• ASP.NET website not working properly in mobile

  I have created a simple app with a page having a server side form, three fields and a button that submits and performs two operations - 1) adds the form fields to the database table 2) sends an email. Now everything works fine on the web browser on my machine but when I access the app through my mobile, the page does not seem to work. the UI and all are set but the button click functionality doesnt seem to be working and also the label which is set after a successful submit is already visible and showing the "thank you" message. Am i doing something wrong here? I have checked the app on Nokia Smartphone browser, android phone, and iphone simulator.

• Rich text editor for JSF 2

  Hi, I searched around for a basic WYSIWYG rich text editor that I can use in a JSF 2 (VDL) application, but found nothing satisfactory.. in the sense that: The editor is very extensive, and not configurable (like PrettyFaces) The editor doesn't work with VDL (like RichFaces) Multiple instances of the editor cannot be used on the same page (like Tomahawk t:htmlArea) I actually don't need all the fancy things like Fonts, Indenting/justification, undo/redo... just Bold, Italic, Lists and Hyperlinks would suffice. Do you know of something that works well in this scenario, as well as gives out XHTML compliant markup, and works well with partial page refreshes(f:ajax), or would you recommend that I write my own? • Parsing error when using getSearchResultsForQuery of MGTwitterEngine

• Only run selenium test if previous selenium test fails

  I have several 'it' blocks in my selenium test file (using Ruby and rspec) that test various portions of my web application. Each 'it' block stops executing and goes to the next 'it' block if any of the conditions or code fails. Is there a way to run an 'it' block only if the previous fails or call a function to react to the failed test? Is there a better way to accomplish what I am wanting to do that doesn't involve an 'it' block? • Transparent PNG menu item backgrounds in IE6 with rollovers

  Hi I have been trying to do this for what feels like all my life I have a list menu with block display links, each link has a sliding doors png background image. I have used this javascript (http://www.ideashower.com/our_solutions/png-hover/) to implement the alphaimageloader fix for ie6 using a transparent gif. When I test it for the first time it works but if I click to a different page and then click back it doesn't work anymore - the menu completely disappears, I can get it to work again by duplicating the transparent gif and changing it's name, but again if I go to another page and then come back to it, it stops working and the menu dissappears. Is this a server caching issue or something like that. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated! Thanks

  Hi All: I have added a code which will include child jsp using jsp:include. The problem i am facing is that the code present in child code is not executing. Below is the code iam using it now JSPF File: <jsp:include page="X.jsp" flush="true"> </jsp:include> the above code is present in a file named "A.jspf" which is included in another jsp file named "Parent.jsp". X.jsp: <%@ page import="java.util.*" %> <% System.out.println("********Child JSP"); %> Whenever i execute the parent file "Parent.jsp", all the other contents given in Parent.jsp and A.jspf is displaying except the content present in X.jsp. No error is displaying. Both X.jsp and A.jspf are present in same folder only. Please help me to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.

  Okay, so I'm learning php, html, and mysql to learn website development (for fun). One thing I still don't get is how to use md5 of sha1 hashes. I know how to hash the plain text, but say I want to make a login page. Since the password is hashed and can't be reversed, how would mysql know that the user-inserted password matches the hashed password in the database? Here is what I mean: $password = md5($_POST['password']); $query = ("INSERT INTO `users`.`data` (`password`) VALUES ('$password')"); I know that this snippet of script hashes the password, but how would I use this piece of code and make a login page? Any working examples would be great.

  Hi, I've application to open popup window to print page. function printHTML(urlPath) { var printPopUp = window.open(urlPath,null,"height=600,width=777,status=yes,toolbar=no,menubar=no,location=no,scrollbars=yes"); printPopUp.print(); } This script is working fine in IE, but in firefox/chrome. print() function is overlapping window.open, as a result print dialog is showing first while screen is still loading. I need to close print dialog in order to render page properly then print manually. Please advise.

