  I need to do some image processing on a java server (Debian with java version "1.6.0_12"), and I am receiving java.awt.HeadlessException from my code: java.awt.HeadlessException at sun.java2d.HeadlessGraphicsEnvironment.getDefaultScreenDevice(HeadlessGraphicsEnvironment.java:64) at WaxOn.getDefaultConfiguration(WaxOn.java:341) Even when java.awt.headless is set to true (as evident by this code printing so): if (!java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.isHeadless()) { logger.warn("Headless mode is not enabled"); } else { logger.info("Headless mode"); } This is the code that throws the exception: public static GraphicsConfiguration getDefaultConfiguration() { GraphicsEnvironment ge = GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment(); GraphicsDevice gd = ge.getDefaultScreenDevice(); return gd.getDefaultConfiguration(); } Any idea how to solve this?

• PHP code not working on IE

  I have a website with a flag. If it is clicked, the language of the website changes. • Add C pointer to NSMutableArray

  I am writing an Objective-C program that deals with low level image memory. I am using ANSI-C structs for my data storage -- Full blown objects seem overkill seeing as the data I am storing is 100% data, with no methods to operate on that data. Specifically, I am writing a customizable posterization algorithm which relies on an array of colors -- This is where things get tricky. I am storing my colors as structs of three floats, and an integer flag (related to the posterization algorithm specifically). Everyhting is going well, except for one thing... [actual question] I can't figure out how to add pointers to an NSMutableArray! I know how to add an object, but adding a pointer to a struct seems to be more difficult -- I do not want NSMutableArray dereferencing my pointer and treating the struct as some sort of strange object. I want NSMutableArray to add the pointer its self to its collection. How do I go about doing this? Thanks in advance, G

  I am trying to view camera feed from a Logitech9000 camera using DSVL(DirectShow Video Library) http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsvideolib/. I tried changing the flip_v value to true in the config above but it did not make any difference. Any suggestions?

• How to convert a C++ program that uses CUDA into MEX

  For work, I am converting the Image Denoising program that comes with the CUDA SDK into a MATLAB program. As far as I know, I have made all the necessary changes required by MATLAB, but when I try to call mex on it, MATLAB returns a bunch of linkage errors that I have no idea how to fix. If anyone has any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, I would greatly appreciate it. The command I am giving MATLAB is: mex imageDenoisingGL.cpp -I..\..\common\inc -IC:\CUDA\include -L..\..\common\lib -lglut32 And the output from MATLAB is a bunch of these: imageDenoisingGL.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol __imp__cutCheckCmdLineFlag@12 referenced in function "void __cdecl __cutilExit(int,char * *)" (?__cutilExit@@YAXHPAPAD@Z) I am running: Windows XP x32 Visual Studio 2005 MATLAB 2007a

• Using a CMYK PSD without Photoshop

  I have run into a common, yet difficult problem. I do not use Photoshop for image manipulation. Since all my work is web-based, GIMP does what I need in 99% of the situations. The problem is that I occasionally receive PSD files with CMYK encoding rather than RGB encoding. These files will not open in GIMP, nor will they convert in ImageMagick. Has anyone found a good solution for converting CMYK files to RGB files (either PSD format or a flat format like PNG) that does not involve the use of Photoshop? Say a plug-in for GIMP or a standalone utility?

• GridView items are displaying the wrong drawables sometimes.

  I've implemented a GridView based on this tutorial. It works great unless open up the search dialog or rotate the screen then scroll around. When the search dialog and virtual keyboard appear, the drawables for each of my grid items shift. I can click on them and they do what I expect, except the drawable is wrong. The same problem happens when I go into landscape mode and scroll around. If I scroll down, up, the down again, the drawables are shuffled. For better illustration, let's say I have three objects, each with an image. Obj A shows an Apple Obj B shows a Banana Obj C shows a Cantaloupe When the shift occurs I end up with: Obj A shows an Cantaloupe Obj B shows a Banana Obj C shows a Apple The problem isn't consistent between the two causes (search dialog and screen rotate n' scroll), but each cause itself is consistent. Scrolling around repeatedly reveals a pattern as does the search dialog appearing. How can I stop this from happening?

  We have a site which is accessed entirely over HTTPS, but sometimes display external content which is HTTP (images from RSS feeds, mainly). The vast majority of our users are also stuck on IE6. I would both of the following Prevent the IE warning message about insecure content Present something useful to users in place of the images that they can't otherwise see; if there was some JS I could run to figure out which images haven't been loaded and replace them with an image of ours instead that would be great. I suspect that the first aim is simply not possible, but the second may be sufficient. A worst case scenario is that I parse the RSS feeds when we import them, grab the images store them locally so that the users can access them that way, but it seems like a lot of pain for reasonably little gain.

  I'm creating a simple site with a gallery. I have a photos model which has a page for each photo with it's info and an image. I'm unsure how to create a gallery from the photo's. The gallery model has_many photos, the photos model has_and_belongs_to_many galleries. I thought of adding a gallery.title field on each photo page so I'd have a list of photo's for each gallery then display them in a view. Is this a good way to make a gallery? (I've looked through the code on some gallery apps on github, but most are outdated are too complicated for my needs.)

