  • browser ctrl-f find and non-visible text

    Can the browser feature of contrl+F to find text be integrated with text in popup windows. I'd like to have some scientific reference information given when someone hovers over a species name in a web page. Generating the popup, tooltip style text is no problem, the problem is that anyone using Ctrl+F won't be able to find it, or if I position the text out of view when not required, it will be found but be invisible. The same sort of effect applies to "accordion" style expanding text areas. I'm looking for some sort of event generated when find is highlighting a result.

  • How do I place a DIV tag image on the very top of the page in HTML5?

    Hello there. I'm trying to put an x-repeat "grid" of images by using background-image in CSS, then using the id in a DIV tag. My intention is to put a sort of "panel", then always extends to the very top of the page, and loops with repeat-x. It works just fine without a DOCTYPE, but when I put the clean in the code, it pushes the image in the tag downwards, as if there's a margin on the top of the page of about 15 px or so. I tried top-margin, z-index, with no success. Excuse me if I'm asking a silly question, but I'm sort of new. Thanks, -Jacob

  • JTable filled with database data is not being updated when columns are reordered.

    I have a JTable filled with data of a table of my database (so I used ResultSetTableModel) and using TableRowSorter to sort the rows, as I click in one column of the JTable. The data is displayed in the jTable without problems; But when I sort the JTable by some column table (for example, sorting it by the primary key value), and edit some cell from the sorted jTable, the value changed is the old cell that were in that position before the ordenation of the column. For example: Suppose I have a table with 2 columns - name and age. My table has the following data: c 1 b 2 a 3 when I order i by name in the JTable, it becomes like this a 3 b 2 c 1 if I edit the value "1", after the edition, the table becomes like this a 1 b 2 c 1 It seems that the positions are not being updated in the JTable, and the values are edited considering their original positions.

    I am about to develop a sort of web application using only static files (eg. html, js & css). Is there a way to start this sort of project in Visual Web Developer Express? I want to have all the niceties with intellisense, sulution explorer and whatnot but I don't want all of the ASP.net structure in the sulution. Is thiss possible or is there perhaps another IDE for this kind of project? Thanks!

  • Selecting a UserControl from XAML

    I'm working on a problem right now where I need to embed a UserControl inside another UserControl. But, I need to determine at runtime which embedded UserControl to instantiate. This implies to me that some form of data binding and/or template selection mechanism has to be invoked, but I'm not sure how to proceed with the pure XAML approach. If I was to do this with code, I would define some sort of container control in the parent UserControl, and then in the code-behind, implement some logic which would instantiate the appropriate child UserControl and then insert it as Content into the specified container in the parent UserControl. Can this be done using only XAML, or is some sort of code-behind required?

  • WCF: limit number of calls per hour - per user

    Hi guys, I've got a WCF service (basicHttpBinding, basic authentication, IIS 6.0) on which I want to restrict the number of calls per hour - on user basis. For example, max 1000 calls per user, per hour (a la Google Maps, etc). I also want to implement some sort of subscription mechanism, so that users can upgrade their call-limit across various 'price plans'. I know that I could achieve this with a custom Inspector, backed by a DB containing some sort of 'subscription' table and a counter, but I'd like to avoid reinventing the wheel. Does anyone have experience doing this? Are there 3rd party projects/libraries that support this out of the box? Thanks. Eric

  • Thinking Sphinx - sorting by a string attribute gets out of sync when changes are made

    I have a "restaurants" table with a "name" column. I've defined the following index: indexes "REPLACE(UPPER(restaurants.name), 'THE ', '')", :as => :restaurant_name, :sortable => true ... because I want to sort the restaurant names without respect to the prefix "The ". My problem is that whenever one of these records is updated (in any way) the new record jumps to the top of the sort order. If another record is updated, it also jumps ahead of the rest. I end up with two lists: a list of restaurants that have been updated since the last re-indexing and a list of those that haven't. Each respective list is in alphabetical order, but I don't understand why the overall list is getting segregated this way. I do have a delayed delta index set up, and I assume the issue is related to this.

    Hello, I have a Paradox 5.0 database and want to migrate it to Access 2007. But if I try to import a Paradox table, Access gives an error message: "Incorrect collating sequence". The Help says: "You tried to link a Paradox table that was created with an international sort order that is not the same as the one you are using". What am I doing wrong? How can a change that sort order? Anybody? Thanks in advance.

