• How to maintain original figure numbers in pdf document saved from Word 2007 file?

  I have a Word 2007 document in which the Figure numbers and List of Figures is correct i.e. exactly as I want. I generate a pdf (Adobe Reader X, Version 10.1.2) from Word 2007 document using the save as option. The List of Figures in the pdf document comes out exactly as present in the Word document, however when I click on that Figure number I see a different number than present in List of Figures. For example, I have this Figure number on List of Figures which is exactly as I want: But the corresponding Figure on Page 61 shows following number: It is becoming 4-21 from 4-7 because the total number of Figures from Chapters 1 till this Figure are 20. However, I want break in number of Figures between each Chapter i.e. Figures for Chapter 4 should start from 4-1, so the number 4-21 is actually 4-7 in that case. How can I correct this? Thanks.

• Word 2010 - Styled paragraph separating into separate numbered lines

  USING WORD 2010 I have a style "Heading 4 Par" which is a style based on Heading 4. It is a numbered style. My problem is when I apply the "Heading 4 Par" to say a 3 lined paragraph it separates each of the lines in the paragraph and numbers it. I always show the formatting characters and as far as I can see there is only ONE paragraph mark situated at the end of what is supposed to be a paragraph. eg. Original: 7.4 Text.... text con't..... Text... After Applying Format: 7.4 Text... 7.4 text con't... 7.4 text con't. After I've applied the format it behaves as though each line should be the start of a new paragraph but there is no paragraph mark to show this. This is driving me crazy! Help!

• Hyperlinks on images in PDF from Word 2010

  I've got a Word 2010 document that I'm trying to convert to a PDF with "Save As...", preserving hyperlinks. Something odd is going on: Hyperlinks on inline text, or images that are inline, work fine. Hyperlinks on images with layout "in front of" text don't work in the PDF, same for hyperlinked drawing shapes. What I'm trying to do is make a "clickmap" image by putting an image on the page and overlaying parts of it with transparent shapes that hyperlink to different URLs. This isn't working, and the transparency has nothing to do with it - hyperlinks in the PDF seem only to work on "in line with text" elements. Am I missing something, or is there a better way to do this?

  I have a word document in 2010. The document is a series of questions to be asked to the customer. All the technicians open the document while talking to the customer. Technicians should be able to write in the document but if they try to save it, it should prevent them from doing so. How is this possible. In word 2007, I kept a password for the document. so it gives an options to do ready only if you don't know the password.

Create an authenticated web application with hostheader cms.html5demo.local on port 80 for the cms side of the site. Click the Create Site Collection link on the Application Created dialog box and create a Site Collection based on the Publishing Portal site template. • How to Omit the Page Number From the First Page of a Word 2013 Document Without Using Sections

  Normally, the first page, or cover page, of a document does not have a page number or other header or footer text. You can avoid putting a page number on the first page using sections, but there is an easier way to do this. If you don’t plan to use sections in any other part of your document, you may want to avoid using them completely. We will show you how to easily take the page number off the cover page and start the page numbering at one on the second page of your document by simply using a footer (or a header) and changing one setting. Click the Page Layout tab. In the Page Setup section of the Page Layout tab, click the Page Setup dialog box launcher icon in the lower, right corner of the section. On the Page Setup dialog box, click the Layout tab and select the Different first page check box in the Headers and footers section so there is a check mark in the box. Click OK. You’ll notice there is no page number on the first page of your document now. However, you might want the second page to be page one of your document, only to find it is currently page two. To change the page number on the second page to one, click the Insert tab. In the Header & Footer section of the Insert tab, click Page Number and select Format Page Numbers from the drop-down menu. On the Page Number Format dialog box, select Start at in the Page numbering section. Enter 0 in the edit box and click OK. This allows the second page of your document to be labeled as page one. You can use the drop-down menu on the Format Page Numbers button in the Header & Footer section of the Insert tab to add page numbers to your document as well. Easily insert formatted page numbers at the top or bottom of the page or in the page margins. Use the same menu to remove page numbers from your document.

