Is it enough to: Let the BackgroundWorker1_DoWork method complete (I have a while loop in it now, doing some tasks) Set the variable that holds the reference to the BackgroundWorker, to null Is there some kind of Dispose() method I need to call (In the same way the Timer class has Timer.Dispose();)?

    I have table "PICKITEM" PARTID QTY A 1 A 3 B 11 C 8 D 5 D 3 I need a select statement that will return one line for like PARTIDs and add the qty field to together, yet also return the rest of the lines in the table as is PARTID QTY A 4 B 11 C 8 D 8 Probably a newb question, but I am new to SQL syntax and queries. Look on my code that i created in a partial View: <% foreach (Customer customerInfo in Model.DataRows) {%> <tr> <td> <%=Html.ActionLink( customerInfo.FullName , ((string)ViewData["ActionNameForSelectedCustomer"]) , JoinParameters(customerInfo.id, (RouteValueDictionary) ViewData["AdditionalSelectionParameters"]) , null)%> </td> <td> <%=customerInfo.LegalGuardianName %> </td> <td> <%=customerInfo.HomePhone %> </td> <td> <%=customerInfo.CellPhone %> </td> </tr> <%}%> Here I'm building simple table that showing customer's details. As you may see, in each row, I'm trying to build a link that will redirect to another action. That action requires customerId and some additional parameters. Additional parameters are different for each page where this partial View is using. So, i decided to make Action methods to pass that additional parameters in the ViewData as RouteValueDictionary instance. Now, on the view i have a problem, i need to pass customerId and that RouteValueDictionary together into Html.ActionLink method. That makes me to figure out some way of how to combine all that params into one object (either object or new RouteValueDictionary instance) Because of the way the MVC does, i can't create create a method in the codebehind class (there is no codebihind in MVC) that will join that parameters. So, i used ugly way - inserted inline code: ...script runat="server"... private RouteValueDictionary JoinParameters(int customerId, RouteValueDictionary defaultValues) { RouteValueDictionary routeValueDictionary = new RouteValueDictionary(defaultValues); routeValueDictionary.Add("customerId", customerId); return routeValueDictionary; } ...script... This way is very ugly for me, because i hate to use inline code in the View part. My question is - is there any better way of how i can mix parameters passed from the action (in ViewData, TempData, other...) and the parameter from the view when building action links.   • iPhone Curl Left and Curl Right transitions

    I am looking for a way to do a UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlUp or UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlDown transition on the iPhone but instead of top to bottom, do it from the left to right (or top/bottom in landscape mode). I've seen this asked aroud the internet a few times but none sems to get an answer. However I feel this is doable. I have tried changing the View's transform and the view.layer's transform but that didn't affect the transition. Since the transition changes when the device changes orientation I presume there is a way to fool the device to use the landscape transition in portrait mode and vice versa?

    I have a ListView. When I select an item in the ListView, I would like to have a Subview slide in from the right, the way that it does in many Apps. I have been searching for tutorials on this topic but am spinning my wheels. Maybe Android uses a term different than "Subview" ?   • Entity Framework - Why does EF use LEFT OUTER JOIN's in a 1-to-1 relationship?

    Why does .NET Entity Framework produce SQL that uses a subquery and left outer join on a simple 1-to-1 relationship? I expected to see a simple join on the two tables.   • Is FastCGI still a right answer?

    FastCGI is old but it still seems like it must be the right answer in some cases. It seems like the preferred deployment of Perl/Catalyst web applications is with FastCGI. FastCGI was popular with Rails but seems to no longer be. (Why?) The Java world doesn't seem to have anything to do with FastCGI. Is something like Tomcat way better than Apache+FastCGI? Is choosing FastCGI still a good idea or just a lingering technology? Ted

    In many places in our code we have collections of objects, from which we need to create a comma-separated list. The type of collection varies: it may be a DataTable from which we need a certain column, or a List<Customer>, etc. Now we loop through the collection and use string concatenation, for example: string text = ""; string separator = ""; foreach (DataRow row in table.Rows) { text += separator + row["title"]; separator = ", "; } Is there a better pattern for this? Ideally I would like an approach we could reuse by just sending in a function to get the right field/property/column from each object.

  • Push a ViewController and It Pops Right Back

    I have a view controller with a table view and a UISearchBar. When the view controller is first brought up, the table is populated. A click on a table row pushes another view controller, it animates up and then pops right back down and returns me to the table. It does this whether the search bar has been used or not. I do this push pop kind of action in several view controllers with not problem. My guess is that the UISearchBar is somehow getting in the way. Any one have any idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

Right now, it says cannot find action. What do I need to do to fix this?

The goal is to make it "self-respawning". I have some variants about how to do it. Bot is one process. Another process monitors its activity and starts it if bot died. Main process spawns bot subprocess and controls it. Also I think daemonizing bot process is useful here. Platform is Linux, as you could guess. What is the right way to solve this problem?

  • .net difference between right shift and left shift keys

    I am currently working on an application which requires different behaviour based on whether the user presses the right or left shift key (RShiftKey, LShiftKey), however when either of these keys is pressed I only see ShiftKey | Shift. Is there something wrong with my keyboard? (laptop) do I need a new keyboard driver/keyboard in order to send the different key commands maybe... This is a pretty massive problem at the moment, as there is no way of testing that the code works (apart from unit tests). Anyone had any experience of the different shift/alt/ctrl keys?
