• Download databasename.bak file

  I have downloaded databasename.bak file from my hosting company, when i tried to restore that DB file in SQL server 2008 it is keep on giving me following error. The media family on device 'C:\go4sharepoint_1384_8481.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3241) According to this error and from following link http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting047.htm It is clear that either file i am downloading is corrupt or it is getting corrupted on the way? Any idea, why I am keep on receiving this error? I tried almost all ways but unable to fix this problem, please help me.

• Releasing WinForm Program Updates

  Hello, Another quick question. I'd like to release some updates for a WinForm program, but to date I have simply released an all-new compile. People have to un-install the old version and install the new version. I bet there's a way to get around this, but I don't know what it's called. As you may guess, searches for "updates" "new version" "install" and the other obvious things I've tried have generated an impressive number of irrelevant results. _< I suspect this process has a particular name, which should point me in the right direction, but if it doesn't please link to a tutorial or something.   I'm looking to use either Firebird or Postgres in my next development project ... largely because both are available under a BSD-like license. I found a great comparison of the two database at http://www.amsoftwaredesign.com/pg_vs_fb But this comparison is a good 2+ years old and both databases have come a long ways since. Does anyone mind updating the comparison table to be relevant for the current versions of both Firebird and Postgres ... or have a link to a site that does a good recent comparison between the two database?

• how do i set up a load balanced Rails web server using mongrel, lighttpd and iis on windows 2003

  I understand that this is not the perfect environment for doing this but please stick with me and help if you can... The set up I want to achieve is to have my rails application running on a windows 2003 server, using a pack of mongrels with lighttpd acting as the load balancer and IIS in front of it all passing client requests to lighttpd. first of all i've followed these instructions: deploying to iis on windows And I've managed to get the application to run, BUT if the client clicks on a link button the app bombs out with a 500 server error. If I just run against one of the mongrel servers, the the app behaves ok, so I think its lightpd. Its almost as if the lighttpd gets confused with multiple GET requests (i.e. multiple clicks) and bombs out. Any help on why i'm getting 500 errors would be helpful, thanks.

  I have a new site that I am putting together and part of it has statistics for the site's users. I would like to create a widget that others can use on another website by invoking javascript that reads data from my server and shows that statistics for a given user, but I am having a hard time finding specific tutorials that covers this in django. I have seen the link at Alex Maradon's site [0], but it looks to me like that is passing html back to the widget and I am having a hard time figuring out how to do this using something like xml.   i want to add a simple image into an email which i want to send from a lotus agent. I paste below a part of the code: StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); sb.append("<div><img src=\"http://goo.gl/lziMZN\"></div>"); email.setHTMLPart(sb.toString()); email.send("[email protected]"); I also tried to use an image from my image resources in the nsf. Whatever i tried i get an empty image area (browser-no-image icon) in the email i receive. I also have checked "Allow restricted operations" in my agent. I would prefer it if there is a solution to use an image from my resources and not an external link. Any solutions?

  Hi, I'm developing a web site with asp.net on localhost, I'm beginner. I wrote a login page and it works well. However when I click a link, the server can't load the page and gives this error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) Any idea?

The problem is that I cannot use a command like document.write ('body {background-color: #cccccc;}'); because I need to make the changes effective when the page is already loaded, using a link like <a onmouseclick="Clicker(1)" href="#">clic</a> and I cannot use a command like document.body.style.background='#cccccc'; because I do not know if it can be applied to other not so easy cases, because I need to change the appearance of elements such as td.myclass or sibling elements such as th[scope=col]+th[scope=col]+th[scope=col].   When a button/link is clicked, I want this URL to be called followed by the execution of the following statements. The ASP.Net page is in C# btw. Function A statement A call abc.apsx statement B abc.aspx is a silent page, doesn't display anything on the page but creates an output.txt file. So when abc.aspx is called, output.txt file is created and Statement B is executed seamlessly. Hope I made sense. I have no .Net programming knowledge. Please help me. Thank you..

  Hi! Can someone explain to me(not a rocket scientist) all the steps for installing XAMPP for a EC2 instance running Linux? And yes I have look the entire web and found nothing, except this "Deploying a lamp stack" and this "Starting Amazon EC2 with Mac OS X". I found the latter one more useful, but as a said I'm not a rocket scientist. I got stuck in to the latter link where I should edit the file .bash_profile with a text editor. I tried the "vi" in SSH, but why can't I open it on textEditor included in all Macs? Is there any easier way to setting up a XAMPP server for a linux server in EC2?

• Redirect failing - "...will never complete"

  I am trying to redirect a blog page to a newly updated page. The old entry is gone, but it is indexed in Google, and other people have links to it. I get this error: "The page isn't redirecting properly" "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." The (deleted) link looks like this: "http://mysite.com/blog/?p=158" I want to redirect that to "http://mysite.com/blog/?p=194" I used CPANEL to do a permanent (301) redirect. (I have other redirects working.) I gues the ? is causing a problem. How do I fix it so the page redirects? (Please give instructions for CPANEL - the server has Frontpage extensions, and I don't bother with re-researching how to do it manually - the multiple files that need updated.)

• How do I reset a countdown timer when it reaches 0? (Xcode 4)

  first question and I have researched the heck out of this and can't seem to find any answers. I would like to implement a countdown timer in my app that starts at 30 seconds and resets when it hits 0. It will count back by 1 second intervals. I have played around with the resources that Apple provides and I can't seem to implement the NStimer to do as I just explained. Are there any suggestions on how I could code this? I would eventually like to link this to a button that will start the timer when it is pressed. I appreciate any advice on this topic!

• How to handle customers with multiple addresses in CakePHP

  I'm putting together a system to track customer orders. Each order will have three addresses; a Main contact address, a billing address and a shipping address. I do not want to have columns in my orders table for the three addresses, I'd like to reference them from a separate table and have some way to enumerate the entry so I can determine if the addressing is main, shipping or billing. Does it make sense to create a column in the address table for AddressType and enumerate that or create another table - AddressTypes - that defines the address enumeration and link to that table? I have found other questions that touch on this topic and that is where I've taken my model. The problem I'm having is taking that into the cakePHP convention. I've been struggling to internalize the direction OneToMany relationships are formed - the way the documentation states feels backwards to me. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

• Markdown to text/plain and text/html for multipart email

  I’m looking for a solution to send DRY multipart emails in Rails. With DRY I mean that the content for the mail is only defined once. I’ve thought about some possible solutions but haven’t found any existing implementations. The solutions I’ve thought about are: load the text from I18n and apply Markdown for the html mail and apply Markdown with a special output type for the text mail where links are put in parenthesis after the link text bold, italic and other formatting that doesn't make sense are removed ordered and unordered lists are maintained generate only the html mail and convert that to text according to the above conditions Is there any available solution out there? Which one is probably the better way to do it?

I enabled subscribing and I also created myself a page, linked to the same profile: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Axonn-Says/372194956141393 But not even the page works ::- /. LATER EDIT: I temporarily added 2 other Subscribe buttons on my website to demonstrate that it works for example for Mark Zuck's page and to demonstrate that there are no JS conflicts. The 2 buttons appeared ok, but my button still didn't show up.