What sort of interface would it be?Is it all about using a MOM(message-oriented middleware) like JMS and deploying it withing an application server on a website using publish/subscribe model?Is it the correct way how to meet these sort of requirements?And if it's not a web-based interface,would kind of interface would it be then for the users?     Run a recursive listing of all the files in /var/log and redirect standard output to a file called lsout.txt in your home directory. Complete this question WITHOUT leaving your home directory. An: ls -R /var/log/ /home/bqiu/lsout.txt I reckon the above bash command is not correct. This is what I've got so far: $ ls -1R .: cal.sh cokemachine.sh dir sort test.sh ./dir: afile.txt file subdir ./dir/subdir: $ ls -R | sed s/^.*://g cal.sh cokemachine.sh dir sort test.sh afile.txt file subdir But this still leaves all directory/sub-directory names (dir and subdir), plus a couple of empty newlines How could I get the correct result without using Perl or awk? Preferably using only basic bash commands(this is just because Perl and awk is out of assessment scope)

    Given a word W, I want to find all words containing the letters in W from /usr/dict/words. For example, "bat" should return "bat" and "tab" (but not "table").   • Bind selected value on combobox to view model

    Hi, I have my silverlight app which pulls data into a datagrid from a view model. The vm is exposed via Mef. I also have a details grid which has comboboxes. The vm also contains the data to populate the combobox values. Upon first load, everything works fine and the selected items on te comboboxes are correct and I can select alternative values. However, if I sort my main data grid (allow sort=true) then I find the binding for selected value on the comboboxes dissapear. The combobox is still populated with data but nothing is selected. Has anyone come across this issue before? I am unsure how to solve this one. Thanks

  • Classifying captured data in unknown format?

    I've got a large set of captured data (potentially hundreds of thousands of records), and I need to be able to break it down so I can both classify it and also produce "typical" data myself. Let me explain further... If I have the following strings of data: 132T339G1P112S 164T897F5A498S 144T989B9B223T 155T928X9Z554T ... you might start to infer the following: possibly all strings are 14 characters long the 4th, 8th, 10th and 14th characters may always be alphas, while the rest are numeric the first character may always be a '1' the 4th character may always be the letter 'T' the 14th character may be limited to only being 'S' or 'T' and so on... As you get more and more samples of real data, some of these "rules" might disappear; if you see a 15 character long string, then you have evidence that the 1st "rule" is incorrect. However, given a sufficiently large sample of strings that are exactly 14 characters long, you can start to assume that "all strings are 14 characters long" and assign a numeric figure to your degree of confidence (with an appropriate set of assumptions around the fact that you're seeing a suitably random set of all possible captured data). As you can probably tell, a human can do a lot of this classification by eye, but I'm not aware of libraries or algorithms that would allow a computer to do it. Given a set of captured data (significantly more complex than the above...), are there libraries that I can apply in my code to do this sort of classification for me, that will identify "rules" with a given degree of confidence? As a next step, I need to be able to take those rules, and use them to create my own data that conforms to these rules. I assume this is a significantly easier step than the classification, but I've never had to perform a task like this before so I'm really not sure how complex it is. At a guess, Python or Java (or possibly Perl or R) are possibly the "common" languages most likely to have these sorts of libraries, and maybe some of the bioinformatic libraries do this sort of thing. I really don't care which language I have to use; I need to solve the problem in whatever way I can. Any sort of pointer to information would be very useful. As you can probably tell, I'm struggling to describe this problem clearly, and there may be a set of appropriate keywords I can plug into Google that will point me towards the solution.   • ASP.NET GridView sorting on method data

    Hi, I'm binding a GridView to a domain model object, this domain model object has a method for working out a formatted value to display on the grid. I'd like to use this method for my display value, which is fine, but I'd also like to be able to sort on the value returned by that method. My sort expression can only take in a property/field at the moment. Help please! What do I need to do to get this to work? I'm using an SPGridView actually, but that doesn't make a lot of difference to my problem. Thanks.

    Hey guys I have a query that selects data and organizes but not in the correct order. What I want to do is select all the comments for a user in that week and sort it by each topic, then sort the cluster by the latest timestamp of each comment in their respective cluster. My current query selects the right data, but in seemingly random order.   • Modifying a model and texture mid-game code

    Just have a question for anyone out there who knows some sort of game engine pretty well. What I am trying to implement is some sort of script or code that will allow me to make a custom game character and textures mid-game. A few examples would be along the lines of changing facial expressions and body part positions in the game SecondLife. I don't really need a particular language, feel free to use your favorite, I'm just really looking for an example on how to go about this. Also I was wondering if there is anyway to combine textures for optimization; for example if i wanted to add a tattoo to a character midgame, is there any code that could combine his body texture and the tattoo texture into one texture to use (this way I can simply just render one texture per body.) Any tips would be appreciated, sorry if the question is a wee bit to vauge.
