  • Combining MEF and IoC container

    I primarily use NInject as my IoC container, and is very happy with it - don't want to change that. But some things I want to import using MEF. The thing is, I want the imports to created by the IoC container as the imports can have dependencies to things that I've registered in the NInject IoC. So, my question is: can I import the type of exports in some way, so I can hand it over to NInject for creation or is there an object factory of some kind that I can override in MEF?

    I'm trying to understand the difference between sequences and lists. In F# there is a clear distinction between the two. However in C# I have seen programmers refer to IEnumerable collections as a sequence. Is what makes IEnumerable a sequence the fact that it returns an object to iterate through the collection? Perhaps the real distinction is purely found in functional languages?

    If I use [UIImage imageWithCGImage:], passing in a CGImageRef, do I then release the CGImageRef or does UIImage take care of this itself when it is deallocated? The documentation isn't entirely clear. It says "This method does not cache the image object." Originally I called CGImageRelease on the CGImageRef after passing it to imageWithCGImage:, but that caused a malloc_error_break warning in the Simulator claiming a double-free was occurring.

    So a lot of web apps have the customer choose their own subdomain, ie mycompany.webapp.com Presumably, every subdomain works off the same set of files and the unique subdomain is perhaps stored as a session object. So how does the URL rewriting work? If someone goes to mycompany.webapp.com, you have to rewrite their unique address to a dynamic page to set the session variable, ie webapp.com/mypage.php?cusomer=mycompany But then when you redirected, you'd be at webapp.com/theappdirectory/ and not mycompany.webapp.com/ So how do they do it?

  • .NET WinForms INotifyPropertyChanged updates all bindings when one is changed. Better way?

    In a windows forms application, a property change that triggers INotifyPropertyChanged, will result in the form reading EVERY property from my bound object, not just the property changed. (See example code below) This seems absurdly wasteful since the interface requires the name of the changing property. It is causing a lot of clocking in my app because some of the property getters require calculations to be performed. I'll likely need to implement some sort of logic in my getters to discard the unnecessary reads if there is no better way to do this. Am I missing something? Is there a better way? Don't say to use a different presentation technology please -- I am doing this on Windows Mobile (although the behavior happens on the full framework as well). Here's some toy code to demonstrate the problem.   • Save simple data in Magento's DB w/o Model

    I'm looking to save some data in the Magento database without hassling with creating a new EAV object (or even a DB table if I can avoid it). Is there any place that you all know about that Magento will let you store serialized data? If it matters, the data is a serialized set of SKUs that I need to retrieve. I know that I could create a new model, or possibly even create an attribute as a flag on each product, but those are both really overkill for my purposes. Thanks, Joe

I have two separate db.SubmitChanges() because when the button is pressed, I have it delete the records from 1 table, and then the next. I'm lost, can someone help me out?

    The same way I now have plt.connect('button_press_event', self.on_click) I would like to have something like plt.connect('each_five_seconds_event', self.on_timer) How can I achieve this in a way that's most similar to what I've shown above?   • jqGrid error when setting width using new API

    I'm using the new API to set the width of my jqGrid like this: $('#grid').jqGrid('setGridWidth', $(window).width() * 0.98); The problem is that in IE7 I'm getting this error: 'p.cellLayout' is null or not an object This only happens in IE7 (IE8, Firefox and Chrome work fine). Has anybody else encounter this problem and fixed it?

    I am looking into the possibility/feasibility/resources for building a cross compiler which takes a procedural or Object Oriented language like C, or Java and compiling it into SQL. I understand that the advantage of SQL code is performing set operations which is fundamentally different from procedural languages which generally process 1 at a time.