• What can cause a double page request?

  I am currently investigating a double request problem on my site. Not all the time, but sometimes, a requested page will in fact load twice...which is not a problem really until it is on a page with PHP that inserts stuff into my db on request (my tracking script). I have read that an empty src in an image tag, and an empty url() in a css background could potentially cause the page to be requested twice. However, I can't find any problems with those. Is there anything else that could be causing something like this?

  hi guys ! Currently I am working on video conferencing project.For this i m using pwnat for nat traversing. pwnat is based on udp tunneling.I m using the TCP connection for data transmission. My problem is that when i send a packet , it does not reach properly at its destination side . Sometime it drops the packet and many times it breaks ( split ) the packet into pieces. Im using drupal 6.x and created an RSS feed of the recent images using the views module. I have no idea how to connect the two. Any suggestions? I have a feeling an RSS feed might not be the best way to go about this, but it's all I could come up with. Thanks for the help.

  Hi guys, Usually I work with TweenLite but I had to modify the code of someone else who worked with Caurina Tweener. I have a basic problem with it! On my scene, I have a simple movie clip filled with black. Into this movieclip a bitmap file (jpg). When I make a tween on the alpha of my mc, it seems that there is a delay (in the alpha) between this the black background and the image. Tweener.addTween(thisMc, { _autoAlpha:0, time:1 } ); I'm sure there is an easy way to avoid this problem but I can't find it out! Cheers, Jk_

• How to display the rss version of a News Link

  I'm trying to write a script that will show the rss version of a single url (title, author, image, source, etc..). This should behave much the way that facebook does when you copy paste a link to share and it generates this information automatically. I'm trying to do this with a php script but would also be open to opensource programs that can do this as well. also, if anyone knows of any Joomla/Drupal plugins that can do this that would be great. • UIScrollView Does not Scroll

  I have added a long info screen to my iPhone app. The info is a long UIImageView, and it is contained inside a UIScrollView. They are both defined in .xib file. At run-time, initially I set scrollview's position outside window, and when user clicks a button, set its position inside window. This part is OK. But scrollview displays the image but does not scroll. Isn't it enough to place in MainViewContoller.xib, set the contained content, and (at code) set its contentSize equal to the content's size? BTW: I try it at simulator currently.

  Hi, I'm working with an animator for the iPhone. The animator I'm working with isn't a programmer and has a background in Flash. (right now she's doing the animation in Flash and I need to convert to Objective C). For some it's ok because I can just use image frames, but there are more complex animation that would take longer for me to convert to Objective C.   Hi, I'm trying to understand why: NSLog(@"self = %p", self); in awakeFromNib prints a different value than the same NSLog in viewDidLoad? This isn't a huge problem because I don't need the awakeFromNib but I would like to understand how it works. • nivo slider and drop down menu doesnt work in IE

• Performance impact of rewrite conditions?

  My web framework (cakephp) uses the following rewrite conditions and rule: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [QSA,L] I serve up a lot of image files (~10 a second). I'm wondering if it would improve performance to have a rewrite rule that exempted requests for files in my images directory from even trying those rewrite conditions (checking whether the file exists). My traffic is constantly fluctuating, so this would be hard to benchmark, which is why I thought I'd ask here. If that would be beneficial, how might I exclude files in "/images" directory from trying those conditions and rewrite rule?

• JQuery Selector - Select this, not that?

  Hi, I have created a script which is surprisingly working. (I do not do much JavaScript) What I have is a load of images listed within a div. These images are hidden. JQuery gets the properties of the images and puts them into an array. When the body is clicked, the background image of the page changes. This works nicely. However, I now have a problem. There are several elements which I shouldn't change the background when they are clicked. Namely, navigation, footer and caption. How do I create a selector which makes the body clickable, yet ignores clicks on the above 3 div's?

  hi guys, I have a listview which displays (eventually) an album cover of an itunes play list with the album name under it. the problem I am having is that I cannot get the album art (currently a blank square) ABOVE the album name. It always is on the side... how do I do it?   Recently I use data binding to speed up my development of C# winforms application. But I found that data binding is just useful when the control is Textbox or textare and text kind of controls. If things come to be radio button, image control or datagridview, it's hard for me to use data binding. For example, it's hard for me to bind a group of radio button to a database field. It's hard for me to pre-process the data in database and then bind to datagridview control(I know I can use view to do this, but it is not that convenient) So I really want to know, most of you guys when will use data binding? And how will you use it ?

  I wish to use the CImg library for image processing in my current project. I am using Codegear C++ Builder 2009. I include CImg.h in the source file and put in the following code: int rows =5; int cols = 5; CImg<double> img(rows,cols); I get the following error: [BCC32 Error] CImg.h(39159): E2285 Could not find a match for 'CImg<unsigned char>::move_to<t>(const CImg<unsigned char>)' Does anyone know if there is a #define I should be using when building in Codegear C++ Builder 2009. Or is it simply not compatible?
