I just couldn't find which lines of codes in the JQuery Validatyion Plugin that did it.

The question is if I pop out(tap back on navigation bar) this controller before the second thread is done, the app will crash after [super dealloc], because "Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. • Program ends abruptly even in debugger - how did that happen?

  I am trying to debug a program that unexpectedly shuts down. When I say "shuts down, I mean one moment I am seeing all the windows being displayed, each of which is showing all the right data,then suddenly all the windows disappear. The is no messagebox reporting anything wrong. So I tried running the program in the debugger hoping that it would somehow trap whatever was causing the program to abort, but even within the debugger the program simply ends abruptly. The last line in the debugger is: The program '[5500] test.exe: Native' has exited with code 0 (0x0). My program which is extremely large and extremely old has a lot of self diagnostics. My suspicion is that perhaps a self test has failed and maybe I just called "exit()", forgetting to pop up a dialog explaining why. My question now is, how can I find out from which point in the code, my program quit?

I'm considering giving users the option to update their data via email - something similar to the functionality found in Flickr or Blogger where you email posts to a special email address. The email data is then processed and stored in the underlying database for the website. I'm using ASP.NET and SQL Server and using a shared hosting service.   Hello, I have a canvas (Panel Control) in my WinForms app where users can drag things like textbox's, labels etc around. But I want to make it easier for them to more precisely align the objects. I've read into it and Adorners seem to be the way to go? But, apparently it's only for WPF. WPF is not an option for me, unfortunately. What I'm trying to accomplish is to have lines pop up every time the user drags an object around in the canvas... Just how they work in the Windows Forms Designer View.   Hi, I want to update few variables when any of the toolbar button (like bold, italic etc) is clicked. I'm unable to trap 'click' event on any of these buttons. Could somebody give me an example when clicking on 'bold' button would also pop up an alert box? How can I trap 'paste' event?   I have created a test app that has in app purchasing. I am able to connect to the store and verify my product ID's. I then use my test user account to purchase a product. And guess what... it works... the first time. If I try to use the test user account to buy another product (the same product or a different one) then I get a pop up that says "An unknown error has occurred" with a "Cancel" and "Retry" option. If I retry then I get the same error. After hitting cancel I get the error: Error Domain=SKErrorDomain Code=0 UserInfo=0x161180 "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" Any ideas?

• Implementing a 'Send Feedback' feature in a Java desktop application

  I would like to implement a 'Send Feedback' option in a Java desktop application. One which will pop up a box for the user to enter a comment, then send it to us along with a screenshot of the application window. How would be the best way to communicate the data to us? Two obvious solutions spring to mind: Email - I'm thinking that the application would connect to an SMTP server set-up by us, with the username/password somehow hidden in the code. SMTP over SSL for security (not of the data being sent, but of the SMTP username/password). Web service - pretty self explanatory. Which of these would be best, or is there a better alternative?

  on larger projects i use a simple bug tracking system thats designed to be used by clients i have a lot of trouble convincing clients to use it (they send bug reports via email) does anyone have any strategies they can suggested? also, i have been playing around with a theory as to why this is the case; it goes like this: asking a client to log a bug is like taking your car to a mechanic for a service, and the mechanic hands you the engine oil and says "here, pop that in". basically, the client has paid you to do the work, logging a bug sounds too much like work, so they want you to do it thoughts? -- LM