  Hi all, I am in need of some help with an error message I get with Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I would like to create a gallery for my site so I downloaded the NotesForGallery from codeplex. I have added the reference into the project like it told me to in the installation instructions. The instructions then say Register the ThumbnailHandler in the Web.Config file (httpHandlers section): <httpHandlers> … <add verb="*" path="ThumbnailHandler.ashx" type="NotesFor.ThumbnailHandler, NotesForGallery"/> … </httpHandlers> So I open the web.config file in my solution and I add it in.   I’ve just been alerted by my colleague Kyle Harvie to a Visual Studio 2010 add-in that should prove very useful if you are an SSDT user. Its simply called Highlight all occurrences of selected word and does exactly what it says on the tin, you highlight a word and it shows all other occurrences of that word in your script: There’s a limitation for .sql files (which I have reported) where the highlighting doesn’t work if the word is wrapped in square brackets but what the heck, its free, it takes about ten seconds to install….install it already! @Jamiet

• Project Professional 2010 can't publish existing project file

  I have an existing project file (created in project 2007 professional), opened by me in project professional 2010, and saved. I open this newly saved file, and connect to Project Server (2010) using my credentials (I'm admin), now when I try and publish this existing project, I can't because the button is grayed out. If I start from a blank file, I can publish without any issues (so its not permissions). I suspect something is wrong with the template for this project, but I have no idea what, any idea what to check for?

  I've found that after expiration of Office 2010 beta when I want to install trial, installation always ends up with an error 25400, even if everything is uninstalled. I've read that it's because Office refuses to install a trial after using a key that expires (like beta one). If so, is there a solution to reset that? I really need that trial. Please note that I don't want do anything illegal - I just want to use my obtained trial after betatesting Office 2010 before.

• Is there a cheaper non-express non-student, non-msdn version of Visual Studio 2010 that supports plugins in the US than the $710 Professional Edition?

  I've never actually purchased a copy of Visual Studio myself. SharpDevelop and Express edition have always been good enough for my personal use, and my employers always furnished me with the IDEs I needed to serve them. However, I'm thinking of actually paying for a copy for my personal laptop. I need this mainly so I can open solutions that contain web projects. So my question is: Is there an edition cheaper than the $710 Pro edition on Amazon that will do what I need: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-C5E-00521-Visual-Studio-Professional/dp/B0038KTO8S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1287456230&sr=8-2 ? What I need is defined as: Open up a solution with C#, Web App, VB.NET, and Web Projects. Install addins like resharper, testdriven.net, etc, SCM plugins, etc. Some level of db project support. At least to be able to open a dbproj. I only need that for SCM hooks. SSMS and SQLCMD are good enough for actually editing databases. Ability to install F#, IronPython, IronRuby etc. Now naturally I'm a fairly intelligent resourceful person so I realize I can get Visual Studio in a questionable manner. Thats not what I'm looking to do. I want a legal copy, I don't want a student copy, or an MSDN copy. I want a real copy, I just want to make sure I get the cheapest edition that serves my needs.

Everything is lowercase, so I don't think that it's that issue. If I switch to MySQL, the same code same project (I only change driver,URL, authentication), it works. In Eclipse Datasource Explorer, I can ping the DB and it succeeds. Weird thing is that I can't see the tables from there either. It expands the public schema but it doesn't expand the tables. Could it be some permission issue? Thanks!

When the interent and html was new, one could find examples of how to build a website on a few trusted web sites. The same web sites might not be the best choice for looking for examples for Silverlight, I guess. What are the best web sites where you can look at examples -- and most importantly -- look at the source code of some examples of Silverlight? Back when MFC existed as a option that programmers might use to develop windows applications, a coder could look at a huge list of sample code and step through that code to find something that somewhat did what he was looking for and use that example code to build his own app. Is there anything like that for Silverlight?   I have a MS Word 2007 document setup as a Mail Merge doc. I am using Excel as the data source. The MERGEFIELD ClientData contains an Excel file (test.xlsx). I want to merge the data from the Excel file listed in ClientData into the respective Mail Merge document. However, whenever I start the Mail Merge the {MERGEFIELD ClientData} field gets resolved only once and does not select the next row from ClientData. So this: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\{MERGEFIELD ClientData}" \a \f 4 \h} Becomes this after starting the merge: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} So every Mail Merge doc uses the test.xlsx instead of the respective Excel document specific to the client (i.e test1.xlsx, test2.xlsx, test3.xlsx, etc.) As the merge runs through each Mail Merge doc I expect to see this: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test1.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test2.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 "C:\\path\\to\\file\\test3.xlsx" \a \f 4 \h} But for some reason this isn't happening.