• Asp.net Response.Redirect Error

  My team and I are working on a portal applicaiton. When a user requests a page, we get a page object (contianing permissions, actual file to use and what not). We then do a Response.Redirect to "~/Default.aspx". The crazy thing is that when the code to validate access and what not is called from a button click event from within an ajax update panel, response.redirect is pasting a "&f2" or a "/" into the url. So rather than http://localhost/Default.aspx, the webbrowser is being redirected to http://localhost/%f2Default.aspx, and is subsequently returning a 404 error. HttpContext.Current.Response.Redirect("~/Default.aspx", false); Anyone have an idea of why this would occur? And it only happens when the click event fires inside an update panel.

• Belkin Flip KVM keyboard skip problems

  I have just bought a Belkin Flip 2 port KVM. Functionally it is almost there except I have a keyboard sticking problem. So if I type the word 'Hello' it will often (about 25% of the time) output 'Hellooooooooooooooooooooo'. If I plug the keyboard directly into the USB on the computer I don't have this problem, only when plugged into the KVM. I feel like it is a USB speed problem. Followup It appears I have the same problem with the mouse, it will jump from one side of the screen to the other as I move it. The mouse is annoying but half as much as the keyboard.

• jQueryUI Ajax.NET Postback Bug

  Hi, I have this ASP.NET page with ASP.NET UpdatePanel and jQueryUI droppable and sortable components. The page works fine in all browsers, but doesn't in Internet Explorer (IE8 tested). After I try to call ASP.NET AJAX event (by pressing my asp.net button inside the UpdatePanel) my sortable list stops working properly inside IE browser and the browser throws the following error: Message: Unspecified error. Line: 145 Char: 186 Code: 0 URI: http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.4.2.min.js I found out that the problem is caused by the code on line 66: $("#droppable").droppable(); If I comment it out, the sortable list works fine after ajax postbacks. But it doesn't make sense. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks. P.S. I am using jQueryUI 1.8.1 and jQuery 1.4.2

  I recently installed cache-money. After some difficulties getting memcached and cache-money set up, I thought I had it working. It cached the one query on my login page fine. I login, and go to my message index page and get this error: indices delegated to @cache_config.indices, but @cache_config is nil: Slug(id: integer, name: string, sluggable_id: integer, sequence: integer, sluggable_type: string, scope: string, created_at: datetime) Searching for the first part of that error message returns 0 hits on Google, so I'm at a loss on where to even begin.   I am trying to install php on my windows 7 machine. I have installed IIS 6.x and I have also installed php.   The graphical Interface in my system is garbled with some text. At the beginning I thought it was due to java and tomcat that I installed. But after removing java and tomcat, it is still the same.   Windows 32BIT Box (Server OS) 4GB RAM a 800GB LUN Mapped to the above box as a local drive Around 700GB of text files (Yes text files and a few thousand word documents) nested in thousands of directories. I need to move this to a new storage and map another server to it. What would be the best way to go about it ? What I did was mapped the existing LUN to our new box and mapped a LUN from the New storage to the new box too, and tried copying (windows copy) but that wasn't good / fast enough considering the downtime. I am now looking for either a script which will do this or a utility (prefer opensource / free) to move this size of data at a good speed. 2 x 1GB Nics teamed ether channel 2GBPs Any suggestions or pointers would be off great help Thanks !

  I have usb-tethering enabled in my phone. It works fine with Vista. When I plug my phone into my Tecra 8000 laptop running Xubuntu, dmesg shows: "usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8". I see that the OS has detected it as a storage device, but I can't get it to function correctly as a network device. /dev/us* shows no usb0, but it does show /dev/usbdev1.1_ep00 /dev/usbdev1.1_ep81 /dev/usbdev1.8_ep00 ... usbdev1.8_ep83. I could just use the wireless tether app for android, but I can't get my Netgear wg511 v2 (made in China) wireless card to work in this laptop either. But that's another post for later.
