  • External USB disk drive cannot be remounted in Windows XP

    I have Maxtor Basics Desktop 1TB external USB drive connected to Windows XP. The dirve's firmware puts it to sleep after 10-20 min of inactivity and then the drive cannot be mounted unless I reset it via power connector. While in sleep mode I can see the device in the Device Manager under both Disk drives and USB sections. Is there a way to get the drive out of sleep mode without hard reset? Thanks

  • Postfix / Dovecot and Email Retrieval

    I have setup Postfix and Dovecot on an Ubuntu box following the instructions http://www.exratione.com/2012/05/a-mailserver-on-ubuntu-1204-postfix-dovecot-mysql/ I can see that email is being delivered to and accepted by the server, but the email is not available for retrieval via POP3. What could be missing in my configuraton? It seems that email is not being properly handed off to Dovecot.     We have a server with Apache 2.4, Tomcat 7 and phpmyadmin, all of them installed by source, no repository. I connected Apache with Tomcat through the jk connector by doing: JkMount /* worker1 and I moved /phpmyadmin in the Apache DocumentRoot, but of course website/phpmyadmin will redirect me to Tomcat, but I dont want that. It works only if I comment out the JKMount line So, how can I configure Apache with Tomcat and phpmyadmin so that /* requests are forwarded to Tomcat and /phpmyadmin directly served by Apache?

    I am trying to connect to a Barracuda VPN with a windows 7 machine. I am gettng this message before it fails: There are no TAP-Win32 adapters on this system. You should be able to create a TAP-Win32 adapter by going to Start - All Programs - Network Connector - Add a new TAP-Win32 virtual ethernet adapter. I am unable to follow these instructions on Windows 7, any ideas on how to create this adapter?

    i have setup an exchange 2010 account on microsoft outlook 2010 and i can read my emails, but i am not able to send emails, when i create a new email and click send, the messages are not sent, they don't even get to the outbox folder. my guess is that the issue is not from exchange itself, becuase i can send emails with this exchange account with java code using smtp port 25 please advise how to fix this issue.

Although I was able to PPTP VPN in on 321.321.39.10 (interface) which is the outside interface IP address. and it is static mapped to 172.21.37.20. So I'm thinking there must be something wrong with NAT somewhere? no response from 321.321.39.11 to 321.321.39.14.. Could anyone look over the config and please let me know what I've done wrong? Is there something I've missed? well obviously but.. please help! Thank you.

  • Dell Inspiron 1525 - internal hard drive not detected

    Others have asked about this issue but had intermittent access to their HD, therefore their results did not apply to this situation. I have tried reseating the HD to no effect. I also tried booting from the Internal HD to no effect. Next step get a connector cable and move the data to a different HD, or send in for HD recovery? Any suggestions?

    I've found all my Outlook data files which contain all my emails at the following paths: C:\Users\C\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook C:\Users\C\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook and C:\Users\C\My Documents\Outlook Files\ I've migrated all these and copied it to my new machine at the same directories however my configuration is not there! None of my email pop/smtp settings are there, only the pst is loaded with my emails but all other configuration is gone, where precisely is that configuration stored?
